Fat Joe Roasts Gillie Da Kid For Crawford Challenge

Nobody loves Gillie and Wallo more than me, but Gillie one-on-one against Jamal Crawford? I don’t got Gillie scoring two [points]. Gillie from Philly, my brother, talking about how he taking on Jamal Crawford — is he on dust? What they got over there in Philly, the tranq [tranquilizer]. You seen that shit where people be just Zombie’d out. It’s worse! Yeah, Gillie gotta relax,” Joe said on Instagram. Furthermore, Joe told Crawford to “break his ankles” in reference to Gillie.

Gillie’s challenge originally came on his podcast. “I bet you Jamal Crawford will not accept this challenge one-on-one. I will cook the sh-t [out of him]. Let me just say this, Jamal Crawford is gonna get his baskets — that’s what he do. He cook everybody. But guess who else going in the oven? Jamal fucking Crawford. He gotta guard me. I’m like Bubba Chuck. I know I’m a muthaf-cking liability on muthaf-cking defense, but I’m such a liability on offense that it don’t even f-ckin matter,” Gillie bragged. Jamal Crawford Accepts

The reason Fat Joe responded in the way he did is because Crawford has actually taken Gillie up on the offer. “Aye @gilliedakid, they slipped you something real serious huh? I don’t bother nobody, now you want ‘Jamal Wick Crawford’ to play 1’s with?! This will be worst than what the Hitman did to Martin. It’s on,” Crawford wrote on X, formerly Twitter. Furthermore, Crawford suggested that the loser donate $50,000 to charity as a way of upping the stakes.

Crawford, a three-time Sixth Man of the Year, retired in 2020 after 20 seasons in the NBA. He was the eighth overall pick in the 2000 Draft and spent time with the Bulls, Knicks, Warriors, Hawks, Blazers, Clippers, Timberwolves, Suns, and Nets. While never claiming a ring or an all-star appearance, he is viewed as one of the most consistent, dedicated, and likeable players of his generation. Role-defining sixth man Lou Williams recently said that he believed Crawford should be elected to the Hall of Fame before he was.

Jamal Crawford Responds To Gillie Da Kid’s Ill-Advised Challenge

Recently, Gillie Da Kid came out and decided to challenge for NBA star Jamal Crawford to a one-on-one match. Overall, this was a ridiculous challenge to set forward. However, he did it anyway. “I bet you Jamal Crawford will not accept this challenge one-on-one,” Gillie said. “I will cook the shit [out of him]. Let me just say this, Jamal Crawford is gonna get his baskets — that’s what he do. He cook everybody. But guess who else going in the oven? Jamal fucking Crawford. He gotta guard me. I’m like Bubba Chuck. I know I’m a motherfucking liability on muthafucking defense, but I’m such a liability on offense that it don’t even fuckin matter.”

Crawford is someone who does spend some time on social media, and he saw what Gillie had to say. Subsequently, he decided to clap back by making it clear that he was down for the match. “Aye @gilliedakid, they slipped you something real serious huh? I don’t bother nobody, now you want ‘Jamal Wick Crawford’ to play 1’s with?! This will be worst than what the Hitman did to Martin. It’s on,” he wrote on his Twitter account.

Lou Williams Says Jamal Crawford Deserves The Hall Of Fame Before Him

Lou Williams has reacted to discussions of whether he, among other players, deserves a place in the Hall of Fame. “We both got 3. I hope my big brother gets in first!! He sets the stage for me and everybody else coming behind us. Much love homies,” Williams wrote in response to a tweet from the The Tidal League. During the segment in question, Myles Turner said this of Crawford and Williams – “For what they’ve done culturally, yes. But in the business of this league for what they’ve done they never got the recognition they deserved.”

Williams retired earlier this year after 17 years in the NBA. He was drafted 45th overall in 2005 out of South Gwinnett High School in Snellville, Georgia. Furthermore, Williams was one of the last high school draftees to ever join the NBA, as the league prohibited teams from picking high school players from the 2006 draft onwards. Williams spent the first 7 seasons of his career with the Sixers. While Williams was a solid contributor, he was part of a Sixers team trying to find its identity after the departure of Allen Iverson. This was highlighted by Williams leading the Sixers in scoring during the 2011-12 season, despite starting 0 games for the team.

Does Lou Williams Deserve The Call From The Hall?

Williams’ career was prolific. Becoming a free agent in 2012, Williams signed with the Atlanta Hawks but would be traded to Toronto in 2014. With the Raptors, Williams blossomed yet further into being a vital supporting player, picking up his first Sixth Man of the Year Award in 2015. Finding himself a free agent once again, the guard signed a three-year deal with the Lakers. However, he was traded once more in 2017, joining the Rockets. He was then flipped to the Clippers just a few months later, where he would spend the next four years. Finally, Williams was traded back to the Hawks in 2021.

How does one judge the career of a career bench player? Williams’ impact was undeniable, as evidenced by his three Sixth Man Awards and his record of most bench points in NBA history. But is the Hall for bench players? That is a question that many experts have long debated. Williams won’t be eligible for the Hall until 2028. Maybe the world will have a clearer view of the successful career bencher when he becomes eligible.

50 Cent Says Eminem Has Impacted Hip-Hop Than Jay-Z

50 Cent came to bat for Eminem in response to Jamal Crawford arguing that Jay-Z has had a bigger impact on hip-hop than Eminem. The former NBA Sixth Man of the Year had been discussing the topic on Shaquille O’Neal’s The Big Podcast with Shaq.

“That’s why my five, the dominance outweighs the number,” Crawford explained to Shaq. “Like, JAY-Z’s effect on Hip Hop is bigger than any album sales that Eminem will have, you see what I’m saying? That’s just how it goes.”

O’Neal was reluctant to agree.

Replying to the former NBA star’s comments on an Instagram post, 50 wrote: “Ha Bullshit.”

Both Eminem and Jay-Z are two of the most commercially successful artists of all time. Eminem is the No. 1 most-certified artist in the history of the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). On the other hand, Jay-Z owns the most No. 1 albums on the Billboard 200 with 14.

50’s comments come after he recently trolled Jay-Z for trying to “look like a gay painter.” He had been upset about Jay-Z allegedly not wanting him involved in the 2022 Super Bowl Halftime Show. 50 has said that Eminem sticking up for him is what allowed him to perform at the event.

50 is planning on collaborating with Eminem on an 8 Mile TV adaptation.

“It’s gonna be big,” 50 said during a recent radio interview. “I’m working. I ain’t got no duds. I’m batting 100 … I think it should be there for [Eminem’s] legacy because it’s important to me that they understand it.”

Dwyane Wade’s NBA On TNT Replacement May Have Just Been Found

Dwyane Wade has been a staple of the NBA on TNT broadcasts ever since retiring from the NBA back in 2019. Wade would participate in the Tuesday broadcasts which featured the likes of Shaq, as well as Candace Parker. He was a popular member of the broadcast team, but now, he will be moving on to other endeavors.

It was revealed recently that Wade wants to focus on his businesses, as well as his ownership stake in the Utah Jazz. With that being said, it can be easy to see why Wade would want to leave TNT, even if it was something he ultimately enjoyed doing.

Ever since announcing his departure from the broadcast group, TNT has been looking for a replacement. There are plenty of retired players who could fill this role, but now, it appears as though TNT has found its man.

According to Marc Stein of ESPN, the man in question is none other than Jamal Crawford. Crawford is a player who was incredibly respected around the league and he still gets a ton of compliments from his peers. He was a bucket in the league, and if you watch TNT, then you would know that Crawford has already worked with them in the past.

Crawford has yet to be officially announced as Wade’s replacement, although it is shaping up to be his job for the taking.
