Marilyn Manson Defamation Case Dismissed

It seems that Marilyn Manson has hit another roadblock in his fight against ex-girlfriend Evan Rachel Wood. The shock-rocker has just had his defamation case against her dismissed. The defamation case has been ongoing since the premiere of Wood’s two-part HBO documentary, Phoenix Rising. The film contained graphic descriptions of abuse by Manson. As of today, it appears that Wood will not have to face the court for defamation.

Manson filed the defamation lawsuit against Wood and her friend Illma Gore, accusing them of spreading false information. This included claims that Manson had abused an underage girl in his unreleased short film Groupie. Gore had also claimed that the underaged girl in question had committed suicide after the experience. Both of these claims turned out to be patently false. In addition, Wood and Gore had allegedly forged an FBI letter on which they impersonated an actual FBI agent. The letter falsely claimed that Marilyn Manson was under federal investigation. It also said that Wood was a high-profile witness in the case. The letter was then allegedly delivered to the father of her child to justify her relocation of their son.

In 2021, Evan Rachel Wood publicly accused Marilyn Manson of horrific psychological, physical, and sexual abuse via Instagram. Several other individuals also came forward as accusers, including Game of Thrones actress Esme Bianco. Since then, courts have either dismissed or settled many of the cases against the shock-rocker. An undisclosed sum was paid to settle Bianco’s case. Additionally, another major accuser recanted her claims against the singer and alleged that Evan Rachel Wood and Ilma Gore had pressured her into making the accusations.

While the court has dismissed Manson’s defamation case against Evan Rachel Wood, authorities are still investigating the abuse allegations that she brought up. The investigation reportedly concluded and the Los Angeles DA has received the findings, but they have not made a statement yet and have not made any arrests. The dismissal of Manson’s case against Wood is yet another entry in a long list of confusing claims and counter-claims. What do you think of the accusations against Manson? Evan Rachel Wood Denies Manipulating Marilyn Manson’s Former Accuser

Marilyn Manson’s faced a number of accusations from former flings who accused him of heinous acts. However, one of his accusers, Ashley Morgan Smithline, recanted her statements in a recent court filing. Smithline accused Manson of rape and abuse during their relationship in the early 2000s shortly after others emerged with similar accusations. Earlier this month, she filed documents to court rescinding her claims, alleging that she faced pressure to publicly call out Manson from other accusers, such as Evan Rachel Wood and her girlfriend, Ilma Gore.

Smithline alleged Evan Rachel Wood and others manipulated her into making these claims against the rockstar. “I succumbed to pressure from Evan Rachel Wood and her associates to make accusations of rape and assault against [Manson] that were not true,” she said in a court filing. She also explicitly stated that she and Manson had a “brief, consensual sexual relationship.” While her claims have been previously corroborated by others, she claimed she was “repeatedly gaslit” into believing that she was abused.

In a recent court filing, Evan Rachel Wood slammed Smithline’s claims, denying that she manipulated anyone into making statements. Wood provided screenshots of text messages, DMs, and even an alleged voicemail of Manson’s lawyer contacting Smithline. “I never pressured or manipulated Ashley Morgan Smithline to make any accusations against [Manson], and I certainly never pressured or manipulated her to make accusations that were not true,” wrote Wood. Among the screenshots she included is one text where Smithline allegedly wrote, “I can’t breathe. I have no reason to make this up!” in response to her story getting published.

Wood said that they only came in contact in 2019 after Smithline’s allegations against Manson. She said they met in person in October 2020 during a meeting with other alleged victims of Manson, where Smithline shared details of the abuse she endured. However, Smithline has since shut down Wood’s recent declaration in a statement to Rolling Stone. “Evan’s full of s—. That’s my comment. She’s saying anything she can to discredit me,” Smithline said. We’ll keep you posted on any further updates.

Evan Rachel Wood Is Crossing Her Fingers That Madonna Is Still ‘Cool’ With Her After Her ‘Weird: The Al Yankovic Story’ Performance

As the Weird Al Yankovic biopic makes it’s debut at the 2022 Toronto International Film Festival, Evan Rachel Wood is hoping that Madonna is “cool” with her performance as the legendary pop star. In a new interview for Weird‘s TIFF premiere, Wood revealed that she’s actually interacted with Madonna over the years, which helped prepare her for taking on the iconic role in the Daniel Radcliffe-fronted film.

“I love Madonna,” Wood told IndieWire. “I’ve met her before. We’ve been very friendly. So I think we’re cool. I’m hoping we’re cool.”

Working in Wood’s favor is the fact that the film is heavily fictionalized, and also, Madonna has a pretty busy schedule these days:

“The good news is nothing in this movie actually happened, so I’m a little safe there.”

Plus, Wood is doubtful that Madonna will address her portrayal of her short-lived romance with Weird Al, who co-wrote and produced the film. “I don’t think she’s going to respond at all,” Wood said. “She has other things on her mind and other things to do.”

On top of being one of the biggest pop sensations in the world, Madonna is currently working on a biopic of herself. The film, which Madonna will also direct, locked down Ozark‘s Julia Garner for the title role. However, it wasn’t an easy process. Garner faced tough competition (Florence Pugh and Odessa Young were among the top contenders.) and everyone who auditioned reportedly had to take part in a grueling “Madonna boot camp,” which Wood wisely dodged by going the comedy biopic route.

Weird: The Al Yankovic Story starts streaming November 4 on The Roku Channel.

Wow, Check Out The Pretty Good Madonna Voice Evan Rachel Wood Is Doing In The New Weird Al Movie

Evan Rachel Wood might be in the midst of promoting the new season of Westworld, but that doesn’t mean she can’t show off her pretty impressive vocal skills. While stopping by The Tonight Show on Thursday, Wood not only opened up about her upcoming role as Madonna in Roku’s Weird Al Yankovic biopic, but she gave the audience a taste of how well she can channel the iconic girl by belting out a performance of “Material Girl” at Fallon’s request.

According to Wood, she’s become prone to using her Madonna voice to “disarm” interviewers. As for taking on the iconic role, she felt much better playing the singer in the Weird Al movie than the full-fledged Madonna biopic that stars Julia Garner in the coveted role, which she deemed “too much pressure.” Regarding her casting, Wood added, “Honestly, like I thought I was gonna take a break the rest of the year, and then I got an email and the first thing I read is ‘You’ve been offered the role of Madonna,’ and I just burst out laughing like…. you just spit your drink out when you read that. Like, you’re not expecting that as a Tuesday.”

As for when you can see Wood play Madonna in Weird: The Al Yankovic Story, Roku has yet to provide a release date for the biopic that stars a surprisingly ripped Daniel Radcliffe in the title role. However, the film is scheduled to premiere some time this year, which is already halfway over, so the wait shouldn’t be too long.

Evan Rachel Wood Responded To Kanye Featuring Marilyn Manson On ‘Donda’ With A Cover Song

When the news of allegations about Marilyn Manson’s abusive behavior began to break, it was his longtime partner Evan Rachel Wood who accused the artist of “horrifically” abusing and grooming her, opening the floodgates for more horror stories from women who had been involved with him over the years. Despite the influx of testimonials from women about Manson’s abuse filtering in over the last few months, or who knows, maybe because of them, Kanye chose to feature Manson on the latest version of his ever-evolving Donda project.

Of course, this choice to include Manson despite what survivors of his abuse have come forward with is a slap in the face to those women, and Wood made her position on the matter pretty clear this weekend. Posting a clip of herself covering the New Radical’s still-classic “You Get What You Give,” today she included the following caption along with her cover: “”You get what you give.” For my fellow survivors who got slapped in the face this week. I love you. Don’t give up. @zanecarney @bourbonroomhollywood @ftrlive #newradicals”

Kudos to Wood for both her courage in coming forward, and keeping herself calm in in the face of a pretty blatant, disrespectful move. Further kudos to her for nailing a difficult cover, check that out above.
