Beyonce Accused Of Ripping Off Package Design For Her Hair Care Brand

Last month, Beyonce announced her new hair care venture Cecred. Fans were initially disappointed by the announcement as they were hoping for some new music. Little did they know at the time that Beyonce was about to turn around and make a huge announcement a few weeks later. Most of the attention directed at the singer now has to do with her upcoming new album RENAISSANCE Act II. The album’s lead single “TEXAS HOLD EM” currently sits at number one on the Hot 100.

But fans haven’t forgotten entirely about Cecred, though that may be for the wrong reasons. That’s because someone pointed out how much the packaging of the brand reminds them of another brand, New Zealand’s TWYG. “The first image is the newly launched CÉCRED the haircare brand from Beyoncé. The second image is a New Zealand-based skincare brand TWYG, which I shared on a work WhatsApp group back in November. There is a stark similarity, let’s be honest both are aesthetically pleasing, impactful but horrifically over packaged,” the post reads. While it doesn’t make a direct accusation of copying, the pictures provided caused fans to jump to that conclusion. Check out the original post below.

Beyonce’s Hair Care Line Called Out

One of the designers being TWYG took notice of the post and responded. “As the designer behind TWYG skincare’s brand and packaging, launched in June 2023, I couldn’t help but feel a pang of deep disappointment upon discovering Beyoncé’s recent hair care packaging,” she commented. “Over the span of 18 months, my team poured countless hours into TWYG, with a significant portion of that time dedicated to crafting the custom-formed lids,” she further explained.

Beyonce’s new album is due out on March 29th. Fans are curious just how thoroughly she will explore the sounds of country music present on the album’s first two singles. What do you think of Beyonce’s new hair care line being accused of stealing from a smaller brand? Do you think the similarities are a bit too suspicious? Let us know in the comment section below.

Mathew Knowles Blasts Haters For Criticizing Beyonce’s Hair Care Line

Beyonce’s new hair line Cécred is getting a lot of positive excitement from fans… yet not everyone’s on board. Moreover, a lot of folks pointed out that she wears extensions, and thus questioned what she really knows about natural hair. In addition to this, folks had other criticisms of the superstar’s initiative concerning her supposedly taking advantage of this business for her gain without really knowing much about it. However, this is all just speculative, and her father doubled down on this. TMZ caught up with Mathew Knowles in New York City recently and asked him about the hair care company.

“I know nothing about the hair care line,” Mathew Knowles said of Beyonce’s latest move in business and pop culture. “We [he and his then-wife Tina Knowles] had a salon. I don’t know what to tell you but, you know, we had a hair salon for 17 years, and it was the top hair salon in Houston. Uh, must have some credibility, right? Seventeen years, top hair salon. I’ll let you guys figure it out.” It’s clear that the Destiny’s Child manager wants for folks to just see this skill for themselves rather than make assumptions.

However, speaking of Destiny’s Child -– and responding to backlash -– Mathew Knowles also spoke on another member’s recent controversy. TMZ also asked him about Kelly Rowland supposedly walking out of The Today Show because her dressing room was too small. “Oh, Kelly is a sweetheart,” he replied when confronted about whether or not he thinks she would do something like that. Kelly lived with us, I look at Kelly as my daughter. I don’t know what happened, but I can tell you one thing I do know. She’s not a diva, she’s a sweetheart, and that’s all I know! I don’t keep up with it like I used to.”

Meanwhile, other folks are walking back their criticisms of Queen Bey for other reasons. Joe Budden recently apologized for refusing to speak on her new country singles. We’ll see if there’s a similar turnaround on Cécred. On that note, check back in with HNHH for the latest news and more updates on Beyoncé and her father Mathew Knowles.

Beyonce Shares A Teaser For Her New Haircare Line “Cecred”

Fans are hoping that the break between Renaissance and Beyonce’s next album won’t be anything like the break between it and its 2016 predecessor Lemonade. Many are still holding out for visuals from the album after a video leaked online earlier this week. The video was green screen footage of what looks like the singer recording some kind of music video or visuals of something. So when she shared a new announcement video for something else entirely fans were let down at first but ultimately intrigued.

In the video Bey shared, it cuts together people doing a variety of haircare with what looks like recordings of home movies. It isn’t even entirely clear what the products specifically are. The caption doesn’t prove particularly helpful. “Hair is sacred. The journey begins Feb 20. Visit CECRED.COM” the caption reads. Though specifics aren’t included fans have speculated that it could include anything from shampoo and conditioner or even some kind of dyes. But many of the comments are more focused on what Beyonce isn’t announcing than what she is. Check out the trailer below.

Beyonce Drops A Teaser For Her Haircare Line

In the comments, fans seem disappointment. “ima just assume the live album is inside the box of shampoo” one of the top comments on the post reads. “So what are you gonna say at my funeral now that you’ve killed me?” another, more dramatic fan agrees. Clearly many watching the video were hoping for a more musical announcement from Bey.

Beyonce had a few notable moments at the Grammys over the weekend. There were rumors that she might perform during the show and even do a tribute to Tina Turner, but that ultimately didn’t happen. When Jay-Z went on-stage to accept his Global Impact Award he called out the Grammys directly. In one particular moment he pointed out that despite being the winningest artist of all time, Bey has never won the Album Of The Year Award. What do you think of Beyonce’s announcement of a haircare line? Do you agree with fans who were hoping for Bey to announce visuals or new music? Let us know in the comment section below.
