Doja Cat’s Deluxe ‘Scarlet’ Album Leaked, But She Absolutely Couldn’t Care Less About It And Explained Why

Doja Cat is gearing up to release the deluxe edition of her album Scarlet soon, but some, it would seem, have already gotten ahold of it via leaks. While some artists get upset about leaks, it looks like Doja doesn’t care even a little bit.

In response to one fan asking Doja to “do something” about the leak, Doja responded, “idk why you guys care so much about leaks.” She added in another tweet, “what does it mean when someone leaks an album why do people get upset?”

Somebody responded, “cuz you lose streams,” and Doja replied, “but i dont care????” Somebody else said, “the album will still be a hit ikdr muva,” and Doja answered, “why does that matter either though?”

One fan, surprised by Doja’s response to this news, tweeted, “Thought you would be cussing out people having a breakdown or sum.” Doja replied, “LMAO nah [crying emoji].” Another user wrote, “I mean it’s lowkey disrespectful if you set a date and people are dropping it early w/o permission.” Doja responded, “No its definitely messed up cuz i wanted to put it out myself but theres nothing i can do about it!! thats just how its gonna be but at least i can just keep being creative and look forward to the awesome things i have coming up!!”

Doja Cat Album Leaks Aren’t Phasing Singer, She Names Pitbull In Her Big 3 Rappers

From 2009 to 2011, Pitbull was one of the dominating voices in the music industry. From “I Know You Want Me (Calle Ocho)” to “Give Me Everything” with Afrojack and Ne-Yo, he never disappoints. If there’s anyone who knows how to get the party going, it’s the Miami-born entertainer. Now, Doja Cat is wondering why people don’t give Pitbull his flowers more often.

On Wednesday (April 3), the California native asked, “HOW is Pitbull not in the big three???????” This prompted her Twitter/X followers to ask who else Doja would rank alongside the Spanish-speaking icon. “Chingy and Baby Bash,” she declared. When someone suggested replacing the former with “Low” hitmaker Flo Rida, the femcee decided to change her list to a top four and add him in too. “Yaaaaass 😍,” Doja enthusiastically responded.

Doja Cat Gives Credit Where Credit Is Due

Elsewhere on Twitter/X, the 28-year-old is growing frustrated with people complaining to her about the deluxe version of Scarlet surfacing online early. “Idk why you guys care so much about leaks,” she replied to one concerned user. “I mean it’s lowkey disrespectful if you set a date and people are dropping it early w/o permission,” a fan explained their stance to Doja.

“Balut” Artist Keeps a Positive Head on Her Shoulders Amid Deluxe Leaks

“No it’s definitely messed up,” she agreed. “‘Cuz I wanted to put it out myself but there’s nothing I can do about it!!” the multi-talent added, keeping a calm head amid the mercury retrograde shenanigans. “That’s just how it’s gonna be, but at least I can just keep being creative and look forward to the awesome things I have coming up!!” Elsewhere, Doja Cat spent a few minutes arguing with people insisting that she cares about her streaming numbers and encouraging stan accounts to think for themselves before getting caught up in anger over things that are out of their control.

Who Is Claude Frollo From Doja Cat’s ‘Scarlet’ Deluxe?

Yesterday (April 2), Doja Cat unveiled the (revealing) album cover for her upcoming Scarlet deluxe edition, titled Scarlet II: Claude Frollo. One question that might immediately bring to mind is:

Who Is Claude Frollo From Doja Cat’s Scarlet Deluxe?

Frollo is the antagonist from the 1831 French novel The Hunchback Of Notre-Dame (and Disney’s The Hunchback Of Notre Dame, the animated 1996 film based on the book). Maybe you recognize the Disney version from this commonly used reaction image.

In a The Therapy Gecko Podcast interview from February, Doja explained why she named the project after the character, saying:

“Because he is like a… is he a tyrant? He’s like a… I feel like it connects to the story of Scarlet in some way. And if you look up his personality traits and who he is and his story, you’ll understand kind of the whole connection. There’s a control aspect, like he just abuses his power and his control and is just dogmatic and is just a total c*nt. And all Esmerelda wanted to do was just be creative and sing and dance, but nasty old Claude Frollo was just having a field day on her, just being awful and a bad guy, stinky man.

And this isn’t about anyone in… there’s not anything very personal happening to me with one person. Claude Frollo doesn’t depict a single person in my life. It’s like a metaphor for the people that creatives endure on a daily basis in a bigger picture, a bigger scale.”

Doja Cat Announces “Scarlet 2: Claude Frollo” And Reveals A Mystery Feature In New Trailer

Doja Cat still has a lot of haters out there, but that is not going to stop her one bit from making a massive return. A few days ago, the California rapper and singer revealed cover art for an upcoming single “Masc.” It went viral on social media, with fans declaring it was the artist’s “pubic hair” or “sheep’s wool”. However, she decided to clear the air, albeit frustratingly. “Let’s move forward. Let’s grow. “Cause I can’t tell you what to do, I’m not your f***ing parents. Like pubic hair? Really? That’s where we stand.” Dust settling aside, this Doja Cat track was announced to promote Scarlet 2: Claude Frollo, the deluxe of her last record.

According to HipHopDX, fans were treated to this pleasant news by way of a trailer and sneak peek of “Masc.” The teaser features Doja Cat in silhouette, complemented with smooth videography, and a white backdrop with a shadow of the spider from the Scarlet cover. However, for a brief moment, there is another figure shown to us. The person appears for just long enough for us to decipher that it is almost certainly Teezo Touchdown.

Fans in the comments spotted the massive shoulder pads and bowl haircut as well, with one person saying, “IS THAT TEEZO?!!!!” Genius also seems to believe that to be the case, as he is credited as a feature on “Masc.” There is a possibility of 11 bonus cuts, according to them, but we will not know for sure until it drops. Speaking of which, Scarlet 2: Claude Frollo will hit streaming services on Friday, April 5. Doja first teased the idea of a deluxe back in January.

What are your thoughts on Doja Cat announcing Scarlet 2: Claude Frollo? Is this going to improve Scarlet, or make it worse and why? Do you think the silhouette in the trailer for “Masc” is Teezo Touchdown? If it is, will this collaboration be a success, why or why not? Is the album still in your rotation? If so, which tracks? We would like to hear what you have to say, so be sure to leave your takes in the comments section. For a little while now, Doja Cat has been teasing a deluxe edition of her album Scarlet. Now, she has revealed more, and “revealed” is the right word there: She shared the cover art for Scarlet II: Claude Frollo today (April 2), and it features a photo of Doja facing away from the camera in a squatting position, which shows off her mostly bare backside.

Back in January, Doja shared a working tracklist for the project, featuring songs called “Acknowledge Me,” “Head High,” “Gang,” “Masc,” “Rider,” Urrrge,” and “Hungry.” It remains to be seen how or if the tracklist will end up being different than that version. “Masc” is definitely included, as Doja is set to release the song soon.

In an interview on The Therapy Gecko Podcast in February, Doja explained her reasoning for naming the project after Hunchback Of Notre Dame character Claude Frollo, saying:

Doja Cat’s New Single ‘Masc’ Announced Before Release of Album ‘Scarlet’ Deluxe Edition

Doja Cat Kicks Off 'The Scarlet Tour' with Sold-Out San Francisco Show

Doja Cat posted on Instagram that an upcoming new single, “Masc,” is dropping on April 5. The pop artist, who’s been exploring her rap roots lately, shared a snippet of the song in the post. Back in January, she posted a whiteboard image with a tracklist. That’s where she hinted at “S2,” which eluded to the deluxe edition of “Scarlet,” coming soon. On that trackless was today’s announcement for “Masc” among seven other songs, including “Acknowledge Me,” “Head High,” “Gang,” “Rider,” “Urge,” and “Hungry.”

ICYMI, last month, Doja appeared on “The Therapy Gecko Podcast,” yes that’s a thing in the world of social audio, and it’s popular, so anyway, the conversation revealed that Scarlet 2 is a deluxe edition of its predecessor “Scarlet” and will be entitled “Scarlet 2: Claude Frollo.” If you need a brief literary lesson, that comes from the iconic character of “The Hunchback of Notre Dame.” Here’s what else she said “I feel like it connects to the story of ‘Scarlet’ in some way,” she said, “and if you look up his personality traits and who he is and his story, you’ll understand the whole connection. There’s a control aspect. He just abuses his power and his control and is dogmatic and a total cunt.”

As Variety reported, “Scarlet” was supposed to be Doja Cat’s return to her rap roots. This came about after much criticism that Doja was too much in the pop lane, and some even considered her previous two albums “cash grabs.” Um, so? Get your money, Doja, and that she did with Scarlet. The album debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard 200 and came with hit singles that included “Attention,” “Agora Hills,” and “Paint the Town Red,” which all hit the top of the Hot 100. Sheesh. Pop or rap, she wins.

Get this: Doja is booked to headline at Coachella, which will precede her first arena tour, which she is headlining in the United Kingdom and Europe. Doja’s first U.K. concert is slated for June 9 in Manchester, then she has scheduled stops in Paris, Sweden and Norway. Let’s see what “Masc” sounds like and see if her return to rap still holds up. We think it will.

Doja Cat claps back at Hair Critics Following Release of New Single

Doja Cat claps back at Hair Critics Following Release of New Single

If you don’t have anything nice to say, Doja Cat would like you to say nothing at all. That was the theme of the singer’s message on an Instagram live video following criticism of a photo of her natural hair, which she posted as the cover art for her new single “Masc.”

Doja posted the picture of her tight blonde curls on Instagram on Friday with a clip of “Masc” and a debut date of April 5, 2024.

However, some commenters decided to be unreasonably negative, comparing her hair to popcorn, wool, and carpet, among other x-rated things, prompting the “Paint the Town Red” singer to disable comments before taking to Instagram Live to address the mean-spirited posters.

“I’m seeing a consistent pattern of people in the comments section of people saying ‘Is my hair pubic hair? Is it carpet or is it sheep’s wool?’ People comparing my hair to sheep and pubes and carpet and popcorn and sh** like that….you gotta move forward…let’s grow, let’s stop. I can’t tell you what to do, I’m not your f*cking parents, you know what I mean? I don’t want to say too much.”

Doja spent about ten seconds in silence just shaking her head before ending the video.

“Masc” is one of several singles that Doja has teased in anticipation of her upcoming release of ‘Scarlet’ Deluxe Edition. Doja is also currently set to headline at Coachella, followed by a tour in the United Kingdom and Europe.

Doja Cat Slams Trolls For Comparing Her 4C Hair To ‘Pubes’ Online After Sharing The ‘Masc’ Single Cover Artwork

Doja Cat is known for having a wicked sense of humor. The Grammy Award-winner certainly isn’t above toeing the line when it comes to obscene topics, including Satanism. However, when it comes to her hair, all bets are off.

During what appears to be an Instagram Live, the “Agora Hills” rapper slammed trolls for their childish remarks about her hair. “I’m seeing a consistent pattern in my comment section of people asking, ‘Is my hair pubic hair,” she said. “And it’s not even questions. Some people are like, ‘That is what it is.’ We gotta move forward. Let’s stop… I need you guys to get on that…not comparing 4C hair textures to pubes.”

The influx of comments stemmed from Doja unveiling the cover artwork for her forthcoming single, “Masc.” On March 29, the musician returned from her brief hiatus from the platform to share the news of the track’s pending release. However, given the influx of insensitive critiques, Doja could disappear from the platform yet again.

In her goodbye letter to followers, Doja was spot on when she wrote, “The way I’m spoken to on here and treated makes me have f*cked up thoughts.” Users recent actions validated her initial desire to disappear from social media.

Doja Cat Ended Her Social Media Hiatus With The Announcement Of ‘Masc,’ Her Next Single’s Release Date

Early this month, Doja Cat announced she would take an Instagram hiatus to preserve her mental health (although, being Doja, she would never put it in such a cliche way). Today, she reactivated her account, which now only includes one post: A extremely close-up photo of Doja’s hair with a caption announcing the imminent release date for her new single, “MASC.” The song drops on April 5.

Doja was one of a bunch of artists who seemingly flourished through social media interactions with fans. Whether she was previewing new music or trolling followers with sh*tposts and bad jokes, the California rapper always appeared to be in her element. However, over the past couple of years, fans’ interactions have become increasingly combative.

When she debuted a new haircut, they complained she wasn’t sexy enough. When she shared photos of her new tattoos, she was accused of Satanism. Even her wardrobe was subject to scrutiny, albeit somewhat justifiably so.

So it makes sense why, on March 9, Doja wrote, “Hey, I’m gonna deactivate because I’m not really feeling this anymore. You guys take care of yourselves. I like coming here to find inspo and see people being creative. But I just feel like this is getting to be too much. The way I’m spoken to on here and treated makes me have f*cked up thoughts. Please watch how you talk to and about people on the internet. Bye.”

It looks like the time away was productive, though; we’ll see what she’s cooked up on 4/5.
