Anitta’s “Girl From Rio” Gets The DaBaby Treatment

At the end of April, Brazillian singer Anitta released the catchy, summer-ready single “Girl From Rio,” and in less than a full month, the song’s official music video has already reached 21 million views on YouTube. To help push the song to even bigger heights, Grammy-nominated artist DaBaby has officially joined the remix of the bubbling global hit.

Set to the tune of an elevator jingle, Anitta and DaBaby’s new collaboration is a spicy and infectious track that leaves much of the original song intact while adding a quick and spirited verse from the Charlotte emcee. Now that the Brazillian singer has secured a cheeky verse from one of Hip-Hop’s biggest acts, it’s safe to say that even more fans are about to fall in love with the girl from Rio.

Listen to Anitta’s “Girl From Rio” remix with DaBaby below.

Quotable Lyrics

All this time invested in my elevation to the top
Got all of these haters wishin’ I would stop
In love with you, baby, wait, but maybe not
Like maybe I’m faithful, maybe I’m a thot
I’m in love with a girl that’s from Rio

Dark Lo & Harry Fraud Drop Off New Album “Borrowed Time”

Harry Fraud has been quietly holding it down with one of the year’s hardest production campaigns, and today that streak continues with the release of Borrowed Time, his new collaboration with Philadelphia rapper Dark Lo. Currently facing the possibility of nine years in prison for a charge of witness intimidation, Lo remains hellbent on moving forward, capitalizing on being out on bail by making his presence felt with a nine-track dose of raw hip-hop music.

With a pair of guests in Boldy James and AR-Ab, the stage largely belongs to Lo and Fraud, who showcase impressive chemistry across the twenty-five-minute endeavor. Opening track “Daily Prayers” sets the tone, with Lo firing off rugged bars over Fraud’s vintage guitar samples. “Premonition” finds the pair dabbling in a spookier street sound, a likely highlight for anyone who digs what the Griselda movement has been bringing to the table. Speaking of which, Boldy James is always welcome, his self-assured presence elevating “Missing Summers” into a project highlight.

Harry Fraud opened up about working with Dark Lo, a process that clearly inspired him on a creative level. “Getting to work with Lo on a full project was really important to me because it was an opportunity to showcase his versatility as an artist,” Harry Fraud explained in a press release. “When you hear his voice, he just brings something different, artistically, and in the way he carries himself. 100% authenticity in every aspect of his life; you can feel the passion he has in every bar he spits, it’s contagious.”

“This album is different from all of my previous projects because of where I am in my life, all that I have been through in the last year and a half. I have dealt with a lot of loss, it has been stressful, the ups and the downs,” adds Lo. “I finally was able to let everything that has been building up over the last year and change out, and that’s what this is here.”

Nicki Minaj’s Dress Is So Tight That It Looks Painted On

Nicki Minaj is officially back and she’s applying pressure on anybody that doubted her during her hiatus. As if her influence wasn’t already crystal clear, it was reported that she single-handedly boosted Crocs sales by 4,900% last week after sporting the shoes during her comeback tour on Instagram. Following the re-release of her debut mixtape Beam Me Up Scotty a week ago, Nicki has continued to drop gems on the ‘Gram, causing a tidal wave every time she posts a new picture online.

The Queen has broken necks with her latest eye-catching thirst traps, getting all dolled up in a black bikini with Chanel accessories a few days ago. On Friday, Nicki shared yet another recent photo of herself for her millions of adoring fans, bringing back one of her favorite looks with chopsticks in her bun. She stood next to her Chanel throne and wore a stunning black dress with floral designs. The garment needed to be strapped on her sides, which her stylist did an amazing job with– seriously, the dress fits her so well that it looks like it was painted on.

This has proven to be a fan favorite look from the Queen, impressing her Barbz yet again with her effortless style and grace.

Sada Baby, Big Sean, And Hit-Boy Throw A Mansion Bash In The Psychedelic ‘Little While’ Video

Detroit rapper Sada Baby first came to prominence with the fun-loving, goofy dances he did in the video for his breakout viral hit “Bloxk Party,” so it’s only right that he returns to such shenanigans in the video for “Little While,” which has even more potential for hit status — at least, algorithmically, thanks to its guest spots from Big Sean and Hit-Boy.

Much like the video for “Bloxk Party,” the clip for “Little While” revolves around a house party, except that now, the stakes and the budget are much higher, causing the venue to change up proportionally. Now, instead of an Airbnb, Sada’s shooting at massive mansions, complete with valets and check-ins, elaborate decorations, and a noticeable increase in the ratio of women to men, including a cameo from fellow emerging Detroit rap star Kash Doll (who should really get a verse on any potential remixes).

“Little While” is Sada’s second major foray into the techno-style drum programming that his hometown pioneered after “Whole Lotta Choppas,” which famously featured a Nicki Minaj verse on its remix.

Lloyd Banks Reveals What “COTI” Stands For

It’s no secret that Lloyd Banks is plotting his long-anticipated return with COTI, having been teasing the upcoming project with increasing frequency on social media. One week ago, the Punchline King shared a poetic trailer that effectively captured an intriguing vibe, albeit a cryptic one.

In it, a narrator muses about destiny among other profound themes. “We have been simply faded in our own existence,” he states. “But what do we say to the people who fear the choices they’ll have to make without any bit of guidance in this world? As if they already don’t have a sense of direction. If they’re not sure if it’s their time to shine or stray.”

Today, Lloyd Banks has confirmed that there’s more where that came from, delivering the full version of the trailer on his YouTube channel. Picking up where its predecessor left off, the narrator is revealed to be artist Rashan Brown, who continues his spoken word journey with increasing intensity. Before long, Brown is basically spitting bars, including an allusion to Banks’ classic debut. “This right here is New York’s finest,” he states. “Subway living / my pursuit of happiness and a silver lining / you tell Chris I got a Hunger For More and I’m on New York City time and my time is now.”

As the narration concludes, the beat finally drops and Banks appears, ready to put in work over the dark pianos and boom bap drums. It’s then that the acronym reveals itself: the Course of the Inevitable.

While it’s as of yet unclear as to how this Shatek King-directed video will ultimately tie into Banks’ upcoming project, it’s clear that we’re looking at something cinematic — not to mention deeply thematic — in nature. Check out the full trailer now, and sound off if you’re excited to see what Banks brings to the table when COTI drops in the imminent future. It is, after all, inevitable.

Russ Acknowledges His Flaws On “3:15 (Breathe)”

Disliking Russ used to be a running joke amongst rappers who arose during the SoundCloud Era, but contrary to the played-out antics of rappers like Lil Pump, the Shake The Snow Globe artist continues to prove his longevity and artistic capabilities with every new release.

Over the past month alone, Russ has treated fans with impressive singles like “Small Talk” and “STATUS,” and today, the independent artist has returned once more with an intense new single, titled “3:15 (Breathe).”

The somber track features two verses in which Russ takes turns deconstructing his partner’s issues and acknowledging his own flaws. Stitched together by a soulful sample of Ina Wroldsen’s vocal contribution on Jax Jones’ “Breathe,” Russ’s new single is an emotional and hard-hitting offering from the Atlanta artist.

Check out Russ’s new single “3:15 (Breathe)” below.

Quotable Lyrics

All I ever tried to do was help you understand and grow
Light the way for truths that if not for me simply wouldn’t show
Unless you get somebody else who’s on my level, but you know
That there’s no one on my level, you gon’ realize if you don’t

Derrick Rose Comments On Sixth Man Of The Year Nomination

Derrick Rose is one of those players that every single NBA fan roots for. Ever since his days with the Chicago Bulls, fans have wanted the best for Rose and his journey has been nothing short of inspirational. This season, Rose has been playing with the New York Knicks and he has helped the team get the fourth seed in the Eastern Conference. He is about to go to the playoffs for the first time in a couple of years and he may even win an award.

This past week, Rose was nominated for the sixth man of the year award, alongside Jordan Clarkson and Joe Ingles of the Utah Jazz. While speaking to reporter Ian Begley, Rose noted that while the nomination is pretty cool, he has much bigger things on his mind heading into the weekend.

“It’s cool, but it’s more cool being in the playoffs. Missed it for the last couple of years. Being back here, being in a market like this, it means a lot,” Rose explained.

Rose has been through a lot and if he can help the Knicks win just one playoff series, then he will be looked at as a hero in the city. For Knicks fans, this is a very exciting time and they can only hope for Rose to be back next year.
