Cardi B Responds Blueface’s Review Of Her McDonalds Meal

Cardi B and Offset’s McDonald’s Meal has undoubtedly caused up a storm. Some weren’t entirely pleased with the simplicity of the combo which includes a Quarter Pounder with Cheese, a cheeseburger, large fries, two large drink, and an apple pie to share. Many of their fans hoped they would’ve created custom menu items similar to Travis Scott and BTS. However, the simplicity of the meal largely surrounded Valentine’s Day and date night and reflected Offset and Cardi B’s typical order at the fast food establishment.

Blueface appeared to be unhappy with the meal during an Instagram Live stream. The rapper ate a burger from McDonald’s with a hesitant look on his face before deeming the entire thing disgusting. Shortly after, fans attempted to use the clip to portray Blueface slandering Cardi B. Though the two worked together in the past, with Blueface recently praises Cardi for changing his life, Blue’s take on the Cardi B and Offset meal certainly upset a few members of Bardi Gang.

Cardi B Reacts To Blueface

As the internet began to get carried away with the narrative, Blueface made it clear that he wasn’t dissing Cardi B. In fact, he said that he didn’t even order the Cardi B and Offset meal from Mcdonalds’ to begin with. “That wasn’t no cardi an offset meal that was a regular mc chicken I forgot to put cheese on it an CCQ sauce,” he tweeted in an attempt to clarify his McDonald’s review.

Shortly after, Cardi B made it clear that the narrative surrounding Blueface was just another attempt at the internet trying to create beef. “The innanet be instigating like hell,” she wrote with three laughing emojis. Clearly, Cardi isn’t taking any criticism from her rap peers to heart, especially since actual McDonald’s franchisees have attempted to boycott the meal itself. Last wee, WSJ published a report revealing that several franchise owners have removed promotional signs for the celebrity meal, claiming Cardi and Offset do not align with McDonald’s values. Cardi later hit back revealing that it became one of the most successful celebrity meals in McDonald’s history.

Blueface Reviews Offset & Cardi B’s McDonald’s Meal

Blueface shared his reaction to trying Offset and Cardi B’s McDonald’s meal on social media. The 26-year-old rapper labeled the burger “nasty” to his followers. One of the users joked in response: “This is why offset not featuring on his next album.” Another added: “Lmaoo its still mcdonalds bro, bet the blueface meal would be just great too.”

Offset and Cardi B landed a meal at the fast food chain for its recent Valentine’s Day campaign. The option comes with a cheeseburger, Quarter Pounder with cheese, barbecue sauce, large fries, an apple pie, a large Hi-C, and a large Coke. They also partnered with the company for a merch collection.

“I think we’ve been to McDonald’s 200 million times,” Cardi told Billboard of why she and Offset were interested in the partnership with McDonald’s. She added that the couple has “different taste palates” when it comes to their McDonald’s order. “That’s the thing about McDonald’s is that we both eat it. I might suggest a different restaurant and if we get to the restaurant and the menu’s a little weird and Offset doesn’t like the food, he just looks at me.”

“I was super excited to work with McDonald’s. And also I did a little thing with McDonald’s in New York,” said Offset. “We [did] Cactus Plant Flea market and I felt like I built a great relationship with them when I met them the first time. And for them to call back and then be able to work with them to do a big commercial… This is a great opportunity because I always loved McDonald’s growing up, too.”

Despite the popularity of the rappers, Blueface isn’t the only person to voice displeasure with the partnership. According to The Wall Street Journal, a number of franchise owners have complained about Cardi and Offset not reflecting the wholesome values of the company. Cardi B responded to the reports last week, continuing to promote her collaboration with the company.

Cardi B Reacts To McDonald’s Franchisee Backlash

Another day, another controversy for Cardi B. The Bronx rapper has faced the utmost backlash throughout her career, whether it’s due to her past, her political stance, or her lyrical content. The attempts to cancel her have fell flat and she continues to have a prosperous career that has led to some impressive collaborations and partnerships. Most recently, she and her husband Offset starred in Mcdonald’s recent Valentine’s Day campaign. Unfortunately, not everyone was down for it.

Reports emerged this week that several Mcdonald’s franchisees have refused to promote the Cardi B and Offset meal bundle. The bundle included a quarter-pounder with cheese, a cheeseburger, large fries, 2 large drinks, and an apple pie intended for a perfect, budget-friendly date night. However, many franchise owners said they wouldn’t participate because of their “lyrics and lifestyle” and “urged other franchisees to remove advertising and merchandise.” Additionally, franchisees poointed out a rule in the Golden Arches Code which prohibits “partnerships with celebrities and influencers that have potential risk to damage our brand based on statements they have made or their positions on certain issues.”

Cardi B Claps Back

If McDonald’s franchisees truly valued their morals over a dollar, they likely wouldn’t be selling processed food to their communities in the first place. However, the Cardi B and Offset meal undoubtedly brought in some massive bucks for the company, which Cardi B recently confirmed. In the comments of The Neighborhood Talk’s post, she said that the Cardi B and Offset meal became one of the most successful collabs in the company’s history. “Still one of the collabs that brought them the most revenues,” she wrote. “Go get you a McWap lmaaaoooo.”

Despite the pushback, McDonald’s Chief Marketing Officer said that the company brought in “significant business for franchisees and the company,” per WSJ. This quote was posted on a Cardi B fan page, which she then reposted to her Instagram story. Nonetheless, Hassan explained, “Across our marketing, we’re focused on putting McDonald’s at the center of culture.” There’s no doubt that bringing Cardi B and Offset into the fold accomplished that. Check out Cardi B’s response above. We’ll keep you posted if Offset chimes in.

Cardi B and Offset McDonald’s Partnership Receives Pushback

Cardi B and Offset Culture 1424x1068 1

Superstar rap couple Cardi B and Offset, partnered with the fast-food giant Mcdonald’s for their latest “Famous Orders” marketing campaign. Since the release of the campaign, backlash from some restaurant owners has come about. The owners claim that the hip-hop stars don’t align with the brand’s values.

The couple’s meal was released to correspond with Valentine’s Day and features a cheeseburger with BBQ sauce, a Coke, a Quarter Pounder with cheese, and Hi-C Orange Lavaburst.

According to The Wall Street Journal, over 1,000 McDonald’s franchisees, including some operating in Southeastern and mid-Atlantic states, have declined to promote the Cardi B and Offset meal out of concern about being associated with the artists. They believe that having Cardi B promote McDonald’s will hurt the brand because of the “profanity and sexual content” of her music.

Numerous restaurant owners have reached out to McDonald’s corporate division in recent weeks to vocalize their stance on the rappers’ lyrics and lifestyles, which they feel does not align with the company’s “family-friendly” image. According to Bloomberg News, some owners have encouraged their fellow franchisees to remove advertising and merchandise associated with the meal from their stores.

Furthemore, these franchisees also said Cardi B’s partnership with the restaurant chain breaks the “Golden Arches Code.” The code does not allow “partnerships with celebrities and influencers that have potential risk to damage our brand based on statements they have made or their positions on certain issues” and “music partnerships associated with content that includes offensive language in the lyrics.”

Still, McDonald’s is sticking by their initial decision to support Cardi and Offset by emphasizing that the deal has generated widespread support and excitement from its franchisees.

McDonald’s U.S. Chief Marketing Officer Tariq Hassan said, “Across our marketing, we’re focused on putting McDonald’s at the center of culture. Cardi and Offset are an iconic couple who have their own date-night tradition at McDonald’s that goes back years. We’re proud to share a little piece of that.”

This partnership follows a line of high-profile endorsement deals with artists such as Travis Scott, Saweetie, BTS, J Balvin, and Mariah Carey.

Cardi B & Offset’s McDonald’s Deal Slammed By Franchisees

Fast food companies regularly partner with entertainers for special deals, and Cardi B and Offset are the latest to link with McDonald’s. The famous franchise is known for connecting with artists, specifically rappers, but the Hip Hop couple’s limited-time meal hasn’t been accepted by all franchise owners. According to The Wall Street Journal, Cardi and Set’s partnership hasn’t been openly welcomed. Owners have reportedly voiced concern over the couple not reflecting the wholesome values of the company.

Several franchisees emailed one another, and the WSJ stated they looked into the correspondences. Some locations said they wouldn’t promote Cardi B and Offset’s meal, blaming their lack of participation on the rappers’ “lyrics and lifestyle.” The most vehement detractors even pulled promotion material from their stores and “urged other franchisees to remove advertising and merchandise.” McDonald’s reportedly hosts over 1,000 franchises.

Cardi B & Offset Accused Of Not Being Family-Friendly

Most of the complaints seem to come from the Southeast and mid-Atlantic states. Despite the reported pushback, McDonald’s U.S. Chief Marketing Officer Tariq Hassan said Cardi B and Offset’s meal was a celebration of love, as it was released around Valentine’s Day. In commercials, the couple eats their crafted meal on a date night. The husband and wife haven’t commented on the controversy. The franchise owner critics also haven’t said anything about the couple being a blended family with five children.

Other artists who have inked similar lucrative deals include Travis Scott and Saweetie. Cardi is no stranger to her artistry causing an uproar; songs like “Wap” and “Up” have been at the center of controversy. Even politicians have voiced ire about her lyrics from Capitol Hill to social media, and Cardi has defended herself every step of the way.

A Couple That Works Together, Stays Together

Weeks ago, as people prepared for the Super Bowl, Cardi B and Offset spoke with Complex about their new deal. “I was super excited to work with McDonald’s. And also I did a little thing with McDonald’s in New York,” said Offset. “We [did] Cactus Plant Flea market and I felt like I built a great relationship with them when I met them the first time. And for them to call back and then be able to work with them to do a big commercial… This is a great opportunity because I always loved McDonald’s growing up, too.” Check out one of the couple’s McDonald’s commercials above.

Cardi B And Offset’s McDonald’s Meal Was A Club’s Event Theme And She’s, Well, Lovin’ It

Cardi B and Offset’s McDonald’s meal is as big a hit as the duo’s musical collaborations. Whatever your judgment of the meal’s quality, there’s no denying that it’s selling like gangbusters along with the cutesy merch that accompanied it. Meanwhile, even strip clubs are getting in on the meal’s popularity; one apparently hosted a themed event with staff dressed up in signature red and yellow outfits with Cardi & Offset signage.

Cardi shared some photos from the event on Twitter, writing, “This is sooo dope !!!!! A club did a Cardi & Offset meal theme ….Why I ain’t thought about this?! I love this ….I love cheeseburgers and bad bitches.”

While things are going great on the business side of Cardi’s life, she’s found the bright side of one of her personal setbacks. Ordered to complete community service in lieu of jail time for her late 2018 strip club brawl, Cardi said that it’s “the best thing that has happened to me.” She described the service as “almost like a spiritual journey because sometimes I leave these centers in tears .Those people that we leave behind they just need somebody to talk and a lil push and YOU might be able to change their life forever.”

Cardi B is a Warner Music artist. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.

Lil Wayne Claims He Hasn’t Eaten Fast Food In 20 Years And Somehow Doesn’t Even Know What McDonald’s Smells Like

Yesterday, Lil Wayne unveiled the new track “Kant Nobody” with a posthumous feature from the late DMX. He’s also been busy getting his own character in NBA 2K23.

He’s living the life, so much so that it appears he hasn’t had fast food in literal decades. At least it seems like that’s what admitted in his new interview on Zane Lowe’s Apple Music.

“When I was 19 I moved to Miami and my mom is a chef and she was very happy for the move because New Orleans is crazy. One thing she really wanted me to do was get a personal chef,” he said. “So from the age of 19 to now, I’ve always had a personal chef. I haven’t eaten any fast food forever. I don’t know what McDonald’s smell like. Only Gyms I know is Jim Jones. I can’t lift a weight. I don’t do no workout.”

Meanwhile NLE Choppa recently sang Lil Wayne’s praises and gave him flowers. “I feel like accolades never define the artist,” he said to the iconic rapper. “Personally, I feel like you supposed to have way more accolades coming your way. You should be to a point in time to where you just receiving accolades. I think it was a few days ago, you won an award. So, I just wanted to present my own accolade, physically giving you flowers and a note to let you know how much you inspired me and impacted my life. I have a skateboard too that I signed. I know you like to skateboard.”

Lil Wayne Says He Hasn’t Eaten McDonald’s Or Fast Food In 20 Years

Lil Wayne is very much in a world of his own. Over the years, the self-proclaimed martian has proven that he exists in a tiny bubble where only he and ESPN exist. Perhaps, that’s a testament to his creativity and the focus he puts into his craft. The rapper’s known to clock in over numerous songs in the studio per day, which means that there’s more music we haven’t heard from Wayne than we have. This week, he unveiled his new single, “Kant Nobody” ft. DMX and Swizz Beatz which he said is among the “billion bangers” they have in the vault.

Following the song’s release, Lil Wayne made a rare appearance on Zane Lowe’s Apple Music radio show where he discussed his latest song, as well as the upcoming Tha Carter VI. “It’s Carter 6. I never even imagined. That didn’t even sound right years ago. I can’t believe we’re at Carter 6. My fans know I give my all. Go listen to my last feature and know it’s gonna be a thousand times better than that,” he told Zane Lowe. Additionally, Weezy provided some interesting insight into his daily routine, including his diet.

Lil Wayne Doesn’t Know What McDonald’s Smells Like

When you’re rich and famous, the idea becomes less appealing when you have a personal chef to cater to your cravings. Lil Wayne revealed to Zane Lowe that, for over 20 years, he’s had a personal chef working for him. “When I was 19 I moved to Miami and my mom is a chef and she was very happy for the move because New Orleans is crazy. One thing she really wanted me to do was get a personal chef,” he explained.

Wayne’s mother didn’t want him to eat anything that was available, especially since he was frequently on the move. The 40-year-old MC admitted that he doesn’t eat fast food but he’s also not a gym rat, either. “So from the age of 19 to now, I’ve always had a personal chef. I haven’t eaten any fast food forever. I don’t know what McDonalds smell like,” he said. “Only Gyms I know is Jim Jones. I can’t lift a weight. I don’t do no workout.” Check out the interview above and sound off on your thoughts on “Kant Nobody.”

Cardi B & Offset Share McDonald’s Merch

Cardi B and Offset have shared a line of merch inspired by their recent Super Bowl commercial for McDonald’s. The line features t-shirts, hoodies, shorts, and beanies. Keeping with the Valentine’s Day theme of the advertisement, the collection comes in mainly reds and pinks, including shirts that read “nice buns,” as well as “the Cardi B & Offset meal,” and more. The pieces are priced between $38 and $68. “Forever [heart emjoi] Day Drip #ValentinesDay,” Offset captioned a post sharing the collection on Twitter.

In addition to the commercial and the clothing line, Cardi B & Offset also got their own meal at McDonald’s. The option comes with a cheeseburger, Quarter Pounder with cheese, barbecue sauce, large fries, an apple pie, a large Hi-C, and a large Coke.

Cardi B & Offset’s Merch

More merch and content coming out soon …Love yall.” She also wrote of their Valentine’s Day plans, “My baby did soo good yesterday……….Gave him that Henny neck 3000!”

Cardi B and Offset weren’t the only faces in hip-hop to pop up during the big game. Jack Harlow also was featured in an advertisement for Doritos, along with Missy Elliot. Diddy also worked with UberEats for a commercial in which he makes a hit song for the company. Check out Cardi B and Offset’s appearance in the McDonald’s Super Bowl commercial below.
