Top5 Threatens To Shoot Kendrick Lamar If He Ever Goes To Toronto

After Drake paid for Top5’s legal fees to beat a murder case, the Toronto rapper got right back to reverting to his violent ways, at least verbally. Moreover, you’ve probably already heard about how Top5 threatened Drake’s opponent, Kendrick Lamar, during a recent livestream. Now, he’s doubling down on his promises of violence thanks to a recent appearance on Late Night With Liyah Mai, during which he threatened to hit K.Dot with a drive-by shooting if he ever crosses into Toronto. Of course, this is pretty much the worst way in which this feud could’ve evolved, so we pray that these are empty threats for everyone’s sake.

“Tell him come to Toronto. Swiss cheese,” Top5 said of Kendrick Lamar. “I’ll get the low, put on my Nike tech black, tell YG get us a driver, put the window down and get some fresh air. How disrespectful are y’all to ask me about Kendrick Lamar? Drake’s a bad boy. There’s a girl right there, you want [her] to get you? Don’t disrespect my homie Drake like that.” Mai proposed that Kendrick beat Drizzy in their battle, which made Top5 very angry.

“I’m looking for Metro Boomin and Kendrick Lamar,” Top5 previously threatened on a livestream with Adin Ross and DJ Akademiks. “I’m doing my homework right now, I’m doing my task on them. Nothing incriminating, I’m just looking for them. I want Metro Boomin one on one. I don’t want no weapons, nothing. I’d knock him the f**k out. Kendrick Lamar, you passed the border. Chubbs called me. I will quit rapping if Kendrick Lamar goes to [the Toronto restaurant] New Ho King without 20 police officers […] You’re crazy for testing my gangster. You see what happened to DJ Drama?

“Me and Drake are gonna link up in a couple of days and we’re gonna do this podcast, and we’re gonna play the ‘Not Like Us’ video and we’re gonna look at every n***a in the video and we’re gonna do homework,” Top5 continued. “We’re gonna look for them n***as. I don’t f**k around, play around ’bout Aubrey, that’s my bro. My Jewish brother, shalom.” Hopefully Kendrick Lamar’s friends aren’t serious about their retorts, either…

Drake Airs Out Fake Friends At Toronto Club After Future, Rick Ross & Kendrick Lamar Battle

Drake has some things to get off his chest. He recently pulled up to the Nostalgia nightclub in Toronto to have a good time, and even grabbed the mic to share some words as the crowd talked over him. Of course, you probably didn’t even need to read this headline to take a guess at what the 6ix God was talking about. Whether it’s long-standing on-and-off-again rivalries like The Weekend, blindsided switch-ups like Future, or his contentious cold war with Kendrick Lamar, he has a lot of “fake friends” to air out scathingly within the hip-hop industry and even beyond.

“One things about nostalgia, this party here?” Drake’s rant began. “My real friends are definitely in the building. But I’m going to tell you. You’re going to come to a point in life where people you thought were friends or people you thought were close to you, they might switch up. They might try to move funny with you. They might stab you in the back, they might do a lot of things to you. You’ll come to that realization, wherever you’re at in life. You’ve probably been there and you’ll be there again, that’s how life is. But look, sometimes, it’s you and you alone by yourself. Sometimes it’s you alone with your thoughts.”

Drake’s Rant

However, not every open wound in Drake’s life is getting lemon squeezed over it right now. Kanye West recently thanked Drake at his show in China for writing the chorus to “Yikes.” Their rivalry has also taken a lot of twists and turns over the years, and we doubt that process is over. With that in mind, even though this looks nice, we doubt that the Toronto superstar took it kindly.

Even LeBron James is allegedly anti-OVO these days, a speculative theory that both Drake himself and his hardcore fans are making mountains out of molehills with. Yet this new rant begs a question. Will we ever really find out what happened behind the scenes with all these industry relationships? We have no idea, but odds are that fans will theorize over this for decades to come.

Kendrick Lamar Officially Submits “Not Like Us” For Grammys 2025 Consideration

Grammys season is upon us, and we already have a list of artists who have submitted their work for consideration at the 2025 awards ceremony. There’s Nicki Minaj with her Pink Friday 2 efforts, Beyoncé with COWBOY CARTER, Megan Thee Stallion’s MEGAN era, Doja Cat with Scarlet 2 CLAUDE… and Kendrick Lamar off of the strength of his sheer “biggest hater” title. Moreover, he submitted “Not Like Us” – and “Like That” alongside Future and Metro Boomin – for multiple categories, including Record/Song of the Year and Best Rap Song/Performance. In the case of the West Coast banger, it’s also up for Best Music Video.

With all that said, someone go hand him a Grammy right now! The Kendrick Lamar and Drake beef remains a very relevant discussion in hip-hop, even if the details these days comprise of petty IG unfollows, chart records, and a whole lot of new album speculation. It’s clear that we’ve moved on from the possibility of a Round 2 (or have we?), and that K.Dot will likely focus on other wider endeavors for his next moves and efforts.

Kendrick Lamar Opens His Mouth

After all, he has a Super Bowl halftime show performance to think about, too. Back to these awards, let’s clarify these Grammys submissions real quick. These aren’t nominations: think of it as a play-in tournament where committees pick between artists’ submissions and decide on the final roster of nominees, which they then deliberate over and vote on to pick a winner. We can’t help but wonder what OVO goons would prefer: a golden gramophone-less night for Kendrick Lamar whether in the nomination or award sense, or a win for him so they can call Drake a prophet for that one “Family Matters” line?

Either way, we’re hesitant to call this Kendrick Lamar’s final victory lap, only because that’s what many folks said about The Pop Out, the “Not Like Us” music video… You get it. Maybe he even sneaks a Drake jab into his upcoming movie. But whether or not this feud is finally over or still has legs, it’s undeniable that the merits of both “Not Like Us” and “Like That” are worthy of the Grammys’ praise far beyond its fighting words.

Adin Ross Walks Back Los Angeles Beef After Receiving Threats From Kendrick Lamar Affiliates

It looks like Adin Ross got some pretty important phone calls. He recently expressed online that he would like to extend an apology to Los Angeles for beefing with some of Kendrick Lamar’s affiliates and disrespecting the city in many’s eyes. For those unaware, the streamer lashed back against K.Dot’s supposed friends that threatened him, saying that they would press him if they ever saw him in their city. A lot of folks reacted in ridiculous fashion, but many of them also expressed fear that things could actually turn violent. Fortunately, it seems like we’re at a cool-down point now, although Ross made it clear that his apologetic remarks are to the city, not to the individuals that he beefed with.

“Guys, I’ve been talking to people from L.A.,” Adin Ross began. “I’m actually coming to L.A. in about probably, like, a couple of weeks. Don’t put ‘GGs’ in the chat. Probably coming in a couple of weeks. Going to probably do some Horror Nights streams, going to go around, do a couple of podcasts, stuff like that. But I do want to clarify and take a step back. In the moment, obviously, I was talking crazy and s**t. I’m not necessarily apologizing to people I was talking towards. But I do want to say one thing: L.A. is to not be f***ed with. L.A. is a serious place, and I love L.A. Seriously, I love L.A. Now, I’m not folding. I still say ‘F**k you’ to the people that were coming at me. F**k you.

Adin Ross Apologizes To L.A., But Not His Enemies

“But I’m not saying ‘F**k you’ to all of L.A.,” Adin Ross continued. “‘Cause, I’m not even joking, bro. People that are in a certain amount of groups, rappers – specifically the rapper you guys know I’m talking about. You guys like to pedestal a bunch of these rappers. Bro, L.A. is deeper than that, bro. There’s a lot of dangerous people in L.A. that don’t even talk on the Internet. They don’t even care about the Internet. People don’t talk on the Internet. So I’m never trying to disrespect L.A. I love L.A., bro, I love L.A. Probably the best – I love California, bro. The weather is the best there, you know? I love Los Angeles. The issue is – and I don’t live there anymore. I’m not folding, I’m really not.

“It’s still ‘F**k you’ to the people that I was talking to,” Adin Ross concluded. “The problem was that I was saying that I’m going to go there, and L.A. not on s**t. L.A. is on s**t, for real. I don’t want anyone taking me serious. I’m a f***ing nerdy white streamer kid, alright? So, none of you guys take me seriously, please. Now, it’s still ‘F**k you’ to the people that were still coming at me on that podcast. F**k you, ’cause you guys aren’t on s**t. I did the whole background research on all you guys. You guys are fat, low-life losers. Big b***hes. I’m not folding for s**t, bro. Now, as far as L.A. goes, I love and respect L.A. And there’s real, real, serious people out in L.A. We love L.A., my chat loves L.A., and that’s that, bro. I will be there soon.”

ASAP Bari Says “It Can Never Be Over For Drake” After Kendrick Lamar Battle

At this point, any mention of the Kendrick Lamar and Drake battle this year probably sounds nauseating to you. But folks continue to debate and discuss it with a lot of fervor, especially now that we are seeing the outcome of it play out. Some fans just wanted a great lyrical exchange, others demanded proof and for whoever was the most “right” or “correct” to win, and a select few wanted the winner to destroy the loser’s career. That last possibility was never a reasonable end scenario either way, and during an appearance on the No Funny S**t program, ASAP Bari said that it’s not over for Drake.

“Nah, it can never be over for Drake. Drake is Drake,” A$AP Bari posited. “Hell no, hell no. It can never be over for Drake, honestly. I just feel like – Well, I was mad at the point of, like… I feel like, you know, if you gon’ start some s**t, finish it, you feel me? But that’s what we from. We from Harlem, we from New York, just period. You know, I’ma start a fight, I’ma finish it, you feel me? Nah, I feel like it was something that ticked him off and he wasn’t trying to take it that far. You understand?

ASAP Bari On Drake

“But, you know, I don’t think it’s over, you feel me?” A$AP Bari continued. “The fighting ain’t over until you see a n***a fall down, you feel me? So he could probably just be sitting back seeing what’s going on, and the rounds could go back, you feel me? There could be a part two, you feel me? I think they should’ve went down for three rounds. You lost the first round, let’s see what goes the second round, you feel me? Drake is the GOAT, man. Hell no, never over Hov.”

For those unaware, A$AP Bari does have some alleged issues with A$AP Rocky, and we all know how he and Drake feel about each other. But Bari is still correct in assessing that to count the Toronto superstar out entirely is an illusion. Round 2 is out of the question, but he’s enough of a hitmaker to brush a loss off.

The Alchemist Reveals Backstory Behind His Kendrick Lamar “Meet The Grahams” Beat

When the world found out that The Alchemist produced the beat for Kendrick Lamar’s downright terrifying Drake diss, “meet the grahams,” they immediately barraged him with questions about how it came to life. Up to this point, the producer was pretty tight-lipped about the whole situation, only letting off some jokes here and there plus vague remarks on its release. But during a new interview that surfaced online on Thursday (September 26), he went into a little more detail about the haunting song. While there are still plenty of unanswered questions, it’s still exciting to hear this glimpse into one of 2024’s most notable hip-hop moments.

“That was a gospel record. Swear to God,” The Alchemist said of Kendrick Lamar’s six-minute track. “I sent it to him beforehand and he had it for a minute. I heard it when everybody else heard it. It was a trip. Yeah, I was getting a haircut at the studio and it came on the phone. We was listening online, someone was streaming. I thought my phone was bugging. I didn’t know.” We can’t imagine that he knew what that instrumental would become when he sent it to K.Dot.

The Alchemist Speaks On Kendrick Lamar’s “Meet The Grahams”

Elsewhere, Uncle Al had a lot of jokes to respond to incessant questions about the Kendrick Lamar track on Twitter. “Questlove made it known that you weren’t aware Kendrick was going to use your beat for meet the graham’s. Did it bother you that Kendrick did that? Was it okay with you that Questlove gave us that information?” a fan asked. The Alchemist replied with this: “Nah but I was extremely bothered and downright livid when I realized that all these years I did not know that Cap’n Crunch’s full name is Horatio Magellan Crunch.”

What’s more is that we know that The Alchemist feels pretty proud of this beat, and he should. He even played it at a Los Angeles club a couple of months ago, but at least he didn’t let Kendrick Lamar scare us again over it. We can only wonder what other collaborations and possible astonishments they have collecting dust in the vault, only to emerge in unexpected ways.

Meek Mill Doubles Down On His Kendrick Lamar Versus Drake Stance

Meek Mill is one of many artists who have given their take on the Kendrick Lamar and Drake beef without outright participating in it, which is honestly harder than it sounds. After all, most people remember Rick Ross’ hilarious IG roasts of The Boy more than they do his “Champagne Moments” diss track. Nevertheless, Meek’s never been one to take either side ever since “Like That” dropped, instead choosing to praise both artists. “Nah I f**k with drake he cool,” he responded to a fan’s inquiry on Friday (September 20). “Him and Kendrick beef has nothing to do with me I fw k dot too I have all their disses on my playlist right now.”

Of course, this is pretty ironic given Meek Mill’s squashed beef with Drake and his place among the ten rappers that Kendrick Lamar competitively challenged on “Control” 11 years ago. But as he indicated in this latest tweet, he’s just a fan of the back-and-forth hip-hop displays that these two rivals engaged in this year, dropping freestyles of his own for both “euphoria” and “Family Matters.”

Meek Mill Is A Fan, He’s A Fan, He’s A Fan (Of Both Kendrick Lamar & Drake)

But as you probably already know, Meek Mill’s social media presence became much more notable in past months for reasons completely unrelated to the Kendrick Lamar and Drake battle. His alleged connection to the Diddy scandal, whether as an alleged victim or alleged participant, resulted in a lot of jokes, jabs, and attacks that came his way online. “I will personally give you a million dollars if these stories add up in anything weird …” the Philly rapper tweeted frustratedly on Thursday night (September 19). “it’s 2 things we can’t do in the trenches … it’s no way yall know what type of man I am. #cybertruck at 12 tap in lil buddy!”

Meanwhile, as for the Kendrick Lamar and Drake beef, it looks like Meek Mill and the rest of us can finally deem it dead and buried. Now, most of the conversation that puts them in opposition to each other revolves around K.Dot’s Super Bowl halftime show and whether or not this was a direct jab at Young Money. But as far as the bars that Meek and so many of us love, there are no Round 2s.

Charlamagne Tha God Makes Bold Claim About Drake Super Bowl Rumors After Kendrick Lamar Announcement

Charlamagne Tha God and Andrew Schulz – via their Brilliant Idiots podcast – recently spoke on the rumors that Drake has been offered the Super Bowl halftime show before, which were sparked after Kendrick Lamar announced his headlining slot in New Orleans next year and its ensuing Lil Wayne controversy. “And by the way, I hope Drake isn’t doing corny s**t like leaking that, ‘Well, you know, I got offered the Super Bowl a bunch of times and I turned it down,’” Charlamagne kicked his remarks off. “Nobody believes that. I hope Drake isn’t going around saying that. Because why wouldn’t you do the Super Bowl? Of course you would.

“If you took the time to write a rap that says ‘Big as the Super Bowl,’ then you understand the magnitude of the Super Bowl and you would absolutely do the Super Bowl,” Charlamagne Tha God theorized. “I don’t believe that. Let’s just say, hypothetically, he did get offered. That right there dispels all of the Internet rumors about Jay-Z hating on Drake, then. Stupid motherf***ers. ‘Cause everybody was saying, ‘Jay-Z hates Drake, Jay-Z hates Drake.’ So if he offered him the Super Bowl four years in a row and he turned it down, is that hate?

Charlamagne Tha God Speaks On Drake Super Bowl Rumors

“So clearly, Jay-Z’s not hating on nobody,” Charlamagne Tha God continued. “He’s helped Wayne, he’s ‘offered’ Drake the Super Bowl, which I don’t even believe. I don’t believe that happened. But let’s just say hypothetically that he did. [He either offered you the Super Bowl] or he’s hating. He liked the post about Cam saying, ‘I guess Jay was hating.’ He didn’t say Jay, he just said one person is hating, he never said who it was. I saw [Drake] like the post. So if you liked the post – I forgot what site he was on. But if you liked the post and then you turn around and say you’ve been invited to do the Super Bowl and you turned it down? Like, eh.

“Unless he was invited before [Jay-Z became the curator] of the halftime show, but I don’t know,” Charlamange Tha God concluded. “I don’t believe that. Let’s be clear. There was no rap at the Super Bowl halftime shows before Jay-Z. You had very, very, very safe rap artists who hit that stage as part of ensembles. The only one I can remember is Nelly. That’s literally the only one I can remember.”

50 Cent Divulges His Thoughts On Kendrick Lamar Super Bowl Halftime Show & Drake Beef

The world is still talking about all things Kendrick Lamar and Drake, bolstered by the former’s new song and his Super Bowl halftime show announcement. There are many debates on the table: the supposed existence of a “Round 2,” the Lil Wayne controversy, and the general back-and-forth fanbase war between these two artists. One mediator of sorts with ties to both parties is 50 Cent, who previously seemed to take the 6ix God’s side in all this. But during his recent appearance on The Talk as a special guest, he spoke on all of these aspects and made it clear that he’s got a lot of love on both sides of the aisle.

“I mean, it was a choice,” 50 Cent said of Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl slot, which he thinks he fully deserves. “As a solo artist right now, he’s the guy.” In addition, he also stated that he understands why people wanted to see Lil Wayne take the big stage in New Orleans next year. However, Fif proposed that K.Dot should bring out some of his collaborators, hinting that he doesn’t think a Weezy guest spot is out of the question. Of course, Young Money loyalty would probably get in the way of that, but maybe a Drake beef isn’t as big as the Super Bowl.

50 Cent Speaks On Kendrick Lamar & Drake

As for the actual battle between Kendrick Lamar and Drake, 50 Cent called it “good for the culture.” “Both Drake and Kendrick produced quality music faster because they had to compete with each other,” he posited. “That competitive nature made them go work and have responses. Hip-hop is still – it’s not just a genre where you can just make a song and sit back. You have to make a song and be ready to make a song again right away with other artists.”

Meanwhile, Lil Wayne recently gave a statement on this Super Bowl debacle. “It made me feel like s**t not getting this opportunity,” he expressed in a video. “And when I felt like s**t, you guys reminded me that I ain’t s**t without y’all. And that’s an amazing reality. So, like I said, it broke me. And I’m just trying to put me back together. But, my God, have you all helped me. Thanks to all my peers, my friends, my family, my homies on sports television and everybody repping me. I really appreciate that, I really do. I feel like I let all of y’all down by not getting that opportunity. But I’m working on me and I’m working. Thank you.”

Drake Allegedly Couldn’t Help But Laugh About Kendrick Lamar Super Bowl Announcement

With Kendrick Lamar being the official Halftime Show performer at this year’s Super Bowl, there are a lot of angles to this headline. Obviously, the most glaring thing to dissect is that Lil Wayne was not chosen yet again to grace one of the biggest stages in music. People are especially upset given the fact that the championship game is once again in New Orleans (third time in the last 22 years). However, the other way to look at this is, “How will this affect The Boy”? The feud between Drake and Kendrick Lamar has been a major talking point all year for a lot of reasons.

Pretty recently, the Canadian rapper was indirectly offering up a round two to K-Dot. However, the latter seems to be pretty uninterested based on his pretty obvious response in the announcement video. “You know it’s only one opportunity to win a championship. No round two’s“. Since that earth-shattering move, Drizzy has been silent on the matter. But according to MAL of New Rory & MAL podcast, he’s got some tea to spill direct from the source.

Drake Appears To Not Be Bothered About Kendrick Lamar Performing At The Super Bowl

MAL revealed he allegedly spoke with Drake casually, but the Super Bowl announcement came up as well. Rory asked his co-host if he could reveal any of what was said between them; however, MAL went against providing any details. However, what he did say was “A lot of it was just laughing, man. It’s just like ‘word this is what y’all want to see? Like okay’”. Based on what MAL had to say, it seems he’s against the choice and is team Drizzy all the way. His co-hosts argued against MAL’s claims that no one wants to see Lamar, using Nicki Minaj as the example of being the entire internet. Fans in the comment section were quick to roast him for that. “I guess Nicki Minaj is “the whole internet”, one X user replies to the clip.
