Jack Dorsey Allegedly Prohibits Any Mention Of Jay-Z At His Tech Company

It seems like the complex business relationship between Twitter founder Jack Dorsey and Jay-Z still needs to smooth out some rough edges. Moreover, according to a Fortune report, the former and his management teams “sternly warned” their employees at Dorsey’s tech company Block to not make reference to the East Coast rap legend. Jay is one of nine Block board members, and anonymous employees reportedly alleged that no reason emerged as to why they couldn’t mention the reclusive billionaire in any of the company’s various communication channels, such as Slack and email. Also, the report points to Block’s many recent layoffs as a contributing factor to workplace dissent.

For those unaware, Block acquired a major stake in Jay-Z’s TIDAL streaming platform back in 2021, which many saw as a financial finesse. In addition, TIDAL themselves reportedly laid off dozens of employees from an already small staff last week, and the conversation is that Block acquisitions like Cashapp and Square will face similar processes soon. The report also alleges that various of Jack Dorsey’s employees brought Hov up in connection to the Diddy scandal before this ban.

Jack Dorsey Allegedly Bans His Employees From Talking About Jay-Z

Of course, Jay-Z doesn’t actually have anything to do with Diddy’s federal case, as any and all connections are merely speculative allegations. As such, it’s curious why Jack Dorsey would allegedly choose to do this. Maybe he is trying to support the “Song Cry” MC by quelling salacious criticism against him, or he instead doesn’t want people to point to Jay to fix problems they might be having with Dorsey? There are a couple of possible options, but nothing that gets us closer to the truth. Perhaps the tech tycoon will address this at some other point down the line.

Elsewhere, Jack Dorsey’s thoughts on hip-hop extend far beyond his alleged censorship of Jay-Z’s name in the office. He also ruffled feathers earlier this year for picking a side in the Kendrick Lamar and Drake beef, causing a whole lot of OVO Stans to suddenly praise Elon Musk’s Twitter without ever really caring about it. Jokes aside, fans have their criticisms of these moves, so we’ll see if they ever get an explanation.

Lil Yachty Divulges Thoughts On Kendrick Lamar Versus Drake Battle Mentioning Him

After a long period of (almost) silence, Lil Yachty’s finally spoken out, via his A Safe Place podcast, about the beef and battle between his good friend Drake and Kendrick Lamar. Moreover, he specifically said that a lot of people congratulated him for being mentioned by K.Dot and Rick Ross, who was also beefing with The Boy, but that he didn’t want any part in it. The Atlanta artist remarked on his respect for both Kendrick and Drizzy, and called it a “cool thing to watch” that taught him a lot. One interesting revelation or claim is that he knew that one or all of these artists mentioned him before their material came out, although he didn’t specify which track or post despite a heavy hint that it was “Euphoria.”

Finally, Lil Yachty said the beef wasn’t serious. Not only that, but he said it won’t get serious due to the distance between the two combatants and them being “rich as f**k.” Also, there were some thoughts on how people already picked Kendrick Lamar over Drake before the battle even began. “Drake was deemed a loser in this battle before it started,” he believes. “Because people don’t like him, and haven’t, and he’s won for a very long time.

Icewear Vezzo Drags Benzino For Mention In Eminem Diss

Benzino’s new diss track towards Eminem, “Rap Elvis,” is a follow-up to his own shots on “Doomsday Pt. 2” -– and it expands the scope of their shotgun blasts against their immediate circles. Marshall Mathers roped The Source‘s former co-owner’s daughter Coi Leray into their long-running feud, and he responded by bringing up a lot of Em’s rap peers. One of these is Icewear Vezzo, who had previously called his fellow Detroit MC “out of touch,” something that ‘Zino tried to use against them. However, Vezzo responded to the mention on “Rap Elvis” with some harsh words on Instagram on Wednesday (January 31), making his actual stance much clearer.

“Icewear Vezzo said that Em don’t be showing the city love/ Why you ain’t got no words for him, huh? He in your city, bruh!” Benzino rapped. “Say, Benzino, it’s all gangsta, ya heard?” the lyricist clapped back on the social media platform. “I did fed time with your big brother. But check it out, I don’t think it made sense that you brought me up in a diss song for a few reasons.

Icewear Vezzo Pops Off On Benzino After Eminem Diss: Watch

Meanwhile, Slim Shady’s frequent collaborator and fellow Detroit legend Royce Da 5’9″ saluted Vezzo on his Instagram account. The “Perfect” lyricist clearly gets the respect he deserves from peers and forefathers alike, and he’s standing on his reciprocation of that commendation.
