Joe Biden Remains Proud Of Hunter For Overcoming Addiction Following Guilty Verdict

Joe Biden says he’s still proud of his son, Hunter, for overcoming addiction following the news that he’s been convicted on three gun charges. They’re related to laws prohibiting drug addicts from owning firearms. Additionally, Joe has confirmed he will not use his executive powers to pardon his son for the crimes. He faces 25 years in prison and a fine of up to $750,000 but will likely receive a far lesser sentence as a first-time offender.

“I am more grateful today for the love and support I experienced this last week from Melissa, my family, my friends, and my community than I am disappointed by the outcome,” Hunter Biden said. “Recovery is possible by the grace of God, and I am blessed to experience that gift one day at a time.”

President Biden on His Son’s Conviction: ‘I Will Accept the Outcome of the Case and Respect the Judicial Process’

Hunter Biden, the son of President Joe Biden, has been found guilty on all three federal felony gun charges he faced. Biden violated laws to prevent drug addicts from purchasing firearms.

President Biden has issued a statement on the conviction:

“As I said last week. I am the President, but I am also a Dad. Jill and I love our son, and we are so proud of the man he is today. So many families who have had loved ones battle addiction understand the feeling of pride seeing someone you love come out the other side and be so strong and resilient in recovery. I will accept the outcome of this case and will continue to respect the judicial process as Hunter considers an appeal. Jill & I will always be there for Hunter and the rest of our family with our love and support. Nothing will ever change that.”

According to CNN, this is the first time a president’s family member has been found guilty of a crime during the father’s term in office. Hunter Biden is now facing up to 25 years in prison and a fine of $750,000. He is a first-time offender and is expected to receive less than the maximum.

A panel of 12 Delaware citizens found Biden guilty. The first two charges were related to buying the gun. When purchasing a gun, individuals are required to complete a form for the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) affirming their legal eligibility to buy the weapon. Hunter Biden has been accused of falsifying information on these forms.

The form includes questions such as: Have you been convicted of a felony? Are you a fugitive? Are you unlawfully in the country? And crucially for this case, are you an “unlawful user of, or addicted to” illegal drugs? Hunter Biden allegedly answered “No” to this question.

Count three pertains to the possession of the firearm. Federal law prohibits possessing a gun while abusing drugs. According to the indictment and public court filings, Hunter Biden had the gun for 11 days in October 2018 before his girlfriend, concerned about his mental health, disposed of it in a dumpster.

Biden was open about his addiction following the death of his brother, Beau, revealing he started using crack in 2015.

Kodak Black’s Lawyer Compares His Case To Hunter Biden’s: “2 Tiers Of Justice?”

Kodak Black’s defense attorney, Bradford Cohen, recently shared his thoughts on Hunter Biden’s recent plea deal on social media. He shared a post on Instagram, where he expresses the hypocrisy that he feels surrounds the president’s son’s case. He claims that his client was treated unfairly, receiving a 3-year sentence for the same crime. Hunter Biden isn’t expected to serve any jail time for his charges. They include misdemeanor tax offenses and a felony charge of illegal possession of a firearm.

Kodak Black was contrastingly sentenced to almost four years in prison for his gun charge. He served around half of the 46-month sentence before receiving commutation from former President Donald Trump. He had pleaded guilty to falsifying federal paperwork in order to purchase a gun, and was released in January of 2021. “2 tiers of justice?” Cohen asked on Instagram, “Kodak was charged for the same crime. Got over 3 years.” “Mr. Biden will not serve a day,” he continued, “Feels right? Do FBI agents and federal authorities take cases personally? I’m going to discuss this on my subscriber page.”

Bradford Cohen Calls Out Hypocrisy

The attorney also discussed the matter on Fox News. “There’s no such thing as not getting jail time on a gun charge on any kind of gun charge,” Cohen explained, “I’ve never seen anyone where this offense was charged and they didn’t get some sort of prison sentence.” He went on, “And in fact, most of the time in federal court, you very rarely see people get anything but a prison sentence.” Cohen also added, “I think that this is like, you know, they figured the easiest way for them to save face [was] to charge him, not give him prison, and then hope that [Joe] Biden doesn’t give him a pardon until he’s on his way out two years.”

Cohen also recently shared his thoughts on YNW Melly’s current double murder trial earlier this month, claiming that it “will be a tough case for the prosecution.” He went on to say that “the case has built in reasonable doubt.” He also said “they can’t say someone else didn’t get in the car or someone else did the shooting.”
