Drake & Chubbs’ Posts About Team USA & Steph Curry Further Fuel LeBron James Beef Rumors

We don’t know how we got to caring about whether or not super famous men are salty with one another… But here we are after a rap beef that absolutely took over pop culture. Moreover, as a result of his Kendrick Lamar battle, you might have heard that Drake is allegedly beefing with LeBron James, or at least, that’s what a lot of social media-obsessed fans think even after LBJ himself seemed to dismiss these rumors. The reason? Well, those on the gossip train theorize that it’s because the basketball star attended K.Dot’s “The Pop Out” concert and basically supported his music but also had praise for Drizzy’s competitive efforts.

The latest piece of “evidence” concerning Drake and LeBron James’ alleged falling out comes after Team USA’s victory over France for the gold medal in men’s basketball for the 2024 Olympics, a game that went down on Saturday (August 10). The 6ix God took to his “plot twist” Finsta account, responsible for his 100 GIGS drop, to post a picture of longtime OVO fan Steph Curry hitting his signature “sleep” pose (sorry if there’s another name for it) during the game. Aubrey Graham’s bodyguard Chubbs, another player in the Kendrick Lamar battle, also omitted LeBron from his Instagram congratulations for the team, instead congratulating Steph, Kevin Durant, and Jayson Tatum.

Drake & Chubbs Have Fans Thinking They’re Shading LeBron James

While LeBron James’ own Instagram activity suggested that he has no issues with Drake, it’s still up in the air whether that’s a two-way street or not. Also, it’s curious because during a recent GQ Sports profile, Steph Curry made it clear that he’s still rocking with the MC who shouted him out on “0 To 100.” “I’m a big Drake guy,” he remarked. “I’ve been for a long time. I think obviously you know what it is for the rap industry to have that, but I still rock with Drake. Absolutely. Absolutely.”

Also, we know that Steph Curry and LeBron James feel very differently about Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” diss track against Drake. LeBron still loves it, and Steph is ready for the hype to end. Will this alleged beef ever clear up or will we never hear of it again? Time will tell…

Joe Budden Says He Makes A Million Dollars Every Time He Talks About Drake

Joe Budden and Drake have a very complicated relationship, one that the former is very happy to speak on and speak on and speak on… Moreover, during the most recent episode of the Slaughterhouse rapper’s self-titled podcast, he specifically ranted against artists that are bringing up his own pivot from his rap career into podcasting against him. But Budden made it clear that there’s only one person who can ever really criticize him in this regard, and that’s the 6ix God. Why does he have that special privilege? Well, Joe suggests that, since talking about Drizzy makes him a lot of money, he’s one of the only ones who have actually been able to be as successful as Joe wanted to be with his original plan to be a hip-hop artist.

“I move the way I move,” Joe Budden remarked on his podcast. “If n***as got a problem with it, in the great words of -– no pun -– Cardi, ‘If it’s up, then it stuck!‘ When Drake drops a diss, I make a million dollars. None of y’all have that equity! No, it’s too many people out there that think that I have something to gain from speaking highly or lowly about you n***as. That little box is reserved for him! I’ma come in here and talk about that n***a’s diss tracks whether I like it or not! It’s happened too many times. That’s gonna be a good month.”

Joe Budden Speaks On Drake’s Profitability

Speaking of that Cardi B beef, one of the things that she brought up against Joe Budden is how he’s a clown in her eyes for speculating on Drake’s alleged $400 million deal with UMG. “Stop being a f***ing hater,” she remarked. “I’ll f***ing tour till I’m 65 if somebody gives me $400M. $400M that you don’t have… Everything that somebody do good, you always hate on it. That’s bad, that’s terrible. You always hating on something.”

Also, Joe Budden’s hot takes on Drake usually extend to his fanbase, too. “If you’re talking to a Drake fan, that don’t mean you’re talking to a hip-hop fan,” he recently posited. Of course, many wildly misinterpreted this statement online as a claim that Drake fans are not hip-hop fans. As Budden and Aubrey prove time and time again, the line between critique and cruel hating is a very thin one on either side.

Drake Fans Are Convinced That Childish Gambino Named His Son After Him Amid Diss Rumors

A lot of fans think that Childish Gambino is sending shots at Drake on his Bando Stone cut “Yoshinoya,” which has many of them looking back at their history together and what could’ve gone wrong. In the process of fans “picking their side,” though, many OVO die-hards are harping on the idea that Donald Glover named his second son “Drake” in 2018 after the 6ix God. Moreover, these followers clowned the multi-hyphenate for supposedly displaying such an obsession with Aubrey that his child needs to remind him of him.

However, others not only flipped this to mean that Drizzy is Childish Gambino’s son, but also called out that it’s the OVO fans who became too obsessed to realize that Drake is not an exclusive trademark term to refer to the Toronto superstar, but rather a very common name. Regardless, there’s actually a lot of material here for a potential beef brewing. Many fans felt that Gambino’s new album Bando Stone And The New World had a lot of Drake influence on it with the rap flows and the vocal tone, for example. Whether or not you agree, you can see the fanbases build their angles in real-time.

Drake Fans Think Childish Gambino Obsesses Over Drake… And Their Argument Is Very Ironic

Also, this isn’t the only presumable beef that Childish Gambino possibly ignited on Bando Stone, as some bars on the album seemingly aim at Joe Budden. “They in the minor leagues, but I’m pro-Black / I bet he hate his mom, how you know that? / You got a podcast ’cause you can’t rap / You on some Fresh and Fit s**t, talking body counts / I count a body every time I’m on tracks,” he raps on the cut. Ironically enough, Budden had said last year that Drake would 100% beat Gambino in a rap battle.

Nevertheless, all of these beef assumptions and arguments and all that don’t matter at all, because Childish Gambino probably doesn’t want beef with Drake. We already saw Glover’s relative lack of love for Graham’s Kendrick Lamar beef that popped off earlier this year. Also, for every potential subliminal bar at another MC on Bando Stone, there are three or four other lines that make it clear he doesn’t care about any smoke. So at the end of the day, much like what the Kendrick situation eventually became, this is more about fanbases fighting each other through their favs rather than the artists actually being combative.

ScHoolboy Q’s Canceled Toronto Show Was At Venue Reportedly Ran By Drake & Live Nation

ScHoolboy Q’s canceled Toronto show has been the talk of the hip-hop town for the past day or so, and for very good reason. Moreover, there’s a lot of speculation and discourse right now surrounding this situation, especially his claims that Canadian police don’t want anyone from TDE performing. Of course, this is notable thanks to Drake’s Kendrick Lamar beef, with the main conspiracy theory at play being that the West Coast isn’t welcome in the 6ix and that OVO is pulling strings to sabotage them. Furthermore, the Instagram page description of HISTORY, the venue where Q was supposed to perform, says that it’s in collaboration between Live Nation and Drizzy, further fueling this accusation.

Still, this is too vague and unclear to really tell whether or not Drake is responsible for this, but it’s certainly an interesting idea. “THey just cancelled my sHow in TORONTO [crying-laughing emoji]… CANADIAN POLICE DONT WANT NOBODY FROM TDE PERFORMING..” ScHoolboy Q had tweeted. “TOP was just wit Wayne & Baby smH partynextdoor just Had a sHow @ tHe palladium. if we wanted to get yall we would’ve just did it.. now wHen sumbody get Hurt don’t cry… Actually I get it.. Drake Gets A Double Helping Of Pain With “Story Of Adidon” x “6:16 In LA” Mashup

Drake should probably stay offline for the next few hours, lest he find a jump scare with two of his rap beef rivals “teaming up.” Moreover, a new mashup of Pusha T and Kendrick Lamar’s diss tracks against him, “The Story Of Adidon” and “6:16 In LA” respectively, has hit the Internet, and The Boy’s haters are loving it. Of course, this is unofficial and is just an example of a fan having fun with these disses, but it does open up the convo around Push and K.Dot’s beefs once again. Many felt that the latter carried the former’s torch forward, whereas others expressed disappointment with their similar angles.

Furthermore, this comes as folks like DJ Akademiks expressed their belief that Kendrick Lamar is “milking” this Drake beef too much. “So my last thoughts on this is a pathetic attempt, I believe, by pgLang and TDE to try to bait Drake out,” DJ Akademiks posited. “Talking about ‘redemption is not off the table.’ N***a, listen, call me the spokesperson for Drake or OVO, but I can tell you, n***a. Drake is gonna drop amazing music, it’s gonna be good. If you think he gon’ keep going back and forth with that n***a calling him a pedophile and lying, he’s not. So move on, hurry along, and y’all go drop y’all music. See you n***as on the f***ing charts. That’s it, okay? That’s it. There’s no more conversation, that’s it.”

Kendrick Lamar & Pusha T’s Drake Diss Tracks Are A Match Made In Heaven

Regardless, this is one of many mashups involving Drake disses these days, and they probably won’t slow down anytime soon. It also comes amid new music rumors for both Kendrick Lamar and Drizzy, whereas Pusha T has also teased new material in the last few months. Whether the Toronto superstar chooses to go for a round two or not is a mystery, but it seems quite unlikely. If OVO waits out the storm, then pgLang will be the one to tire folks out first.

But that camp will also always have the joy of trolling Drake over his losses, which is exactly what mashups like these create online. Even if Kendrick Lamar and Pusha T never talked about him again, these connections entrench them in history too deeply. We doubt that either “The Story Of Adidion” or “6:16 In LA” will ever truly take the 6ix God down. But they sure do sound great together.

Joe Budden Can’t Help But Vibe Out To Drake’s Collab With Camila Cabello

As much as Joe Budden might have a problem with Drake on many levels, he’s also often conceded that he likes a lot of his material, that he respects him as a rapper, and that it’s a pretty complicated relationship. If you want proof of that, look no further than his latest podcast episode reaction to the 6ix God’s new collaboration with Camila Cabello on her album C,XOXO. Moreover, maybe folks mostly remember Joe’s thoughts on Drizzy through the lens of the recent Kendrick Lamar beef. While he might not always like Aubrey when he acts tough, he does like him with the melodies pretty often.

Furthermore, you can see from The Joe Budden Podcast‘s general reaction to “HOT UPTOWN” that not everyone was as impressed and into it as the titular host. “That’s enough, that’s enough,” Budden said of the Drake collaboration about a minute into it. “We don’t need to hear no more of that. Who don’t know that that’s a hit? Who don’t know that that’s going to take the game where it needs to be? Come on, for the summertime? Coming off of the beef? Perfect thing to do.”

The Joe Budden Podcast Reacts To Drake’s Camila Cabello Collabs

Elsewhere during The Joe Budden Podcast‘s discussion, they spoke on how Drake took things back to a lot of his earlier breezy hits and catchiness. Some folks were “thrown off” by this approach, but the consensus was mostly positive, especially when considering it in a summer context. It’s similar to how folks responded to this and the “Uugly” interlude online: some appreciate the melodic approach, others praise it in a back-handed manner, and some people are just haters. The way the cookie crumbles.

Meanwhile, we wonder if these new Drake tracks will impact folks’ current discussion around who is the better rapper between him and Kendrick Lamar. We definitely know that Joe Budden feels pretty confident in the latter, but rap artists don’t always have to be lyrical masterminds to get praise. No matter how much we play this song in the summer, it’s exciting to move forward for both of these artists. Despite their decade-plus-long run, platforms like The Joe Budden Podcast show that folks are still very excited about what they have to offer in any capacity.

Megan Thee Stallion Sings Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” At Her Los Angeles Concert

Megan Thee Stallion’s “Hot Girl Summer” tour has held a lot of great moments so far, but not a lot when it comes to potentially messy drama with other artists, and that’s a great thing. However, if it were to happen once, it’s very understandable that it would happen concerning her not-so-good standings with Drake right now. Moreover, the Houston femcee sang “Not Like Us” at her Los Angeles show on Friday (June 21), paying tribute to the West Coast’s perceived victory in the Kendrick Lamar and Drizzy beef. It was a small rendition of just the chorus with a little dance, but it was also a big statement in some ways.

Of course, you didn’t need Megan Thee Stallion to tell you that Kendrick Lamar beat Drake; after all, K.Dot already took his victory lap with “The Pop Out” show in L.A. on Juneteenth. But considering the Compton lyricist’s previous lyrical shoutouts to Meg on “family ties” and her issues with the OVO mogul, a response of some kind became inevitable. For those unaware, things between her and The Boy became contentious when he rapped about a woman “lying about getting shots, but she’s still a stallion” on his 2022 album Her Loss. It was impossible not to see this as a shot against the “BOA” artist, and she certainly took it as such.

Since then, things grew more complicated and combative with Megan Thee Stallion’s beef with Nicki Minaj, although many now think that her perceived shots at Nicki were aimed for Drake’s neck all along. Regardless, we don’t know whether or not the two biggest rap beefs of the year so far will continue or not. Maybe Kendrick Lamar and company will quickly move on to something else, or Young Money will throw their bat back into the ring. Either way, we’re sure it won’t be a pretty healing process.

Meanwhile, Megan is coming soon, and the new album garnered a lot of hype up to this point. Hopefully Megan Thee Stallion delivers with something special, as she did a great job so far of doing so with her live shows this year. Will we get some more bars for the Kendrick Lamar and Drake beef, or for her own issues with Aubrey Graham? We’ll see…

Common Reveals Drake’s Dad Squashed Their Beef In Person

Common was one of Drake’s earliest big rap beefs, and it happened so long ago that many current OVO Stans probably don’t know that much about it. Either way, things eventually cleared up and all seems relatively well between both rappers, at least from the Chicago MC’s statements on the Toronto superstar. Moreover, the spitter and actor recently appeared on Drink Champs along with Pete Rock to talk about a whole slew of topics, including some more assessments of Drizzy’s beef with Kendrick Lamar. He ended up revealing some more details about their encounter at the 2012 Grammy Awards that squashed their feud, something that Aubrey Graham’s father apparently was instrumental in achieving.

“I eventually saw Drake face to face,” Common began his recollection of that night. “It was at a point where I was like, ‘Wassup?’ And we had [some] little words. And then his father was there and was like, ‘Y’all need to squash this.’ And I was like, ‘Man, this an elder talking to me. This this man’s father. Let me chill out.’ And then Drake just was like, ‘I ain’t on this.’ So we just squashed it.

The conversation around Drake’s father squashing their beef begins at around the 34-minute and 15-second mark of the video above.

“I was like, ‘Listen, if we face to face, then alright, I’m done with it,’” Common continued. “‘Even if it was some subliminal disses, I said what I had to say. Right now, we saying we squashing it. We good.’ I felt like Drake was sending me a couple of shots, subliminals. I don’t know what motivated him to send me some shots. But I think what for sure had me, if I’m just being real, like, you know, we mess with one of the same girls.

You know wars happen over women. That’s just what it is,” Common concluded. “I ain’t going to get at you if you with somebody I was with. But if you start throwing me a couple little, you know, you trying to throw some jabs then I’m like, ‘Come on, man, okay.’”

Peter Rosenberg Thinks Drake & OVO 40 Seek “The Homie Treatment” From Trendy Celebrities

Drake, his producer Noah “40” Shebib, and the rest of the OVO crew have been under fire ever since March of 2024 thanks to rap beef. However, as a result of those back-and-forth diss tracks, another conversation emerged about how they allegedly expect certain treatment from the media and their peers. Moreover, you probably already heard the claim that DJ Cipha Sounds played Kendrick Lamar’s PDF-file-alleging “Not Like Us” at Toronto, and that 40 responded with a scathing condemnation. Turns out that Cipha didn’t actually play the track and removed the post, but he had another similar story to tell Peter Rosenberg on the Juan Ep Is Life show that illustrates their issues with the two.

Furthermore, DJ Cipha Sounds recalled when he posted an old picture of him with longtime collaborator Pusha T, and how 40 criticized his post directly to him given Drake’s beef with the Clipse member. “To not be a d**k,” Cipha took the photo down, which led Peter Rosenberg to remark on an incident where his critique of the “God’s Plan” music video got him a very angry phone call from The Boy. According to Rosenberg, the issue with this OVO duo is that they expect “the homie treatment” from the media and fellow artists. The real problem lies in how they just supposedly expect this leniency and support without giving these celebrities a reason to do so.

Peter Rosenberg & DJ Cipha Sounds Speak On Drake & 40

For example, Peter Rosenberg brought up that he hasn’t talked to Kendrick Lamar in years, but is still connected to the TDE camp. Even though he hasn’t spoken with K.Dot in a while, folks like Top Dawg and Punch still hit him up, send him tracks, and stay in touch. On the flip side, in the radio host’s opinion, Drake simply attaches himself to hot media personalities like Adin Ross, Bobbi Althoff, and DJ Akademiks for the clout of it and doesn’t do his part to be a “homie” in return. However, Rosenberg also clarified that these reactions are very understandable and especially so right now, given that Drizzy’s team has suffered violence that, while unconfirmed and unlikely to connect to the rap battle, has everyone on edge on top of feeling defensive against popular diss tracks.

Some people don’t think the beef is over, but it’s clear that most of us are taking a more retrospective look at the whole thing. Allegedly, so are Drake and 40 by keeping their loyalties and circles skeptical and in check. But what Peter Rosenberg and DJ Cipha Sounds are talking about is much more complicated, gray, and nuanced than simple fake love. That’s a song by the 6ix God, and what they’re talking about is something that no track can really tackle either way.

Drake Unfollows Elliott Wilson, The Latter Claims After “Meet The Grahams” Edit

Elliott Wilson may have caught flack for posting an edited version of “Meet The Grahams,” but he’s definitely no OVO die-hard, either. Moreover, he remarked that all of the tracks in the Drake and Kendrick Lamar beef have been good except “The Heart Part 6,” and has been quite critical of Drizzy in particular along with his jabs towards K.Dot. But it seems like the Toronto superstar has finally had enough of being at odds with the Rap Radar host, because Wilson made a very interesting claim on Twitter this morning (Friday, May 10). “The BOY unfollowed me on IG,” he wrote, which led many in the replies to mock The Boy, question why this would be so surprising, criticize the journalist, or just comment on the situation in general.

Furthermore, Drake and Elliott Wilson have butted heads quite a lot over the past year or so, starting as recently as July of last year. The latter criticized the former for not doing any more interviews that were “within the culture,” such as radio interviews, podcasts with hip-hop media, magazines, other rap-centric outlets, etc. Following a pretty dismissive and trolling response from Aubrey, Wilson apologized to him given their strong rapport over the years. At least, a rapport that stuck around much more before he strayed away from a lot of hip-hop media in his superstardom.

Elliott Wilson Claims Drake No Longer Follows Him

I’m actually very disappointed in this song,” Elliott Wilson said of Drake’s “The Heart Part 6” in a conversation with DJ Akademiks. “The problem I’m having with Drake in this whole thing is that he refuses to view Kendrick as a worthy opponent. He still keeps little bro-ing him like we’re in the Club Paradise days. I just don’t think that’s the right strategy, He needs to deliver bars and go at him. He hadn’t even made a whole record direct to Kendrick yet. He’s all about airing everyone out that’s going against him. Obviously, there’s a whole movement and Metro orchestrated a lot of it.

“He doesn’t get why Kendrick is so big and why people love him so much and the type of music he makes and the success he has,” Elliott Wilson continued. “He doesn’t connect to it… I think a lot of people don’t like Drake, but they all respect him. You can’t not respect The Boy because of what he’s done.”
