Miami Heat fans will now be greeted by a lasting tribute to Dwyane Wade as the franchise legend becomes the first player in team history to receive a statue outside the Kaseya Center. Wade, who led the Heat to three championships during his 15-season tenure, was celebrated during a special unveiling ceremony.

The statue immortalizes a memorable moment from March 9, 2009, when Wade hit a buzzer-beating three-pointer against the Chicago Bulls. Following the shot, Wade famously jumped onto the scorer’s table, declaring, “This is my house!” That iconic celebration is captured in the statue’s pose, which Wade noted would now be “set in stone” for future generations.

As Wade stood in front of the statue, he relished the moment, encouraging his son to strike the same pose while his daughter joined in the fun. The unveiling coincided with the Heat’s season opener, where the court was dedicated to former head coach and current Team President Pat Riley, a key figure in establishing the franchise’s championship culture.

Wade expressed gratitude for his connection to the organization, emphasizing his role in building its legacy. “I didn’t come into history; I’m a part of the history,” he stated, underscoring his enduring impact on the Miami Heat and the sport itself. This statue ensures that Wade’s legacy will resonate for years to come.

Dwyane Wade Couldn’t Contain His Disappointment Over Horrendous Statue

Dwyane Wade was a legendary player with the Miami Heat and his contributions to that franchise will forever live in infamy. He is a member of the Basketball Hall of Fame and has three NBA championships. Overall, he is beloved by Heat fans everywhere, and it should come as no surprise that the team would want to honor him. They have already retired his jersey number, but recently, they decided to go one step further and honor him in a different way.

The Heat did just that by commissioning a new statue to go outside of their arena. Last night, the statue was unveiled and Wade was there with his family for the honor. However, the unveiling did not go as planned. Overall, the statue turned out to be a massive disappointment. As you can see below, the statue did not look like Wade at all. The face was all jacked up, and Wade could not contain his disappointment. Multiple clips of Wade seemingly laughing at the statue went viral. Moreover, he said the quiet part out loud during his speech. “Who is that guy,” he remarked.

SOURCE SPORTS: Miami Heat to Dedicate Kaseya Center Court to Pat Riley

Pat Riley

Pat Riley

The Miami Heat announced Monday that they will dedicate their Kaseya Center court and all future courts to legendary coach and team president Pat Riley. The official unveiling will be held on opening night, Oct. 23, as Riley enters his 30th season with the franchise.

“Thirty years, three championships, countless moments — none of it would have been possible without Pat Riley at the helm of the ship,” said Micky Arison, Managing General Partner in a statement from the Heat. “Pat has accomplished so much for this franchise and this city that it’s only fitting his name is forever etched on the hardwood where every day we will be reminded of his impact on the game and the Heat.”

Synonymous with the Heat’s success, Riley led the team to its first championship in 2006 as head coach and oversaw two additional titles in 2012 and 2013 as team president. His leadership transformed Miami into a prime destination for NBA talent, bringing in stars like Alonzo Mourning, Shaquille O’Neal, LeBron James, Chris Bosh, and Jimmy Butler.

“This has been one hell of a journey that Micky and I have taken together over the last 30 years,” Riley said in the team’s statement. “The goal from day one was to win, and win big. We did. We won championships, sprayed each other with champagne, had parades, celebrated on this floor, in this arena, in the streets with our great fans and hung the names of our greatest players from the rafters. Naming the court after me would have made my parents very proud. It is a great, great honor for myself, Chris and my family.”

Since he arrived in 1996, the Heat have won three championships and made seven NBA Finals appearances, solidifying Riley’s legacy as a key figure in Miami’s basketball history. This court dedication further entwines his name with the franchise’s storied past and future.

The HEAT will host the Orlando Magic on opening night.

Jimmy Butler Complained To Camila Cabello That Heat Fans ‘Never Show Up On Time’

For years, Miami fans have gotten heat (pun intended) for not exactly being the most punctual fan base in the NBA. A combination of some heavy traffic and living in a city with beaches and restaurants and plenty to do means a lot of Heat games start with a sparsely filled arena, eventually reaching capacity well after the opening tip.

Miami fans will defend themselves with a variety of excuses, including some very legitimate ones, but it is noticeable and it’s not just fans of other teams or the media that see it. In a new video with Complex, Jimmy Butler sat down with pop star Camila Cabello to talk about their shared home city, and while Butler made clear he loves the people of Miami, he also couldn’t help but complain about the tardiness of the fans, calling it the worst thing about the city.

Butler wants to have the building “rocking” from the jump, but it tends to be a slow build to the energy at home games for the Heat. It’ll be interesting to see how this goes over with Heat fans. Butler, for his part, has one more year left on his deal with the Heat and extension talks with the organization have seemingly not gotten far. That said, while there was reporting earlier this summer that could lead to Butler pushing his way out via trade, more recently the indication has been he’ll play out the year with the Heat whether he’s got a long-term deal or not. Either way, he’d like to see the Kaseya Center fill up a bit earlier than usual next season.

Derrick White Leads Celtics in Close-Out Win over Miami HEAT

Derrick White continued his stellar performance for the Boston Celtics, delivering a game-high 25 points to propel his team to a resounding 118-84 victory over the Miami Heat in Game 5. The Celtics secured their spot in the Eastern Conference Semifinals with this win.

White’s explosive start set the tone for the game, as he scored 15 points in the opening quarter, including three crucial three-pointers. His impressive performance earned him rare accolades, becoming only the sixth player in playoff history to average 20+ points while shooting over 55% from the field, 45% from beyond the arc, and 90% from the free-throw line.

The Celtics dominated from start to finish, never trailing in the game and leading by as many as 37 points, marking the third-largest playoff win in franchise history. Their defensive prowess was also evident, holding the Heat to under 90 points for the game.

While Bam Adebayo led the Heat with 23 points, Miami fell short of advancing to the Eastern Conference Semifinals for the first time since 2021.

Boston now awaits the winner of the ORL-CLE series, with the Cleveland Cavaliers holding a 3-2 lead. As the series heads to Orlando for Game 6,

Sexyy Red is getting her bag by any means necessary -– and she’s not doing anything to change herself or act disingenuously for the cameras. Moreover, a recent interview with the Miami Heat’s media team contained some pretty unserious answers courtside, in the way that she became known for quite quickly. “Do you love the Miami Heat?” the interviewer asked. “Skee yee!” the 25-year-old answered. “What is your favorite thing about Miami” was the next question: “Skee yee,” her daughter answered. “Do you have a favorite player on the Miami Heat?” The only player that matters in the Hood Hottest Princess‘ universe: “Get it, Sexyy!

As if that wasn’t enough, she also remarked that her favorite Miami Heat jersey is the Sexyy Red jersey. While maybe the NBA basketball team sought actual answers, they and their media team likely knew that this yields more in the long run. Rick Ross Steps Out With Mystery Woman Amid Cristina Mackey Breakup Rumors

Rumors that Rick Ross and Cristina Mackey have gone their separate ways have been running rampant as of late. Things seem to have started with reports that Rozay was spotted out with another woman. Speculation surrounding the alleged split only grew from there. Eventually, Mackey wiped all traces of the hitmaker from her social media profiles, seemingly pointing to a breakup. She later chatted with fans on Instagram Live, but promptly ended the stream when Rick Ross’ music started to play. Of course, this left social media users convinced.

While neither Ross nor Mackey have confirmed the rumored breakup, a new clip of Rozay seems to point to them being true. Recently, he was spotted attending a Miami Heat game accompanied by a date. He and the woman, who has yet to be identified at the time of writing, sat in the front row and appeared to chat about the game.

Emo Jimmy Butler Returns For Fall Out Boy Cameo

Jimmy Butler has once again debuted his emo look, this time for a cameo in a Fall Out Boy video. Butler, complete with his emo hair, stars as a bedazzled cowboy in the video for the newly released “So Much (For) Stardust”. Butler dances, lip-syncs, and eventually summons Pete Wentz from a bedazzled Magic 8 ball. It’s a truly bizarre, but not welcome, return of Butler’s alter ego.

Butler first debuted his emo look at a preseason media day for the Heat last October. After he simply declared that “I’m emo”, Butler proceeded to give a very standard press conference appearance about his expectations for the season as the Heat tried to run it back after reaching the Finals in 2023. The look was then parodied by Shaq during the Halloween episode of Inside The NBA‘s Halloween episode at the end of the month.

Jimmy Butler Earns Suspension For Role In Pels Fight

Meanwhile, Butler, Naji Marshall, and Nikola Jovic will be suspended for a game while Jose Alvarado and Thomas Bryant will miss three games for their respective roles in the brawl that broke out at Heat-Pelicans on Friday night. Alvarado and Bryant’s punishments were deemed more severe due to the pair reigniting tensions between the teams after the original scuffle had died down. Despite this, fans will note that Draymond Green still received a larger suspension for placing Rudy Gobert in a chokehold earlier in the season. Green missed five games for that incident. Fans will likely soon voice their distaste for the league’s double standard as news of the suspensions begins to spread.

However, Butler argued that he didn’t think his actions warranted a suspension. Furthermore, he accused Williamson of flopping, causing the whole debacle to begin with. Meanwhile, Williamson appeared to place the blame on Butler. “I wasn’t tripping about K-Love because he actually protected me on my fall. All of a sudden I see Butler kind of lunging toward Naji. So I’m trying to get there like, ‘Yo, relax, like what’s going on?’” Williamson said.

Emo Jimmy Butler Returned In Fall Out Boy’s Latest Music Video

For the second straight year, Jimmy Butler decided to use preseason media day as a chance to have some fun. A year after showing up with extremely long extensions for his official photoshoot, Butler arrived to Miami’s media day with his hair straightened in an emo cut — perhaps offering a glimpse into his mood after the Heat failed to land Damian Lillard in a trade.

A visit to any of the various stats websites that use the official headshots from each season will provide a reminder of Butler’s emo look from before the season, as it really is a great bit from him. However, it appears there was more to this season’s look than just having some fun with what he’ll look like in lineup cards and on stats websites.

On Wednesday, Fall Out Boy released a new music video for their song “So Much (For) Stardust” that features Jimmy Butler (in his emo cut) wearing a bedazzled purple suit and cowboy hat, dancing in snakeskin boots alongside Pete Wentz (dressed in the same thing, but silver). That’s literally the entire 4-minute video, just a couple guys being dudes in jazzy cowboy outfits singing and dancing along to the song. It’s good timing to put out a music video featuring Butler, as he and the Heat are riding a hot streak currently, winning five straight and seven of their last eight to climb into a tie for the 5-seed in the East with Philadelphia.
