August Alsina References Being “Tangled Up” in New Single “Shake the World”

August Alsina

August Alsina is trying to bring back the entanglement talk. The singer and ex-bae of Jada Pinkett Smith has released a new single titled “Shake the World,” and he made sure to weave in “tangled up” in one of the verses.

“’Cause goddamn it, that’s right
I shake the world I heard it’s some s–t that’s bound
To go down when you got
A billion dollars on the elevator
Well, of course some s–t was bound to go down
When you tangled up with the world’s favorite”

“Tangled up” references the infamous entanglement moment, which Pinkett Smith called her romance with Alsina.

Following Chris Rock being slapped by Will Smith at the Oscars, August Alsina hit Instagram with a special message. The R&B singer shared a selfie with the message of choosing peace.

“choose peace, trusting that life’s intricate puzzle peices are all forming together for the greater good and mastering of the seasonally sometime chaotic nature of your lifes art piece that’s being formed and painted by birthing life to your internal masterpiece, grown through external chaos-metamorphosing alchemy, dark turned 2 light and beauty within, Then turned Master.”

The Weeknd and Swedish House Mafia Named as Coachella Replacements for Kanye West

The Weeknd's 'Dawn FM' Surpasses 500 Million Streams

Kanye West was scheduled to perform at Coachella starting next weekend. After he pulled out, The Weeknd and Swedish House Mafia will now headline the Sunday sets.

On Thursday, announcers revealed the two acts. According to Page Six, The Weeknd demanded to be paid the same that West was. Reports state Kanye was being paid $8 million for the two performances and would also receive a $500,000 production budget.

Page Six notes Phil Anschutz, the owner of Coachella, wanted to pay The Weeknd far less. After announcing The Weeknd as a replacement, The Weeknd threatened to pull out if he didn’t get the same deal. Anschutz and his company agreed to pay the same money.

The Weekend just dropped the music video for “Out Of Time,” the latest single from his critically praised album DAWN FM, a few days ago. Cliqua directed the video, which starred Jim Carrey, who is also featured in the song, and South Korean model and actress HoYeon Jung.

The Weeknd’s earlier songs “Blinding Lights” and “Starboy” were also certified by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). With these certifications, The Weeknd becomes only the sixth solo artist to get three diamond digital single awards.

Kanye West Loses at $8 Million Bag by Not Performing at Coachella

Kanye West Italian Wedding

Kanye West has decided to not host the Grammys, leaving organizers with a void to fill. With his decision, YE is walking away from an $8 million payday.

TMZ provided another update on YE’s decision and revealed the $8 mil he was supposed to be paid for the performances on April 17 and April 24. In addition, YE had a $500,000 production fee.

With less than two weeks to go before he was set to stage, Kanye West pulled out of Coachella. In response, Coachella organizers reveal they had no clue YE would pull out, but state they are not upset.

According to TMZ, Coachella planners have not found a replacement for the DONDA creator but also have no anger toward West’s decision to drop out. Instead, the organizers have expressed that they want YE to get better.

In an insane plot twist, Coachella organizers found out YE was pulling out via TMZ like the general public. A formal reason for YE’s withdrawal was not given.

Kanye West was to join Billie Eilish and Harry STyles as headliners.

TMZ notes Travis Scott was scheduled to join Ye on stage during the performance, which is also believed to be called off.

Travis Scott was scheduled to participate in the 2022 festival but was pulled after the Astroworld Tragedy that claimed the lives of 10 people and injured over 300 others.

Summer Smash Festival has announced the full music lineup for this year’s three-day music festival, which will take place in Chicago, Illinois, from Friday, June 17 to Sunday, June 19. Headliners for this year’s edition include Post Malone, Young Thug, Gunna, and Playboi Carti.

Summer Smash Festival, founded by two Chicago-based music powerhouses – concert promoter SPKRBX and next-gen media business Lyrical Lemonade – has evolved into one of the country’s largest independent music events, with 90,000 attendance last summer. Summer Smash will shortly return to its regular dates in mid-June, bringing the festival’s most stacked lineup to date, packed to the brim with today’s biggest hip-hop names.

The festivities will begin on Friday with a headlining performance by Grammy Award-winning rap pioneer Young Thug, who will be joined by fellow YSL Records labelmate Gunna for the Atlanta-based rap duo’s first-ever full-set collaborative performance; and will conclude on Saturday night with a performance by singer/songwriter Post Malone, who is one of the highest-selling music artists of the past quarter-century and is preparing to release his next album later this year. Following his recent “Album of the Year” nomination at the 2022 Grammy Awards in recognition of his efforts to Kanye West’s critically praised project Donda, enigmatic emcee Playboi Carti will help finish out the three-day festival on Sunday night.

Additional weekend performances include cloud rap, southern hip-hop, trap, drill, West Coast, and more, with first-time Summer Smash appearances from Wiz Khalifa, Polo G, Rico Nasty, Oliver Tree, 2 Chainz, and Ohgeesy, as well as the Chicago debut of emerging rap artist Yeat. Other notable artists include Trippie Redd, Ski Mask The Slump God, Lil Tecca, and $not, among many others, who are helping to complete the 2022 schedule.

“Today marks an exciting milestone for Summer Smash as we unveil our biggest music lineup to date. It’s been incredible to witness our fest grow into one of the largest annual music events in the country in only four short years”, said Summer Smash Festival Director and SPKRBX Founder Berto Solorio. “Our team is always striving to improve and elevate the festival experience, so we can’t wait to show our fans what we have in store this summer including bigger music acts performing on bigger stages, plus more food trucks, improved amenities, and more art installations than ever before. We’ve leveled up the entire experience.”

Tickets for the three-day GA and VIP events will go on sale this Friday, April 8, at 10:00 a.m. CST at www.TheSummerSmash.com.

West Coast/G-Funk legend Warren G sat down with Talib Kweli for his ‘Peoples Party’ podcast, where the production pioneer talked about being affiliated with Death Row Records, but not actually signing to the label.

Warren explained how things got heated when Suge found out that Warren warned the label’s premiere artist Snoop Dogg not to sign the Death Row contract without getting it reviewed by an attorney.

He said, “I told Snoop ‘No, don’t sign that. You don’t know what you’re signing. You gotta get a lawyer to look at that stuff.’ And I was a young buck saying this!”

Warren said when Suge came for him, “He was like, ‘Aye, blood! Where Warren G at?!’ And I was like, ‘Sh*t, what’s up?’ He said, ‘Aye, blood. You told them not to sign that contract?!’ I took off! But the only way you could get down was the elevator, so I’m at the elevator like [hurriedly pressing the button]. He grabbed me and pushed me up against the wall and was like, ‘You told them not to sign that contract, blood?!’”
