Deion Sanders Takes Colorado To 2-0 With Massive Win Over Nebraska

Deion Sanders watched as his Colorado Buffaloes dispatched Matt Rhule’s Nebraska to take the Boulder PrimeTime show to 2-0 on the season. While the Huskers were able to keep the Buffs off the board in the first quarter, the Colorado offense put up 13 points in the second as they quickly began to run away with the game. With the 36-14 win, Colorado is now 2-0 to start a season for the first time since 2020.

Shedeur Sanders had another great game, throwing for 393 yards and two touchdowns, while adding a third touchdown on the ground. However, that was the only good news on the ground, as Sanders also recorded -16 yards on 11 rushing attempts. It’s quickly becoming apparent that dual-threat QBs are just something Coach Prime doesn’t have at his disposal. Elsewhere, two-way star Travis Hunter had 73 receiving yards as well as four tackles. Colorado takes on in-state rival Colorado State in their final non-conference game next week. Sanders and the Buffs open their last season of Pac-12 play at #13 Oregon on September 23.

Colorado Home Opener Highlights Sanders Culture

The game against Nebraska, which served as Colorado’s 2023 home opener, served as the perfect example of “PrimeTime Culture” at Colorado. The players arrived in CU Gold suits commissioned by Deion from NFL legend Michael Strahan. “We’ve got a lot of eyes on us, so you know I had to make sure the team was looking right, down to all the details from the color of the stitches to the ‘I BELIEVE’ on the inside,” Sanders told GQ.

Elsewhere, Coach Prime welcomed members of the Wu-Tang Clan to Folsom Field. Raekwon, Inspectah Deck, and several others were in the stands for Sanders’ debut at Folsom Field. All of this simply goes to show the level of hype that Sanders has built around his team. For the moment, everything is coming up Deion. However, the real tests are yet to come. As mentioned, Colorado opens Pac-12 play against ranked Oregon. A week later, they have to face USC. Later in the season, they have games against ranked Oregon State and Utah. It will truly be a test of whether what Deion has built can withstand the rigors of college football.

Antonio Brown Gives Pants And Phone To Random Florida State Student

Earlier this week, Antonio Brown was at Florida State. He was seen partying with members of the Theta Chi fraternity, including performing some of his music with them. The video of that link-up, posted by Brown himself, included the cryptic phrase “Catch the Energy”, which Brown has been utilizing for the past few days. However, new footage from that party shows Brown engaging in some more typical Antonio Brown behavior.

In one video uploaded by a party attendee, a mostly naked Brown is seen throwing his pants to a student. The student then reveals that because of this, he is now in possession of not only Brown’s pants but also his phone. The short video shows the student scrolling through Brown’s notifications and trying a few passcodes on his lock screen. It’s unclear if Brown later retook possession of his phone. Brown himself later tweeted “Where my 📱 @.”

Brown Clarifies “CTE” Comments

All of this comes during the same week that Brown made some bizarre claims. Earlier this week, Brown appeared to claim that he had CTE (Chronic traumatic encephalopathy). Commonly found in contact sports athletes, CTE is a degenerative neurological disease caused by repetitive head trauma. However, Brown has now clarified what he meant by CTE. In a tweet late on September 6, Brown said “C.atch T.he E.nergy CTE!!!!” No one is quite sure what the phrase means, but Brown is certainly using it.

Furthermore, Brown may also be eager to deflect from the stories coming out about his tenure as owner of the Arena Football team, the Albany Empire. According to wide receiver Darius Prince, the players confronted Brown after he ordered a tribute to a former player be deleted from social media. After things got heated, Brown reportedly asked his assistant to go get a firearm from Brown’s car. “After he said that, things did calm down, and we had a conversation. But the fact is that he threatened us by telling his assistant to grab his AR.”

Cincinnati Bengals Make Joe Burrow The Highest-Paid Player In NFL History

The Bengals have finally locked quarterback Joe Burrow into a long-term deal. After months of negotiations, it was revealed that Burrow would become the highest-paid player in NFL history. His new deal with the Bengals is a five-year, $275 million extension with $219.01 million guaranteed. The deal surpasses those of Justin Herbert, Jalen Hurts, and Lamar Jackson, all signed this summer and all briefly the biggest in NFL history.

“This is where I want to be. This is where I want to be my whole career. We’re working toward making that happen. You’ve seen what the front office has done and what Zac [Taylor] has done in their time here. I’m a small part of that [and] I’m excited to be a part of that. I’m going to keep playing well. I feel great about the organization and everybody in the locker room and in the coaching staff. [The contract] is the icing on the cake to me. I’m just excited to be out here,” Burrow told reporters.

Burrow Ready To Ride 2022 Momentum

Burrow has just 42 career games to his name. However, he is already a Super Bowl participant and a Pro Bowler at one of the league’s most hotly-contested positions. Despite suffering a calf injury during training camp, Burrow is expected to be under center for the Bengals when they open their season against the Browns on Sunday. While their secondary was gutted in the offseason, the team is expected to win their third consecutive AFC North title this season. However, a lot of that will hinge on whether Burrow can maintain his hot start as the team’s starter.

“He’s a motivated player, he’s a motivated teammate, he’s a motivated leader,” Bengals director of player personnel Duke Tobin. “He puts the time in to make sure that he is ready to go and then he drives others to be ready to go. So all the things we liked about him from the very start have been true and he’s kept that up.” Burrow also enters the season with the second-best odds to win MVP. That journey got off a perfect start when award favorite Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs lost their season opener to the Lions.

Tez Walker Ruled Ineligible For 2023 NCAA Season

North Carolina wide receiver Tez Walker will not see the field in the 2023 season. It was reported earlier today that the NCAA denied his appeal for a transfer waiver. Walker, who played for Kent State in 2021 and 2022, sought a transfer waiver as the move to North Carolina was technically his second transfer. Walker began his career at NC Central but transferred to Kent State after NC Central canceled their 2020 season.

Walker’s request was rejected earlier this year as part of a crackdown on two-time transfers. However, the decision was appealed by North Carolina. The school cited Walker’s mental health challenges and the fact he never played a snap at NC Central. However, the NCAA stood firm and rejected the waiver request at an appeal hearing on September 7. Both NC Central and Kent State filed documents supporting Walker’s case.

UNC Coach Blasts NCAA Over Tez Walker Ruling

North Carolina coach Mark Brown posted a lengthy statement through UNC in response. His statement expressed his dismay at the decision to bar Walker from playing in 2023. “We’re absolutely crushed to learn that Tez Walker’s eligibility has been denied for this season and he won’t be able to play. I don’t know that I’ve ever been more disappointed in a person, a group of people, or an institution than I am with the NCAA right now. It’s clear that the NCAA is about process and it couldn’t care less about the young people it’s supposed to be supporting. Plain and simple, the NCAA has failed Tez and his family. I’ve lost all faith in its ability to lead and govern our sport.”

“As has been clearly documented, Tez should be eligible for a number of reasons, not the least of which is the mental health issues he’s faced during his time in college. And with this decision, the NCAA has placed an unnecessary burden on him. He’s had a rough go of it and this will surely only make it worse. How dare they ever speak about mental health and student-athlete welfare again. We’ve got complete rosters overhauled through the transfer portal, players playing in their 8th year of college, players playing at their fourth school, and the list goes on. Yet, Tez Walker, who has only played football at one school, isn’t eligible. It makes no sense and it never will. Shame on you, NCAA. SHAME ON YOU!” Brown continued.

Chandler Jones Claims Raiders Sent A “Crisis Team” To His House

Chandler Jones’ beef with the Las Vegas Raiders appears to have significantly escalated. In since-deleted posts on his Instagram story, Jones claims that the team sent a “crisis team” to his house. Alongside an account of what happened, Jones posted a picture of what appeared to be the expired badge of a Las Vegas CRT officer.

“RAIDERS SENT HER TO MY PLACE SAID .. YOU NEED TO COME WITH US ‘YOU’RE IN DANGER’ 😂. THEY HAD ME OUTSIDE IN MY DRAWS LOL.. NAKED. THAT LADY WAS RUDE. THEN I GOT TO SHOWING HER SOME OF THEM TEXT. AND THEN SHE SWITCHED UP..BUDDY FROM THE RAIDERS TRIED TO GIVE ME THE LOOK..LIKE ‘DON’T SAY ANYTHING’ NOW I UNDERSTAND WHY PLAYERS TURN TO SOCIAL MEDIA. AT FIRST I FROWNED UPON IT. BUT IT’S OUR ONLY OUTLET. IF I DIDN’T DO THIS, IT WOULD’VE BEEN KEPT UNDER WRAPS.. ANYBODY INTERVIEW THEM AND ASK WHY I’M NOT ON WITH THE TEAM? BECAUSE I DON’T KNOW”

Chandler Jones’ Situation With The Raiders, Explained

Jones, who is entering the second year of a three-year, $51 million contract with the Raiders, was absent from a handful of practices late in training camp due to undisclosed reasons. Then, on August 18, Jones posted what appeared to be text messages between him and head coach Josh McDaniels. In one text, Jones appears to say that he “won’t say anything else” if McDaniels guarantees that he will play in the Raiders’ season opener against the Broncos. Jones later told media that he no longer wanted to play for the Raiders

McDaniels declined to answer any specific questions when asked about the situation on September 6. “Right now, we’re going day to day … so we’ll kind of take it one day at a time,” McDaniels said in his Wednesday media conference. “It’s a private matter and, you know, if there’s something to report on it, then we’ll do that. But as of right now, there’s nothing. I’m not going to get into this. It’s a personal situation. It’s a private matter. If you want to talk about the game on Sunday, I’ll be excited to talk about the game.” This is a developing story and we’ll have any updates as and when they emerge.

Matthew Stafford Brushes Off Wife’s Comments About Locker Room Atmosphere

Matthew Stafford has dismissed the notion that there has been negative fallout from comments his wife made on her podcast. Last month, Kelly Stafford claimed that her husband had been having trouble “gelling” with the younger members of the Rams roster. The 35-year-old quarterback joked that he had planned to attend the September 6 press conference with pince-nez and a newspaper but “it turns out you can’t even find a newspaper around here,” Stafford said, “so I couldn’t do that. I was going to try to have some fun with it.” However, he again stressed that there was no locker room problems.

“But no. It’s been great to … I love coming to work. I love working with these guys. And they all know that. I think those guys understand where I’m coming from,” Stafford said. “They see me come in this building every single day and know how I go to work, know how I interact with everybody and we didn’t really think too much about it to be honest with you,” Stafford said. Furthermore, he noted that he had not had to discuss his wife’s comments with any of the other players.

Stafford Confident Of Rams Bounce Back

Furthermore, Stafford argued that the Rams’ roster turnover isn’t all that different to that of other teams in the league. “Every team is different,” he said. “Every team is new. We happen to have a lot of young guys on our team, a lot of rookies that have come in and done a heck of a job and earned roles on our football team, are going to be big parts of our season. And that’s exciting. But every season, every team is different. And that’s the great part about this game is you get exposure to all different kinds of people from all different places and different places in their life. And I love being a part of that. … Probably my favorite thing is coming into the locker room and being a part of that.”

Stafford is entering his second full season as the Rams starter after being traded to LA partway through the 2021 season. Despite leading the 2021 Rams to a Lombardi Trophy, the team completely collapsed in 2022. What’s more, the trades the Rams made to achieve that 2021 Super Bowl meant that their 5-12 record netted great picks…for other teams. The Rams are once again expected to play poorly. However, as it stands, they do actually have their top-round picks for 2024.

Antonio Brown “Clarifies” What He Meant By Having “CTE”

Earlier this week, disgraced NFL wide receiver Antonio Brown appeared to claim that he had CTE (Chronic traumatic encephalopathy). Commonly found in contact sports athletes, CTE is a degenerative neurological disease caused by repetitive head trauma. However, Brown has now clarified what he meant by CTE. In a tweet late on September 6, Brown said “C.atch T.he E.nergy CTE!!!!” whatever that means. Brown followed up the post with a video in which he appeared to be partying with members of the Theta Chi chapter at Florida State. The group rapped along to one of Brown’s songs. “CTE 👈🏾👉🏾👈🏾👉🏾👈🏾👉🏾👈🏾👉🏾👈🏾👉🏾👈🏾 #CacththeEnergy #Tallahassee,” he captioned the video. Yes, he spelled “Catch” wrong.

A lot of people in the comments were indeed wondering what “Catch the energy” is, with many people concluding that Brown was likely about to start selling something. Meanwhile, others took this as evidence that Brown was suffering from the actual CTE. In short, this feels like typical AB antics, and something (or nothing) will come out of it. What do you think Catch the Energy is? Let us know your theories down in the comments.

Dark Stories About Brown’s Arena League Saga Emerge

However, not all of the recent AB headlines have been as innocuous as “catch the energy”. You may remember that earlier this year, Brown became involved with the defending champions of the Arena Football League, the Albany Empire. Within a few months, Brown had bankrupted the team and forced the league to dissolve the franchise. Well, recent reports have shed an even darker light on that already horrific story.

According to wide receiver Darius Prince, the players confronted Brown after he ordered a tribute to a former player be deleted from social media. After things got heated, Brown reportedly asked his assistant to go get a firearm from Brown’s car. “After he said that, things did calm down, and we had a conversation. Nick Bosa Becomes Highest-Paid Defensive Player In NFL History

Nick Bosa and the San Francisco 49ers have made history as a new extension for defensive end makes Bosa the highest-paid defensive player in league history. The Niners announced they had signed Bosa to a 5-year, $170 million extension, with $122.5 million guaranteed. That surpasesses Aaron Donald for highest per-year salary and Bosa’s brother Joey for total money guaranteed.

Furthermore, the deal comes as a major relief for Niners fans. The team typically signs its big-name extensions at the start of training camp. However, it took until less than a week before the Niners season-opener to sign Bosa. While neither side was worried that the deal wouldn’t go throw, it was something a tense time in Niner Nation. However, the new deal means that Bosa will absolutely be in the lineup for Sunday’s game against the Steelers.

Bosa Locked In With Niners

While uncertainty reigns at the quarterback position for the Niners, they can sleep a little more soundly knowing that they have locked up the defending Defensive Player of the Year for the next half-decade. 2022 was a career year for Bosa, who received his third consectutive Pro Bowl nomination as well as being named to his first All-Pro Team. Bosa racked up 51 tackles and 18.5 sacks during a dominant season for the 25-year-old. He also forced two fumbles. The Niners reached the AFC Championship Game but were blown out by the Eagles 31-7.

The Niners, who went 1-2 in the preseason, open the year against the Steelers on September 10. They will have to wait until Week 3 for their home opener, when they welcome the Giants to Levi Stadium. Brock Purdy, 2022’s Mr. Irrelevant and that season’s savior for the Niners, is once again slated to be QB1. The Niners acquired Sam Darnold to back him up while trading former first-round pick Trey Lance to the Cowboys. How do you think the Niners will do this season? Let us know in the comments. Pastor Troy Says Deion Sanders Inspired His Rap Career

Rapper Pastor Troy is the latest person to come forward with a glowing testimonial about Colorado head coach Deion Sanders. Speaking on September 4, Troy shared an image of a Colorado football helmet and a signed copy of Sanders’ The Encore Remix. As well as his dual NFL and MLB careers, Sanders dropped two albums. 1994’s Prime Time peaked at #70 on the US Hip Hop chart and at #14 on the US Heatseekers chart. The Encore Remix, released in 2005, did not chart.

“I Did My Friday Report in the 4th Grade on the #1 pick for the Atlanta Falcons in 1989,” Troy began. “He was walking through the airport with them ropes on. He looked like what I wanted to look like, A Rapper! Now, He’s the Head Coach of @cubuffsfootball and we family. We been down since before JSU, @nuface doesn’t have this autographed!” Troy wrote in his Instagram caption.

Deion Sanders Has Buffs Rolling

Colorado opened the 2023 season with a tough road game at last season’s National Championship runners-up, TCU. However, the Buffs were able to silence the crowd in Fort Worth with a 45-42 upset victory. It marked the program’s first road win since 2021 and showed the country what PrimeTime Colorado was all about. Sanders’ son Shedeur set a new single-game passing record for the school as he threw for 510 yards and 4 touchdowns. Meanwhile, two-way star Travis Hunter put up 119 receiving yards and an interception. Sanders kept his postgame remarks simple while discussing his team’s victory – “We comin’.” In the subsequent AP Poll, the Buffs, jumped to #22. It’s the first time they’ve been ranked since the Week 14 poll of the 2020 season.

Next up for Colorado is their home opener against long-time rivals Nebraska. “We don’t like Nebraska. Simple. But that’s not going to change the preparation or anything like that, because we prepare like nobody likes us, because we know we’re going to get everybody’s best game,” Shedeur Sanders told reporters. Nebraska, under new head coach Matt Rhule, fumbled the bag in their season opener, losing a late lead to Minnesota. Now they have to enter the buffalo’s den that is Folsom Field.

Carl Nassib, NFL’s First Openly Gay Active Player, Retires

Carl Nassib, who made history as the first openly gay active player in the NFL, has announced that he is retiring. “This is a bittersweet moment for me but after seven seasons and just over 100 NFL games, I am retiring to focus on my company Rayze,” Nassib wrote on Instagram. “It really feels like just yesterday starting out as a walk-on at Penn State. Football has given me more than I ever could have imagined. I can truly hang up my helmet for the last time knowing I gave it everything I had.”

Furthermore, Nassib spoke to People that he would like to remain connected to the NFL in some way. “Maintaining that relationship shows that the NFL is continuing to support me,” Nassib said. “They’ve supported me so much over the last two years, and I really couldn’t have done it without that support. I think that I can provide a very rare and specific view of how life is for an out gay player, and I think that there are some amazing opportunities that I can also learn.” Nassib’s company, Rayze, is an app that helps people find charities and non-profits that match their interests and passions.

Carl Nassib Retires

Drafted by the Browns in 2016, Nassib made history in 2021 when he came out as gay. While he was not the first gay NFL player, he was the first to come out while still an active player. The NFL very much embraced Nassib, matching his $100,000 donation to The Trevor Project after he came out. Playing with the Raiders at the time, Nassib spent the 2022 season with the Buccaneers. A free agent entering 2023, Nassib revealed to People that the thought of retirement actually came to him last season.

“This would have been my 23rd football season. I’ve been playing football since I was eight years old, and I’m really excited to move on to the next chapter of my life. [I found myself] staying at the Bucs facility until 9 p.m. every night working on Rayze. I feel like it’s my calling and it’s what I’m meant to do. I’m really excited to move on to the next chapter of my life and to give Rayze everything that I have.” Nassib appeared in 99 regular season games and two postseason games over his seven-year career.
