Coldplay is currently making its way through Australia and New Zealand on the Music Of The Spheres tour. The band generated a bit of attention for their November 10 performance, when they unexpectedly busted out a brief rendition of Travis Scott’s “Goosebumps,” with Chris Martin calling it his favorite of Scott’s songs (here’s a video).
The moment made its way back to Scott, who seems to have enjoyed it: He shared the clip and wrote on X (formerly Twitter), “This got it. [goat emoji].”
Scott has long had reverence for the band, going as far as to reference Coldplay on multiple songs. On 2016’s “Way Back,” he says, “Hopped in the Bronco, skrrt off like OJ / Flew with that sound, n****, got that Coldplay.” He again nodded to the band on last year’s “Til Further Notice”, saying, “I been bumpin’ more Coldplay, the world cold as sh*t / I know one thing ’bout the old one, can have more fun with it.”
In other Music Of The Spheres tour news, Martin recently had a bit of an on-stage gaffe, when he fell into a hole in the stage. He played it off, saying, “That’s, uh, not planned. Thank you for catching me, so much, thank you guys. Holy sh*t, that’s going to be a YouTube moment.”
Travis Scott is as much of a brand as an artist these days, what with his PlayStation, McDonald’s, Fortnite, and many, many more collabs. His most recent crossover into the commercial space (literally for a commercial) comes via the new trailer for Disney+’s Goosebumps. Moreover, the five-episode show (premiering October 13) will focus on a teacher possessed by an evil force, and the efforts of five teen friends to solve a decades-old murder mystery. For fans of R.L. Stine’s original book series, this is far from the first adaptation rodeo, with the most recent mainstream one being a Jack Black-starring film.
Still, a little boost from Travis Scott’s biggest song ever, the aptly placed “goosebumps,” gave this trailer a unique feel. Well, unique might be generous, as it’s a bit bizarre to get sucked into a horror-style show and then hear trap snares and bass in the background. Regardless, it’s an obvious pick to soundtrack this show’s trailer, and one that’s wild to see actually manifest. When La Flame’s song came out in 2016, few people could’ve predicted the impact and popularity it would achieve.
Travis Scott Gives This Disney+ Trailer “Goosebumps”
What’s more is that Travis Scott might be looking forward to some more collaborations in the future. These ones, though, have nothing to do with another brand or some promotional opportunity to secure a bag. Furthermore, we’re talking about his next musical releases, namely on Offset’s next album and with Playboi Carti. The Opium MC previewed a song with the Houston native at his birthday bash, which have fans begging for another hit from the “FE!N” duo. Of course, considering that he just dropped UTOPIA, we’re happy to just get feature verses for now as he completes his victory lap.
Meanwhile, it’ll be interesting to see if “goosebumps” actually shows up in the Goosebumps series. Did they just pay for the trailer use or are they going to really emphasize the big partnership that much? Either way, it’s an odd placement for a wavy song on a creepy product, but if anyone can make it hype, it’s the Rodeo artist. The first day of Rolling Loud’s 2022 Miami Festival was a bit rocky for a couple of reasons. First, Kanye West, who was supposed to headline the first day but canceled at the last second, still appeared at the show as a guest during Lil Durk’s set. Elsewhere, Kid Cudi made an early exit from his headlining slot after fans refused to stop throwing objects at him. Day two proved to be a bit better, and the highlight of the day came when Future brought out Travis Scott to perform some songs during his headlining slot.

The two kicked things off with a performance of “Hold That Heat,” a record by producer Southside that both Future and Travis guest featured on. Elsewhere, Travis also performed “Goosebumps,” and he seemed extremely happy to be back performing on the big stage during it. Travis even lent some vocals to Future as he performed “March Madness.”
Travis’ surprise Rolling Loud appearance comes after the festival denied that he was banned from the Miami show. Furthermore, a spokesperson for Rolling Loud said that the festival even tried to have Travis headline the show, but it proved to be too difficult to do with too little time. “We reached out to Travis to headline Rolling Loud, but it couldn’t work in such a short time,” the spokesperson said. “This had nothing to do with any restrictions from the hosting venue Hard Rock Stadium.”
