Joe Budden Hints At Knowing “The Hottest Tea” About JAY-Z Choosing Kendrick Lamar Over Lil Wayne

Joe Budden spoke at length during the latest episode of his podcast about the theory that JAY-Z intended to disrespect Drake by helping select Kendrick Lamar to perform at the Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show. In doing so, Budden hinted at knowing “the hottest tea” about something that happened backstage with Lil Wayne.

Budden began by admitting that, if he were JAY-Z, he wouldn’t like Drake’s decision to put out a house album, which he did with Honestly, Nevermind, during the same year that Beyonce did with Renaissance. “You gotta understand, we’re dealing with the ‘power’ part of ‘money, power, respect.’ That’s the part that we have to focus on. People with power are going to exert it, now, when this much is at play,” Budden began. From there, he brought up having some “tea.” “I’m hearing that there was an event where something happened backstage,” he added, before saying it was “too hot” to go into further detail. “But something happened backstage at one of them shows.”

From there, Budden complained about the overall reaction to the NFL selecting Lamar. “I’m upset that we announced a Black hip-hop halftime performer and we just muddy the water with who we think should’ve been, or who y’all think should’ve been the Black performer,” he added, before targeting young hip-hop fans. “Y’all wasn’t even alive for the hundred years of Kid Rock, and Guns & Roses, and Bruce Springsteen.”

The lawsuits against Diddy aren’t going to slow down anytime soon and Dawn Richard’s set of allegations is more proof of that. According to a haunting report from TMZ, they obtained legal documents from the singer and just the number of accounts alone is eye-popping. However, the actual contents of each accusation are even more so. Richard and Diddy’s relationship began in 2004 via the latter’s program on MTV, “Making The Band”. This is when she started to learn that the Bad Boys mogul was capable of some committing some serious to harm to herself and others.

For example, in 2005, Richard says she saw one of the rapper’s former girlfriends, Kim Porter, leaving a studio with her face bashed. Then, in 2006, Richard recalls when Diddy first met Cassie and was extremely predatory towards her. Later, in 2009, she claims that she witnessed him toss the singer against wall, pin her to it by choking her, and then drag up her the stairs all while intoxicated on drugs in his L.A. residence. Additionally, Richard remembers when Diddy hurdled hot scrambled eggs at Cassie and scolded her for not making them properly. “I’ve been asking you for my s***; I can’t stand you b****, you never do it right!”

Dawn Richard’s Accounts Paint Diddy As A Horror Villain

Eventually, the veteran singer and some of her friends warned Cassie and urged her to leave Diddy. This got back to him, and he threatened to take their lives and end their careers. “Y’all b****es don’t get in my relationship. Don’t tell my b**** what she need to be doing… Just make money and shut the f*** up… I end artists… I shelve careers… You could be missing… You b****es want to die today”. After that exchange it seems that’s when the entrepreneur began to target Richard, too. She recounts a time when she was forced to record for 48 hours straight with no sleep leading to some physical issues.

Furthermore, there was an even worse stretch from ’09-2011. Diddy began to touch Richard inappropriately while she was naked in her dressing room at his studio. Additionally, she says that she was locked in a car with tinted windows rolled up. She called her dad to help, and he had to travel from Baltimore to New York to do so. When he arrived and confronted Diddy, he said, “Think about your daughter… Think about your daughter’s career.” So far, no response from the rapper on any of this. DeMar DeRozan will suit up for his fourth NBA franchise this upcoming season, arriving with the Sacramento Kings from the Chicago Bulls.

DeRozan was not short of suitors, with the Philadelphia 76ers, Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Clippers, and Miami HEAT all wanting his services. So why the Kings? DeRozan gave details on this week’s episode of Podcast P with Paul George.

“I was just looking for an opportunity to win at a high level wherever that was going to be…[Sacramento] came about, and they were showing interest, like real interest,” DeRozan said. “So when I sat back and looked at it, and analyzed the team. Great players. Great coach. I just always remember the last couple of years of always seeing them light this damn beam and winning and all that.

“Philly definitely was an option. The Lakers were an option always. Clippers were an option. And the Heat was an option too. I’d say those teams, for sure, were real personal, legitimate options that I was considering.”

The Sacramento Kings acquired free agent guard DeMar DeRozan in a three-year, $74 million sign-and-trade deal.

Breaking down the deal, the Kings sent forward Harrison Barnes and an unprotected 2031 pick swap to the San Antonio Spurs. 

Sources indicated that guard Chris Duarte, two second-round draft picks, and cash will also be sent to the Chicago Bulls. So the Bulls aren’t the victors in this deal or this summer, but when are they ever in free agency?

The Kings targeted DeRozan to join forces with All-Star guard De’Aaron Fox, All-Star center Domantas Sabonis, and promising young forward Keegan Murray, aiming to bolster their offensive firepower in the highly competitive Western Conference.

DeRozan, a six-time All-Star who will turn 35 next month, is coming off a solid three-year tenure with the Bulls, during which he made the All-Star team in his first two seasons and averaged 24 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 5.3 assists this past season. He finished second to Stephen Curry in voting for the NBA’s 2024 Clutch Player of the Year Award.

DeRozan traveled to Sacramento on Saturday to meet with team officials and Kings coach Mike Brown, who recently signed an offseason contract extension. Brown has led the franchise to back-to-back winning seasons for the first time since 2006.

A three-time All-NBA selection, DeRozan was the ninth pick in the 2009 NBA draft by the Toronto Raptors and has since played for the Raptors, Spurs, and Bulls over his 15 NBA seasons. He has averaged 21.2 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 4.1 assists in 1,110 NBA games throughout his career.

This 14-track record, entirely produced by A Tribe Called Quest’s Q-Tip, marks a significant moment in both LL’s career and the Hip-Hop landscape. The album combines modern sounds with classic Hip-Hop energy, showcasing LL’s enduring passion and creativity.
