Janet Jackson Reveals New Las Vegas Residency on Horizon

Janet Jackson, sister to the king of pop Michael Jackson is showing the world that she still has it. 

The most famous Jackson family sister is set to return to the Las Vegas stage with a brand-new residency at Resorts World Las Vegas this winter. 

This is a big deal. If you know about Vegas residencies, like Usher’s amazing show then you’d know.

Timing wise, starting on December 30, the iconic pop star will perform a series of 10 shows, including special performances over Valentine’s Day weekend, according to KSNV.

Get this, Jackson, announced the residency on social media, where she shared her excitement: 

“We’re so excited to announce our new residency at Resorts World Las Vegas launching New Year’s week. This is going to be a lot of fun and I look forward to spending the start of the New Year with you!! We truly can’t wait!”

Officially, Bobby Reynolds, Senior Vice President for AEG Presents Las Vegas, expressed his enthusiasm about the upcoming shows. “Janet Jackson is undoubtedly one of the biggest names in pop music,” he said, according to KSNV. “We could not be more thrilled to close out 2024 with her return to the Las Vegas Strip and her venue debut at our award-winning Resorts World Theatre, and to kick off 2025 with a run of sure-to-be-unforgettable shows.”

Now this marks Jackson’s second Las Vegas residency, following her first successful stint in 2019, as reported by ABC News.

So, in addition to her residency, Jackson is gearing up for a European tour next month, visiting 10 cities with Wyclef Jean as part of her “Together Again” tour. Earlier this year, she toured the U.S. with Nelly as her opening act during the summer.

Nicki Minaj Sued For $5 Million By Devoted ‘Fan’

Another day, another lawsuit in the world of Hip Hop. Tameer Peak, a former devoted fan of Nicki Minaj, is suing the rapper for $5 million, alleging that she caused significant damage to his reputation, inflicted emotional distress, and led to financial losses.

According to Peak, tensions began to rise between him and Minaj in 2017 during what he describes as the “Nicki Hate Train” period, a time when Minaj allegedly accused some fans of being spies sent to undermine her career.

Get this, Peak claims that during an Instagram Live session with Minaj, which had over 100,000 viewers, he was publicly berated by the rapper. In his complaint, Peak also alleges that during the 2020 Super Bowl, he was physically assaulted by Minaj’s husband, Kenneth Petty.

Our friends at TMZ reported that during one of these sessions, Minaj allegedly said, “It’s clear they’re not necessarily, you know, a full basket umm at the picnic.” Peak interpreted this as an insinuation that he was mentally unstable or intellectually lacking. In another instance, he claims Minaj accused him of being “one sandwich short of a picnic” and implied he was on welfare by saying he received a check from the government.

So we’re waiting for a response but Minaj has not responded directly to the allegations, her attorney, Judd Burstein, has dismissed the claims. “Mr. Peak has been harassing Nicki on social media for years on end to no avail,” Burstein told TMZ. “He has now graduated to seeking to shake her down financially with manifestly false allegations and legally frivolous claims. He will regret having gone down this disreputable road when he is forced to pay her legal fees as required by California law.”

ASAP Rocky Explains Why Rihanna Is The “Perfect” Partner

ASAP Rocky says that Rihanna is the “perfect person” for him to be with and explained why during a recent interview with Billboard. He noted that, as two incredibly successful artists in multiple industries, their schedules can get “chaotic.” In turn, however, they both understand the difficulties of that and respect one another. He began by describing her as “my lady” and the “love of my life.”

“It’s crazy how we find balance with our chaotic schedules,” Rocky said. “[The relationship] is going great. I don’t think there’s a more perfect person because when the schedules are hectic, she’s very understanding of that. And when the schedule’s freed up, that’s when you get to spend [the] most time together. It’s all understanding and compatibility.”

Rocky and Rihanna began dating just before the COVID-19 pandemic, the isolation of which sped up their relationship dramatically. They already share two children together. Speaking with Mel Ottenberg for Interview magazine, earlier this year, she revealed that they’re opening to having even more. “I don’t know what god wants, but I would go for more than two,” she admitted. “I would try for my girl. But of course if it’s another boy, it’s another boy.”

As for Rocky’s upcoming album, Don’t Be Dumb, he’s expected to be collaborating with Tyler, the Creator, Pharrell Williams, Metro Boomin, Madlib, The Alchemist, and more noteworthy artists. Further speaking with Billboard, he described his mindset as “grim” and explained that it affects the nature of the project. “In this very moment, it’s very grim. Drake Promises To “Win Game 2” In Cryptic IG Post

Drake appeared to suggest he’s going to come back and win Game 2 with a cryptic post on his Finsta account on Instagram on Sunday. In doing so, he shared an iconic interview from 2004 of Detroit Pistons star Rasheed Wallace saying as much. “Y’all put it on the front page, back page, middle of the page… we will win Game 2,” Wallace says. Additionally, he shared a picture from the 1986 film, A Better Tomorrow.

Fans on social media have been understandably interpreting the posts to be referring to the Toronto rapper’s feud with Kendrick Lamar. They’ve have been having mixed responses to the move. One user on X (formerly Twitter) suggested Drake get over it. “’Loves gonna get you killed, but prides gonna be the death of you, and you, and me and you….’ MF just ain’t learned and can’t move on,” one fan wrote, referencing Lamar’s track, “Pride.” Another countered: “You new rap fans different. ‘Move on…’ I don’t know why yall thought a beef over legacy was gonna be a quick weekend battle and not a war that will continue to play out over the next months/years. [Fire emoji] music is gonna be coming out of both camps. Let’s eat and enjoy the show.”

DJ Akademiks Calls Out DJ Hed For Shooting Down His Kendrick Lamar Album Report

DJ Akademiks went off on DJ Hed while live-streaming on Sunday night after the Kendrick Lamar associate shot down the reports that the iconic rapper is working on a new album. In doing so, Akademiks labeled himself the greatest journalist that Hed has ever seen and reaffirmed his previous report that a new project is in the works.

“I’m the greatest single journalist you’ve ever heard of,” Akademiks remarked. “I built a $20 million industry by doing this sh*t. I played Drake’s video and Drake had to ask me, ‘How’d you get it?’ When I tell you something came from or something I know when it comes to Kendrick or whatever– I don’t give a f*ck who Kendrick is, I don’t give a f*ck about none of these n****s. Akademiks is the greatest single journalist you’ve ever heard of. You could be f*cking Kendrick if I said it that’s what it is. Let me be clear: I don’t need to talk to the artists.
