“Saw X” Editor Confronted By Police Over Horrific Noises

Saw X hit theaters in the U.S. yesterday (September 29), and as expected, came through with just as much gore as one would expect. The movie centers around Jigsaw, who travels to Mexico seeking a risky medical procedure that he believes could cure his cancer. After he discovers the whole thing’s a scam, however, things turn ugly for the con artists behind the operation.

The Saw franchise is known for being pretty over-the-top and twisted, and this latest addition is no exception. Apparently, one of the scenes was so messed up that it even got police suspicious of a crew member. The film’s director Kevin Greutert recently spoke with NME, revealing that the main editor of the film was working on a scene when neighbors heard horrific noises coming from his direction.

Neighbors Called Police Over Editing Sounds

"Saw X" Editor Confronted By Police Over Horrific Noises

The editor, Steve Forn, was reportedly spending some time perfecting the sound design of a particularly brutal scene. The scene sees one character getting their eyeballs sucked out with an “eye vacuum.” Obviously, the sounds were probably pretty terrifying out of context. “There was a knock at the door,” Greutert began. “We have the doorbell [camera] video of the police walking up, [Forn answering the door] and the police saying, ‘The neighbours [have been] calling and saying someone’s being tortured to death in here.’”

According to the director, Forn told police “‘Actually, I’m just working on a movie… You can come in and see it if you want?’” Police reportedly turned down the opportunity to catch a glimpse of the eye vacuum. “It’s a pretty funny story,” Greutert also adds. “Plus Steve is such a mild mannered guy. I can only imagine the look on his face when he realized what was happening.” What do you think of the Saw X editor getting the police called on him? Do you have plans to check out the new movie? Ayesha Curry Reflects On 2019 “Red Table Talk” Interview, Says She Took Unflattering Editing “Personally”

Jada Pinkett Smith’s successful Facebook Watch series, Red Table Talk came to an unexpected end earlier this year after the social media platform cancelled all of its programming. Reactions to the news were mixed, with some expressing sadness over no more interviews from The Matrix actress and their favourite celebrities while others, such as Nick Cannon, suggested that the Will Smith and Chris Rock beef at the 2022 Oscars may have had something to do with it. Regardless, it certainly won’t be the last we’ll see of Jada on our screens, though some past guests aren’t hesitating to shade her years after their own sit-down on the show.

Ayesha Curry, for one, had plenty to say during her recent interview with Insider. The basketball wife is the cover star of the publication’s latest digital issue, and she made it clear that she’s not as insecure or “crazy” as editing on the internet show made her sound. “Stephen is very nice by nature and he’s very talkative,” the fashionista said of her NBA star husband at the time. “Everything is always very friendly and sometimes to the point where I’m like, I’m a grown woman so I’ll just insert myself. I’ll be like, ‘Hello. How are you doing?’”

“The ladies will always be lurking, hoping for their moment and waiting. But for me, I honestly hate it,” Curry further added. Looking back on the moment now, the 34-year-old asserted, “It’s not what I said, and the context was weird. Yeah. I took that one personally.”

Elsewhere in her conversation with Insider, Ayesha discusses her decision to begin therapy following the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as stepping away from the spotlight. Rather than acting and making public appearances, she’s now been pouring into charity work and entrepreneurship. Her lifestyle company, Sweet July, aims to uplift fellow Black and women-owned small businesses.
