It is a terrifying scene, and Renner is absolutely lucky to be alive.

Renner recently appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live, where he recounted the incident in gory detail. “It’s like a giant metal-like cookie roller, right? And it just missed every vertebra, did not hit any organs, membrane did not swell,” the actor said. “My eye did pop out, that’s weird. However, thanks to the efforts of nearby family members, Renner was airlifted to a hospital in Reno. He underwent surgery on January 2 and was able to post on social media on January 3. According to Renner, he was released from hospital on January 17. While Renner has begun to open up about the incident that occurred on New Year’s Day, it is still a painful subject for him. Furthermore, it is clear from the interview preview alone that it is something that he will stick with him for a very long time.

Furthermore, TMZ posted the phone call, in which a man speaks as the actor groans in the background.

The Call

“Someone’s been run over by a snowcat. Hurry!” the call begins. “Someone is in front of my house on the ground. He got run over by a snowcat. He’s been crushed. Send paramedics, ambulance… Listen to me, we might want to get Life Flight out here immediately.”

Moreover, the Life Flight Network is fast aerial transport used to save endangered lives in critical circumstances. Later on in the clip, the caller explained Renner’s injuries.

“Rib issues… crushed up on his right side…” the man said. “His right chest and upper torso and his ribs look like they might be crushed. He has a head wound as well.”

Meanwhile, the respondent was unable to give them a solid estimated time of arrival, given “snow on the mountain.”

“His breaths are getting shorter, so please,” the caller said. “[He’s experiencing] shallow breath, a lot of pain. He’s conscious, we got him covered in blankets. His head is covered…Don’t be drifting off,” he told the Wind River actor. “Stay awake.”

Since that moment, officials took Renner to an ICU, where he stayed for days. After undergoing two surgeries, the actor is in a recovery process. Still, he had enough time to update fans via Instagram and let them know he was okay. “Thank you all for your kind words,” he wrote. “Im too messed up now to type. But I send love to you all.”

Jeremy Renner Speaks Out While Recovering From Snow Plow Accident

After being a victim of a recent snow plow accident and being rushed to the intensive care unit, actor Jeremy Renner offered his fans and loved ones an update while in a hospital bed. 

Sharing a selfie with bruises covering his face, Renner revealed on Instagram Tuesday that he’s “too messed up now to type.” But he thanked everyone for their support nonetheless.

“Thank you all for your kind words,” the Hurt Locker actor wrote, adding, “Im too messed up now to type. But I send love to you all.”

Several celebrities entered his comments to lend their support. Fellow Avengers star Chris Hemsworth wrote underneath the post, “Speedy recovery buddy. Sending love your way!”

Chris Evans added, “Tough as nails. Love you buddy.” 

Sending his love, Chris Evans also commented. “Continued prayers your way brutha,” the Guardians of the Galaxy actor wrote, adding a heart emoji.

According to the Reno-Gazette Journal, the 51-year-old was run over by a snow plow after it began to roll near his property. Renner was reportedly helping someone remove their car from the snow shortly before the accident occurred.

Revealing that foul play is not believed to be a factor in this case, Sheriff Darin Balaam shared about the incident in a recent press conference, “An eyewitness detailed seeing Mr. Renner getting into the PistenBully and not seeing him again until the Pistenbully came to rest in a pile of snow in front of his driveway,” continuing, “We believe this is a tragic accident.”

Neighbors nearby reportedly aided the actor until medical personnel arrived on the scene. He was then airlifted to a local hospital in Reno, Nevada, and later placed in the intensive care unit.

Jeremy Renner Out Of Surgery But Remains In Intensive Care

Jeremy Renner is out of surgery and is currently in the intensive care unit. He suffered an injury during a snow plow accident at his home in Nevada on New Year’s day. A representative for the actor provided an update on his health in a statement on Tuesday.

“We can confirm that Jeremy has suffered blunt chest trauma and orthopedic injuries and has undergone surgery today, January 2nd, 2023,” his rep said, according to the NY Post. “He has returned from surgery and remains in the intensive care unit in critical but stable condition.”

After a massive snowstorm in the area, Renner reportedly ran over his own leg with a snowplow. While he was losing a “serious” amount of blood, a neighbor was able to apply a tourniquet. From there, the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office worked with Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District and Remsa Health to airlift him to a nearby hospital.

The statement continued: “Jeremy’s family would like to express their gratitude to the incredible doctors and nurses looking after him, Truckee Meadows Fire and Rescue, Washoe County Sheriff, Reno City Mayor Hillary Schieve and the Carano and Murdock families.”

“They are also tremendously overwhelmed and appreciative of the outpouring of love and support from his fans,” his rep concluded.

Renner frequently posts about the weather near his home at the Mount Rose Ski Tahoe resort outside of Reno.

Jeremy Renner Shown Being Airlifted To Hospital In New Video

TMZ has obtained video showing Jeremy Renner’s helicopter flight to a nearby hospital after a snowplowing accident on Sunday. The outlet says the clip was recorded shortly after he got onboard around 9:50 AM.

“As of now, we can confirm Jeremy is in critical but stable condition with injuries suffered after experiencing a weather related accident while plowing snow earlier today,” a representative told CNN in a statement. “His family is with him and he is receiving excellent care.”

TMZ reports that Renner was operating a machine called a Snow Cat when it accidentally ran over his leg. He suffered a substantial loss of blood. A neighbor was luckily able to put a tourniquet on his leg until paramedics could arrive.

Washoe County Sheriff’s Office described the injury as “traumatic” in a statement.

“Upon arrival, Deputies coordinated with Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District and REMSA Health to arrange for medical transport of Mr. Jeremy Renner via care flight to a local area hospital. Mr. Renner was the only involved party in the incident.”
