Michael Rubin Issues Apology For Off Base Comments: “It’s Not My Place”

Michael Rubin has been under fire. The mogul who pals around with the culture’s elite recently

faced backlash after making off base remarks about “hate within the Black community” while defending Meek Mill during an interview with The Breakfast Club. 

Okay. Maybe he isn’t the best person to deliver that hot take. 

Rubin, 52, acknowledged his obvious mistake and issued an apology on X (formerly Twitter).

“I got a phone call from one of the people I have the most respect for in the world,” he wrote. “They told me while they appreciate my intention, it’s not my place to speak on Black culture. I get it and really appreciate the input!”

Get this, Rubin clarified that his intention was to promote unity and reduce negativity. “My bad, much love and appreciate the feedback,” he wrote, tagging Charlamagne Tha God, DJ Envy, Loren Lorosa, and The Breakfast Club’s official account.

The mea culpa followed Rubin’s odd defense of Meek Mill, where he criticized “Black hate on hate.” He stated, “When I see the narrative of, a really good friend of mine like Meek, and people are trying to… Again, if he was gay — which there’s not one gay bone in his body — who cares, number one. If people wanna be gay, it is 2024. Who the f**k cares? Number two, there’s not a gay bone in his body, so why do people wanna lie about that? Why do people want to change the narrative of a bet he made with me to hurt him?”

Here’s where things got sticky for Rubin. He expanded his criticism to the larger Black community, saying, “That is the one thing I’ve learned about, you know, look, I’m just being blunt because it’s me. It’s the one thing I’ve learned about Black culture that I don’t like is that Black hate on hate.” He criticized the judge involved in Meek Mill’s past legal issues and mentioned that even those outside the community recognize this internal conflict.

Rubin eventually admitted, “I’m probably going to get killed for saying this because I’m a white rich guy.” During the interview, Rubin also mentioned banning Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” at his annual July 4 All White party to avoid offending Drake, who attended.

Yes, we had to remind ya’ll once again about “Not Like Us.” Again.

Lil Yachty and Veeze have officially released their latest song “Sorry Not Sorry” along with an accompanying music video. The new track follows last month’s release of Yachty and Ian’s “Hate Me,”  adding to Yachty’s collaborative hot streak.

Directed by AMD and Little Miles,, the “Sorry Not Sorry” music video shows the two trendsetter emcees going bar for bar under the spotlight of a pitch-black stage in their signature nonchalant swagger. Earlier this summer, Lil Yachty teamed up with James Blake to deliver their genre-defying collab album, Bad Cameo, along with a set of visualizers for “Save The Savior,” “Run Away From The Rabbit,” “Red Carpet,” and “Transport Me.”

[WATCH] LL Cool J Talks Hip Hop Culture And Breaking At The Paris Olympics

LL Cool J recently chatted with SiriusXM host D-Stroy on SiriusXM’s “CTRL, ALT, D-Stroy” on Shade 45.  During the interview, LL Cool J talks about hip hop culture at the Paris Olympics and hopes they bring back breaking for the 2028 games.

When asked about this year’s Olympics in Paris and its inclusion of breaking(breakdancing) as an Olympic sport, Ladies Love responded, “The boombox. I saw judges with Kangols which I felt, I did feel like I was part of it. Whenever I see the boombox radio obviously. Yeah that kind of and my first album radio right? Boombox. So it personifies that. So it’s like when I see that I always think about you know my music and my contribution to hip hop, so it was amazing man.“

He added,” Like look I’m so happy about hip hop culture. I hope that they reconsider bringing back breaking for the 2028 games. I do know that the breakers will be even better in the 2028 games. There were a lot of great ones out there, don’t get me wrong, but I think that it will only get better and stronger. You just have to give it some time and I feel good about it man. I love this culture. I love hip hop, man. I love it.”

Even though L was excited over the breaking/Hip Hop inclusion in this year’s Olympics, fans and critics alike were perplexed after the performance of a b-girl from Brazil named “Raygun”, whose “dance” moves were ridiculed and made into some of the funniest memes to date.

The Olympic Committee decided to eliminate breakdancing from the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.

SOURCE SPORTS: Yankees’ Aaron Judge Becomes Fastest To 300 Homers In MLB History

Yankees slugger Aaron Judge hit his 300th homer, reaching that milestone faster than any other player in the history of Major League Baseball when he connected against the White Sox during a 10-2 victory Wednesday night.

“It’s a great achievement,” he said. “Like I said a couple days ago, I was hoping it would come in a win. It came in a big win for us. We were down for a little bit, couldn’t get much going, so I was just excited it was there in a big moment.”

Judge hit the mark in his 955th game and 3,431st at-bat with a three-run drive in the eighth inning. The six-time All-Star and 2022 American League MVP drove a 3-0 up-and-in sinker from Chad Kuhl into the White Sox bullpen in left for his major league-leading 43rd homer.

The Yankees let loose as the ball cleared the wall, jumping up and raising their arms and banging the dugout railing. After the game, DJ LeMahieu and Austin Wells doused Judge with a tub of water.

“That means a lot,” Judge said. “These guys grind with me every single day. I know the hard work they put in. They see what I do. That was pretty special.”

North recently shared a candid snap of her mom’s bare face on TikTok, puzzling fans and sparking speculation about Kardashian’s possible cosmetic procedures. The video, originally posted on the mother-daughter duo’s account, was quickly deleted but not before stirring conversations among fans. North captioned the now-deleted series of pictures as “Photo Dump.” The images featured Kardashian with her iconic pout and a surprised North at the bottom right of the screen.

Rihanna Sets New Record for Most Diamond Singles by a Female Artist

The Rihanna music return rumors are back running rampant.

The latest comes from The Sun, which states that Rihanna is looking to release the album and embark on a world tour throughout 2025. Additionally, Rihanna is believed to headline next summer’s Glastonbury festival. She was originally scheduled to perform at the fest in 2023 before becoming pregnant with her second child.

An insider added:

“It’s been a running joke how long Rihanna’s ninth album has taken to be released, but finally the wait is almost over.

“Over the years so many songs have been recorded with loads of different people, including Alesso and Diplo.

“She has gone from pop to reggae to hip-hop and everything in between. But because she wants it to sound fresh, and because of where Rihanna is at in her life, practically everything was scrapped.

“Some have been reworked but the majority was canned completely when she went back to the drawing board earlier this year.

“Rihanna has been back in the studio for a while now and things are finally coming together.”

SOURCE SPORTS: Yankees Put Jazz Chisholm Jr. On IL With Left Elbow Sprain

New York Yankees placed third baseman Jazz Chisholm Jr. on the 10-day injured list Wednesday because of a sprained left elbow and were waiting for more doctors to weigh in to determine whether he needs surgery, manager Aaron Boone said.

The Yankees remained hopeful Chisholm’s stay on the IL will be short, though it’s not clear when he’ll resume swinging a bat. He hits left-handed and throws with his right.

“We’ll see what we have,” Boone said. “We’re obviously just a couple days into this. But we’re also somewhat optimistic.”

Chisholm, 26, was injured on Monday while sliding into home plate in the fifth inning but remained in the game. He was replaced by Ben Rice during his next plate appearance in the seventh inning.

Chisholm has given New York an immediate spark since he was acquired from the Miami Marlins for three prospects on July 27. He became the first player in franchise history to hit seven homers in his first 12 games with the club.

“He’s been a dynamic player for us,” Boone said. “He provides power, speed. He’s done a great job on defense. He’s been great in the room. But again, hopefully, it’s something that doesn’t turn out to be too long and we can get him back.”

Chisholm spent his first four-plus seasons in the major leagues with the Marlins, hitting .246 with 66 homers and 205 RBIs in 403 games. He is batting .316 with seven homers and 11 RBIs in 14 games with the Yankees.
