The Ufc 287 main event has been made official. Israel Adesanya and Alex Pereira both make weight for their middleweight championship showdown. The rematch is one of the more anticipated fights in MMA history. Pereira shocked the MMA community in their first match. As the kickboxing legend earned a TKO victory over Adesanya. “The Last Stylebender” has a long history with the new middleweight champion. Pereira owns two kickboxing victories over Adesanya. Including one that ended in a devastating knockout.

Adesanya has not run away from the challenge. Actually, the former middleweight king was winning their last fight. But a beautiful shot caught Adesanya and the rest is history. At one point in the bout, Adesanya caught the current champ with a beautiful strike. However, Pereira was saved by the bell. As the strike came so late in the round. The main event isn’t the only bout that has fans excited for the card. Miami’s own Jorge Masvidal will co-headline the event. Masvidal will take on an incredible challenge in number five ranked welterweight Gilbert Burns. The Miami-based fighter is known for his trash talk and the ability to back it up. The number eleventh-ranked welterweight is best known for his iconic knockout victory over Ben Askren. The finish has gone down as one of the coldest ends to a fight in MMA history.

A lot of star power in the top two bouts of UFC 287. However, the rest of the card has the potential to be one of the better events of the young year. The main card will see a bantamweight matchup between Rob Font and Adrian Yanez. As well as a welterweight matchup between Kevin Holland and Santiago Ponzinibbio.The main card will open with the youngest fighter in the brand’s history Raul Rosas Jr. taking on Christian Rodriguez. The pressure is on former UFC Middleweight champion Israel Adesanya this weekend. Adesanya will be looking to overcome the biggest obstacle in his MMA career. Izzy will be looking to dethrone the man who took the gold from him, Alex Pereira. The pair’s last bout wasn’t the first time these two have met inside a ring. Periera owns a 2-0 record over Adesanya in Kickboxing. With one of his victories ending in a brutal knockout of Adesanya. However, the octagon is a different beast. Adesanya looked to be cruising to another title defense in their first MMA meeting. But one strike changed the entire landscape of the fight.

Periera is now the owner of the UFC Middleweight crown, as his star has never been brighter. However, Adesanya has been impatiently waiting for his rematch. What seems like an impossible hurdle will once again be staring at Adesanya across the cage. The two will go to battle one more time this weekend in the main event of UFC 287. Israel Adesanya lost his middleweight title to Alex Pereira a few months back. Overall, Adesanya was the favorite to win that match. However, Pereira proved to be an incredible opponent. Of course, Adesanya is a superstar in the UFC, and the league was hoping for him to extend his title run a bit longer. Although now, he will have to win a rematch against Pereira in order to earn his title back. That rematch is set to go down Saturday at UFC 287. Needless to say, it is going to be a whole lot of fun.

Of course, this is not going to be an easy task. While Israel Adesanya has the tools to get it done, Pereira will be eager to showcase that his win was no fluke. Interestingly enough, heading into the match, Adesanya will be the slight favorite. Despite losing the first matchup, the oddsmakers are giving the edge to Izzy. Subsequently, the UFC superstar spoke about these odds while appearing on the TMZ Sports TV Show. For the most part, he is actually surprised that the oddsmakers would make him the favorite.

Israel Adesanya Is Excited To Get His Title Back

“I am surprised [that I’m the favorite] to be honest, cause I thought these bookies were not as smart as they are,” Adesanya said. “I’m surprised they actually picked me as the favorite cause I am the more polished fighter, but he’s the guy who got the tools, he’s got that nuke. Only a few fighters in history have that.” Of course, Israel Adesanya agrees with this recent assessment. It’s just that this was wholly unexpected given recent history. However, as we all know, odds have nothing to do with what actually goes down in the Octagon.

This will prove to be a very important match for Israel Adesanya. If he loses, he won’t be competing for another title, anytime soon. Israel Adesanya Gets Good News In Brass Knuckles Case

Israel Adesanya has had an interesting last few weeks. After losing his middleweight title to Alex Pereira, he was arrested at JFK Airport in New York. News of his arrest was quite shocking to the UFC world, especially since it was for carrying brass knuckles through TSA.

Subsequently, Adesanya was held by the New York Port Authority. Eventually, they let him go and gave him a desk appearance ticket. Overall, it was a pretty embarrassing arrest, however, Adesanya’s manager claimed it was all one big misunderstanding.

“Israel was handed a gift by a fan, which he put in his luggage,” Tim Simpson said. “When flagged at the airport, Israel quickly disposed of the item, and cooperated with authorities.”

Israel Adesanya Gets A Win

Recently, it was reported that Adesanya got a huge win in his case. Basically, the UFC superstar was given an adjournment in contemplation of dismissal. This simply means that if Adesanya goes six months without getting into trouble, his entire case will be dismissed.

This is obviously a massive win for Adesanya who committed a fairly light infraction. Considering there was no indication that he was doing anything out of line while being arrested, it’s clear this was all just one big error that won’t happen again.

Drake’s $1 Million Bet For Israel Adesanya To Win UFC 276 Is The Rapper’s Latest Big Wager

In the last few months, Drake has made it clear that he has no issue wagering big money on sports or at the roulette table. It’s not too surprising as he’s one of the music’s most popular artists, thus giving him a comfortable cash supply to pull from for his big bets. It was just last month that Jack Harlow revealed that he lost a lot of money trying to keep up with Drake’s betting ways at the Kentucky Derby. In his latest move, Drake revealed that he bet $1 million in favor of Israel Adesanya to win UFC 276 on Saturday.

Drake shared the news about the bet through a recording of a FaceTime call between him and Adesanya. In the video, he says that he put a “light million” in favor of Adesanya and noted that he has a “deep deep respect” for the fighter. Drake also requested to walk Adesanya out for the Saturday night fight and the fighter complied. “One of the most inspiring guys to me,” Drake wrote in the caption of the Instagram post. “The death note author himself and my partner with @stake @stylebender BIG FIGHT TMRW…got a million on it [shrugging emoji].”
