Tory Lanez was recently sentenced to 10 years in prison for the July 2020 shooting of Megan Thee Stallion but Boosie Badazz said he should consider himself lucky.
Always adding his two cents, the Baton Rouge rapper took to Instagram Live to react to the verdict.
“I think he came out good, bro,” Boosie said while filming himself behind the wheel. “I don’t know how California work. I think he’ll only do five [years] — that’s state time. Shit… in Louisiana, that n-gga woulda did 40, n-gga. A crime on a woman? Highly televised? 40, n-gga. No cap.
“I got 10 for a third offense marijuana, n-gga. Straight to Angola, n-gga. Not even off of rehab. He lucky he wasn’t in Louisiana, boy. I think state time, you only do nothing but half. Five years. He’ll do three years, a lil’ paper, he be back out, stronger than ever … You can’t take his talent away, bro. He’ll be back.”
This weekend, Kai Cenat was arrested in New York City during a Playstation 5 giveaway. The social media promoted giveback drew thousands of raving fans looking to connect with the popular streamer. This morning, BBC News reported that the New York City Police Department plans to charge Cenat with multiple counts of inciting a riot and unlawful assembly.
The event was described as an episode, which began shortly after 3 p.m. and was effectively over by 6 p.m., resulted in 65 arrests (nearly half of them of juveniles); injuries to officers and some of those in the crowd; and damage to food carts, police vehicles, and stores, officials said.
NYPD also claimed that Cenat had no permit to do the giveaway and declared the event a “Level four” mobilization, meaning approximately 1,000 officers were deployed to the scene. The famous Twitch star is out of custody and will await updates on his charges in the following weeks.
Following Cenat’s arrest, multiple rappers supported him on social media. NLE Choppa said, “Y’all don’t even charge the KKK When they do that negative shit but charge a successful black man for giving back. The system so designed for us to fail it doesn’t make sense”! He followed his initial post by saying, “I ain’t saying what he did what’s done correctly, course, it’s something he could’ve done better, but his intentions were pure that’s all that matter, he wanted to help, give back, inspire, and most importantly spread love.”
Offset also posted on social media asserting, “How you lock Kai up for giving back to his fans….New York be tripping”! Shortly after, DDG tweeted, “Free them AMP boys.” Cenat’s team has yet to comment following the arrest.
How you lock Kai up for giving back to his fans….New York be trippin!!!

Audiomack and Love Renaissance (LVRN) have joined forces in a groundbreaking partnership to revolutionize the music industry. LVRN, the Atlanta-based record label and management company, will now utilize Audiomack’s cutting-edge ArtistRank system to discover and nurture emerging artists, molding them into the stars of tomorrow.
Unlike traditional analytical tools, ArtistRank focuses on engagement metrics rather than just play growth, enabling partners like LVRN to identify artists building a loyal fanbase with long-term potential accurately. It provides detailed data on fan demographics and predictive insights, charting an artist’s future growth trajectory.
“LVRN’s pulse on the culture and emphasis on the global music scene aligns perfectly with the foundational pillars of Audiomack,” said Ryan Philip, Manager, Music & Data Partnerships at Audiomack. “Powered by ArtistRank, this partnership will shed light on artists worldwide building loyal, dedicated fanbases.”
“We’re thrilled to announce our partnership with Audiomack,” said Tunde Balogun, LVRN co-founder and President. “Last year, LVRN set out to discover and nurture talent from all over the world. We’ve been fortunate to manage successful campaigns with global acts like Davido and SPINALL, so we knew there was more we could do to achieve our goal on the label side. This partnership is a significant step forward for LVRN, and we can’t wait to see what kind of talent we’ll uncover together.”
Audiomack’s successful implementation of ArtistRank has already amplified several rising global acts on its platform, including Asake, 1Da Banton, and Byron Messia. The collaboration with LVRN will go a step further, developing tailor-made marketing strategies, initiatives, and promotions for budding talents.
Justice Baiden, co-founder of LVRN, added: “Our focus and intention on being a global company continue with this partnership with Audiomack. In a crowded music landscape, the ArtistRank tool will help us to spread our wings and allows us to get behind quality artists sooner and support them in whatever capacity they need.”
This partnership marks a continuation of Audiomack and LVRN’s previous collaboration in May, where LVRN’s co-founder, Justice Baiden, participated in STAMPED, a contest and playlist series on Audiomack that highlighted emerging artists and paired them with music industry’s top executives. With this innovative alliance, the music industry can expect to witness the rise of a new generation of music superstars.

In commemoration of So So Def’s 30th anniversary, GRAMMY® Award-winning producer, songwriter, hip-hop artist, author, and DJ, Jermaine Dupri officially announced So So Def Festival, a celebration of hip-hop and R&B music.
The multi-day festival will feature performances from world-renowned artists who have collaborated with the mega hitmaker over the last 30 years. The two-day live music event will take place on October 7th from 12 PM – 11 PM ET and October 8th from 12 PM – 10 PM ET in Atlanta’s infamous Central Park.
Jermaine Dupri, a member of the Songwriters Hall of Fame, is one of the most successful producers in the music industry. He has established a prolific career as a hip-hop artist, award-winning producer, songwriter, author, DJ, and CEO of So So Def, which he founded in 1993.
Last month Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs filed a lawsuit against his former business partner, Diageo Beverages, accusing them of using discriminatory practices when marketing his liquor brands.
Diddy’s attorney John C. Hueston released a statement that read:
“Diageo attempting to end its deals with Mr. Combs is like firing a whistleblower who calls out racism. It’s a cynical and transparent attempt to distract from multiple allegations of discrimination. Over the years, he has repeatedly raised concerns as senior executives uttered racially insensitive comments and made biased decisions based on that point of view.”
He added, “Diageo even acknowledged the problem by agreeing in his contract to treat DeLeon the same way it treated their other tequila brands. He brought the lawsuit to force them to live up to that contract, and instead, they respond by trying to get rid of him. This lawsuit and Mr. Combs are not going away.”
The partnership between Combs and the Diageo dates all the way back to 2007. The music icon’s Combs Spirits reportedly accrued nearly $1 billion over its 15-year affiliation.
Now Diddy is accusing Diageo of illegal retaliation for cutting ties with him after he filed his lawsuit…
NY Post reports:
Sean “Diddy” Combs accused his business partner Diageo of “illegal retaliation” on Wednesday, heightening the legal battle between the mogul musician and the spirits conglomerate.
Diageo, which had distributed the rapper’s Ciroc vodka and DeLeon tequila brands, moved to cut ties with Combs last month after he filed a suit accusing the company of racism in the promotion and distribution of his liquor labels.
“The message is clear — if you dare to shed light on Diageo’s conduct, you will be punished,” Combs’ lawyers said in documents filed in New York State Supreme Court on Wednesday and obtained by The Post.
Diageo, the world’s largest spirits company, has asked the court to toss the lawsuit.
However, the filing called Diageo’s motion to dismiss the case “smoke and mirrors,” and asked the court to ignore the request.
“While Diageo has self-servingly misrepresented the goals of Combs’s lawsuit in the press, its attempt to retaliate against Combs for asserting his legal rights will not work in court,” Combs’ lawyer John Hueston said.
A Diageo spokesperson told The Post: “This is a business dispute and should not be recast as anything other than that.”
The company insisted it had the contractual right “to terminate the marketing services agreement in place for Ciroc and begin the wind down of the DeLeón joint venture.”
“Our actions are consistent with our desire to protect the significant investment we have made in both brands and their future growth. Mr. Combs’ longstanding bad faith actions, false accusations and breaches of contract overwhelmingly support Diageo’s justified decision to sever ties,” the spokesperson said.

He was very close to my brother, Otis III, who passed away in April, and credits him with teaching him to make beats. JD aligns with Otis Redding’s spirit and the Foundation’s mission to inspire and empower young artists.”
“The Reddings and Otis III became my musical family before the world knew of Jermaine Dupri,” stated Jermaine. “While I understand the family is honoring me, in my mind, I am also honoring them for all they have allowed me to do, see and be a part of at a time when they didn’t have to.”
