Future & His Mother Believe BM Brittni Needs Prayers, She Claps Back

It was a quiet Tuesday (August 10) evening for Future until Brittni Mealy, the mother of his young son Prince Wilburn, shared a few screenshots to Instagram. Brittni and Future have had a contentious past as their private arguments have played out for a global social media audience, and their recent spat wasn’t any different. Brittni shared what looked to be a text exchange between Future and Prince where the rapper allegedly told the boy, “Your mother is a hoe!” and now he offers a brief response to the controversy.

Brittni addressed critics who accused her of lying for attention. “TF I GOT TO LIE FOR YOU SAID IT definitely your # and his SO STAND ON IT AND PIPE DOWN IF U DONT WANT THESE RECORDING POSTED!” she wrote on her Instagram Story.

“On GAWD YOU SAID IT THEY NEED TO CANCEL YOU. Cruelty to children! Haven’t seen him in 3 months but in the same State I can Keep Going!” Brittni added. “Got a refund on his school Clothes today! Petty cause someone Don’t wanna be sexually active with you and just want to co parent!!”

Future tweeted, “Pray for Her,” but his mother, Stephanie Jester, had a few more words for the rapper’s ex. “It’s sad when ppl can’t get their way so they turn to social media for attention,” wrote Jester. “No matter how much you give a person it’s never enough. We have to really pray for self-love because ppl take it out on everyone else.”

Brittni responded to Future’s mother on her Instagram Story, telling Jester to stay out of their business because Future is almost 40 years old with 11 or 12 kids by 11 or 12 different women. Brittni also accused Jester of saying Future was wrong when speaking behind the scenes but standing up for her son in public.

De La Soul Confirm Albums Will Arrive On Streaming Services This Year

Following the updates that De La Soul’s catalog will finally be added to streaming services, the group has confirmed the rumors. Hip Hop fans have long been begging for the iconic Rap trio to share their timeless albums with the masses, but like many other artists in the industry, Del La found themselves at odds with labels. Back in 2019, Tommy Boy Records first made attempts to release the group’s back catalog and when the news surfaced, De La Soul told their fans not to stream the albums. They were reportedly only set to receive 10 percent of streaming profits, and the controversy caused Tommy Boy to back away from their plans.

“Tommy Boy says they are ‘not in the business of giving artists back their Masters,'” De La wrote back in August 2019. “We realize, there is a process in reclaiming ownership but we do not trust Tommy Boy in this process after so many years of disappointment. Therefore, our catalog will not see the light of day by way of our involvement or consent.”

Earlier this year, Reservoir Media reportedly purchased Tommy Boy’s catalog for $100 million and made it clear that they wanted to help De La’s music reach the fans. In an Instagram Livestream, De La joined together to make the official announcement about their entire catalog being uploaded to Apple Music and Spotify.

“We have finally come down to a deal between ourselves and Reservoir Media to release our music in 2021,” said David “Trugoy” Jolicoeur. “There’s a lot of back work that needs to be done, so that’s why it’s taking a little time to get that out.” The trio expects that Hip Hop fans will be able to stream their catalog in November of this year.

This is another win for music lovers, as Aaliyah fans are also celebrating her albums coming to streaming services. This month marks 20 years since the singer died and it has been a painstaking effort to release her catalog. Check out De La Soul’s

Monica Reveals She’s Releasing A Country Album & Has Been “Welcomed” Into Genre

She’s known to be an R&B powerhouse who has delivered some of our favorite classic jams including “Angel of Mine,” “So Gone,” and “The Boy Is Mine” alongside Brandy, but it seems as if she’s looking to switch things up in the future. Monica was just a teen with an R&B dream when she first entered the industry, and now the award-winning icon tells Billboard that she’s readying a Country album.

Monica shared with the outlet that she is plotting the release of her first independent album Trenches—a project that she teased during her Verzuz appearance with Brandy last year. Trenches hasn’t even hit DSPs but that hasn’t stopped her music hustle as she continues to make magic in the studio.

The singer said that while growing up, she was inspired by Country icons like Kenny Rogers and Dolly Pardon. Monica recently made her Country debut alongside Jimmie Allen and Little Big Town on “Pray,” and she’s excited about making the big leap, like others have done in the industry, from one genre to another. Cue Nelly.

“I grew up loving country music and my stepfather, who raised me, is a Methodist minister, but he also drove buses and he would take us to Nashville, Gatlinburg, and Dollywood in Tennessee,” the singer stated. “I became a really big fan of Dolly Parton, at about eight or nine years old. That was my real introduction to country music.”

“Shortly after, it was Kenny Rogers. I started listening to the depth of the songs and the fact that they were unafraid to say whatever it was they felt. I felt like this was a great time for me to really step into an area that I’ve always admired and loved. We’re just getting started, but I have so enjoyed it and been welcomed with open arms.”

K. Michelle has attempted to break through in the Country scene for years and has partnered with several popular artists in Nashville. She hasn’t yet had the breakout that she has hoped for, but even her R&B fans continue to support her endeavors. Listen to “Pray” below.

Shekinah Jo Wants Sabrina Peterson’s Lawsuit Against T.I. & Tiny Tossed: Report

Earlier this year, Shekinah Jo Andersonentangled herself in the legal dispute between Sabrina Peterson, T.I.,  and Tameka “Tiny” Harris. In an attempt to defend the famous musical couple from the accusations laid by Peterson back in January, Shekinah got on video and stated, “[Peterson] wants Tiny. She obsessed with Tiny. She wants Tiny to be her girlfriend.” Shekinah also added fuel to the fire by saying, “Ask her what was going on when she was in the threesomes and foursomes. What about when she used to go get and recruit the hoes for ’em?”

A representative for T.I. and Tiny would later issue a statement denying the claims made about the couple. “Mr. and Mrs. Harris want to be on record and more importantly want the public to know they emphatically deny in the strongest way possible the egregiously appalling allegations being made against them by Sabrina Peterson. The Harrises have had difficulty with this woman for well over a decade. They are taking this matter very seriously,” they stated.

Later, Peterson filed a defamation lawsuit against T.I., Tiny, and Shekinah, citing that her reputation was allegedly smeared due to the scandal and because of remarks made by the trio. However, Radar Online reports that newly filed court documents show that Shekinah is demanding that the lawsuit filed by Peterson be tossed.

Her lawyer reportedly wrote, “Ms. Anderson’s alleged speech concerned public, criminal allegations that Ms. Peterson levied via social media, and in the traditional media, against mutual acquaintances the Harrises, who are international celebrities, and whose reputations and sexual conduct were put in issue in a public forum by Ms. Peterson.”

It was also noted that Shekinah doesn’t believe that Peterson can prove that the comments were “made in malice” and damaged her reputation because, in fact, Peterson’s following increased following the scandal. “Ms. Peterson increased her celebrity and social media following by ~100,000 people,” Anderson’s lawyer continued. Peterson has yet to respond.

Bonnaroo Says Proof Of Vaccination Or A Negative COVID-19 Test Will Be Required For Its Festival

Bonnaroo ran into a lot of trouble setting up the follow-up to their 2019 festival. The pandemic prevented organizers from hosting the showcase on the originally planned weekend of June 11-14, 2020. At first they delayed to September of that year, but they were soon forced to postpone until June 2021…before pushing it back for a third time, to September 2-5, 2021. Thankfully, the showcase will go as planned this year, but attendees will not be able to enter the venue without adhering to a new rule.

On Tuesday, the Tennessee-based festival announced new requirements for the showcase. “The safety of our patrons and staff is our number one priority,” organizers wrote in a statement. “As such a full COVID-19 vaccination or negative COVID-19 test will be required to attend Bonnaroo 2021.” This is the same rule that Chicago’s Lollapalooza implemented last month for their 2021 festival. “Bonnaroo strongly encourages vaccination,” the festival added. “The last day to receive the second shot of Moderna or Pfizer, or a single dose of Johnson and Johnson is Thursday, August 19th.”

For those who follow Bonnaroo’s new policy, they’ll be able to enjoy an impressive lineup that includes Tyler, the Creator, Young Thug, Megan Thee Stallion, Lil Baby, Run the Jewels, Kevin Gates, Tame Impala, J.I.D, and more.

Cardi B Finds It ‘Itchy’ That Some People Say They Don’t Shower

Social media often has a revolving door of trending topics, but there are those few moments where something comes out of left field. An example of that has been the recent uptick in celebrities admitting to rather unusual shower routines. It all started when Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher said they only bathe their children when “you can see the dirt on them.” Kristen Bell chimed in afterward and revealed she’s a “big fan of waiting for the stink. Once you catch a whiff, that’s biology’s way of letting you know you need to clean it up.” Jake Gyllenhaal later deemed bathing to be “less necessary, at times.”

The entire ordeal has left many with questions for their friends and favorite celebrities. This includes Cardi B who took to Twitter to share her reaction to those who don’t shower on a daily basis. “Wassup with people saying they don’t shower ?” she wrote with an arched eyebrow emoji, before adding, “It’s giving itchy.”

Cardi’s concerns are akin to that of many other people, but for what it’s worth, fans of The Rock and Jason Momoa can rest knowing that the actors are all for a good scrub to begin and/or end their day. The former pointed out that he’s “the opposite of a ‘not washing themselves’ celeb” as he showers three times a day in addition to exfoliating and singing “off key” in the shower. Momoa, on the other hand, had a simple response when he was asked about his shower routine. “I’m not starting any trends. I shower, trust me,” he replied. “I’m Aquaman. I’m in the f*cking water. Don’t worry about it. I’m Hawaiian. We got saltwater on me. We good.”
