Kanye West Wears T-Shirt With Controversial Metal Singer On It

Kanye West getting into controversy is nothing new but it’s almost impressive how many different ways he manages to find trouble. Earlier this week underground rap darling JPEGMAFIA went on a viral rant about West. He called the “Heartless” rapper out for working with collaborators that don’t care as much about their musical output. Seemingly as a result of the rant the pair met up earlier this week. Peggy shared a trio of photos of the two together to Instagram today that left fans surprised and confused.

But after that initial shock wore off, fans noticed something else equally surprising. In the photos JPEGMAFIA shared, Kanye West is wearing a t-shirt sporting the logo of pioneering black metal band Burzum and their lead singer Varg Vikernes. While that may not mean much to many, he’s a well-known and extremely controversial figure in the metal scene. The Norwegian musician notoriously spent 15 years in prison for murder and arson. Since being released he’s expressed a number of controversial far-right views. In the past, he’s often flirted with antisemitism, anti-immigrant sentiments, and even outright Nazism. Check out the pictures of Kanye sporting a Burzum shirt below.

Kanye West’s Controversial Shirt

The move came as a surprise for many of West’s fans. He’s spent the past week attempting to walk back on some of the antisemitic views he’s expressed in the past year. Rumors have swirled that West recorded an extensive apology video for some of his comments though it hasn’t been made available in full.

Earlier this month, West took to Instagram with an apology post in Hebrew. Though the post did see him trying to walk back on his comments it was criticized by some groups for alleged insincerity and even faced accusations of being AI- generated. West’s Burzum shirt isn’t going to make his attempts to walk back on past comments any easier. Drake Calls Death Metal Vocalist Chaney Crabb His “Twin Flame”

Today, Drake took to social media to reveal who he believes to be his “twin flame.” He posted a clip of Chaney Crabb, a death metal vocalist from the group Entheos, on his Instagram story. Though the comparison could be perceived as shocking, Crabb later shared her appreciation for Drake’s repost. “This was not on my 2023 bingo card,” Crabb wrote on Twitter, “Shout out to Drake for spreading the good word and putting a bunch of people on to metal. So cool. Much love!”

Chaney Crabb, however, may not be Drake’s only “twin flame.” Yesterday, Drake hopped on social media again to show his support for a fellow artist. He wished Lilah Pi a happy birthday, writing, “More life to the gyal that’s impossible to duplicate.” He then went on to call her “my inspo my confidant my best mate my heart.” The Instagram story seemed to confirm his previously rumored romance with the singer, who he also appears to reference in his verse on J Hus’ track that was released yesterday. In the song, titled “Who Told You,” Drake calls Lilah Pi out by name, seemingly confessing his feelings for her.

In other Drake news, earlier this week it was revealed that the Canadian rapper is nominated for seven BET awards this year. He has the most nominations of any 2023 nominee, which include Album Of The Year, Best Male R&B/Pop Artist, Best Male Hip Hop Artist, and more.

Drake is also gearing up for his upcoming tour alongside his collaborator, 21 Savage. In November of last year, the pair released their collaborative album, titled Her Loss. The It’s All A Blur tour is set to kick off at the end of this month in Memphis, and will wrap up in October. The summer 2023 north American tour features over 50 dates across the U.S. and Canada. The tour will make notable stops at Madison Square Garden, United Center, Capital One Arena, and more.
