50 Cent Outraged By Melle Mel’s Eminem Comments

50 Cent responded to Melle Mel’s comments about Eminem in a since-deleted Instagram post aimed at the Furious Five rapper. Just in case you forgot, Mel recently said that Eminem’s only considered a top five MC because he’s white. Afterwards, his claim sparked a lot of discussion online, whether from defenders of Marshall Mathers or his biggest detractors. However, among many other giants, Em has 50 in his corner, and he defended the Detroit rapper no questions asked. In his deleted Instagram post, he spoke on how the landscape Em came up in and influenced is much different to the one Mel found success in.

“There was more money selling dope than being in Hip Hop when [Melle] Mel was popping, the culture has grown so much,” Fif stated. “I am not sure if it would be what it is today with out artist like Eminem. S**t I am not sure I would be who I am with out him but you know it is competitive so n***as gonna hate. LOL f**k outta here ! We sucker free.”

Moreover, to be fair, the 61-year-old acknowledged Eminem’s influence in his conversation with The Art Of Dialogue podcast. “Obviously he’s a capable rapper. If you was talking about sales, he’s sold more than everybody. If you were talking about rhyme style, okay he got a rhyme style. But he’s white. He’s white! So now if Eminem was another n***a like all the rest of us, would he be Top 5 on that list when a n**a that could rhyme just as good as him is 35? That had records and all that? He’s 35. He’s white.”

Meanwhile, the “In Da Club” rapper also said that Marshall’s impacted the genre more than Jay-Z. Well, technically he just disagreed with Jamal Crawford’s take on that debate after he sided with Jay in his podcast. “That’s why my five, the dominance outweighs the number,” the former NBA player remarked to Shaq. “Like, JAY-Z’s effect on Hip Hop is bigger than any album sales that Eminem will have, you see what I’m saying? Twitter lit on fire after Melle Mel said that Eminem’s only considered a top five rapper because he’s white. “Obviously, he’s a capable rapper. If we was talkin’ about sales, he sold more than everybody, if you talkin’ about rhyme style, okay, he got a rhyme style. But he’s white! He’s white!” said Mel. “So now, if Eminem was just another n***a like all the rest of us, would he be Top 5 on that list? When a n***a that can rhyme just as good as him is [No.] 35? That had records and all that. He’s 35. He’s white.”

After Mel made these comments, people took to social media to vehemently disagree or dig at Marshall even further. Also, some took the Furious Five member’s lead on what things might look like if other rappers were white. “And the point is this: if I was white, n***a, I’d be greater than [Elvis Presley]. N***a be like, ‘Melle Mel is greater than Elvis. Melle Mel is the greatest white man that has ever lived. He came up with a culture, he was a part of a culture that changed the whole world. That is a great ass white man right there.’ But I’m not white. I’m one of the n***as.”

“So, you know, anybody can be as mad as they want,” he continued. “They can feel how they wanna feel. Eminem’s Stunt Double Ryan Shepard Dead After Car Crash

Eminem’s stunt double Ryan Shepard passed away in January in Washington following a car accident. Moreover, his brother Kyle told TMZ that an oncoming pickup truck hit Ryan as he tried to cross the street. While emergency responders rushed him to a hospital, they were unable to save him. The late Shepard was 40 years old and is survived by his two children, aged 7 and 11. After his work with Marshall Mathers, he worked at Disney as a mechanical ride engineer and moved to SpaceX as a test automation engineer.

Furthermore, Ryan acted as the Detroit rapper’s stunt double during the 2000s on multiple occasions. For example, he worked on his various visual projects, including films and music videos. Also, he appeared as a photo double and stand-in. Readers may remember Em’s 2002 MTV Movie Awards performance of “Without Me,” during which Shepard played superhero alter-ego Rap Boy. In addition, Ryan joined the “Lose Yourself” star for his Anger Management tour in 2002. Following that, he also participated in shows in Japan and Europe the next year. Also, he appeared in the music video for D12’s “Purple Hills” as Slim Shady’s double.

Meanwhile, Eminem spoke on his legacy and his many collaborators during his Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction speech. ““I realize what an honor it is right now for me to be up here tonight,” he stated during his speech. “What a privilege it is to do the music that I love– the music that basically saved my life. I almost died from an overdose in 2007, which kind of sucked because — Hailie, plug your ears — because drugs were f**king delicious. And I thought we had a good thing going, man, but I had to go and f**k it all up and take too many.”

While MCs get most of the praise for their careers, they stand on the shoulders of thousands of unnamed collaborators. Whether it’s producers, set designers, caterers, assistants, executives, or more, those connections aren’t easily forgotten. Eminem Responds To 50 Cent’s “Get Rich Or Die Tryin’” 20th Anniversary

Eminem recently shouted out 50 Cent for his classic Get Rich Or Die Tryin’ celebrating its 20th anniversary. As hip-hop history documents, Marshall Mathers played an instrumental role in the Queens rappers’ career. Since their first collaborations around the start of the 2000s, the two kept a prominent friendship and rapport. As Fif celebrated his career longevity with this occasion, Em took to Twitter to give his own shoutout. Moreover, he responded to a Shady Records tweet commemorating the release. “‘Y’all know what time it is, soon as 50 signs on this dot,’” Em wrote, referencing his verse on the album cut “Patiently Waiting.” “20 years!!!??? @50cent.”

Of course, 50’s reciprocated much of the love and support that the Detroit legend gave him. Recently he called him, Em, and Dr. Dre the “three-headed monster” of hip-hop. Furthermore, he made the assessment in a post where he featured an interview clip of the three around Get Rich‘s release. “When you have a team like this it’s hard to lose,” the 47-year-old captioned his post. “I’m so blessed to have worked with the best ever. you can re-write a book, you can re -write a song but you can’t re-write history. The 3 headed monster EM, DRE and 50cent. Boom.”

Moreover, Dre spoke glowingly of the album in that interview clip. “50’s album, in my opinion, is going to compete with all the classic hip-hop records that have come out over the last 10 years — Illmatic, The Chronic, Ready to Die, The Marshall Mathers LP — it’s right up there,” the legendary producer stated. “And that’s no bulls**t … It’s hot!.” The West Coast rap pioneer produced many tracks on Get Rich including “In Da Club,” “If I Can’t,” and “Back Down.” Also, Eminem gave an additional guest performance on the song “Don’t Push Me.”

Eminem Rejected $8 Million Offer To Perform At World Cup

Slim Shady’s one of the most successful and profitable names in hip-hop, but even he missed out on some major bags sometimes. In a recent interview with Big Boy’s Neighborhood, 50 Cent revealed that Eminem rejected an $8 million offer to perform at last year’s World Cup. Moreover, the offer came after the two performed alongside Mary J. Blige, Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre, and Kendrick Lamar at the 2022 Super Bowl Halftime Show.

According to Fif, organizers of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar reached out to his and Eminem’s teams to sign the on to perform.

“Because of the Super Bowl, I got an inquiry about the World Cup,” the Queens mogul stated. “They had a budget of $9 million for it. So they was gonna give— I would have took one, Big. Then the other eight would have been for Em.”

Meanwhile, 50 said that if anybody was interested in a one-and-done, they’d do “the biggest live sporting event in the world.” If the FIFA World Cup won’t cut it, what could?

Still, once they made the offer, 50 Cent called Em’s manager Paul Rosenberg to talk it over. Ultimately, they turned it down. While it seems likely, there’s no telling whether the news got directly to the “Lose Yourself” rapper.

“I called and spoke to Paul and everybody around him,” 50 said. “They was like, ‘He’s not gonna do it.’”

However, they didn’t show such hesitation when discussing a TV show adaptation of Eminem’s hit movie, 8 Mile. 

“I wanna bring — I’m gonna bring 8 Mile to television,” Fif stated. Also, he told Big Boy that the prospect is already “in motion.”

“It’s gonna be big,” he went on to state. “I’m working. I ain’t got no duds. I’m batting 10… I think it should be there for [Eminem’s] legacy because it’s important to me that they understand it.”
