Khalid and Normani promised a new collaboration, “Personal,” earlier this week, and today, they’ve delivered. The song is the duo’s second duet since previously joining forces in 2018 on “Love Lies,” which has since been certified 5x Platinum by the RIAA. The mid-tempo song incorporates a staccato, Afrobeats-inspired rhythm, which the two singers use to inform their saucy come-ons. Lyrically, they flatter the objects of their affections with assertions of their gratitude for the love they’ve found.

“Personal” is a strong bounce back for Khalid, who has had a rough couple of weeks after being outed as gay by a former partner. Over the last week, Khalid was betrayed by his former boyfriend. however, the “Heatstroke” singer hasn’t let one person’s jagged actions turn him away from others close to him.

Today (December 1), Khalid announced a reunion supporters have long since begged for. Over on X (formerly Twitter), Khalid revealed that he and Normani has a new collaboration on the way. “Personal. Normani. 12/6 🤫💚,” he wrote.

Khalid didn’t share any further details around the venture. However, considering Khalid dropped his album Sincere in August and Normani’s highly anticipated debut solo project (Dopamine) hit streaming platforms in June, fans believe “Personal” is a one-off song.

The last time Khalid and Normani came together for a single, they cooked up the beloved record “Love Lies.” Since its release in 2018, “Love Lies” has sold 5 million copies which makes it a RIAA-certified 5x platinum record.

During a chat with Billboard, Khalid spoke about their song’s immediate success. “For me, it just says that the song is authentic,” he said. “It’s real, it’s just everything that you hear in the song is the relationship that I share with Normani, and it’s just great. She’s so amazing, she’s so beautiful, and she’s an amazing friend.”

After being spotted at the Missoni’s Womenswear Spring/Summer 2025 fashion show in Milan, Italy this September, it is clear their connection has remained strong. Supporters are hoping their musical music brews up another banger.

Khalid Breaks Silence After Being Publicly Outed By Former Boyfriend

Khalid has quite the Friday. The R&B superstar was outed by a man who claimed to have dated him. The man blasted the singer for being “ugly” and then proceeded to post a picture of them together on social media. Fans were genuinely confused by what occurred, but Khalid decided to be honest. He confirmed that he was gay, and assured everybody that he is proud of it. He decided to hop on Instagram Live a few days later, though, to expand on the unexpected turn of events.

Khalid told followers that he was “bothered” by Hugo Almonte’s comments. Not in terms of outing him, but it terms of painting the singer as an abuser and a manipulator. “All of this is definitely frustrating,” he admitted. I’m not gonna run around like I’m unbothered. I never said I was unbothered by anything. This is very bothering. … I had to say something.” The “something” in question was a rebuttal to Almonte for the accusations. Khalid actually claimed that the situation was reversed, and that Almonte was the one who was abusive and manipulative during their time together.

Khalid Claims His Ex’s Actions Were “Random”

“It’s triggering,” Khalid explained. “It’s triggering because it’s the other way around, and that’s what hurts… It’s just crazy to me regarding the stories of the abuse.” The “Location” singer also stated that he’d never taken drugs with his ex boyfriend, despite Almonte’s claims. “[I’ve] never done cocaine a day in my life,” he assured fans. Khalid also claimed to have been involved with Almonte over four years ago, and has not spoken to him since.

“The last time I talked to this guy was four years ago,” he explained. “This is all random, I don’t know why he did it.” Hugo Almonte has not provided an explanation as to why he outed Khalid, but he has gotten a ton of attention as a result. Rolling Stone reported that Almonte promised to give evidence of the singer’s abusive behavior, and his attempts to “silence” him, but no such evidence has been provided. Khalid has repeatedly told fans that his personal life should not be of importance to fans, and he concluded his IG video by reminding them. “Nobody knew because I don’t want everybody in my business,” he asserted.

Khalid Slams Drug Use And Abuse Allegations After Being Outed By Ex-Boyfriend: ‘It Was The Other Way Around’

Over the weekend, “Heatstroke” singer Khalid was outed by an ex-boyfriend, aspiring singer Hugo D Almonte. But having his sexuality forcibly revealed online was the least upsetting thing in Khalid’s eyes.

Around the same time, Khalid faced several damning accusations including illicit drug use, domestic abuse, and seeking about sex workers to pose as his romantic interest. Today (November 25), Khalid posted a video (viewable here) to X (formerly Twitter) to address the allegations.

“I just wanted to come on and address some things so we can leave it in the past,” he said. “I know I don’t have to, but I feel like it is important for me to speak my side of the situation.”

Khalid first tackled the allegations that he used “pink cocaine,” saying: “I’ve never done cocaine a day in my life. I don’t place myself in those scenarios. I’m not in those surroundings. I [do] smoke week and I drink [alcohol] a little bit. But I’ve never done cocaine a day in my life. For real.”

He then quickly shut down rumors that he hired sex workers or paid people to date him after users online discovered his ex’s OnlyFans account.

Khalid said he ultimately decided to response to the claims because it is “a little triggering seeing the few comments” that “paint him as a manipulative abuser.”

Before the video ended, Khalid addressed the domestic abuse allegations, saying: “It’s triggering because it was the other way around and that’s what hurts the most.”

Hugo D Almonte has not yet replied to Khalid’s statement.

Khalid’s music, especially his latest Sincere album, is deeply personal. Still, the “Ground” singer has maintained a level of privacy regarding his dating life until now.

Yesterday (November 22), Khalid was forcibly outed by his alleged ex-partner on X (formerly Twitter). Aspiring singer Hugo D Almonte accused Khalid of spreading rumors about him in a series of deleted posts (viewable here).

Shortly after his posts, Khalid’s name shot to the top of X’s trending topics tab. Khalid took to his page to confirm his sexuality but didn’t feed into the other chatter posting a rainbow flag. “There y’all go,” he wrote. “Next topic please LOL.”

One user seemed to be unsure about his messaging so they asked others if Khalid was indeed gay, to which he replied: “I am! And that’s okay.”

He then released a full statement, writing: “I got outed and the world still continues to turn. Let’s get this straight (LMAO) I am not ashamed of my sexuality! In reality, it ain’t nobodies business! But I am okay with me. love y’all.”

Khalid’s fans began to show their support for him, referencing his tributes to the LGBTQ community throughout his music, specially his 2022 track “Satellite.”

“Thank you,” he wrote. “I was never hiding.”

Other supporters chimed in to say “coming out” shouldn’t have been difficult to do because many had already assumed his sexual identity. But Khalid shut it down, saying: “I wasn’t hiding anything! It’s just not any of your business.”

Khalid ended his public response with gratitude for his fans, writing: “Aight, love y’all. Thank y’all.”

Khalid didn’t deny a thing. He threw shade at Almonte for outing him to the world, but he admitted that he was a gay man. “I got outted and the world still continues to turn,” he wrote. “Let’s get this straight (lmao) I am not ashamed of my sexuality! In reality it ain’t nobodies business! But I am okay with me 🖤 love y’all.” He then quote tweeted a user who asked why he hadn’t come out sooner. Once again, the singer made a very valid point regarding celebrity privacy. “I wasn’t hiding anything,” Khalid explained. “It’s just none of your business.”

The singer sent one final tweet out to put a button on the situation. He posted a rainbow flag and then humorously asked that fans move on to discussing something else. “There y’all go,” he asserted. “Next topic please lol.” This is the most insight fans have ever gotten into Khalid’s personal life, and it truly is unfortunate that it occurred on someone else’s terms.

Pop and R&B star Khalid is back with his third album, Sincere. The album is his first in five years, since his multi-platinum previous release, Free Spirit. During that time, Khalid stayed somewhat busy musically. He released a mixtape and several singles. He also collaborated with artists like Summer Walker, Victoria Monet, and Tate McRae. Sincere is 16 tracks long and sees Khalid operating primarily as a solo artist. However, it does feature one appearance from Arlo Parks, a burgeoning indie pop artist from the United Kingdom. It is some of his most R&B-oriented music to date, a minor departure from the poppier elements of his younger work. The result is an album that fans of Khalid are praising, a welcome change for the El Paso singer after the more indifferent reception to 2021’s Scenic Drive mixtape.

When speaking to Billboard about Sincere, Khalid said that its release has been a long time coming, and it represents the introduction of a more complete artist with more life experience. “This is the one I have been waiting five years to put out, and this is the one full of music that I’ve been harboring over the past half decade for the perfect moment, and no moment is more perfect,” he told the magazine. Khalid recently opened for Ed Sheeran during part of Sheeran’s Mathematics Tour in 2023. The tour spans over 100 shows and doesn’t end until September 2025. With his latest album release, Khalid announcing his own headlining tour is likely imminent. Khalid Compares Heartache To ‘Heatstroke’ In His Pained New Video

In the video for Khalid’s new Sincere song “Heatstroke,” the lovelorn singer compares heartache to global warming. “Even if we’re fakin’,” he pleads, “Thinkin’ maybe we can save this.” Unfortunately for him, as seen in the song’s metaphorical music video, he’s just deluding himself into avoiding facing the inevitable. In the video, the trappings of a life of comfort go up in flames and Khalid himself finds himself melting down under the heatwave.

Sincere, Khalid’s third studio album, arrived tonight after multiple delays and a rather ironic name change (it was originally title Everything’s Changing, and how true that turned out to be). The 16-song album contains only one guest feature, British singer Arlo Parks, and was preceded by three other singles: “Adore U,” “Please Don’t Fall In Love With Me,” and “Ground.”

While the album’s only been out stateside for less than thirty minutes, international fans (or those with VPNs) have already declared the album a return to form for the Texas singer, who was magnanimous about the praise, but unsurprised by it on social media. “I told yall,” he replied to one effusive fan. “American Teen (but mature) sh*t!!!”
