Lil Durk’s Concert Was Allegedly Ended After A False Active Shooter Report Was Made, Causing Mass Panic For Concertgoers

Lil Durk’s Sorry For The Drought Tour hasn’t been the triumph he intended it to be. Due to health concerns, the rapper reportedly decided to scale back his massive performance schedule in July, which resulted in several canceled stops across the country. But he was sure to keep his hometown of Chicago, Illinois, on the roster for a ceremonious homecoming show ahead of the release of Almost Healed Deluxe. Alas, his return to the Windy City on Saturday, August 12, ended in mayhem.

According to TMZ, Lil Durk’s concert, held at the United Center, was allegedly cut short due to a false report of an active shooter. The outlet claims that local authorities urged immediate evacuation. But as fans began to flee from the ground level of the arena, panic began to spread throughout the entire facility.

In video clips captured by concertgoers, concertgoers ran out in fear of the situation. Others, though, began to loot the merchandise stands before making their way to the nearest exit.

After the concert, Lil Durk took to Instagram to share a message about the show. Although he did not address the active shooter allegations, he let fans know he wasn’t upset with the looters. “Don’t believe the hype. We are bigger than big. Thank you, Chicago. Till next time. And who all stole the merchandise, tag me so I can repost y’all crazy ass,” wrote Durk.

Lil Durk Makes Ring Walk with Jake Paul, Announces ‘Almost Healed’ Deluxe

Lil Durk Ring Walk with Jake Paul, Announces 'Almost Healed' Deluxe

Jake Paul arrived in style, having Lil Durk walk out with him for his boxing match with Nate Diaz. Durkio used the big stage to reveal the Almost Healed deluxe edition would be arriving in August.

During his entrance, Durkio wrote a white tee with red letters revealing “Almost Healed Deluxe Augst.”

The ring walk was one of the first appearances since Lil Durk canceled numerous tour dates and is leaving behind festival appearances that would pay him $750,000. According to Akademiks, this happens as the rapper focuses on his health and not due to low ticket sales.

“Since I’m still awaiting to get full clearance from my doctors to travel and perform again, I have no other choice but to cancel my headlining Rolling Loud performance,” Durk wrote. “While I’m home resting, I am looking forward to my two homecoming shows on the 11th and 12th in Chicago. For the rest of the country, I’ll be announcing new dates soon. #StillHealing.”

In July, Durkio was in the hospital after suffering from severe dehydration and exhaustion.

According to TMZ Hip-Hop, Durk fell ill in Ohio and checked into a hospital on July 6. His trip to the hospital was for safety, but doctors assessed his condition as a bit more serious.

“My fans mean everything to me, you’re the reason why I do this,” Durk said at the time. “I was looking forward to touching all of my European fans, performing this week(end), attending the ESPYs and more but after performing and traveling daily I’ve become severely dehydrated and advised by my doctors not to travel due to exhaustion. Once I get my full energy back, it’s back to business which I’m looking forward to. #StillHealing.”

Jake Paul Had Lil Durk Walk Him Out Before His Fight, So The Rapper Used It To Give An Update On The ‘Almost Healed’ Deluxe Album

In July, Eminem surprised fans when he joined boxer Terence Crawford during his ring walkout for his fight against Errol Spence Jr. On Saturday, August 5, Lil Durk accompanied Jake Paul in Dallas at the American Airlines Center for his stroll before he faced Nate Diaz. The pair used Durk’s latest single, “All My Life,” featuring J. Cole, as the soundtrack to their strut.

As Durk’s song played over the speakers, the rapper used the camera time to his benefit, updating fans on the deluxe version of his latest album, Almost Healed. The shirt he bore words, written in large red capitalized letters similar to the album’s featured font, that confirmed the album would be released sometime this month.

In the fan-captured video of the entrance, Durk emerged wearing his t-shirt before Paul appeared from behind the curtains.

For weeks Durk has told fans that the extended version of the album will eclipse the work he did on the original recording. On July 13, he took to X (formerly Twitter) to write, “Almost Healed Deluxe should of been the main album painnnnnnnnn🏆🤲🏾❤️‍🩹.”

After Durk canceled multiple dates of his Sorry For The Drought Tour due to a health scare, former ticketholders hoped the new edition would compensate for the nixed live shows.

Lil Durk Canceled Multiple Dates On His ‘Sorry For The Drought Tour’ After A Health Scare

It’s a bad week for tour news. Just a day after Lil Baby unceremoniously dumped several dates from his upcoming It’s Only Us Tour — and saw tour opener The Kid Laroi jump ship in turn — Baby’s frequent collaborator Lil Durk has also canceled a slew of upcoming dates, per XXL. While Baby’s cancellations are being blamed on poor ticket sales, though, Durk’s Sorry For The Drought Tour dates were 86ed after the Chicago rapper was hospitalized with “severe dehydration,” according to TMZ. After a week-long stay, he was told not to travel, prompting the cancellations.

In a statement, he said, “My fans mean everything to me, you’re the reason why I do this. I was looking forward to touching all of my European fans, performing this week(end), attending the ESPYs and more but after performing and traveling daily I’ve become severely dehydrated and advised by my doctors not to travel due to exhaustion. Lil Durk Cuts Tour Dates: Report

Hopefully The Voice gets back on his feet soon and has the time to recover and heal properly, which is the most important thing at the end of the day. It’s hard enough for huge artists to tour, and downright impossible when it’s affecting their health. Fans’ disappointment and concern for this news is understandable, as concerts can be a big investment. Still, hopefully they focus on prioritizing Lil Durk’s well-being and not their inability to go to a show.

Meanwhile, Durk recently reflected on how he thought that cutting his hair would end his career. While it may sound ridiculous, image can actually be very important to an artist’s opportunities and appeal. Regardless, his career blossomed into one of the brightest in street rap today, and one that hopefully keeps thriving. For more news and the latest updates on Lil Durk, come back to HNHH.
