Lil Uzi Vert has never shied away from change, like when they had that $24 million pink diamond embedded in their forehead. Now, the rapper has unveiled another personal shift, this one related to their identity.
Over the weekend, fans started noticing that Uzi’s listed pronouns on their Instagram profile were now “they/them.” The rapper has yet to make any sort of public statement about their pronouns or gender identity beyond that. Notably (although perhaps coincidentally), the change was made just after International Non-Binary People’s Day, which was observed on July 14.

Whatever the case may be, Uzi has often shown they’re a supporter of the LGBTQ+ community. In the summer of 2019, for example, they hopped on Instagram and shared a photo of themself in a Nike pride flag shirt, with matching colorful shoes, all in front of a rainbow-colored backdrop.
This comes shortly after Uzi announced their new Red & White EP, a prelude to the upcoming The Pink Tape. In May, they also said of their upcoming material, “This time less talkin’ more working. Going back in classic mode. I been [through] 2 much this time around. Nothin’ can break me.”

Lil Uzi Vert was at Yo Gotti’s Birthday Bash 8 on Friday as a surprise performer, but before he took the stage, he released a new single to his fans on SoundCloud. Lil Uzi Vert dropped “Space Cadet” from his forthcoming Red & White EP as a SoundCloud exclusive for his fans.
Lil Uzi Vert, one of the most streamed artists on SoundCloud ever, teased the EP to followers on Instagram before dropping the surprise early today morning.
The now Grammy nominated star began his career on SoundCloud and has since utilized the service to share a number of significant occasions with his devoted fan base. Fans’ support caused Uzi to win the titles of “most-followed artist” on the platform in 2016 and “top artist” in 2017, with some of the most well-liked songs on the platform including “XO TOUR Llif3,” “Money Longer,” and “The Way Life Goes.” He celebrated the victories with a close-knit live performance for his most devoted followers at a SoundCloud showcase.

Lil Uzi Vert recently announced his Red & White EP which is set to be a prelude to his upcoming project, The Pink Tape. The rapper did not share a release date for Red & White, but many believed it would arrive on Friday. Unfortunately, that day came and went without the project’s release. However, Uzi still managed to treat his fans to new music thanks to the release of his latest single, “Space Cadet.” The record is a high-octane release that broadcasts Uzi’s trademark energy as he flexes his status while professing his desire to blast off into space on his own terms.
The Red & White EP will be Uzi’s first overall project since Pluto X Baby Pluto, his late 2020 joint project with Future. The EP will also be his first solo project since LUV Vs. The World 2, which doubled as the deluxe edition of his 2020 album Eternal Atake. We could be in for some great music on the Red & White EP as Uzi previously said that he would “go back into classic mode” for the upcoming releases he has for fans.

The last time we received a project from Lil Uzi Vert was at the end of 2020 when he and Future joined forces for Pluto X Baby Pluto. His last solo release was LUV Vs. The World 2, which doubled as the deluxe edition of his 2020 album Eternal Atake. Over the years, Uzi has teased multiple projects, but only now has he delivered a sold release date on one. On Tuesday night, Uzi took to his Instagram page to announce his upcoming Red & White EP. He even shared the artwork for the project to boost anticipation for it.
In the caption for the project’s announcement, Uzi wrote, “Red & White Ep …. Before The P!NK.” That’s a reference to Uzi’s long-awaited The Pink Tape which he first announced towards the end of 2021. He originally said the project would arrive just in time for Halloween last year, citing that it was in the mixing process at the time. However, a short time later, he revealed that the project would be delayed so “it won’t suck.” Since then, we haven’t heard much about the project, but Uzi did promise recently that he is “going back to classic mode” for his next releases, so hopefully, it starts with Red & White.

Lil Uzi Vert is facing backlash for throwing a phone into the crowd, and injuring a concert goer during his performance at the U.K. Wireless Festival. A woman claims the phone hit her on the top of her head leaving her forehead bloody. In a video posted on Tiktok, she is seen being escorted by security through the crowd.

The Shade Room reported, a source close to the situation said fans threw multiple phones on stage accidentally hitting the 26-year-old rapper and he was only trying to clear the phones from the stage to avoid slipping so he could keep performing. “He [Uzi] never intentionally directed it at a specific individual.”
