Victoria Monét joins Eddie Francis on Apple Music 1 to talk about her experience writing “SOS (Sex on Sight)” featuring Usher. They dive into the process of how this dream collaboration came to be and Victoria teases that more music from Usher is coming very soon.

The two also discuss Victoria’s very successful year, which included GRAMMYs, record-breaking success from her single “On My Mama,” and more. Victoria teases a deluxe version of JAGUAR II and a new era on the way.

When Francis asked Monet about the Usher collaboration, she mentioned another unreleased song that the two have together.

“It’s coming in the future. I don’t know when, but there’s another song,” Monet added. “So we were working together on that song. So he came by the studio to work more on that. And when he got there, I was working on SOS, but I just had the hook only. So he was like, “Let me hear what you’re working on.” I was like, “Okay.” Nervous. So I play it, and then after the hook goes off, he starts mumbling a melody. I was like, “Hmm.” And me and DJ Camper, the producer, looked at each other and we were like, “Do you want to just go in? Maybe just try some stuff?” So he goes in the booth and starts this rap part, and then he comes out and we write a few lyrics to that. And then he has to go, he’s like jet-setting somewhere else. And then he finishes his parts in Atlanta. We decide like… We were like, at one point, “Do we do both of these songs or do we have to choose one? What’s the protocol?” But it just felt so special and so organic so that we just were like, “Let’s rock with both.” Camper got his horn player on it. We just did final touches and everything, and here it is. So I’m excited.”

Phillip Leeds, a mainstay within the music and fashion industries compiles eights years of original photography in BIG SHOTS!! Volume 2. Over 500 color Polaroid pictures of household names are archived in this new edition, out today courtesy of Blurring Books, the Brooklyn-based publisher. 

Over the weekend, Phillip Leeds hosted the a BIG SHOTS!! launch party in Los Angeles in partnership with lifestyle brand Pleasures. The collaboration between Leeds & Pleasures was a continuation of events from earlier this year’s preview at Paris Fashion Week. The author brings BIG SHOTS!! to his hometown of New York City on September 11th with Awake NY. Other dates to be announced soon via @BigShotsBook. 

In 2017, Phillip Leeds released the critically-acclaimed & wildly popular book BIG SHOTS! (Rizzoli) Described at the time as capturing a generation of artists and celebrities just as Andy Warhol: Red Books defined a previous era. Shot by Phillip with a unique vintage Polaroid camera called The Big Shot, the book offered a visual who’s who from the worlds of art, music, fashion and popular culture from 2004 through 2016. Halle Berry Thinks Her Monthly $16K Child Support Payments is 'Extortion'

The ongoing custody battle between actress Halle Berry and her ex-husband, actor Olivier Martinez, has taken a heated turn as both parties exchange serious accusations. Earlier this month, Berry, 58, filed for sole custody of their 10-year-old son, Maceo, citing concerns over Martinez’s ability to address their son’s special needs. Now, Martinez, also 58, is firing back, accusing Berry of attempting to take unfair advantage of him during the legal proceedings.

According to court documents obtained by PEOPLE, Berry alleges that Martinez is causing “detrimental harm” to their son by requesting a delay in their upcoming custody hearing. She argues that Maceo, who has been diagnosed with ADHD, specific learning disorders, and mild dyslexia, is struggling academically and is “grade levels” behind in school. Berry claims that Martinez is either “oblivious” to their son’s challenges or is “carelessly disregarding them,” raising concerns about his fitness to make decisions for Maceo.

Berry further alleges that by delaying the custody hearing, Martinez is postponing a “ruling on interventions necessary for the parties’ struggling child” and is using the situation as leverage to “extract” more money from her. She also dismissed Martinez’s claim that he needs to hire an expert to testify on his behalf as “nonsensical,” noting that the third-party witnesses she has called are individuals who know Maceo intimately.

In response, Martinez filed his own documents, accusing Berry of trying to “bootstrap her way into an immediate hearing” and giving him the “absolute minimum” time to prepare. He claims that Berry is “refusing” to set a hearing date that accommodates his schedule and has denied his request for assistance in covering legal fees, despite her substantial earnings. Martinez asserts that he is being unfairly kept from properly defending himself in court and that Berry’s actions are an attempt to “railroad him into” a hasty decision.

Martinez argues that he “cannot be forced to give up his right to discovery or his right to have sufficient time to prepare his response” simply because Berry is pushing for an expedited hearing. His filings emphasize that he is entitled to a fair opportunity to present his case, especially given the serious nature of the custody dispute.

As the custody battle intensifies, the complexities and emotional toll of co-parenting a child with special needs. With accusations flying on both sides, the case underscores the challenges of navigating custody issues when both parents hold differing views on their child’s welfare. “Jody, Jody,” IYKYK from “Baby Boy” star Tyrese Gibson recently revealed the intense animosity he still harbors towards his co-star Ving Rhames. Wait, so they really had beef?

Get this, in an appearance on the “Million Dollaz Worth of Game” podcast, Gibson opened up about the lingering effects of their on-screen rivalry, admitting that his hatred for Rhames extends far beyond the movie set. They’re killing that podcast btw. Always great content.

Basically, Gibson explained that his portrayal of Jody was deeply personal, as it mirrored his own experiences growing up with a single mother. Rhames, who played Melvin, the tough ex-con boyfriend of Jody’s mother, brought a level of realism to the role that Gibson found triggering. “I was not acting in “Baby Boy”,” Gibson told podcast hosts Gillie Da Kid and Wallo. “That ni””a Ving Rhames definitely triggered the sh”t out of me. I don’t like the ni””a to this day.”

Look, ya’ll remember the infamous headlock scene, right? We do! It was CLASSIC. So if that triggers Gibson, we get it.

The “Fast and Furious” went on to describe how his resentment towards Rhames persists even in social settings, years after the film’s release.

“Baby Boy”, considered a cultural classic, was directed by the late John Singleton, was a commercial success, grossing nearly $30 million worldwide and becoming a cult classic. The film also starred Taraji P. Henson, Snoop Dogg, and Omar Gooding, among others.

Wendy Williams Makes Rare Public Appearance Appears ‘Sharp and Upbeat’

Talk show icon Wendy Williams was recently seen out and about in New Jersey. This marks a rare public appearance but thankfully has sparked positive reactions.

Obviously Williams is known for her long-running talk show, was spotted shopping at the Bolingo Balance shop, owned by Victor Bowman, the son of the late herbalist Dr. Sebi.

According to our friends at PageSix, Williams appeared “sharp, upbeat, and aware” during her visit, a significant update given her recent health struggles.

Williams’ son, Kevin Hunter Jr., accompanied her on the outing and assisted her throughout the visit. While Williams was reportedly “engaging,” it was noted that she was not entirely familiar with the products at the store, prompting her son to explain more about them. Items gifted to Williams included natural remedies like sarsaparilla, contribo, bottano oil, and capsules from Dr. Sebi’s collection.

This sighting comes amid ongoing concerns about Williams’ health.

ICYMI, in February 2022, she was placed under court-ordered guardianship after her bank, Wells Fargo, raised concerns about her well-being. The bank requested an inquiry, leading to a court decision to appoint a guardian to manage her finances, citing fears of “undue influence and financial exploitation.”

Get this, Williams publicly opposed the guardianship, asserting her independence in an interview. “They say that I need somebody to handle my account. And I don’t want that,” she stated. “I want all my money. I want to see all my money that I’ve worked hard for my entire life.”

But earlier this year, Williams revealed that she had been diagnosed with primary progressive aphasia and frontotemporal dementia.

That diagnosis is a big deal and almost identical to what famed actor Bruce Willis is suffering from.

Her diagnosis follows her previous battles with Graves’ Disease, Lymphedema, and other health issues. In response to her health challenges, her team released a statement, expressing that the decision to share her diagnosis was difficult but necessary to raise awareness.

Williams’ struggles have also been the subject of a recent Lifetime documentary, “Where Is Wendy Williams?” However, the film has been criticized as exploitative by her publicist, Shawn Zanotti, and her guardian, Sabrina Morrissey, who described the project as a “blatant exploitation of a vulnerable woman with a serious medical condition.”

DJ Vlad Issues Public Apology to Marlon Wayans After Spat Over Interview ‘Fee’

In a surprising turn of events, DJ Vlad, the host of the popular VladTV platform, has issued a public apology to actor and comedian Marlon Wayans after a heated exchange on X (formerly Twitter). The feud between the two erupted following a failed negotiation over an interview, with DJ Vlad initially expressing frustration and disrespect toward Wayans, particularly over financial terms.

Get this, the tension became evident when Vlad aired his grievances during an interview with DJ Akademiks, explaining that their dispute stemmed from a business disagreement.

“Honestly, at the end of the day, it was just a business negotiation,” Vlad admitted. “I could’ve kept it to myself. I overdid it.”

Why the change of heart? Well, one thing is for sure, it appeared genuine as he extended an olive branch, expressing his respect for Wayans despite their differences. “I do actually respect [him],” Vlad added, explaining that his initial approach to Wayans was out of admiration. He acknowledged feeling slighted that Wayans seemed to favor other media personalities like Charlamagne Tha God and Big Boy but admitted his own fault in the matter.

“My bad Marlon, I apologize […] It’s all good. I think most people just want to respect each other, and I think it could have been handled a little differently.”

The bad blood first became public knowledge during a conversation between Vlad and comedian Aries Spears. Vlad disclosed that Wayans had demanded $40,000 for an interview and 30% of future earnings from the episode—terms Vlad deemed unreasonable. The situation escalated online when a fan jokingly suggested Wayans should have asked for even more money. Wayans responded humorously, while Vlad fired back, calling Wayans “delusional” and ridiculing his demands.

ICYMI, in response, Wayans took to X, calling out Vlad’s unprofessionalism. “You mad? You unprofessional my guy,” Wayans wrote. “If you don’t like the number, keep it moving. You look BAD. You should fall back. Mad at a black man stating his number? And now you go public and use your platform to try to drag me.”

Despite the heated exchange, Vlad’s recent apology suggests he’s willing to put the incident behind him and potentially work with Wayans in the future.

Whelp, now that’s over guess it’s back to business for both of them.

Following President Joe Biden’s dropping out of the 2024 race and throwing his support behind Vice President Kamala Harris to be the nation’s next leader, Plies analyzed the situation and former President Donald Trump.

Fans have shown concern for ATL rapper/actor Ludacris after he posted a video of him drinking water from a glacier of ice in Alaska.

Luda posted the video yesterday(August 26), showing himself on the edge of an ice cap and filling up his container with the natural ice-cold water.

“I couldn’t come here and just have a show,” Luda said. “You know I got a bucket list — or as I like to call it the fuck it list. I’ve never tasted fresh glacial water ever in my life, and this is a first. Here we go!”

Luda added in his IG caption, “Water So Good It Tastes Like GOD Made It. Well, Because He Did.”

Ice Cube’s son O’Shea Jackson Jr. commented on X (formerly Twitter), said, “……how long ago did he shoot this and have we been monitoring him?”

The “Move” rapper also wrote, “I see a lot of people name calling but still water is still water. Boil that shit and make it cold again” while sharing a video warning people about the danger of drinking natural glacial water.

In the clip, a man claims he was “literally sick for two weeks” after drinking water from a 600,000-year-old glacier, despite it being “the best water I think I’ve ever had.”

Ludacris later replied in a video posted on X and didn’t show any signs of bad health.

“Yo, for everybody asking me how that glacial water really tasted, and when I tell y’all I’m a water snob, it was the best tasting water I’ve ever had in my life,” he said.

Some diseases have been frozen in glaciers for hundreds of years and still exist in the water after it has melted. Animals called Tardigrades, which are less than a millimeter in size, can also be found in the water.

Dangerous metals such as mercury, zinc and cadmium have also been detected in glacial water.

Troy Ave Released From Prison For 2016 Shooting, Gifted New Lamborghini

Troy Ave Opens About Testifying Against Tax Stone in Upcoming Trial

Brooklyn rapper Troy Ave has been released from prison after serving a little under a year for his role in the 2016 Irving Plaza shooting in which the rapper’s friend and bodyguard, Ronald “Banga” McPhatter, ended up dead.

Troy Ave, whose real name is Roland Collins, posted a picture of himself walking out of Riker’s Island yesterday(August 26) gripping a bag of money in front of a red Lambo with the caption, “Ya boi home!”

Another clip showed Troy being give the Lamborghini and cash when he hit the bricks, with Ave saying the first place he wanted to head to was the airport.

Collins was sent behind bars after he and podcaster Daryl “Taxstone” Campbell got into a scuffle backstage at Irving Plaza during a T.I. concert, resulting in Ave’s friend and bodyguard getting shot and killed.

“When the shot goes off I see the light from the spark and I hear the shot,” Troy testified in court last March. “This is all happening fast. I get up and start fighting Taxstone, trying to take him, grab the gun, and another shot goes off. I put my leg up to kind of block the shot from hitting me in the face or chest.”

Taxstone, who is alleged to have been the gunman, was sentenced to 35 years in prison while Troy Ave was handed a reduced one-year stint in prison.
