The 37-year-old recording artist, whose real name is Robert Rihmeek Williams, opened up about his personal beliefs and the societal issues he observes, sparking discussions among his followers.

In a tweet on Tuesday, May 21, Meek Mill delved into his views on religion, revealing his reasons for distancing himself from organized faith. “I don’t have a religion due to the simple facts of racism and [judgment] and now war,” he wrote. Reflecting on his formative years, he continued, “I made my mind up at the age of 15 living in treacherous conditions. I strongly believed in god. He answered every prayer… I don’t believe in hell and I don’t need [to] because my heart [is] gold.”

Meek’s comments highlight a journey of personal faith that rejects traditional religious structures, instead emphasizing a direct, personal connection with God. His mention of “treacherous conditions” alludes to his challenging upbringing in Philadelphia, where he faced numerous hardships that shaped his worldview.

Beyond his spiritual reflections, Meek Mill also addressed accusations of being a puppet for white billionaires, specifically Michael Rubin, a prominent entrepreneur and philanthropist. Dismissing the claims, Meek defended his independence and the genuine nature of his partnerships.

Additionally, the rapper voiced concerns about the impact of social media on mental health, particularly within the Black community. In a tweet from May 16, he stressed the importance of therapy over the constant chatter of social media. “The Black community needs therapy over social media point blank… The points we be trying to make don’t lead to anything,” he asserted. Highlighting the nature of online interactions, he added, “Just a bunch of people pointing fingers all day… I talk because I see a generation run by computers… Computers don’t suffer but people do!”

Meek Mill’s advocacy for mental health awareness is in line with his role as Co-Chair of the Reform Alliance, an organization dedicated to criminal justice reform. His call for therapy reflects a broader concern about the well-being of the community, urging individuals to seek meaningful support rather than superficial online engagement.

NYC City Council Says Mayor Adams Should ‘Snatch’ Diddy’s Key to the City Back

NYC Mayor Eric Adams Speaks on Revoking Diddy's Key to the City

After Mayor Eric Adams stated he would check into revoking Diddy’s key to New York City, the city council is urging him to do so.

In case you missed it, in 2023, Diddy received the key from Mayor Adams, who now states he was “deeply disturbed” by the video.

“The committee and team have never rescined a key before, but we are now sitting down to see what the next steps forward are going to be,” Adams said to Pix11. “We are taking everything under analysis and the team will come back to me with a final determination.”

Well, the committee has spoken. In a statement to TMZ, council member Sandy Nurse says, “Mayor Adams should immediately revoke Diddy’s key to the city. As an abuser, Diddy lost his right to have such an honor and should be held accountable for his actions. Mayor Adams should set the example and take it away.”

Council Member Shaun Abreu added, “Mayor Adams should snatch back Diddy’s key and slam the door behind him. We won’t be missing you.”

Diddy issued an apology on Instagram for his 2016 assault on Cassie, seen in hotel security camera footage. In response, Cassie’s lawyer released a statement.

“Combs’ most recent statement is more about himself than the many people he has hurt,” said attorney Meredith Firetog. “When Cassie and multiple other women came forward, he denied everything and suggested that his victims were looking for a payday. That he was only compelled to ‘apologize’ once his repeated denials were proven false shows his pathetic desperation, and no one will be swayed by his disingenuous words.”

2016 footage from the Intercontinental Hotel in Los Angeles shows Diddy beating Cassie in the hotel’s hallway.

In the video released by CNN, Diddy is seen running down the hotel hallway in a towel to catch Cassie as she attempts to leave in an elevator. Diddy throws Cassie to the floor by her neck, followed by kicks, stomps and an attempt to drag her down the hall by her hood.

Cassie attempted to use a hotel phone only to be pushed to the ground by Diddy again. Later in the video, he throws a vase at the singer.

Cassie’s attorney, Douglas H. Wigdor, released the following statement: “The gut-wrenching video has only further confirmed the disturbing and predatory behavior of Mr. Combs. Words cannot express the courage and fortitude that Ms. Ventura has shown in coming forward to bring this to light.”

Happy 57th Birthday To Compton Legend MC Eiht!

Today (May 22) marks the 57th birthday of Compton-born gangster rapper MC Eiht. Known for his role in the 1993 cult classic film, Menace II Society, MC Eiht created an entire body of work out of his experiences growing up in Compton.

His name was inspired by the numeral element in KRS-One’s moniker, but he chose the number “8” because of its significance in “hood culture,” including 8-balls, Olde English 800, and .38 caliber handguns.

As the de facto leader of West Coast Hip Hop group Compton’s Most Wanted(CMW), he helped introduce the world to fellow Compton-based rappers Boom Bam, Tha Chill, DJ Mike T, DJ Slip, and Ant Capone.

He’s released an astonishing 16 albums, culminating with the yet-to-be-released Which Way Iz West. Often mentioned in the same breath as DJ Quik, the two previously had problems, but have since worked them out.

The breakup of The Joe Budden Podcast crew will go down in Hip-Hop history as one of the biggest splits of all time.

While in a spaces discussing Drake’s “Family Matters,” Joe dug back in his rapping bag to playfully jab at Rory and Mal, also mentioned their podcast co-host Demaris, while referencing his mainstay Parks.

But don’t look for Joe to get back in the booth seriously. Joe Budden could have hit the Madison Square Garden stage and delivered a “Pump It Up” performance.

During a recent episode of The Joe Budden Podcast, Budden revealed Nicki Minaj reached out to him to perform his hit during her Pink Friday Tour stop in NYC. Budden denied it because he doesn’t know if he has the “hype” in him.

“Nicki hit me last night,” Budden said. “She hit me when she was about to go on in Jersey. I was home. She didn’t say, ‘Yo, come out to Jersey’ and do that. She was 30 minutes from going on stage, and she hit me. I said, ‘I want to go to the New York show.’ And she said, ‘Yeah, you’re gonna come out and do ‘Pump it Up.’”

Regarding rejecting the offer, Budden said, “I gotta go out there and act hype, and I don’t know, I ain’t hype no more.”

Speaking with his cohost Parks, Budden revealed his last stage performance was in 2016.

Venus Williams to be Honored with Her Own Barbie Doll

Venus Williams will get her own Barbie doll that celebrates her stories career. Williams is one of nine athletes announced by Mattel.

Additional dolls will be made for gymnasts Rebeca Andrade and Alexa Moreno, soccer players Mary Fowler and Christine Sinclair, boxer Estelle Mossely, swimmer Federica Pellegrini, paratriathlete Susana Rodriguez and track and field sprinter Ewa Swoboda.

“Throughout my career, I’ve always been driven by the idea of shattering glass ceilings and staying true to myself, and Barbie’s mission couldn’t resonate more deeply with that ethos,” said Williams to the AP.

Misa Hylton, the mother of Justin Combs, is speaking out against the video released by CNN showing Diddy assaulting Cassie.

On Instagram, Hylton wrote she is heartbroken, while also stating Diddy’s children are innocent of what is currently going on.

I am heartbroken that Cassie must relive the horror of her abuse, and my heart goes out to her. I know exactly how she feels, and through my empathy, it has triggered my own trauma.
These young people were raised by women that want the best for them – we put God and education first and have always been united in our mutual effort to support their dreams. Two of the youngest do not have their mother here and it has been our duty to support them.
Their father needs help and I am praying that he truly does the personal work and receives it.

Sexxy Red is headed to the WWE. The St. Louis superstar will visit the NXT brand, which is led by wrestling legend Shawn Michaels.

According to Cage Side Seats, Red has her eyes set on Lash Legend, Noam Dar, and their group the Meta-Four. Legend is the real-life girlfriend of WWE NXT champion Trick Williams, but in wrestling has been used as a pawn to set up a championship match between Williams and Dar.
