Issa Rae’s “Rap Sh!t” Season 2 Soundtrack Announced for Nov. 3 Release, First Single “No Panties” by Sexyy Red Now Avialable

The highly anticipated soundtrack for Season 2 of Rap Sh!t has been officially announced by Raedio. This soundtrack, set to release on Nov. 3, will precede the premiere of Season 2, created by Issa Rae, scheduled for Nov. 9.

The mixtape, curated by Raedio and released via Raedio/Def Jam, features original music from the series performed by lead characters Shawna & Mia (Aida Osman & KaMillion), as well as contributions from artists like Rico Nasty, Kaliii, Maiya The Don, and more. The project also boasts writing contributions from Guapdad 4000, NCognita, Suni MF, and production by renowned producers like Danja, Bankroll Got It, and HitKidd.

The mixtape celebrates the women in rap who are changing the music world through their authenticity and features cover artwork inspired by A Tribe Called Quest’s “Midnight Marauders” album, acknowledging the writers and producers who craft the music behind the scenes.

The first single, “No Panties,” is already available and showcases the talents of Sexyy Red in a bold and unapologetic southern rap anthem, produced by YA & Snacks of The Breed. It encourages listeners to hit the dancefloor and embrace their most unapologetic selves.

“I’m happy that I got to work on ‘No Panties’ for Rap Sh!t,” said Sexyy Red. “It’s just me having fun on the beat and talking my sh*t. It’s just like the show: the rap girls running this sh*t.”

SOURCE SPORTS: Damian Lillard Traded to Milwaukee Bucks in Three-Team Deal

The Damian Lillard era of the Portland Trailblazers has come to a close. Logo Lillard has been dealt to the Milwaukee Bucks in a three-team deal.

According to ESPN, the other teams in the deal are the Phoenix Suns and Milwaukee Bucks. The Blazers will receive Jrue Holiday, Deandre Ayton, Toumani Camara, Milwaukee’s 2029 unprotected 1st-round draft pick, and unprotected Milwaukee swap rights in 2028 and 2030.

The Suns will get Jusuf Nurkic, Grayson Allen, Nassir Little, and Keon Johnson.

Happy 41st Birthday To “Hot Boy” Number One Lil Wayne!

Today, we celebrate the 41st birthday of Dwayne Michael Carter Jr., also known as Lil Wayne. The premiere CMB artist has broken barriers as a rapper, songwriter, record executive, entrepreneur, and father.

His career began in 1995, at the age of 12, when he was discovered by Birdman and joined Cash Money Records as the youngest member of the label, and half of the duo The B.G.’z, alongside fellow New Orleans-based rapper B.G.

The duo then joined the southern hip hop group Hot Boys, with Cash Money label-mates Juvenile and Turk in 1997 and released their debut album Get It How U Live! that same year. The group blew up following the release of the platinum-selling album Guerrilla Warfare and the insanely popular single “Bling Bling”. Lil Wayne held it down for Cash Money Records before ending his long-tenured deal with the company in June 2018.  

With hit after hit after, Lil Wayne dominated the charts and remains one of the most undefeated rapper/CEO’s to date.

Lil Wayne is in album mode. With Lil Wayne currently prepping Tha Carter VI, he told fans about a project before the album, titled Tha Fix Before Tha VI. The project has a pre-save link but not a hard date for release, as the supporting website reads coming soon.

Last month, Lil Wayne opened the 2023 VMAs. With the show hitting the screen, Weezy stood as an instrumental of “Back That Azz Up” played before erupting into a performance of “Uproar.” The Best Rapper Alive would finish off his set with a performance of the new single, “Kat Food.”

[WATCH] Wayne Brady Explains Why He Identifies As Pansexual

Last month actor Wayne Brady revealed he was pansexual meaning that he is attracted to persons regardless of their sex or gender. Brady shared, “In doing my research, both with myself and just with the world, I couldn’t say if I was bisexual, because I had to really see what that was, especially because I really have not gotten a chance to act on anything. So, I came to pansexual because — and I know that I’m completely messing up the dictionary meaning — but to me, pan means being able to be attracted to anyone who identifies as gay, straight, bi, transsexual or non-binary. Being able to be attracted across the board. And, I think, at least for me for right now, that is the proper place. I took pan to mean that not only can I be attracted to any of these people or types physically, but I could be attracted to the person that is there.

Wayne sat down with Nischelle Turner from Entertainment Tonight for his first interview since the announcement. Now Wayne tells Nischelle that his admission simply means he is able to love any person regardless of their vessel.

Actor Omar Epps Adds Author To His Title With New Sci-Fi Book: ‘Nubia: The Reckoning’

Veteran actor Omar Epps just added another title to his repertoire. Epps, who is attached to so many of our childhood memories, recently added author to his resume. He was live on “Good Morning America” today as he spoke with co-anchor Michael Strahan about his new sci-fi book “Nubia: The Reckoning.”

Of the second installment in the “Nubia” series, Epps said, “It’s really about inclusion in an organic way. I try to have characters that represent the world in the way that it looks–and people that haven’t been seen and heard […] are [also] felt.”

Epps shared that he envisions the “Nubia” series as a trilogy, with ideas for also taking the series to the screen, including film, television, animation and beyond. He said, “In a sense, I’ve created a universe here, and I want to be able to tell as many stories as I can within it.”

Drake Bets A Free Feature On A Basketball Game

Drake is one of the most dominant commercial artists of all time and he recently proved he’s still at his peak. He just teamed up with SZA for the very first time and the pair’s song “Slime You Out” found immediate success. It became just the second rap for of the year to reach the top of the Hot 100 when it debuted at the very top spot on the chart. The song has also racked up nearly 40 million streams on Spotify in the weeks since it was released. The track helped Drake extend his career-long streak of number-one hits to 12, more than any other rapper.

All of that works as proof that a Drake feature could be a life-changing opportunity. The rapper likely earns quite a bit when he appears on a song as a result. But he recently used the stakes of a free feature in a bet. While competing with a fan in an arcade basketball game, he decides to bet big on his ability to score by offering a free feature if he loses. As you can see in the clip below, he backs up his words hitting nearly every single shot he attempts. It seems at this point like the feature he bet isn’t coming anytime soon. Drake Backs Up His Wager

Fans in the comments cracked plenty of jokes about the clip. “He ain’t miss once 🤣🤣🤣🤣 he defo didn’t vibe with bro” reads one of the top comments on the post. “he has a whole a*s basketball court in his crib bruh what u expect,” another agrees.

Drake’s “It’s All A Blur” tour recently made a memorable stop in Atlanta. He shouted out the city’s hip-hop legacy and paid specific tribute to Migos member Takeoff who was tragically murdered last year. Drake Becomes First Rapper to Earn $5 Million in a Single Arena Concert

Drake is continuing his run of IAAB tour shows in Atlanta. During his most recent show, Drake saluted the late Takeoff.

“The first time I came to Atlanta, was I hopped on the remix to the song called ‘Versace,’” Drake said. “And I just wanted to say while I’m in here, rest in peace to my brother Takeoff. One of my first brothers out here in Atlanta.”

Previously in Atlanta, Drake brought out some stars like Trae Young and Kai Cenat. But the headline-grabbing moment was something he said, dubbing The A the “most important place in rap music.”

“What would any of us be without Atlanta?” Drake said. “All the love that you’ve shown. All the musicians that you birthed. All the contributions that you give. This is hands-down the most important place in rap music and you should be very proud of yourselves.”

In other news, Drake‘s new single, “Slime You Out,” featuring SZA, has made a No. 1 debut on the Billboard Hot 100. Proving Charlamagne Tha God was wrong about his assessment of the song.

The song is the 12th No. 1 single for Drake, bringing him into a tie for fifth most all time. It is the second for SZA, who also is in the Top 3 with the acoustic version of her hit “Snooze” with Justin Bieber.

According to Luminate, “Slime You Out” tallied an impressive 32.6 million streams, garnered 5.2 million radio airplay audience impressions, and achieved 2,000 downloads in the week ending Sept. 21.

Usher Reportedly Planning Global Tour Following Super Bowl Performance

With a Super Bowl performance on the way and an album loaded, Usher‘s 2024 is about to get crazy. The next announcement is reportedly a world tour.

According to Billboard, Usher is scheming on a global tour, his first in a decade. Usher’s team is reportedly working to secure locations worldwide to bring his live show.

Usher recently enjoyed a playful moment with Dwyane Wade and Gabrielle Union as he took his residency globally for a stay in France. His current set of dates is as the La Seine Musicale in Boulogne-Billancourt, France, and the power couple was in attendance.

As Usher reaches the point of his set where he serenades a woman, he approaches Union to sing but then hits a pause. “This is Dwyane Wade, I ain’t crazy! That man will knock my whole head off and then dunk it.”

The two laugh it off before Usher says, “So happy to see you.”

Meanwhile, Usher is killing the Super Bowl promo.

Actor Nashawn Breedlove, Known for ‘8 Mile,’ Passes Away at Age 46

Nashawn Breedlove who acted as Lotto in 8 Mile has died at age 46. TMZ reports Breedlove died in his sleep at his New Jersey home. There is no cause of death reported.

Breedlove was also known by the rap name Ox and was featured on the soundtrack for the 2001 film The Wash.

Mickey Factz acknowledged the death, highlighting his “tenacity and aggressiveness.”

Rest in peace to Nashan Breedlove.

Kanye West Reportedly Working on His Next Album, Completing 10 Songs in a Week

Kanye West is reportedly hard at work on his next album. Reports state that the music icon is in “a truly great headspace” and ten new songs were finished in the past week.

According to TMZ, Ye’s new work will be reminiscent of “old Kanye,” and there have been collaborations with Ty Dolla $ign. Recently, Ye’s “Jesus Is King 2” leaked online with Dr. Dre.

In another possible sign of a full Ye comeback, he receives words of support from Adidas CEO Bjørn Gulden. In an interview, Gulden stated he doesn’t believe Kanye West is a bad person.

“And then as creative people he did some statements which wasn’t that good,” Gulden said. “And that caused Adi to break the contract and withdraw the product. Very unfortunate because I don’t think he meant what he said and I don’t think he’s a bad person it just came across that way.

“That meant we lost that business. One of the most successful collabs in history — very said. But again, when you work with third parties that can happen. It’s part of the game.”
