Ice Spice Responds To Being Among The Most-Searched Artists Of The Year

Ice Spice has had a major year. The 23-year-old MC skyrocketed to the top of the charts with her high-profile collabs, becoming on of the most talked about celebrities of 2023. She’s even found herself in the running for multiple Grammy awards, which is quite the feat considering how new she is to the industry.

The Bronx native teamed up with Nicki Minaj, Taylor Swift, and more, with her tracks dominating social media. Despite this, Ice Spice has managed to stay humble, which is one of the things that fans love about her. With that being said, Google recently unveiled a list of their most-searched celebrities of the year. She ranks at No. 2, just behind Jason Aldean. Other artists to make the list included Sexyy Red, Peso Pluma, Kim Petras, Sam Smith, and more.

Ice Spice Blames “Nosey” Fans

She shared her cheeky response to the news on Twitter earlier this week. “Nosey much ?” she simply asked. It looks like the “Munch” performer plans to continue her streak of capturing internet users’ attention in the new year, too. Back in November, she took to Instagram to tease a new project she has on the way. “Y2K! ?/?/24,” she captioned the carousel. While she didn’t share many more details of what she has in store for fans, it’s safe to say that they can’t wait.

Ice Spice was obviously one of the internet’s biggest celebrity crushes this year, but that doesn’t mean she doesn’t have crushes of her own. During a recent conversation with Doja Cat, she revealed that the first celebrity she ever set her sights on was Usher. She finally got to see the R&B icon in person at the Met Gala this year, and was taken aback by how “gorgeous” he is. What do you think of Ice Spice’s reaction to learning she was among the most-searched celebrities of 2023? Share your thoughts in the comments section down below, and keep an eye on HNHH for more updates.

Ice Spice And Sexyy Red Were Some Of The Most Searched Trends Of 2023

Earlier this week, Google released some information about the most searched terms on their platform this year. That included a specific section for music and musicians. While the top searches of the year feature the artists you’d expect like Taylor Swift, Bad Bunny, and Drake, the top trending searches sport some major newcomers. The trending search list aims to track artists who may have not had sustained high search numbers all year, but hit major peaks. That explains the inclusion of people like country singer Jason Aldean and 1975 frontman Matty Healy who had controversial moments this year.

Also among the top trending searches are two of the biggest breakout rap stars of the year. Ice Spice and Sexyy Red are probably the two biggest breakout rap acts of the year and they both turn up in the top 10. Red herself comes in at number 10 likely drawing attention for some of her hilarious public statements and controversial moments. Ice Spice on the other hand is all the way at number two. That isn’t all that surprising in a year where she made waves for collaborations with Taylor Swift and Nicki Minaj and an appearance at the MET Gala. Elsewhere on the list are fellow newcomers from other genres like Oliver Anthony and Peso Pluma. Check out the full top 10 list below.

Ice Spice also has a song appear on the accompanying list of top trending song searches. Her collaboration with PinkPantheress “Boys a liar pt. 2” shows up at number 5. The song blew up on social media early this year which translated it into a breakthrough hit for both artists that reaches the top 10 of the Hot 100.

Someone who was listening to a lot of Ice Spice’s music this year was actually Spice herself. Last month, she shared her Spotify Wrapped with fans online so they could see what she’s been listening to. Hilariously, she was her own top artist and her top songs were made up entirely of her own tracks. What do you think of Ice Spice and Sexyy Red turning up among the top trending searches for musicians this year? Let us know in the comment section below.

DDG Asks Google If She Knows Who He Is, Her Response Leaves Him Uncomfortable

DDG is someone who has, unfortunately, caught a lot of flack from rap fans. Overall, much of this has to do with the fact that he comes from a YouTube background. He started off doing YouTube vlogs and eventually made his way into the music world. However, his music has gotten a plethora of mixed reviews. There are his die-hard fans who love every single thing he does. Although there are plenty of haters who think a YouTube star should probably stick to making vlogs and TikToks.

These days, there is now a meme in which people say “gun to the back of your head name five DDG songs.” Overall, it is a pretty disrespectful meme, but kids on the internet love to espouse it whenever they get the chance. Moreover, his relationship with Halle Bailey has a lot of people taking even more shots at him. Some believe she could do better, and he has responded to such slander. Now, according to DJ Akademiks, he out here asking Google questions about himself.

DDG x Google

In the clip above, DDG can be seen asking Google if she knows who is is. It is a weird question to ask about yourself, although it makes sense given the recent slander on his name. Subsequently, Google details his Wikipedia page and gives a very thorough answer on who he is. The rapper was pretty taken aback by all of this, and eventually made a crude comment to the AI program. In the replies to the post above, a lot of fans found this all to be corny, and a desperate ploy for attention.

“Bro types into the google translate and puts it on speaker,” someone wrote. “Bro u had 1 song with blue face,” wrote another. Essentially, very few were actually amused by this move. Let us know what you thought of his TikTok, in the comments section below. Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for more news and updates from around the music world.

Google Is Offering Employees $99 Rooms At Its On-Site Hotel

Google has announced a new policy to tempt workers back to the company’s Mountain View campus in California. Employees will be able to rent a hotel room for $99 a night at an on-site hotel. This comes as the company continues to push its return-to-work model. Last year, Google ended full-time remote working and mandate employees to work at least three days a week in-office. Since then, Google has been doubling down on the policy. Google is very eager to minimize the “hybrid” aspect of its hybrid work policy. In June, it was reported that Google was tracking employee badges and warned employees that their levels of in-person attendance would factor into their performance reviews.

Among materials distributed to employees about the hotel offer, the lack of a commute was listed as a benefit of the scheme. Google opened the 4,000-room hotel last year. However, the scheme does come with a few catches. Firstly, stays at the hotel will not qualify as business travel. This means that the $99 per night rate cannot be expensed. Additionally, the $99 price tag is noted as a temporary discount that will expire in September. At the time of writing, Google has not disclosed how much the room will cost from October onwards.

“We regularly run accommodation specials for local or traveling Googlers to take advantage of our spaces and amenities,” Google spokesperson Ryan Lamont told The Verge. “We advertise these in a regular Perks email which also contains discounts for employees on other services and entertainment options.” However, the option, which would cost a little under $3000 per month, has been met with mixed reactions from Google staff.

“Now I can give some of my pay back to Google,” one staffer told CNBC News. Meanwhile, another argued that Google had better amenities than their apartment. However, some employees are also worried that their jobs could be on the line if they don’t utilize the new policy. Earlier this year, Google cut 12,000 jobs and is reportedly looking at further cuts in the near future. Regardless, would you pay to live at your job? Let us know in the comments.

Lupe Fiasco And Google Encourage Rappers To Incorporate AI Into Their Music With TextFX, A New Tool

In addition to being a rapper and producer, Lupe Fiasco is also a teacher. Last year, he taught a rap course at MIT and broke down lyrics by iconic hip-hop artists. Now, he’s joined the discussion about how AI will play a role in the genre.

The “Superstar” performer has teamed up with Google for an AI tool called TextFX that aids “the writing process of creating raps.” In a Google Lab Sessions video, Fiasco explains, “Rap is born out of technology. Rap wouldn’t exist if it wasn’t for these technological advancements.” He lists examples, such as a DJ’s turntable, microphones, recording studios, Auto-Tune, and more. “What’s next?” he says. “Artificial Intelligence, large language models — rap’s optimal for it.”

A Creative Technologist at Google named Aaron Wade steps in and explains the tool, which actually is a large language model. “Initially, we thought that maybe Lupe would want an AI system to write lyrics for him, verses, and raps,” he said. “But it turns out that he didn’t want that at all. What he wanted was a tool that helped him explore the universe of possibilities that can arise from any given word, or phrase, or concept.”

Watch Fiasco’s full Google Lab Session above and check out TextFX here.

Lupe Fiasco Partners With Google To Create New A.I. Tool For Rappers

Lupe Fiasco recently announced his new venture with Google, an artificial intelligence tool designed to be used by rappers. The tool, dubbed TextFX, “specifically (focuses) on the writing process of creating raps.” It’s a large language model that allows users to explore different ways to flip words, something that Lupe Fiasco himself does when he writes his lyrics. TextFX is available for use now.

“Rap is born out of technology,” he explains in a video about the tool, “rap wouldn’t exist if it wasn’t for these technological advancements.” The artist continues, describing different ways that technology has impacted rap. “What’s next,” he says, “artificial intelligence, large language models. Rap’s optimal for it.” Aaron Wade, a Creative Technologist at Google, then describes working with Lupe Fiasco to come up with TextFX. “Initially, we thought that maybe Lupe would want an A.I. system to write lyrics for him, verses and raps. But it turns out that he didn’t want that at all. What he wanted was a tool that helped him explore the universe of possibilities that can arise from any given word, or phrase, or concept.”

Lupe Fiasco’s New Songwriting Tool

In another video, Lupe Fiasco is seen “co-writing” a song using TextFX. He walks viewers through the songwriting process, revealing how the technology works. At the end of the video, he performs the song, titled “Glass Of Water.” “Depending on what you want to get out of it, it is there for you to get it,” he explains. “It does require you to do the work, it’s not doing the work for you. It’s just providing you with different opportunities, and work flow, and being efficient, and you know, offloading certain things so your mind can focus on other things.”

The artist continues to praise the tool, explaining how it took “Glass Of Water” to places he didn’t expect. “I really never thought that it would go there,” he says, “just from a small, tiny little twist.”

Master P & Luther Vandross Have Google Tweaking In Hilarious Search Confusion

Google has its fair share of glitches, errors, mistakes, and a whole slew of other issues, but this one was at least quite amusing. Moreover, users realized that if you search Luther Vandross on Google, you end up getting a picture of No Limit Records mogul and rap icon Master P. Of course, it quickly went viral after it caught some steam, especially after none other than The RootsQuestlove posted about it on his Instagram page. Amid an age of artificial intelligence and automation, the acclaimed creative reminded users that humans aren’t that easy to replace after all. “This is why humans aren’t replaceable,” Quest wrote under a screenshot of the boss of one of the most iconic labels in hip-hop history being confused for Luther Vandross by the tech giant.

In addition, his comments section flooded with jokes tying Master P and Luther Vandross together. “Here and now, I promise to Make em say ugh,” one user wrote in reference to their respective tracks, “Make Em Say Uhh!” and “Here and Now.” Another wrote, “He has No Limit to his Love Songs, with hits like ‘Make ‘Em Say Never Too Much.” Perhaps the funniest reference, though, brought Kanye West into the fray. “She said she want some Marvin Gaye, some No Limit Soldiers, a little Anita…will definitely set this party off right,” referencing “Slow Jamz.”

Questlove Blasts Google For Mixing Up Master P & Luther Vandross

However, others expressed less amusement and more indignation online, blasting Google for mistaking Master P for Luther Vandross. While the general public doesn’t know how the search engine came to this conclusion (curation, an algorithmic mistake, etc.), many thought it to be racist given that they mixed up two Black men. “@Google who is responsible for this ?” one Twitter user demanded. “This is a picture of percy miller sr. aka master p, not luther vandross. I know yall think we all look alike but i can assure you we dont.”

Meanwhile, Master P revealed that he’s working on a No Limit TV series. “No Limit TV series coming soon,” he wrote on IG in March. “We’re still looking for people to play the Ice Cream man and other characters. The real Master P story from New Orleans to the Bay Area. @deontaylor We’re about to make history. #GODisgood.” “Power was a hit, BMF was a hit, salute to @50cent,” he stated in August upon its announcement. “Now the Master P No limit Tv series coming soon. Who y’all think should play the young Ice Cream Man? It can be an actor now or someone new. From New Orleans to the Bay Area the Real Story. Drama, romance, comedy, action and the American dream. When you put God first nothing is impossible.” For more on Master P and Luther Vandross (and hopefully less on Google’s antics), log back into HNHH.

Lil Wayne Claims His Google Net Worth Is Incorrect, But Not In The Way You’d Think

When you’re as talented, successful, and beloved as Tunechi, it’s hard to put a price on you. Lil Wayne recently refuted his Google net worth, listed at $160 million, during an interview with Culture Millennials. Moreover, he spoke on how claims of how much he’s worth are nowhere near what he actually has. However, before you think he’s boasting, he actually downplayed the amount and said that he doesn’t have that kind of cash. Sure, he acknowledged that it’s nice to have people think he’s worth that much, but still refused to really bank on it.

“Honestly, I’m gonna let everybody know now,” Weezy remarked. “When you go check a motherf***er’s net worth and that s**t be saying some crazy numbers, I don’t have a cent close to that s**t. Yeah, I don’t have that, but I guess they be meaning that’s what I’m worth. So I be always calling my agent and being like, ‘I’m telling you, bro, I’m gonna fire the s**t out of you ’cause I don’t need you.’ I Googled that, you know what I mean? I’m like I’m a zillion dollar n***a on Google bro … It’s motivation, that’s all. It’s just motivation.”

Lil Wayne Dismisses His Net Worth

Furthermore, this discussion probably relates back to a recent story on how Jay-Z’s net worth reached $2.5 billion, according to Forbes. In fact, this is a massive step-up for Hov, considering Forbes valued his worth at $1.4 billion just a year ago. While it’s nearly double the original amount, the publication didn’t detail how it got to such an estimate. As such, a lot of people responded with both high praise and raised eyebrows, along with the typical discussion of what all that money is really worth.

Regardless, much of the Carter series icon’s worth sparked debate in another, and for a lot of people, much more serious way. Moreover, the culture traded takes on who would win in a Verzuz battle: him or 50 Cent. Decisions seemed almost split even wherever you looked, with even strong advocates for either acknowledging that it’s not an easy call to make. Regardless, it’s the kind of debate that’s much more fun that the numbers, because we’ll never really know the answer. Check out the New Orleans legend’s interview take on net worth about and return to HNHH for the latest on Lil Wayne.
