This season of Megan Thee Stallion’s career seems to have more structure than her early days. As she’s shifted into superstardom, as well as covered herself under the management umbrella of Roc Nation, the Houston icon has become much more careful about the aspects of her life that she shares with the public. The scrutiny that has come with the shooting case involving former friend and peer Tory Lanez has aided in that move as Megan has often faced off with the public on social media.

The rapper acts as ESSENCE magazine’s latest cover feature and while chatting with the publication, Megan Thee Stallion posed as her alter ego Tina Snow and spoke openly about why she keeps her circle small.

“There are probably approximately four people around me on a daily basis,” she said. “I don’t see a lot of people, I don’t talk to a lot of people, because I feel like it’s not good for me. I figured out that my personal space is what keeps me balanced and it’s what keeps me centered.”

Megan consistently works with producer Lil Ju Made Da Beat and he’s responsible for many of her fan favorites, but others in the industry including Bun B and Juicy J have also taken note of the Southern rapper’s successes. Megan wouldn’t offer up much information about her forthcoming album, but she did give a hint as to what fans could expect.

“I feel like [my new album] will be aggressive,” she says. “I feel like this project is definitely something very well thought out. This project is me talking my sh–, getting back comfortable with myself, getting back to the Megan that was on the come-up.” Check out a few images from the feature below.

He doesn’t mince words when it comes to giving his peers their deserved credit, and Drake is known to lavish Rick Ross with compliments. In the past, Drake has gone on record to praise The Roots, Bow Wow, Kodak Black, MF Doom, Post Malone, and several other artists in the industry, but his relationship with Rick Ross is unlike the others. 

The pair of hitmakers have worked together on tracks like “No New Friends,” “Pop That,” “Gold Roses,” “Made Men,” “Stay Schemin,” “Lemon Pepper Freestyle,” and “Aston Martin Music,” and fans are waiting to see Rozay’s name included on the tracklist to Drizzy’s Certified Lover Boy.

Recently, Drake showed that he was entertaining both Ross and his latest OVO Sound signee Smiley and he bestowed them with pretty hefty titles. The Rap mogul posted a clip to his Instagram Story with the caption, “The greatest rapper alive met my favorite rapper alive,” he said of Ross and Smiley, respectively.

Drake has long boasted about being a fan of Smiley’s music and weeks ago was featured on his single, “Over the Top.” Fans are excited to hear what they cook up in the OVO camp, especially as Rick Ross and Drake tease a potential joint album, but until then check out Drake’s posts below.

He boasts awards from BET and Billboard and has even been nominated for a Grammy, but this latest accomplishment is one that Meek Mill holds near. Aside from his accomplishments in the music industry, Meek has been a leading advocate in the criminal justice reform arena and helped co-found the REFORM Alliance with Michael Rubin and Jay-Z. They work together with others in entertainment, politics, and law enforcement with the hopes of revamping or eliminating certain restrictions and mandates upheld within the system, particularly pertaining to parole and probation.

Meek’s efforts have not gone unnoticed he even partnered with Virginia Governor Ralph Northam regarding reforming the state’s probation bill, and today (August 12), the rapper shared that his moves have been recognized by the Nelson Mandela Foundation.

The Philadelphia rapper shared a photo of his award to Instagram along with a “Dream Chasers” necklace. “Blessings.. I got ‘the Nelson Mandela humanitarian award’ Thankyou Rip to the great Nelson Mandela,” he wrote. “I ain’t grow up playing ball I had a smith & western* because where I’m from it’s very hard to turn 27′ #survivors.”

Tory Lanez saw the post chimed in to correct Meek by commenting that the correct name is “Smith & Wesson,” and it didn’t go unnoticed by the rapper. “@torylanez It’s called ‘meek flow’ say congrats or something weirdo lol,” he replied. Congrats to Meek Mill! Check it out below.

With the Nike Dunk Low and High resurgence in full swing, Nike has been delivering some incredible sneaker colorways to the market, and fans have been copping as many as they can. There is no doubt just how popular these silhouettes are, and with the Fall just a month away, what better time to cop some new kicks than now?

While various Nike Dunk Lows have been shown off, Nike has also been showcasing the Dunk High. The latest Dunk High to get some teasers online this “Villanova” colorway that is meant to pay homage to the infamous basketball school. The reference to the school is quite obvious here as we have a white leather base, all while the overlays are Navy blue. These elements come together to create a clean aesthetic that is sure to turn some heads.

He is a hitmaking producer who has worked with some of the hottest artists in Rap, but Southside is catching heat from his ex. Many are familiar with Southside’s relationship with Yung Miami and know that the famous former couple share an adorable daughter named Summer, but that isn’t Southside’s only child. The megaproducer also reportedly shares a son, seven-year-old RJ, with a woman named Ashley, and she recently called him out on social media for allegedly not taking care of his financial responsibilities. 

Ashley reportedly launched a GoFundMe campaign to ask the public for their help. She wrote on GoFundMe that the pandemic has caused her to be out of work and she’s now caring for her daughter full-time as the 10-year-old is diabetic.

“Times have been hard for us this year with maintaining bills and putting food on the table,” she wrote. “My son’s father is a wealthy producer named Southside 808mafia who refuses to send support payments for his 7 year old son. He knows this is his son and has stopped supporting since I am seeking child support through the courts because he IS NOT consistent with helping his son with his half.”

On her Instagram Story, Ashley said it’s “unfortunate that this has to happen like this online” but she claimed she didn’t have a choice because she has been “struggling” for so long. “For my kid’s father @808mafiaboss to not be able to assist something for my son’s education as far as supplies and clothes is upsetting.”

Ashley said Southside “can do all the flexing on Instagram” but can’t take the time to “send a box of clothes and supplies from walmart or target.” Read through it all below.

Throughout his NBA career, Kyle Korver was one of the best and most consistent three-point shooters. He is top five on the all-time three-pointers made list, and while he will eventually be passed by some younger stars, there is no doubt that he left his mark on the league. In fact, Korver is extremely respected by his former teammates, and while he was a journeyman in the late stages of his career, there were always teams who wanted him on the roster.

Now that he is officially finished with the limelight of the NBA, Korver has been looking to take his talents to the world of coaching. There are plenty of teams that need assistants and advisors like Korver as former players always know how to relate to today’s stars.

According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, Korver will now be getting his coaching role as he has been named the player development assistant coach for the Brooklyn Nets. The Nets are championship contenders and with James Harden, Kyrie Irving, and Kevin Durant on the roster, there is no doubt they have a chance at the title. As for Korver, he will have an opportunity to help build up the rest of the roster and get this team in a position to have some of the best depth in the league.

This is certainly a big opportunity for Korver who could use this as a jumping-off point for a full-on coaching career. Either way, this is promising to be a solid move for all sides involved.

In just two weeks, Love & Hip Hop Miamiis set to return to small screens, but this off-camera, real-life drama may be more captivating than what producers can come up with. In the early seasons, Christopher Harty, who calls himself “Prince” or the “Fresh Prince of South Beach,” can be seen boasting about his nightclub antics while arguing with women about alleged infidelities. The controversial reality star has also been known to call out Tory Lanez, often taking to social media in hopes of the rapper-singer responding to his requests for a boxing match.

On Wednesday (August 11), Harty was reportedly arrested in Miami in what authorities are calling a domestic violence incident that occurred on July 22.

The alleged victim has not been named in reports, but WPLG Local 10 News in Miami reported that she has been dating Harty “since May 2020.” On the date in question, she told investigators that she visited his apartment to return his shoes. When he opened the door, she admitted to tossing the shoes at Harty, and alleged that he grabbed her by her backpack and pulled her inside of his home. 

She accuses Harty of slamming her to the floor before punching her in the mouth, smacking her in the back of her head “with an open hand,” dragging her by her hair, and keeping her from leaving. It is unclear how the alleged victim was able to escape, but it is reported that Harty’s neighbors saw her and helped her down the stairwell as far as the 14th floor where she attempted to get into an elevator. However, once the door opened, Harty was standing inside, and when he saw her, he attempted to grab her once again but she dodged him.

The neighbors were still with her and kept Harty from getting to the woman and once she was able to make it to the lobby, she called the authorities. She reportedly has “minor scratches and bruises on several parts of her body, including her lip, neck, chest, arms, and legs.”

Meanwhile, Harty’s attorney Michael Grieco seemingly blamed the victim for the altercation and asserted that she was the aggressor.

“She just showed up right at his door. We can’t speculate how she got in the building. We have photographs of her footprint on the door showing she was not there for a social call and things went sideways,” Grieco said. “I can’t speak to what happened. But I can tell you there was no kidnapping.” He also claims that Harty has injuries, as well.

Harty appeared in court on Thursday (August 12) and wept during the hearing. He reportedly faces charges of battery and kidnapping and is being held in lieu of the $25K bond.

One of the biggest silhouettes of the year has been the Nike Dunk Low. This iconic model has been seeing a huge resurgence amongst fans and as a result, there have been various new colorways making their way to the market. With the fall just a month away, Nike is ready to deliver up some neutral colors, and on the “Grey Fog” offering below, that is exactly what they do.

In the images below, you can see that this shoe is looking to keep things exceptionally clean. The majority of the upper is white leather, all while the overlays and Nike swoosh is grey. This is one of those basic colorways that you simply can’t ignore, especially since it can go with pretty well anything. Even if you’re not a Dunk Low fan, these should definitely be on your watchlist.

For now, it is believed that these will be dropping at some point during September although this information has yet to be confirmed by Nike. It is a new decade of life for former President Barack Obama. America’s 44th Commander-in-Chief rang in his 6oth birthday on August 4, so he decided to host a star-studded event at Martha’s Vineyard. It has been reported that the Obamas scaled down their event due to COVID-19 health concerns, but attendees were gifted with custom face masks.

Although there was reportedly a “no photography” rule set in place for guests, Erykah Badu broke protocol and uploaded a short clip of herself while highlighting others in the background.

Her video showed the former President holding a microphone and doing his little two-step on stage before giving H.E.R. a hug. Badu would later delete the post, but the internet had already taken screen-recording and shared it with the world. On Thursday (August 12), the award-winning singer issued a formal-informal apology to the Obamas via Twitter.

“Mr. And Mrs. Obama , Please forgive me 4 being the ‘terrible guest ‘ at such a sacred event for your family,” wrote Badu. “I was so inconsiderate, Thank you for all your love. What an example of ‘how NOT ‘ to be …… erica.” We’re sure they welcomed the apology with open arms.
