UFC 287 Main Event Set

The Ufc 287 main event has been made official. Israel Adesanya and Alex Pereira both make weight for their middleweight championship showdown. The rematch is one of the more anticipated fights in MMA history. Pereira shocked the MMA community in their first match. As the kickboxing legend earned a TKO victory over Adesanya. “The Last Stylebender” has a long history with the new middleweight champion. Pereira owns two kickboxing victories over Adesanya. Including one that ended in a devastating knockout.

Adesanya has not run away from the challenge. Actually, the former middleweight king was winning their last fight. But a beautiful shot caught Adesanya and the rest is history. At one point in the bout, Adesanya caught the current champ with a beautiful strike. However, Pereira was saved by the bell. As the strike came so late in the round. The main event isn’t the only bout that has fans excited for the card. Miami’s own Jorge Masvidal will co-headline the event. Masvidal will take on an incredible challenge in number five ranked welterweight Gilbert Burns. The Miami-based fighter is known for his trash talk and the ability to back it up. The number eleventh-ranked welterweight is best known for his iconic knockout victory over Ben Askren. The finish has gone down as one of the coldest ends to a fight in MMA history.

A lot of star power in the top two bouts of UFC 287. However, the rest of the card has the potential to be one of the better events of the young year. The main card will see a bantamweight matchup between Rob Font and Adrian Yanez. As well as a welterweight matchup between Kevin Holland and Santiago Ponzinibbio.The main card will open with the youngest fighter in the brand’s history Raul Rosas Jr. taking on Christian Rodriguez.
