Bobby Shmurda Compares Receiving New Chain To Having A Newborn Child

Bobby Shmurda compared receiving a new chain from Avianne & Co. in New York City to giving birth to a newborn child, this weekend.

“For all the ladies, I know how y’all feel when y’all be crying when y’all having babies and shit,” Shmurda said in a video published on Saturday. “That’s 70 on that bitch, stop playin’ n***a!”

Avianne & Co. says that the chain is an early birthday gift for the New York rapper. Shurmda was born on August 4, 1994.

A number of other rappers have gotten chains from Avianne & Co. including Blueface, Lil Baby and more.

In celebration of his release from prison, earlier this year, Shmurda’s close friend, Rowdy Rebel, hooked him up with a crazy glow-in-the-dark necklace from Eric the Jeweler. The piece features all VVS emeralds.

Shmurda also got a new tattoo, this week, as a tribute to “strong Black women.” The tattoo depicts Harriet Tubman, but artist Daz Leone says it is also inspired by his single mother and grandmother who raised him together.

The Shmurda She Wrote rapper was released from Clinton Correctional Facility on February 23, 2021. He spent over six years in prison for conspiracy to murder, weapons possession, and reckless endangerment.

Donald Trump Calls Kentucky Derby Winning Horse “A Junky” In New Statement

Former President Donald Trump called Medina Spirit, the racehorse that won the Kentucky Derby, a “junky” on Sunday. The horse’s trainer, Bob Baffert, announced that Spirit tested positive for an illegal substance.

“So now even our Kentucky Derby winner, Medina Spirit, is a junky. This is emblematic of what is happening to our Country,” Trump said on his blog site. “The whole world is laughing at us as we go to hell on our Borders, our fake Presidential Election, and everywhere else!”

Baffert was suspended from Churchill Downs but says that the positive test was “shocking.”

“Yesterday I got the biggest gut-punch in racing for something I didn’t do,” the Hall-of-Fame trainer told reporters. “It’s disturbing. It’s an injustice to the horse.”

“I intend to thoroughly and transparently investigate the matter to determine how this could have happened,” Baffert added in the statement. “We will have the split sample analyzed and DNA testing performed. That will be the first step in the process.”

If the positive test result is substantiated, Spirit will forfeit the victory.

“To be clear, if the findings are upheld, Medina Spirit’s results in the Kentucky Derby will be invalidated and Mandaloun will be declared the winner,” Churchill Downs officials said in a statement

Elon Musk Reveals That He Has Asperger’s On “Saturday Night Live”

Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla and SpaceX founder, admitted that he has Asperger’s while hosting Saturday Night Live, this weekend. The polarizing billionaire discussed the neurological disorder during his monologue on the show.

“I’m actually making history tonight as the first person with Asperger’s to host SNL,” he told the audience. “Or at least the first to admit it. So I won’t make a lot of eye contact with the cast tonight. But don’t worry, I’m pretty good at running ‘human’ in emulation mode.”

He continued by reference to his popular Twitter account: “Look, I know I sometimes say or post strange things, but that’s just how my brain works. To anyone I’ve offended, I just want to say: I reinvented electric cars and I’m sending people to Mars on a rocket ship. Did you think I was also going to be a chill, normal dude?”

Musk is, in fact, not the first SNL host to be diagnosed with Asperger’s publically. Dan Aykroyd, who hosted back in 2003, has previously discussed his own Asperger’s diagnosis.

Musk also discussed the booming cryptocurrency Dogecoin during the show’s “Weekend Update” segment and joked that the coin is “a hustle.” Additionally, his SpaceX company has announced they are launching a lunar mission funded with Dogecoin titled, “DOGE-1 Mission to the Moon.”

Seth Rogen Says He Has No Plans To Work With James Franco Again

Seth Rogen says that he regrets making a joke about James Franco’s misconduct allegations back in 2014 and that he has no plans to work with the actor in the future. Rogen and Franco worked together on numerous hit films including Pineapple Express and This is the End.

“What I can say is that I despise abuse and harassment and I would never cover or conceal the actions of someone doing it, or knowingly put someone in a situation where they were around someone like that,” Rogen told the Sunday Times.

In 2014, Franco was accused of trying to meet up with an underage girl and in 2018, five more women accused him of inappropriate behavior.

While hosting SNL at the time, Rogen made light of the allegations: “I decided to prank James Franco,” he joked. “I posed as a girl on Instagram [and] told him I was way young. He seemed unphased. I have a date to meet him at the Ace Hotel.”

The actor now says he “very much regrets making that joke,” which he described as “terrible.”

“I also look back to that interview in 2018 where I comment that I would keep working with James, and the truth is that I have not and I do not plan to right now,” he continued.

Questlove Explained Why He Helped A Baltimore Rapper Clear A Mariah Carey Sample

Baltimore rapper YTK went viral on Saturday morning after he released his new single, “Let It Off,” which features a distinct sample of Mariah Carey’s 2005 track “Shake It Off.” After someone on Twitter reposted it with the caption, “Mariah Carey has 24 hours to respond,” Carey responded in a very light-hearted manner, writing “How about y’all have 24 hours to respond to my lawyers (purple heart).” It was later revealed that the singer’s reply was indeed a joke, but what some may not have realized is that Questlove also had a role in the ordeal.

The person who posting the inciting tweet reached out to Questlove to aid in clearing the sample for YTK’s track. Questlove then messaged Mariah and was able to put the Baltimore rapper in touch with the right people to begin the clearance process. He later explained on Twitter why he helped YTK get the sample cleared. “I’m DYIN,” The Roots drummer wrote in a tweet. “I helped w the Mariah sample cause 11 years ago we were in the same situation in which Erykah has 24 hours to clear “Gone Baby Don’t Be Long” w Paul McCartney & Lenny Kravitz saw the tweet & hit up Stella to hit her pops & the song was saved! #PayItForward.”

“Gone Baby Don’t Be Long” can be found on Erykah Badu’s 2010 album, New Amerykah Part Two (Return Of The Ankh), on which Questlove is credited on two songs. As for YTK, it remains to be seen if and when the rapper will land the sample clearance.

DK Metcalf Runs 100 Meters In 10.37 Seconds At USATF Golden Games

DK Metcalf made his professional track debut at the USA Track and Field Golden Games, Sunday, and finished the 100-meter dash with an official time of 10.37 seconds. Despite finishing in 15th place out of 17 competitors, numerous NFL players congratulated the Seahawks wide receiver on his performance.

“I’m just happy to be here, excited to have the opportunity, thank God for the opportunity to run against world-class athletes like this,” Metcalf said. “Just to test my speed against world-class athletes like this. . . . They do this for a living. This is very different from football speed.”

When asked if he would consider slimming down in an attempt to qualify for the Olympic team, he responded, “I’ve got minicamp to go to. Like I said, just excited.”

Isiah Young finished with the fasted time at 10.09 seconds.

Former Olympic sprinter Ato Boldon said during the broadcast that Metcalf’s performance should inspire more NFL players to compete in the sport.

“This should encourage every fast NFL guy,” Boldon said. “Tyreek Hill, are you listening? This should encourage every fast NFL guy, you’re not that far off, you get the right training, maybe you get to the Olympic trials.”

Metcalf’s Seahawks teammate, Russell Wilson, as well as others, congratulated him on Twitter after the event.

SpaceX To Launch “DOGE-1 To The Moon” Lunar Mission Funded By Cryptocurrency

Following Elon Musk’s appearance on Saturday Night Live, SpaceX announced that they will be launching “DOGE-1 Mission to the Moon,” next year, and the project will be funded by Dogecoin.

Musk, who has advocated for the colonization of Mars in the past, recently said that building an occupied base on the Moon would be an important step: “We need to have a big permanently occupied base on the moon, and then build a city on Mars and become a spacefaring civilization. We don’t want to be one of those single planet species, we want to be a multi-planetary species.”

During his appearance on SNL, Musk joked that Dogecoin is “a hustle.” Afterward, the cryptocurrency fell 35% in value.

“It’s the future of currency. It’s an unstoppable financial vehicle that’s going to take over the world,” Musk said on the show’s “Weekend Update.”

“So, it’s a hustle?” replied Michael Che.

Musk answered, “Yeah, it’s a hustle.”

DJ Khaled Earns His Third No. 1 Album With ‘Khaled Khaled’

Despite having 12 albums to his name, DJ Khaled hasn’t spent too much time atop the album charts. His first No. 1 was 2016’s Major Key, which came a decade after his debut Listen… The Album. Khaled earned his second chart-topper a year later with Grateful. He came up short in 2019 with Father Of Ashad, whose release was infamously bungled. This time around, Khaled has nothing to worry about, as Khaled Khaled debuted at the top of the Billboard 200.

The album debuted with a total of 93,000 units in its first week, a number comprised of 76,000 streaming equivalent album units and 14,000 pure album sales. Despite it topping the charts, the first-week total is the lowest amount for Khaled since his 2015 album, I Changed A Lot, which debuted with only 25,000 equivalent album units.

Looking further down the chart, the next four positions are occupied by former No. 1 albums. Moneybagg Yo’s first chart-topping album, A Gangsta’s Pain, clocks in at No. 2, while Morgan Wallen’s Dangerous: The Double Album holds still at No. 3. Justin Bieber’s Justice takes a step upward from No. 4 while Young Thug and YSL’s Slime Language 2 slipped down to No. 5

Young Thug is a Warner Music artist. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.
