Saweetie Lands A Collaboration With Forever 21, After Being Bullied For Making ‘Retail Music’

Since her musical breakthrough Saweetie has been bullied over her creative choices. Most recently, the “Is It The Way” rapper’s previous summer bop sparked a fierce debate online.

In March, Saweetie teased the track “Nani.” Once the clip was shared online, some users brushed it off as mindless “retail music.” Today (December 2), Saweetie had the final laugh by announcing her new collaboration with fashion retailer Forever 21.

Over on X (formerly Twitter), Saweetie shared the promotional trailer (viewable here) for the partnership with the caption: “Thanx, trollz.”

In the teaser, Saweetie looked over viral reactions to her song before heading into her local Forever 21 store.

“It’s giving Forever 21 store playlist,” read one comment.

“Retail music for sure,” said another.

“Yea the song is literally giving Forever 21 music,” listed another comment.

After shaking off the dismissive remarks, Saweetie walked into the location two campaign images of herself (Forever Naughty and Forever Nice) greeted her at the entrance. Although the details of the partnership hasn’t yet been revealed back on the visuals, store display, and Saweetie’s fierce animal print coat and knee-high boots, all signs point to a curated collection.

Time and time again, Saweetie has turned negative online comments about her into positive cash flow. Just think back to Saweetie’s McDonald’s meal and the jokes about her viral eating habits. The rapper always finds a way to laugh her way to the bank.

Saweetie Throws A Pool Party For The Girls In Her New Video For ‘Nani’

Saweetie is always going to give us something fun, something for the summertime, and something for the girls to get ready and party to. Tonight (May 17), she has shared her new single, “Nani,” a pretty girl anthem celebrating herself and the embracing the sisterly love around her.

On the breezy track, Saweetie is ready to tear up the night, and she isn’t going to call it quotes early. She plans to take it to the “Plane, sprinter, glam, to the club, backdoor section, shots, another club /Two shows, one night,” as she notes on the song’s pre-hook.

“‘Nani’ is a record about empowering yourself to walk through any room you enter feeling beautiful, confident and unstoppable,” said Saweetie in the statement. “Commit to the work, get the bag and have fun doing it!”

In the song’s accompanying video, Saweetie is seen throwing a fun pool party for her girls, before leveling it up and taking it to the bar and the club.

We can always rely on Saweetie for a confident, feel-good hit. In recent months, we’ve seen her star in guest roles on show’s like BMF and serve as a mentor on The Voice. As she’s seemingly been everywhere on-screen, we’ll likely hear “Nani” everywhere this summer.

Saweetie’s refreshed Pretty B*tch Music era is upon us. To kick off the wave, the rapper released the record “Richtivities.” But the best is yet to come. Yesterday (March 30), Saweetie teased what seems to be her next single, supposedly titled “Nani.”

“Ooh, got that nani, nani, nani / How she walk through, swingin’ that body / Yellin’, “Who gon’ stop me?” / You ain’t got the time to clock me / Ooh, got that nani, nani, nani / Big, bad, I’ma keep it low with money / Yellin’, ’Who gon’ stop me?’ / You ain’t got the time to clock me / Pull the cameras out, a b*tch lookin’ too good / My name in her mouth,” raps Saweetie.

Users online immediately took to the clip and demanded that Saweetie drop the whole track. Even GloRilla gave her stamp of approval.

“I like dis 🔥🔥🔥,” wrote the rapper.

“Okay, sis, this sounds like a cute little vibe. I could get behind this,” penned a user.

“I know a hit when I hear one,” wrote another.

“A pop summer hit omg,” chimed another.

“Oooooooo likeee! She really makes music for us pretty b*tches,” wrote another.

Saweetiehas yet to share a release date for the track. So, for now, the teaser will have to hold you over.
