Travis Kelce has been in the news quite a bit and it is all thanks to the Taylor Swift effect. For those who may not know by now, the two are seemingly dating. Overall, Swift showed up to two games in as many weeks. This subsequently led to a whole lot of television coverage. Although some fans feel like it has been too much, the Swifties have been galvanized by all of this. In fact, Travis has gained a whole bunch of fans, which is probably very cool for him.

Many of those fans tuned in yesterday afternoon as the Kansas City Chiefs took on the Minnesota Vikings. The Chiefs won this game by a score of 27-20. Moreover, Kelce ended up scoring a touchdown in the game. Unfortunately, before that touchdown, he suffered a non-contact injury. Many were worried that this foot injury could have spelled the end of his day. Additionally, some were worried that it could have been much worse. After all, Kelce already missed the first game of the season due to an injury.

Travis Kelce Goes Down

As soon as Kelce went down with an injury, Swifties took to Twitter where they admonished the NFL for their use of turf fields. Overall, it was actually quite humorous to see people who otherwise don’t care about football, advocate for something that has been long overdue in the NFL. That said, there were others who simply chalked this up to the “Taylor Swift Curse.” In the tweets down below, you can see numerous people talking about how this is all part of the process when dating someone like T-Swift.

He stated that they never really hung out beyond the confines of the organization. Additionally, he revealed that when Wilson would call him it was through a blocked number and he was not polite during their chats. It has made its way around social media and one of the people to talk about it was rapper Cam’ron.

His sports talk show, It Is What It Is, is seeing some tremendous success after signing a huge contract. The Harlem icon discussed this topic about Russ and Marshawn, using a personal relationship to explain how messy the former teammates’ connection is. Cam’ron is acting as Lynch in this scenario and he using his former work partner Just Blaze as Russell. Let us just say he sends some strays towards the DJ.

Cam’ron’s story is a little all over the place in the clips above. However, the basic jist of it all, is that Blaze had a beat for Cam and it was not cleared. They could have made a lot more money if it was tidied up behind the scenes but, Cam did not really care about all of that. He just wanted to have a hit song and he did not appreciate how technical Blaze was at that time. He says all of this to say that it was more important to ditch the play call that cost the Seahawks a ring when Wilson threw the interception in the endzone. Instead, they could have done it the easier way by handing it off to Lynch at the 1-yard line. Essentially, sometimes it is more about working smarter not harder than it needs to be.

Stephen A. Smith is one of the most staunch haters in the world as it pertains to the Dallas Cowboys. Overall, he always makes sure to give them hell whenever they underperform. Although a lot of people hate Stephen A. for his Cowboys takes, there are many others who find them entertaining. After all, the Cowboys are both easy and fun to make jokes about. Jerry Jones is always caught doing too much, while others believe the team is hilarious because of their propensity to underperform.

On Sunday, they had their most difficult test of the season thus far. The team played against the almighty San Francisco 49ers. The Niners came into the game as an undefeated squad and they left the game as an undefeated squad. In fact, they beat down on the Cowboys in an unrelenting fashion. The final score was 42-10, and as you can imagine, Stephen A. was hyped. Firstly, he took to Twitter after the game where he posted his signature laugh that only get posted after a Cowboys loss. Subsequently, he went on First Take this morning and kept the jokes going.

As you can see in the video above, Stephen A. could be seen wearing a Michael Irvin jersey, all while continuously taunting Cowboys fans. It was all very amusing, and you could tell he was having a lot of fun doing this. However, the joke definitely was not funny to all of the Cowboys fans out there. Sure, Shannon Sharpe was laughing, but if you love Dallas, it must hurt to see such joy emanating from a 32-point destruction.

With the loss, the Cowboys are now 3-2 this season. They started off strong, but now, they don’t look so hot. Only time will tell whether or not this team can actually compete come playoff time. Jack Harlow And Donovan Mitchell Meet Up At Louisville Football Game

The Louisville Cardinals had a big-time showdown with the 10th-ranked Notre Dame Fighting Irish this past Saturday (October 7). Louisville’s program is having a bit of a resurgence as they were coming into that contest undefeated and ranked as the 25th-best team in the country. They wound up taking down the visitors, 33-20, staying unbeaten at 6-0. It is another monumental win for the school and two of the brightest talents from the state were in attendance. Louisville-born rapper Jack Harlow, and Cardinal alum, Donovan Mitchell, were repping their squad.

Harlow famously rapped about the Louisville Cardinals basketball team on his hit song “WHATS POPPIN.” For Donovan, he was a bit of an unheralded player coming out of college. However, he did help the program reach one NCAA Tournament. Now, he has turned himself into arguably the best shooting guard in the NBA. Also at the game was another Cardinal hooping legend Peyton Siva. He had a more successful tenure there. He made two Final Fours while capturing a title his senior year.

Deion Sanders Calls Colorado “Hot Garbage” After Tight Win Over Arizona State

Colorado might have gotten back in the win column this weekend, but coach Deion Sanders still wasn’t happy. “Wonderful win, but we played like hot garbage and I’m trying to figure it out. I’m sick of this. We’re better than this,” Sanders said following the 27-24 win. He also alluded to the team’s reliance on his son, starting quarterback Shedeur, bailing them out of bad performances. “It’s like we’re waiting on him to put on his cape and do what he does. That’s what he does every week.” Shedeur threw for 239 yards and a touchdown. However, he also took five sacks and added another -17 rushing yards to his season total. This week, an anonymous Pac-12 coach told The Athletic they believed Sanders was intentionally taking sacks to preserve his passing stats.

Performance aside, the win elevated Colorado to 4-2 on the season and snapped an eight-game losing streak in conference play. Arizona State, who played a good game until giving up a 43-yard pass that set up Colorado’s game-winning field goal, dropped to 1-5 on the season. “Winning teams make the plays when the game is on the line and right now we’re not getting that done,” first-year head coach Kenny Dillingham said after the game. Colorado are next in action against 1-4 Stanford on October 13.

Rumors Swirl About Sanders Contract, Peach Bowl Invite

It’s been a week full of rumors and accusations in Boulder. Internally, Sanders is being reportedly linked to a “lifetime” contract at Colorado. While very little is known about these potential talks, Skip Bayless called for Sanders to get a three-year, $100M contract extension from the school. Sanders currently makes $5.5M a year on a contract that runs through 2027.

Meanwhile, the Buffs are being linked to an unprecedented bowl season move. Also reported on Undisputed, the organizers of the Peach Bowl have reportedly met with Colorado officials about having the Buffs participate in the game this year. The Peach Bowl is one of the most prestigious bowl games during bowl season and forms part of the New Year’s Six. That typically means that it features teams that were in contention for the College Football Playoff. The game has not featured an unranked team since 2011 and, outside of years when it was a CFP semifinal, has typically featured teams ranked in the top 15 of the AP poll.

After she attended the Chiefs’ win over the Chicago Bears, Kelce spoke about it on his podcast, New Heights. “Shout out to Taylor for pullin’ up; that was pretty ballsy, that was pretty ballsy, yeah. I just thought it was awesome how everybody in the suite had nothing but great things to say about her, you know?” Kelce said. “The friends, the family. She looked amazing, everybody was talking about her in a great light, and on top of that, the day went perfect for Chiefs fans, of course. We script it all, ladies and gentlemen. It was just impressive. It was impressive. Shedeur Sanders Accused Of Intentionally Taking Sacks

Meanwhile, there was another piece of drama coming out of the program this week. An anonymous Pac-12 assistant has accused Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders of taking sacks intentionally to preserve his passing stats. “I think they want to rack up some stats for Shedeur. He really holds on to the ball a long time. I think he takes sacks because he doesn’t want to affect his completion percentage,” the coach told The Athletic this week. Through five games, Sanders has been sacked 25 times for 221 lost yards. Furthermore, Sanders has -43 rushing yards on the season. “He’s playing a little different than he did earlier in the season. Before he showed that, he was willing to step up and escape through the B-gaps. Now, he’s retreating more,” the coach continued.

Sanders has been one of the best passers in college football this season. He is currently second in total yards with 1781 yards and the second-best completion percentage of QBs with more than 200 passing attempts. Sanders has attempted at least 33 passes in all five of his starts at Colorado. Furthermore, he has attempted at least 40 in four of those five games. However, Sanders took 10 sacks in his first two Pac-12 games, including seven against Oregon. Colorado has not responded to the allegations at the time of writing.

Cooper Kupp Expected To Make Season Debut Against The Eagles

Rams wide receiver Cooper Kupp is expected to make his season debut this weekend as the Rams face the Eagles. Kupp has missed the Rams’ first four games through injury and has not played since Week 9 of last season. When Kupp went down in Week 9, he had 812 yards and was on pace for a record-breaking season. “WR Cooper Kupp is expected to play against the Eagles barring any setbacks, per sources. The Rams are being cautious, keeping him on a count at practice. I’m told he’s felt good enough to extend for the football, even making a one-handed grab,” The Athletic‘s Diana Rossini reported.

However, the Rams will not have to rush Kupp right back into a full workload. Rookie wideout Puka Nacua has shone in a starring role for the team, racking up 501 yards through his first four games in the league. He also set a record for single-game receptions by a rookie. The Rams are 2-2 and come off a win over the Colts last week. However, losses to the Niners and Bengals have the Rams slipping behind in the divisional race. They are currently third behind the Niners and Seahawks.

Elsewhere in the league, the Dolphins have traded for Chase Claypool. The Dolphins have traded a fifth-round pick for Bears wide receiver Chase Claypool and a seventh-round pick. The move ends the brief feud Claypool had with the team. After Claypool complained about his place in Chicago’s offense, he was benched for their game last weekend against the Broncos. In fact, Claypool claims that he was told by the team to stay home. He was once again absent from the Bears’ Thursday night game against the Commanders.

The Bears traded for Claypool last November in hopes of helping spark an offensive change for Justin Field. However, Claypool was largely disappointing, recording 191 yards on 18 receptions through 10 games in Chicago. This season, Claypool had 51 yards on four receptions.

Deion Sanders Misses Radio Show, Colorado Says He’s Good To Go For Saturday

Deion Sanders briefly sparked concern among Colorado fans after he missed his weekly radio show on Thursday. Assistant coach Mark Johnson, who also represented Colorado at the Pac-12 Media Day, filled in for Sanders. “We are going without Coach Prime here today. We received notification a little while ago that (he) was a little under the weather and had a bad reaction to his immune IVs, is what I was told.” A school spokesperson later today The Denver Post that Sanders was going to be fine. However, they declined to elaborate further on the incident.

It’s not the first time that Sanders has suffered from some medical issues. He underwent surgery to remove blood clots in his legs during the offseason. That forced him to miss the aforementioned Pac-12 Media Day. At this time, there is no indication that Sanders will miss Colorado’s trip to Arizona State this weekend. The Buffs are looking to bounce back from back-to-back losses with a win over the 1-4 Sun Devils.

Buffs & Sanders Eye “Gimme” Over Arizona State

After reality checks against Oregon and USC, Colorado has a much easier game this weekend. Arizona State are 1-4, having lost every game since their opening week win over Southern Utah. There were little expectations for the Sun Devils, who will join the Big 12 next season. The team was predicted to finish 10th in the league in the preseason media poll. The team is under the guidance of first-year head coach Kenny Dillingham. Dillingham spent last season as Oregon’s offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach.

However, the Buffs will be without Travis Hunter for the game, the two-way presence they have sorely missed the past two weeks, Hunter continues to recover from the lacerated liver he suffered against Colorado State. Furthermore, he is not expected to return until Colorado’s game against UCLA on October 28. Sanders’ status is a developing story and we’ll have any updates as and when they emerge.

Bears Win For First Time In 346 Days, Magic Johnson Rips Commanders

The Chicago Bears beat the Washington Commanders 40-20 on Thursday Night Football. While it only propelled the Bears to 1-4 on the season, it is a major milestone for the team. It ended a 14-game win streak and marked the Bears’ first victory since beating the Patriots in Week 7 of the 2022 season. Furthermore, it was the team’s first 40-point game since Week 16 of the 2020 season. “I think the emotion I felt literally until … the clock hit zero was relief. It’s been a long time coming to get this first win. We’ve got a lot of talent; we’ve just got to put it together. These types of performances can carry over, but we have to be able to execute and be in sync as a group,” tight end Cole Kmet said after the game.

Meanwhile, new Commanders co-owner Magic Johnson ripped into his team after the game. “Tonight the Commanders played with no intensity or fire. We didn’t compete in the first half and got down 27-3 heading into halftime. It was too big of a hole to climb out of and that is why we ended up losing 40-20,” the NBA legend tweeted after the game. The loss dropped Washington to 2-3 and marked their third consecutive loss.

Bears Legend Dick Butkus Dies

However, there was something else the Bears were fighting for other than their first win of the season. Hours before the game, it was announced that Bears legend and Hall of Famer Dick Butkus had died at the age of 80. Butkus was once called “The Most-Feared Man in the Game” and terroized offenses between 1965 and 1973. Despite being an eight-time Pro Bowler and five-time All-Pro player, the Bears never made the playoffs while Butkus was on the team. After playing his collegiate years at Illinois, Butkus was drafted by both the NFL and AFL. However, he opted to stay close to home and chose the Bears over the Broncos.

After retiring, Butkus pursued acting and sports broadcasting and was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1979. He also left a deep sporting legacy. His nephew Luke is a long-time NFL positional coach and currently works with the Green Bay Packers. Meanwhile, his grandson currently plays volleyball at UCLA. Furthermore, Butkus was heavily involved in philantophic work following his playing career. The Butkus award is given annually to the best linebacker at each of the high school, college, and pro levels. Furthermore, Butkus gave his name to a heart health foundation. His passing was marked by a moment’s silence before Thursday’s game.
