NBA fans are criticizing a recent article on Minnesota Timberwolves star Karl-Anthony Towns for going beyond critique. Furthermore, due to its insulting tone and lack of substantive critique, a recent SB Nation essay attacking Towns has drawn outrage from Minnesota Timberwolves supporters.

According to fans, there was a great example of unfair and poor criticism and writing in an SB Nation column by Abe Beame that was published on Tuesday, titled “An ode to Karl-Anthony Towns, the most annoying guy in the NBA.” Good sports writers will strive to be fair and avoid unwarranted and unnecessary criticisms. Fans say that Beame was not fair and reveled in unnecessary and personal criticism towards Towns. Overall, the piece has been derided by fans as an attempt to tear down a player for no real reason.

Fans are saying that the sports writing was subpar, without any of the components that elevate a column. Yes, it was critical, but it wasn’t about anything significant. Jordyn Woods even previewed a new song that is dedicated to her man.

“4 years with my Bestfriend. here’s a snippet of a song I wrote for him ,” wrote Woods on IG along with a video of the couple’s many outings together throughout their relationship. The unpublished song “Be With You” was utilized for the video, although it’s unclear when the singer would release the full-length version. Karl Towns is about to face off against the Dallas Mavericks in the Western Conference Finals, but first, he and his girlfriend Jordyn Woods had to show some serious love to one another.

Karl-Anthony Towns Says Anthony Edwards Will Be “The Next Face Of The NBA”

Karl-Anthony Edwards had high praise for his teammate Anthony Edwards this week, telling ESPN that he believed that Edwards was set to become the “next face of the NBA.” Edwards, drafted first overall in 2020, is putting up 26.3/5.2/5.3 this season as the Timberwolves dominate the Western Conference. Towns, for his part, is averaging 22.5/8.4/2.9 a game as part of the white-hot Minnesota starting five. At the time of writing, Minnesota are 39-16. Despite this, they are locked in a tight battle with the Thunder at the top of the Western Conference standings.

“It brings a smile to all of our faces. He’s one of the top players in the NBA right now. And when you mix that in with his charisma and the personality he has, that’s a huge boost,” Towns explained on First Take. Edwards is coming off the second All-Star nod of his career and is only going to get better as he continues to improve.

Anthony Edwards Gets Huge Fine For Ref Comments

Of course, not everyone is a fan of Edwards. Last month, Anthony Edwards was fined $40K for his derogatory comments aimed at the officiating crew present for the Timberwolves’ win against the Thunder earlier this week. The NBA levied the fine at the young star for “repeatedly publicly criticizing the officiating”. Edwards clearly expected it, saying that he was going to “take the fine” as he went after the refs. Despite the win, Edwards said like Wolves were playing “8-on-5” due to the lack of calls going the team’s way.

However, it’s not the first time that the NBA has gone after Edwards. Last year, he was fined $50K for throwing a chair courtside after the Wolves’ playoff elimination at the hands of the Nuggets. Despite the hefty fine, Edwards did not miss any games due to the incident. A number of staffers unsuccessfully sued Edwards over the incident, claiming to have been injured during the incident. The case was dismissed before going to trial.

Karl Anthony Towns dropped 62 points in a loss to the Charlotte Hornets on Monday Night (Jan. 22). In the postgame press conference, Minnesota Timberwolves coach Chris Finch didn’t care about the 62 points, pointing out an “absolutely disgusting performance of defense and immature basketball.”

According to ESPN, Finch believes the Wolves stopped making the right play to feed the ball to Towns, who had a great start. Towns finished 21-for-35 from the floor and 10-for-15 from three but went cold in the fourth quarter with a 2-for-10 showing that landed him on the bench.

“I mean there’s lots of times when, just because you’ve scored two or three or four points in a row, or baskets in a row … you know obviously we’re going to try to feed a hot hand, look for a hot hand, but at some point we got to get back to making the right play, we got to get back to doing the right things,” Finch said.

Towns added, “Having a night like that on a loss doesn’t feel very good or historic.”

I think you have such a good heart and good energy and, like, to know you is to love you… [so] it is confusing because some of the sh-t you do is f-cking crazy,” Jenner shot back.
