Emo Jimmy Butler Returned In Fall Out Boy’s Latest Music Video

For the second straight year, Jimmy Butler decided to use preseason media day as a chance to have some fun. A year after showing up with extremely long extensions for his official photoshoot, Butler arrived to Miami’s media day with his hair straightened in an emo cut — perhaps offering a glimpse into his mood after the Heat failed to land Damian Lillard in a trade.

A visit to any of the various stats websites that use the official headshots from each season will provide a reminder of Butler’s emo look from before the season, as it really is a great bit from him. However, it appears there was more to this season’s look than just having some fun with what he’ll look like in lineup cards and on stats websites.

On Wednesday, Fall Out Boy released a new music video for their song “So Much (For) Stardust” that features Jimmy Butler (in his emo cut) wearing a bedazzled purple suit and cowboy hat, dancing in snakeskin boots alongside Pete Wentz (dressed in the same thing, but silver). That’s literally the entire 4-minute video, just a couple guys being dudes in jazzy cowboy outfits singing and dancing along to the song. It’s good timing to put out a music video featuring Butler, as he and the Heat are riding a hot streak currently, winning five straight and seven of their last eight to climb into a tie for the 5-seed in the East with Philadelphia.

Andy Hurley is not just a musician; he’s a man of principles. He follows a vegan lifestyle and identifies as straight edge. Interestingly, he also subscribes to the philosophy of anarcho-primitivism, which advocates for a return to how humans lived 10,000 years ago. Despite the seeming contradiction between this belief and his modern career, Hurley once humorously remarked in a 2007 interview with Alternative Press, “It’s a living.” On the professional front, brands like Sabian cymbals, Vic Firth drumsticks, and C&C Custom drums endorse him.

NFL Announces Bizarre Lineup For Draft Concert

The NFL is a brand that has always strived to appeal to younger audiences. Whether that’s through promotions, the Super Bowl halftime show, or just generally trying to be the most exciting sport America has to offer. According to a poll of 1000 Gen Zers in 2022, 53% of them listed the NFL as their favorite sports league.

By extension, the NFL wants young people to tune into the NFL Draft. With the next crop of young players entering the league, the NFL wants people invested. As part of this, the NFL Draft has become a three-day spectacle that takes over an entire city. This includes the NFL Draft Concert series, a trio of musical performances that close out each day of the draft. In the past, performers have included MGK and Marshmello. But we have some questions about the 2023 lineup.

Fall Out Boy, Mötley Crüe, and Thundercat Headline NFL Draft Concert 2023

In an announcement earlier this week, the NFL revealed that the NFL Draft Concert 2023 would feature Fall Out Boy, Mötley Crüe, and Thundercat. Fall Out Boy would follow Round 1 on April 27, Mötley Crüe would come on after Round 3 on April 28, and Thundercat would close out proceedings on April 29. The concert is free on a first-come, first-served basis in Kansas City. 2022 featured a lineup of Weezer, Ice Cube, and Marshmello. Starting to think people might not want to play the NFL Draft…

Fall Out Boy and Thundercat are decent if slightly unusual choices. Thundercat is a nice way to close out the draft while Fall Out Boy is currently promoting their new album. But Mötley Crüe? The 80s metal band who is currently feuding with one of their band members? The band that hasn’t released a new album in 15 years? It’s a weird move from an organization that has the money and power to get any number of big-name stars. Furthermore, the NFL literally just had Rihanna magically vibe all over the Super Bowl. Was Mötley Crüe seriously the best they could do? Regardless, all three acts will be in attendance when the NFL Draft kicks off next week.

Cardi B Channeled Her Inner Emo Kid As She Covered Fall Out Boy At A New Year’s Eve Party

Cardi B channeled her inner emo kid as she appeared at a massive party at Miami’s E11even nightclub to ring in the new year.

While she gave a solo performance of her hit collab with Megan Thee Stallion, “WAP,” she also took some time to reminisce on some songs of years’ past. After all, they don’t call it Rockin’ Eve for nothing.

At some point in the night, Cardi sang along to Fall Out Boy’s 2005 song, “Sugar, We’re Goin’ Down.”

“Anything you wanna hear, ’cause that’s just who I am this week,” Cardi sings to the crowd with a glass of champagne in hand. “Lying in bed, next to the mausoleum.” While she didn’t get exactly all the words right, the video is so fun that you can’t help but acknowledge her effort.

Fans greatly enjoyed the wild crossover too. “Cardi B singing Fall Out boy is so real I love her,” one person tweeted.

Back in September, Cardi posted some throwback pics of herself in high school, and claimed that she while she might not have called herself emo, she was close with them. “The emo kids in school were actually really cool and will give me free cigarettes,” she wrote.

Fall Out Boy Is Coming To ‘Beat Saber’ In The VR Game’s Latest Music Pack

Is there anything better than jamming out to some of your favorite songs in Beat Saber? The VR rhythm game that features players slashing away at floating blocks is one of the best games in the always growing VR landscape. Beat Saber is so popular that some of the biggest musical artists in the world such as Lady Gaga and Billie Eilish have collaborated with the game to get music packs of their own in the game.

On Tuesday, we saw another example of a major collaboration happening with world famous band Fall Out Boy adding a music pack of their own to Beat Saber. Some of the songs include hits like “Centuries” and “Irresistible” among others.

Pete Wentz was excited about the band’s collaboration with Beat Saber saying in a statement, “Our shows are flat out filled with pyro – it’s rock n roll.” said Wentz. “That’s why our first VR collab had to have a TON of it… this will be the biggest rock show that Beat Saber has ever seen. Turn it up!”

One of the best parts of playing Beat Saber is how energetic it can feel jamming out to music while hitting each block. Fall Out Boy is perfect for a game like this thanks to how uptempo some of their music can be. We can’t wait to start jamming out when the music pack drops on March 31.
