Machine Gun Kelly Plots His Revenge On Pete Davidson For His ‘SNL’ Impression

This past weekend’s Kim Kardashian-hosted episode of Saturday Night Live was eventful. A major part of that was due to references to Kardashian’s famous connections, like when she joked about her Kanye West divorce in the opening monologue. The sketch in which she played her sister Kourtney in a judge TV show called The People’s Kourt was a goldmine for cultural references and connections, even outside of Kardashian’s realm.

For example, there was a scene where Pete Davidson impersonated his good friend (and recent SNL musical guest) Machine Gun Kelly. In the sketch, Davidson and Chloe Fineman (playing Megan Fox) poke fun at Kelly and Fox’s frequent and intense PDA with a tongue-entwining kissing display.

Naturally, Kelly caught wind of the sketch and started plotting his revenge. In a tweet tagging Saturday Night Live, Kelly re-shared a clip of Davidson’s impression and wrote, “i think it’s time for me to come on the show as Pete.”

Meanwhile, a month ago, Davidson revisited a moment from Kelly’s aforementioned SNL appearance, when he and Kelly fell off the stage together during the episode’s closing credits. Davidson explained to Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show that Kelly tried to pick him up, which, due to an injury Kelly was going with, didn’t exactly work out.

Kim Kardashian Turns Into A Judge And Rules On Family Drama On ‘SNL’

With Saturday Night Live’s 47th season underway, Kim Kardashian assumed the duty of host for its most recent episode. She began the night with an entertaining monologue that was received well by audience members. Later on in the night, Kim returned to participate in a courtroom sketch that found her taking the role of a judge while simultaneously playing her sister, Kourtney Kardashian. In the sketch, Kim somewhat delivers decisions on family matters which includes Kylie Jenner’s “overdue” baby, Kendall Jenner’s lack of drama, and Kanye West’s tweets.

In the sketch, Kris Jenner and Khloe Kardashian appear as themselves while other SNL cast members and guests assumed the role of Kardashian family members and friends. Halsey appeared as Kendall Jenner, Melissa Villaseñor as Kylie Jenner, Heidi Gardner as Kim Kardashian, and Mikey Day played Travis Barker. Chris Redd also appeared as Kanye West, Pete Davidson as Machine Gun Kelly, and Chloe Fineman as Megan Fox. All in all, it was an enjoyable sketch that poked fun at the Kardashian family and their friends.

Kim’s monologue was highlighted by her making jokes about her and Kanye West’s divorce earlier this year. “I mean, I married the best rapper of all time. Not only that, he’s the richest Black man in America, a talented, legit genius, who gave me four incredible kids,” she says. “So when I divorced him, you have to know it came down to just one thing: his personality.”

Machine Gun Kelly Says His ‘Born With Horns’ Album Will Be ‘More Guitar-Heavy’ And Lyrically ‘Deeper’

Machine Gun Kelly has found great success since he fully pivoted into the punk-rock lane with his 2020 album, Tickets To My Downfall. The project, which arrived after his rap-rock album, Hotel Diablo, became his first No. 1 album and his first Platinum-selling album. While some, like Slipknot’s Corey Taylor, are not too fond of his position in the rock world, Kelly is content on journeying further into the genre with his upcoming album, Born With Horns.

According to Billboard, during a recent interview on Sunday Today With Willie Geist, Kelly revealed what fans can expect on the new project, which features work with Travis Barker.

“It feels more guitar-heavy for sure, lyrically it definitely goes deeper – but I never like to do anything the same,” Kelly said. “Every album is a juxtaposition of the last album. So I went and studied ‘Tickets [To My Downfall]’, and I heard the bright sound that I had, and for this album I just turned the lights off.”

He added, “I’m not scared anymore, there’s nothing holding me back from being my true self – and my true self can’t be silenced, can’t be restrained. It’s a force, it’s like a hurricane. Can’t stop that, it just goes until it feels like stopping, and I don’t feel like stopping anytime soon.”

Kelly shared “Papercuts,” the lead single for Born With Horns, back in August with a Cole Bennett-directed video that featured an appearance from Travis Barker.

The entirety of Kelly’s interview on Sunday Today With Willie Geist premieres will air Sunday at 8 AM EST on NBC.

Machine Gun Kelly Was Booed And Flipped Off During His Performance At The Louder Than Life Festival

Machine Gun Kelly has certainly had his high moments this year. The rapper-turned-rocker recently performed “Papercuts” with Travis Barker at the 2021 MTV VMAs where he also took home an award for Best Alternative Song thanks to “My Ex’s Best Friend,” MGK’s collaboration with Blackbear. He also announced his sixth album, Born With Horns , which will also be produced by Travis Barker.

With that being said, MGK has also endured his fair share of controversial moments in 2021 and the latest came during his Louder Than Life festival when fans booed and flipped him off during his set. There was seemingly nothing in particular that MGK did during the performance to upset fans, but seeing that the festival is one filled with rockers, this moment could have to do with MGK and Slipknot’s Corey Taylor’s growing beef, which began when Taylor expressed his distaste for MGK.

“I hate everything. I hate all new rock for the most part,” Taylor said. “I [hate] the artists who failed in one genre and decided to go rock — and I think he knows who he is. But that’s another story.”

MGK shot back and mocked Taylor during his Riot Festival performance.

“Hey, you wanna know what I’m really happy that I’m not doing? Being 50 years old and wearing a f*cking weird mask on a f*cking stage.” MGK later added that Taylor delivered a verse for his Tickets To My Downfall album, but it was left off because “it was f*cking terrible.”

Taylor then returned to deny the singer’s claim and he provided evidence to prove that MGK was wrong. He shared a pair of screenshots that captured a conversation between Barker and Taylor in which the former says he and MGK “love” the song, which turned out to be “Can’t Look Back,” and proposed a few changes to improve the record. In response, Taylor politely steped away from the collaboration, noting that he felt like he wasn’t the “right guy for the track.”

Machine Gun Kelly Has Written A Graphic Novel Called ‘Hotel Diablo’ Based On His Album

After trying out acting and swapping hip-hop for punk-rock, Machine Gun Kelly is adding another job to his growing resume: Comic book writer. MGK has written a new graphic novel titled after his album Hotel Diablo, which is set for release through Z2 Comics on September 28. His collaborators on the project include artists Amilcar Pinna, Martin Morazzo, Nelson Blake II, Rachel Smartt, Roberta Ingranata, and Victor Ibañez, as well as writers Eliot Rahal and Ryan Candy, with editor Chris Robinson. You can preorder here. It comes in softcover, hardcover, and deluxe editions (a super deluxe edition is sold out) which features an exclusive vinyl reissue of the album for which the comic is named.

An excerpt from the comic, which is an anthology detailing the afterlives of guests at the titular hotel, was published in Rolling Stone today, revealing one of the ghoulish tales within. It follows a new front desk clerk named Lidia Lopez, who discovers something very unusual in one of the guest’s rooms, sparking what looks like a memory but casting doubt on her entire existence.

Z2, which specializes in collaborating with musicians, is also putting out Vince Staples’ Limbo Beach and has previously worked with Czarface, Gorillaz, Flatbush Zombies, and Rico Nasty from the hip-hop world, as well as rock legends like Anthrax, Blondie, Joan Jett, and Sublime.

Hotel Diablo is due 9/28. You can preorder it here.

Corey Taylor Refutes Machine Gun Kelly’s Explanation Of Why A Slipknot Collaboration Didn’t Work Out

In recent days, Machine Gun Kelly and Slipknot’s Corey Taylor have found themselves embroiled in some beef. The pair traded words, with Taylor dissing Kelly on a podcast and Kelly returning fire on stage at Riot Fest, while Slipknot was performing on a different stage at the fest at the same time. Then Kelly gave his version of the reason why he and Taylor have beef, with Kelly claiming, “corey did a verse for a song on tickets to my downfall album, it was f*cking terrible, so i didn’t use it. he got mad about it, and talked sh*t to a magazine about the same album he was almost on.”

However, Taylor refutes that story and says things went differently, producing screenshots of emails to bolster his case.

On Twitter last night, Taylor explained, “I don’t like people airing private sh*t like a child. So this is all I’ll say: I didn’t do the track because I don’t like when people try to ‘write’ for me. I said NO to THEM. So without further ado…. #receipts. This is all I’m going to say about it.”

The “receipts” in questions are screenshots of two emails: One from Kelly collaborator Travis Barker to Taylor, then Taylor’s response. Barker passed along notes on the song from Kelly, who proposed some changes to the song they were collaborating on. The song, by the way, is “Can’t Look Back,” which was released (without contributions from Taylor) on deluxe versions of Tickets To My Downfall.

Then, in Taylor’s response, he politely noted that he didn’t think he was the right collaborator for the song, writing, “Do I listened to the ideas and to be honest, I don’t think I’m the right guy for the track. Nothing persona, I just think if this is what MGK is looking for, someone else is the guy to do it. It’s ALL good, and I’m stoked for him- I hope you guys find the right fit for it. Hope you understand and I wish you guys the best with it. If I can help in any way, let me know.”

Machine Gun Kelly Explains The Real Reason Slipknot Has Beef With Him

Machine Gun Kelly (Colson Baker) isn’t afraid to pick a fight, as his past beef with Eminem has made abundantly clear. But he’s also never shied away from setting the record straight when necessary. At this weekend’s Riot Fest, the pop-punk/rap star was roasting Slipknot during his set, taking aim at Corey Taylor and co. after the metal band’s frontman took shots at him on a recent podcast.

The full rundown: Taylor says on Cutter’s Rockast that he hates MGK: “I’m the worst old fogey dude shaking his cane ever. I hate everything. I hate all new rock for the most part. I [hate] the artists who failed in one genre and decided to go rock — and I think he knows who he is. But that’s another story.

At Riot Fest, MGK mocks Slipknot: “Hey, you wanna know what I’m really happy that I’m not doing? Being 50 years old and wearing a f*cking weird mask on a f*cking stage.”

But after numerous media outlets picked up his stage trash talk today, Baker wanted to let the public know what was really going on. So now MGK has finally spilled the tea, the real reason Corey was even mouthing off about him in the first place. “corey did a verse for a song on tickets to my downfall album, it was f*cking terrible, so i didn’t use it,” he wrote on Twitter. “he got mad about it, and talked shit to a magazine about the same album he was almost on. yalls stories are all off.
just admit he’s bitter.”

The plot thickens… and I highly doubt this will be the end of it. Stay tuned.
