T.I. Announces Plans To Retire After Jingle Ball 2024 Performance

T.I. is a certified legend. His run in the 2000s is one of the best put together by a Southern rapper. If he retired a decade ago, he would still go down as a GOAT candidate to many. And it seems like the notion of packing up is finally sounding good to T.I. based on his recent radio appearance. The rapper went on 96.1 to discuss his future, and he announced that he will no longer be putting on concerts for fans. In a surprisingly sincere display, T.I. stated that Jingle Ball 2024 will mark the last time he steps foot on stage.

T.I.’s announcement was prefaced by him wiping his eyes. “I appreciate y’all,” he told the 96.1 hosts. “Offering me my last working gig. I do not need the money anymore and I will not be performing.” The hosts were taken aback by the rapper’s stance, and proceeded to ask additional questions. The man born Clifford Harris was steadfast in his plan. “I don’t wanna do it anymore,” he asserted. “I don’t want people to pay me to hop around and sweat for they entertainment anymore.” T.I.’s last performance will take place at State Farm Arena on December 19. The rapper is slated to perform on a Jingle Ball lineup that includes T-Pain, Sexyy Red, Tinashae and Khalid.

T.I. Admitted That He Didn’t Need The Money Anymore

T.I.’s decision to step back from performing should not be too much of a surprise for fans. The rapper has been teasing his retirement for a while. He told Baller Alert that he planned to drop two albums to mark his retirement back in 2023. “My last album is Kill the King, which will be, you know, it’s gon’ be edgy, energetic,” he explained. “So I’ma end up doing two albums. One will be Kiss the King, and the other will be Kill the King.” It’s taken a while for these albums to come together, and we’ve yet to get release dates for either, but T.I. seems serious.

T.I. alluded to the other reason he won’t be performing live during the 96.1 interview. He told the hosts he didn’t have to anymore, and he wasn’t kidding. T.I. and his wife recently won a $71 million lawsuit against MGA Entertainment. The couple alleged that the company had violated the intellectual property of a girl group they’d previously launched, OMG Girlz, and MGA was forced to pay up. “I mean, wow,” T.I.P. told Rolling Stone after the ruling. “They did more than I thought they would. They blessed us more than beyond.”

Come hell or high water, Nicki Minaj will ensure her long-awaited studio album, Pink Friday 2, is on schedule. Nicki was forced to drop out of an upcoming show to ensure that the project hits streaming platforms this Friday, December 8. Tomorrow (December 4), the “Bahm Bahm” rapper was supposed to perform in Chicago, Illinois, as part of the 2023 iHeartRadio Jingle Ball concert series.

Unfortunately, the Chicago Barbz won’t see Nicki until the Pink Friday World Tour twirls through the Windy City. Today (December 3), Nicki broke the news that she can’t make the gig in a post on her official X (formerly Twitter) page. However, instead of leaving fans high and dry, she was able to tap Lil Wayne to fill in for her headlining slot.

“I have to tell you something. One last thing. I hope it doesn’t make you sad. I won’t be able to perform tomorrow in Chicago for Jingle Ball. I was so excited to see you guys. Please accept my sincerest apologies. I’ll make it up to you on the Chicago stops of my tour early next year,” wrote Nicki.

She added, “However, my beloved brother/boss stepped up for me so that I wouldn’t have to push my album back. His name is Lil Wayne, a.k.a. the GOAT. He will perform tomorrow at the Chicago show.”

She continued, “I am still performing at the Atlanta Jingle Ball on the 14th. And now I’ll also be performing at the Miami Jingle Ball on the 16th.”

Pink Friday 2 is out 12/8 via Republic. Find more information here.

Larsa Pippen & Marcus Jordan’s Engagement Is “In The Works,” She Flaunts Ring At Jingle Ball

Larsa Pippen and Marcus Jordan recently stepped out for the iHeartRadio Jingle Ball, flaunting their romance on the carpet. It’s not the only thing the Real Housewives star showed off, however. The 49-year-old posed for photos making sure that her left hand was in full view, flexing a diamond-covered ring on her engagement finger. She complemented the shimmering jewelry with a similarly eye-catching black jumpsuit, which she paired with a simple blazer.

Pippen first highlighted the ring in photos earlier in the week at a DIRECTV event at Kathy’s in Los Angeles. While the ring seemingly suggests that the controversial pair are engaged, they clarified that they’re not in an interview with PEOPLE. They are, however, looking forward to when that moment finally arrives. When asked about his future proposal, Jordan claimed that it’s already “in the works.”

“I feel like we’ve been looking at rings,” Pippen chimed in. “We’ve definitely been shopping. That’s for sure,” Jordan agreed. Luckily for her, she has total faith that the 32-year-old will sweep her off of her feet when the time comes. “I’m excited,” she shared. “I feel like Marcus has got great taste, and I feel like I know that he’s not going to disappoint us.

The couple is also having the “best” time working together on their Separation Anxiety podcast. “I’m working every day with my best friend, and I feel like separation anxiety is a real thing for us,” Jordan explained. “So the more time we spend together, the better.” What do you think of Larsa Pippen and her man Marcus Jordan showing off her ring at the iHeartRadio Jingle Ball?
