Just in time for 420, 2x GRAMMY® award winning, performer, writer and consummate Kanye collaborator, Leonard “GLC” Harris  has teamed up with Multi-platinum selling, GRAMMY and  Golden Globe nominated recording artist, Wiz Khalifa on their cannabis inspired song, Kush &  P.  featuring Xcelence. The chill and energetic hip hop ode to kush is produced by legendary producer, No ID, Xcelence, Sickone, ZoMixedIt, DJ Pharris and SkattaMan.

Working with GLC on  “Kush and P” was a no-brainer for No ID. The godfather of Chicago hip hop, whose astounding  credits include Jay-Z, Kanye,Rihanna, Drake, Common, Snoh Aalegra and more felt at home with his longtime friend.  “It’s not hard to work with your brother. It’s very organic and more  like a family affair,” said No ID.

For GLC the collaboration with Wiz Khalifa on a cannabis inspired song made common sense.

“I met Wiz in Pittsburgh & we instantly bonded. The song was something that happened  naturally. Kush & Pussy is a song that embraces world peace through relaxation, good sex, kicking it and cannabis. It just made sense to collaborate with Wiz,” shared GLC.

Kush and P perfectly aligns with GLC’s  business endeavors and entrepreneurship goals for minority communities.

The Chicago native and writer who was introduced to the world on Kanye’s debut  album is a community activist and lead investor in Cronja, an L.A.-based Black- and veteran-owned cannabis  lifestyle brand. The  company specializes in Cannabis flowers, premium leather rolling trays and handmade cases for rolling kits.  In January,  the company was able to strike a deal with  Jay-Z’s  Cannabis partner, The Parent Company.

Today In Hip Hop History: MF DOOM’s Debut Album ‘Operation Doomsday’ Dropped 24 Years Ago

Screen Shot 2023 04 20 at 6.57.51 AM

April 20, 1999, marks the day that the eclectic and iconic MF Doom launched his career with his debut record Operation Doomsday.

Coming off of his time as half the former duo KMD, Doom wasn’t ways the quirky character with the humorous rhetoric we know and love him as today. He suffered a great deal after the loss of co-KMD emcee, and younger brother, Subroc, after he was struck by a vehicle. Years would pass before DOOM would take his identification for Marvel character “Dr. Doom” and turn it into his own hip hop persona with the release of Operation Doomsday in 1999.

Containing 19 tracks, the album was blended together with skits from Hanna Barbera’s 1967 classic cartoon series Fantastic Four. Between the skits and the guest-starring of underground Hip Hop’s finest emcees and producers, like that of Cucumber Slice and MF Grimm, the album became an instant classic.

The odd blending of cartoon classics that were a staple of the generation’s childhood and underground lyricism only extended his already vast audience of Hip-Hop’s truest heads. With this, the album paved the way for his lineage of work that has become legendary for both the classic Hip-Hop listener and the new school crowd.

Jonathan Majors Dropped From Three Projects, Including Otis Redding Biopic

Jonathan Majors Dropped From Three Projects, Including Otis Redding Biopic

The Jonathan Majors fallout continues. Following being ousted from his management and public relation firms, and no longer attending the Met Gala with Valentino, the actor has been dropped from three new projects.

According to Deadline, studios in Hollywood are now apprehensive about working with the actor, leading to Majors’ dismissal from the film The Man in My Basement, an ad campaign for the Texas Rangers, and an unannounced Otis Redding biopic.

For The Man in My Basement, Majors was set to star and executive produce the film under his Tall Street Productions imprint. Protagonist Pictures are currently searching for Majors’ replacement. The movie tells the story of Charles Blakey, a man living in Sag Harbor who rents out the basement of his ancestral home for $50,000 to a European man for the summer, leading to a chaotic path of race, history, and the root of all evil. Majors was set to star opposite of William Dafoe.

Last week, Marvel insider Jeff Snieder revealed that Majors, who is currently planned to be a key component of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, could be replaced, citing Majors’ team and Marvel aligned with a plan for handling the issue.

One of the names floating as an option is Snowfall’s Damson Idris.

“Even though there hasn’t been any movement on the Jonathan Majors front, I’ve heard that’s the kind of actor, who, like, if Jonathan Majors got the boot as Kang, someone like Damson Idris is the type of the person that [Marvel] may look at to replace him if that, in fact, happens,” said Sneider.

The next edition in the MCU is Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, set for release on May 5, 2023.
