Diddy “Proud’ Of Athlete’s Foot From Going Hard In The Gym

Diddy is not one to shy away from putting his life on display — even when it may be too personal. The Bad Boy founder recently shared that he got a nasty case of Athlete’s Foot on social media. Diddy says it comes after he’s been going hard in the gym. Surprisingly, the musician and producer is quite proud of himself. “You know I been locked in,” he said in a clip of his foot posted to The Shade Room‘s Instagram. “It’s a proud day today. I been on my three-a-day workouts, and I got athlete’s foot.”

Fans left some hilarious responses in the post’s comment section about the rapper’s feet. “This the foot they used in 12yrs a slave,” one person joked. Whereas another user said: “Y’all a lil too comfortable with these construction worker feet posts.” However, one person went as far as questioning Diddy’s hygiene. “So he’s part of the ‘don’t wash their feet,’ club. Too rich to be itchin,” they wrote.

The Harlem-bred native seems to take the phrase” health is wealth” very seriously. In recent years, Diddy has become an exercise fanatic. On any random day, you’ll find him sharing a clip from an intense workout. It doesn’t hurt that he’s a billionaire, which allows him to hire personal chefs, trainers, and dieticians to maintain a healthy lifestyle. On the music side of things, Diddy recently unveiled the trailer for his upcoming album, The Love Album: Off the Grid.

The trailer finds him reflecting on life as well as looking toward the future. “Why am I doing this? Especially with the success that I’ve had, especially where my life, how stressful and treacherous this music business is,” the trailer begins. He continued: “My heart has been broken. I still have that question of, like, ‘Will I ever love again?’” As the trailer progresses, we see snapshots of Diddy’s life — from his relationship with the late model Kim Porter and bonding with his daughter, Love Sean Combs, to behind-the-scenes footage of him working in the studio.

Burna Boy On Afrobeats: “They Lack Substance”

Burna Boy’s recent comments seem to have rubbed people the wrong way. During a recent interview with Apple Music’s Zane Lowe, the Nigerian-bred singer shared his thoughts about the lack of substance involved in Afrobeats. Burna Boy claims that many of the artists lack real “life experience.” In his opinion, the genre has become about “nothing” “Half of them … 90% of them, have almost no real-life experiences that they can understand.”

Burna Boy also noted that music doesn’t have realistic depictions about the pitfalls of life. “That’s why you hear most Nigerian music, African Music, or Afrobeats, as people call it, is mostly about nothing, literally nothing. There is no substance to it, like nobody is talking about anything. It’s just a great time, an amazing time. But at the end of the day, life isn’t an amazing time,” he told Lowe.

Burna Boy Has Faced Major Backlash Over His Comments

After clips of the interview made its rounds on social media, many people blasted the artist for his statements. “This is ignorance at its peak! A great time is not ‘nothing’. It is something. Something tangible. Afrobeats has lifted a lot of people out of depression. During #EndSARS protested using Davido’s FEM as our anthem. @burnaboy should stop capping rubbish just because he wants to sell his album,” one person wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter). Whereas another user said: “Overall, he could have passed his message without making the genre look bad. I’m a big time Burna Boy fan by the way, but the truth has to be said.”

Another person commented: “Man just lose it saying this.. disrespecting people work! This is odd bruv.” However, some offered a different perspective, and believed Burna Boy might have had a point. “He actually said Most of “Afrobreats” and in this context I’m sure he’s referring to Albums. When you listen to most of these “Afrobeats” albums, it’s just a collection of maybe hit songs and even some you don’t get the album feeling to it at all. That doesn’t even mean we don’t have good Afrobeats stuff out there,” someone wrote.

Common isn’t the only one to bear witness to LL’s generosity. While appearing on LL’s episode of Paramount’s Behind The Music, Eminem shared his own story about the rap pioneer. He was also gifted a custom-made chain by the rapper/actor. “Since I was a little kid I always wanted a chain,” Em explains, speaking on LL Cool J’s iconic gold chain worn in the “I’m Bad” video. “I was recording with Rick Rubin, and I was like, ‘Yo, can you ask LL where he got his chains from?’ So he had these made and sent them to me.”

In other related news, LL Cool J recently shared his thoughts about older rappers considering retirement.  During a recent appearance on Sway’s Universe, the iconic pioneer shared his thoughts on ageism in rap. Furthermore, he believes that music artists don’t have to flirt with retirement in the same way athletes do. “Hip Hop is not a sport,” he began. “It’s like playing guitar or the horn…” He continued: “So I don’t have to stop doing what I do and stop recording at 34.” LL added, “I hear artists all the time flirting with retirement, and that’s really insecurity. Because they don’t know whether or not they’re gonna be able to continue on in their careers.”

Being a DAD is the greatest adventure of my life,” Miller wrote. “Man I am so in love and proud of these two girls River & Winter! The best gifts I’ve ever received. Thank you God and Drew, and thank you to all whom sent amazing energy and messages today!”

He continued: “My wish? To make this planet a better place for our little ones, that’s the ultimate GIFT. La vie est belle! Romans 12:2.” Romeo Miller’s comment section seemed to applaud the rapper/actor’s outlook on fatherhood. “Awesome… I wish all parents realize the importance of being available and active in their children’s life from the beginning, this is the start of breaking generational curses. Another fan added,” You deserve the joy Romeo, ur such a beautiful soul, humble and God fearing, God blessed u with 2 lil princesses… fatherhood looks good on you..proud of ya.” Miller welcomed his first daughter, River Rose, on February 14, 2022, and his second, Winter Snoh, on March 15, 2023. As he announced Winter’s arrival on Instagram, he called fatherhood his “most fulfilling” achievement.

He began: “I introduce to you my fearless, intuitive, and ingenious daughter; WINTER SNOH MILLER! My heart is so full knowing that my girls will have each other as they grow. I’m a papa of 2!” He continued: “I’ve accomplished a lot of things in my life, but becoming a father is by far the best and most fulfilling. You made me see. Psalms 127:3. #ThankYouGod #GirlDad #LovesOfMyLife #Happy.” However, the rapper and his own father weren’t getting along well earlier this year. When his sister, TyTyana Miller, reportedly passed away from a drug overdose, he criticized his father, Master P, for putting on for the public rather than dealing with family matters. Nevertheless, they eventually mended fences after trading shots online.

Jermaine Dupri Addresses Tweet About Hip Hop 50 Events In ATL

Jermaine Dupri seemed to rub folks the wrong way with his tweet about brands not honoring Atlanta’s contributions during Hip Hop’s 50th anniversary. “no brands have done any dinners or get-togethers in Atlanta celebrating the 50 anniversary of Hip Hop,” he wrote on Friday (August 18). His comments sparked a firestorm of controversy as his tweet made its rounds on social media.

However, not a ton of folks seemed to agree with Jermaine Dupri. Since the post, he’s received an onslaught of criticism, with fans asking why doesn’t he do it himself. “Nigga ain’t YOU a brand from Atlanta?! Why YOU ain’t do nothing,” one person commented. Another fan wrote: “I’m not even trying to be rude. I consider you a legend. So I’m wondering why don’t you do one?’” Conversely, on Monday (August 21), Dupri returned to Twitter to address the negative feedback.

Jermaine Dupri Says He Has No Beef With Hip Hop 50 Events In New York

Dupri also made it clear that he has no beef with New York and that his sentiments were regarding business. “I see someone is trying to take my tweet and create the narrative that [I’m] mad about what’s been happening in NY for #HipHop50 compared to what’s been happening in Atlanta, lol that’s completely false,” he tweeted. “My statement was all [business] related.”

In other related news, Jermaine Dupri and Drake have teamed up for a docu-series about the iconic Atlanta club, Magic City. The series will detail the back story of the famous venue and its decades-long influence on rap. Charles Todd will serve as the director of Magic City: An American Fantasy. 2 Chainz, Nelly, Shaquille O’Neal, Quavo, Killer Mike, and Big Boi, among others, will all be making appearances. “Magic City is a second home for me. It’s the one place where celebrities, hustlers, politicians, and Atlanta locals all come together. I’ve watched it evolve over the years from a local joint to an internationally recognized spot. It’s about time we tell this story the right way,” executive producer Dupri said in a statement.

LL Cool J Says Older Rappers Wanting To Retire Are “Insecure”

Despite having an amazing career and legacy spanning several decades, LL Cool J makes it clear he’s not stopping anytime soon. In his opinion, all rappers should feel that way, especially the older generation. During a recent appearance on Sway’s Universe, the iconic pioneer shared his thoughts on ageism in rap. He believes that music artists don’t have to flirt with retirement in the same way athletes do. He even took it a step further and claimed that it could actually make you insecure. “Hip Hop is not a sport,” he began. “It’s like playing guitar or the horn…” He continued: “So I don’t have to stop doing what I do and stop recording at 34.”

LL added, “I hear artists all the time flirting with retirement, and that’s really insecurity. Because they don’t know whether or not they’re gonna be able to continue on in their careers. At least that’s how it comes off to me.” The rapper also noted that it comes off as a lack of gratitude. “You’re in a position to have a great career, and you’re flirting with retirement for absolutely no reason.”

The Queens native isn’t known for biting his tongue. So when DJ Akademiks called rappers from his generation washed up and “dusty,” he didn’t hold back. “Don’t think just because somebody knows how to get money, or fails to get money, that they didn’t make a contribution to the culture. No one discusses Miles Davis’s bank account. We don’t talk about John Coltrane’s bank account. We don’t talk about a lot of Rock musicians’ bank accounts. A lot of great Country artists, we don’t talk about their bank accounts,” LL said in a video posted to his Instagram.

He continued: “Nobody believed in it. How can you make a 5-year plan or a 10-year plan on something that doesn’t even exist yet?” he said. “So just because [Hip Hop pioneers] didn’t get rich, just because they weren’t able to pile up millions or billions of dollars, does not mean that they didn’t make a contribution to this culture.”

Rod Wave Calls Out Blogs, Says Being Famous Is “Lame”

Rod Wave just proved that his vulnerability doesn’t stop at his music. The “Heart On Ice” musician recently opened up about the pitfalls of fame. On Monday (August 21), DJ Akademiks posted a message from the rap star from a recent Instagram Story. Rod Wave says he thinks being famous is “lame” because of how the media can spin negative stories to anyone. He also called it “unfair” and admitted it has hurt his feelings when lies are spread about him.

“fame sh*t lame, square a** blog n*ggas even worse,” he wrote. “Anybody can say your name how they want to, and a blog site jus gone spread it to da world. He continued: “and ppl believe it. sh*t not fair. don’t even care who y’all hurt wit dat sh*t.”

Judging by Ak’s comment section, fans don’t seem to be too supportive of Rod Wave’s message. “No one told him to be famous- sounds like a personal problem,” one user commented. Another person wrote: “OR YOU COULD OF MADE/MAKE CHRISTIAN MUSIC AND HAVE A HIGHER CHANCE OF LOOKING FOR THE CONSIDERATION AND COMPASSION THIS BOY LOOKING FOR. THATS LIKE PURSUING N BEING A FOOTBALL PLAYER AND YOU NOT UNDERSTANDING WHY INJURIES ARE HAPPENING [laughing emoji]. IT’S APART OF THE GAME.” On the other hand, when Rod Wave isn’t pouring out his heart to fans, he’s doing it in his music. Last week, he dropped off a new emotional track titled “Call Your Friends.” The track comes ahead of his forthcoming album, Nostalgia.

However, on a more sour note, it seems Rod Wave’s dad and Moneybagg Yo are beefing. According to Rodney “Fatz” Green, the “Wokesha” rapper allegedly threatened to shoot him for allegedly asking to borrow a lighter. Green referred to Moneybagg and his crew as “a bunch of b*tches.” In his opinion, the rapper should’ve apologized to him. “Moneybagg, you should’ve been told my son you apologized for being disrespectful to his daddy,” he says in the clip. “The f*ck wrong with you? Like you wanted to shoot me.”

Diddy Unveils Trailer For “Love” Album

Diddy is back and better than ever. The Harlem-bred mogul just dropped off the trailer for his upcoming album, The Love Album: Off the Grid. Coming in at just under four minutes, the trailer finds the billionaire reflecting on his life as well as looking toward the future.

Additionally, the video features a star-studded lineup, including Justin Bieber, Swae Lee, Mary J. Blige, Babyface, Jozzy, Yung Miami, French Montana, and more.

This Marks Diddy’s First Solo Project Since 2006

It’s been 17 years since Diddy released his debut album, 2006’s Press Play. It spawned singles like “Tell Me” featuring Christina Aguilera and “Last Night” with Keyshia Cole. However, the Bad Boy founder has continued to keep fans fed with several singles over the years. Most recently, he teamed up with the City Girls and Fabolous for “Act Bad.” Before that, he collaborated with Bryson Tiller on a track titled “Gotta Move On.” The Love Album: Off the Grid is scheduled to be released on September 15. As of today, Diddy has yet to reveal the official tracklist or album artwork, but we can expect it soon.

In other related news, following the death of Clarence Avant, Diddy revealed his plans to honor his legacy. He was one of the many performers who honored the deceased industry connoisseur. “Clarence Avant was the definition of a free, fearless Black man. He never allowed any level of adversity or limitation stop him from paving his own path and advocating for Black creators to be valued and respected at the highest level,” his caption read.

Russ Gets Introspective With “Santiago”

Russ gets more vulnerable than ever with his latest project, Santiago. Throughout the 13-track project, the rapper explores his struggles with fame, relationships, family, and more. It features slower tempos and emo-inspired sounds. As Santiago contains no features, fans can concentrate on Russ and his journey. This would be his first project since Chomp 2.5, which he released in May.

The rapper took to Instagram a few months back to announce the project. Russ noted how much the album meant to him and how he had to do some soul-searching for it. “This album represents my mental, spiritual, physical, and emotional journey to my treasure (I talk more about what my treasure is on the album, but it’s symbolized by the pyramid). The journey at times wasn’t and isn’t pretty,” Russ wrote. “I’ve put myself through the ringer and beat myself up quite a bit along the way. The front cover depicts externally what that sort of psychological warfare looks like.”

“Santiago” Symbolizes His Emotional, Mental, and Spiritual Journey, He Says

He continued: “I’m really excited. I’m really nervous. SANTIAGO is my journey to self love & self mastery while touching on the obstacles that have provided resistance along the way…feelings of emptiness, inadequacy, imposter syndrome, doubt, anger, shame (to name a few), and ultimately issues from my childhood that have shown up in my adult life. It’s my attempt to understand, navigate, and heal.”

In other related news, Russ discussed why he views Spotify’s “monthly listeners” stat as misleading. “Sat down with Spotify and got to finally debunk wtf monthly listeners actually means,” he wrote on Twitter. In a subsequent post, Russ stated: “I have 10,000,000 people in my active audience out of my 14m monthly listeners. That’s people who go out of their way to listen to my music. The rest is people who heard it on a playlist or Spotify radio etc.. they weren’t actively tryna hear it. This is why I say the monthly listener number is a facade.”

Cam’ron And Ghostface Killah Recall Hilarous Past Encounter

Cam’ron and Ghostface Killah are two of New York’s finest MCs. So it’s no surprise they would be big fans of one another. A clip of the pair was put online, where they were embracing each other as well as sharing a couple of laughs. Cam even recalled a hilarious moment when he was trying to locate the Wu-Tang rapper. The encounter between the pair took place backstage at the Yankee Stadium’s Hip Hop 50 concert.

Apparently, he trekked all over NYC, hoping to meet with the rapper. “I seen that shit!” Ghostface Killah told Cam as they laughed. “A couple n*ggas was like, Cam don’t go in there, I said I’m going in,” Cam’ron recalled. “I wanted to see where Ghost lived at!” The Dipset member also revealed that he conducted his search in the early morning hours, around 3 A.M.

Apparently, Cam Looked All Around NYC For Ghostface

The pair shared some more laughs before the clip ends, and the pair plans to depart. It’s comforting to watch legends support other legends like this. On the music front, the rapper recently teased a new mixtape as well as a collaboration with Ma$e.
