Drake Drops Three New Records From Finsta IG @Plottttwistttttt

image

Drake has just dropped. He does that. Often it seems. Three new tracks—”Circadian Rhythm,” “SOD,” and “No Face” featuring Playboi Carti all “leaked” through @plottttwistttttt, his finsta IG account.

Let’s get right to it.

”SOD” might be familiar to fans as it was previously known as “Supersoak,” a track that streamer Kai Cenat debuted last month. Get this, initially, it featured a verse from Lil Yachty, but after clearance issues over sample with Mr. HotSpot. Yachty’s verse was removed for the official release. Interesting.

The track “Circadian Rhythm” is sparking speculation due to its possible connection to Kendrick Lamar’s diss track “6:16 in LA.” Some listeners believe the song’s title references a line from Lamar’s track, where he raps about “circadian rhythms of a shooting star,” hinting at a potential response from Drake in the ongoing tension between the two artists. Who knows. We’ll see if Dot responds or thinks he even needs to.

In “No Face,” Drake takes aim at his critics, rapping, “I’m just so happy that n—s who envied and held that shit in got to finally show it / I’m over the moon, yeah, we’ll see you boys soon.” Sounds about right.

ICYMI, these new releases follow a recent drop from Drake on 100gigs.org, where he shared a massive collection of unreleased music, behind-the-scenes footage, tour set designs, and studio clips. Among the previous releases were tracks like “It’s Up” featuring Young Thug and 21 Savage, “Blue Green Red,” and “Housekeeping Knows” featuring Latto, which also made their initial debut on his Instagram burner before being officially released on streaming platforms.

Content, content, content.

Netflix just dropped the first look and announced the premiere date for its upcoming thriller series, “The Madness”, starring Academy Award nominee Colman Domingo.

Here’s what we know so far.

The eight-episode series, set to debut on November 28, 2024, promises a gripping and intense narrative centered around media pundit Muncie Daniels, played by Domingo.

In “The Madness”, Daniels stumbles upon a murder deep in the Poconos woods, launching him into a desperate fight for survival. As he struggles to uncover the truth and clear his name, Daniels must also reconnect with his estranged family and reevaluate the beliefs and ideals he once held dear.

“Everything about this conspiracy thriller excited me,” Domingo shared in an interview with Tudum. “It was a unique protagonist, one that I had never seen or experienced. Someone who has very centrist beliefs, and now they’re being thrust into the world to really hard-core believe in something and to reexamine the people that they believed were possible enemies. You realize you have more in common with them than you thought you had in the beginning.”

Behind the camera, the series is created by Stephen Belber and co-showrun by Belber and VJ Boyd. Clément Virgo directs and serves as an executive producer alongside Peter Chernin, Jenno Topping, and Kaitlin Dahill. The cast also includes Marsha Stephanie Blake, Gabrielle Graham, John Ortiz, Tamsin Topolski, and TJ Mixon.

Steve Harvey Not Here For Dr. Umar’s Claims Harris Campaign Paid For Support

image

Steve Harvey is not the for BS when it comes to Dr. Umar slandering his name.

Dr. Umar Johnson recently sparked controversy by accusing Steve Harvey and other prominent Black celebrities of accepting payments to pressure the Black community into voting for Vice President Kamala Harris in the upcoming election.

Let’s just stop right here. Dr. Umar is an interesting character. His brand is undeniably a kin to stirring controversy, generally by challenging his so called influential peers’ albeit their blackness, intentions within the Black community or what he thinks Black people should do as a community. The real question we’d like to know is what ever happened to that school of his he was building? We’ll wait.

Anyway, carrying the heck on …

Steve Harvey, however, stood on his ten toes and addressed these claims during his radio show, ”The Steve Harvey Morning Show.”

“Brother Umar, let me say this, man. I absolutely love some of the things you say. I really, really do. Some of the stuff, I don’t always agree with, but ain’t nobody got to agree with everything I say,” Harvey remarked. “But let me clear the air on something. You can’t hire Steve Harvey for $10,000. I don’t know where you got that number from, but you can’t offer Steve Harvey $10,000 to do nothing. You can go through the industry and ask about me.”

Harvey went on to say: “I don’t do nothing, nothing, for $10,000. Don’t even insult the brand equity that I built over these 30 years on television. I just don’t, man. I’m doing this absolutely free of charge because I want this country to be in her hands as opposed to Donald Trump’s hands. That’s who I do it for.”

Harvey also mentioned Rickey Smiley and D.L. Hughley, saying they shared his stance and declared they are “running the airwaves of Black radio.” He went on to insist he has not “received a single dollar from anybody to do what I do. I’m doing it gladly. And I’m going to freely have her on here again and again and again. I am going to freely ask soft a”” questions. I am going to freely lodge the basketball so she can slam dunk all these questions. I am going to freely sit here and agree.”

Harvey concluded with: “The Black vote is not for sale. But it is a very important block of votes that can control the outcome of this election. And if I have my way, and it’s within God’s will, she will be the next President of the United States. Because the alternative, it’s only two people running for President. If somebody offered you $10,000, you should’ve took it. Ain’t nobody offer me nothing. Please don’t insult me. It cost way more for me to turn this mic on.”

And that’s that.

Controversial Star Wars Series ‘The Acolyte’ Abruptly Cancelled at Disney+

image

Whelp, that’s that for ”The Acolyte” which has been canceled and won’t return for a second season on Disney+.

Surprising? Not sure. The series had more than decent reviews but those often excitable Star Wars fans felt a way about it. Not saying that played a role.

The news, which surfaced in various trade publications, which Deadline reported on has left some fans shocked. Many took to Threads to express their disappointment and protest the decision. See, excitable.

ICYMI the series, created by Leslye Headland, had just one season, and its abrupt cancellation surprised fans, especially since actor Manny Jacinto recently promoted the show at D23.

Get this, according to Deadline, Lucasfilm decided not to proceed with the series, which concluded on a cliffhanger. Ugh, that always hurts when they leave fans hanging like that.

The final episode featured Amandla Stenberg’s character, Osha, turning to the dark side to become the acolyte of Jacinto’s mysterious Sith master.

Stenberg also portrayed Osha’s twin, Mae, who was initially trained by Jacinto’s character before aligning with the Jedi.

So basically, the official reason for the cancellation has not been disclosed.

Look, we want one. Fans deserve one. But we’re probably not getting one, ha.

The show had a dope international cast, including Lee Jung-jae, Jodie Turner-Smith, Margarita Levieva, Charlie Barnett, Dafne Keen, Rebecca Henderson, and Carrie-Anne Moss. Fans praised the series for its racial and gender diversity, as well as its inclusion of LGBTQ+ characters.

The Acolyte was the first Star Wars series led by a woman of color … with Stenberg—a queer woman of color—playing the lead.

And it’s cancelled. Interesting.

The show also received acclaim for its critique of the Jedi’s imperialistic views, emphasizing that “absolute power corrupts absolutely,” whether Jedi or Sith. Like the entire premise isn’t about an evil authoritarian empire that oppresses pretty much everyone in it’s path.

However, the series faced backlash from racist and sexist viewers, often referred to as “the fandom menace.” That part was a thing. Please believe it.

Maybe the viewership vs. production costs played a role. That’s always an issue in the streaming content game.

Let’s not play guesstimate why it got cancelled but we can infer all day long. SMH.

50 Cent Fires Back at Hurricane Chris After Louisiana Rapper Calls Him Out on Socials: “Ya Sh*t Is Wack”

Screen Shot 2024 08 19 at 7.24.39 PM

50 Cent legit enjoys the smoke. The G-Unit boss just fired back at Hurricane Chris after the Louisiana rapper went at 50 over the lineup of the Humor & Harmony Festival in Shreveport.

How many of ya’ll even remember Hurricane Chris? He had a massive record back in the day, “A Bay Bay” and then well, faded away.

Anyway, Hurricane Chris expressed frustration on socials, claiming the festival lacked Louisiana artists, See, social media again. Not always worth it. But yea, Chris accused 50 Cent of neglecting local talent while spending $500,000 on security.

Chris said, “You threw a motherf**king concert in Louisiana and didn’t book no Louisiana legends… but you paid the police half a million dollars.”

In response, 50 Cent ate that up and took to the gram to mock Chris using clips from movies. In one post, he shared a scene from *Juice* where a character is rejected for a DJ gig, writing, “Hurricane Flex, boy ya sh*t is wack, the fvck you think you @fredobang. Ya sh*t gets no play in my ride. LOL.” He followed with a clip from *Menace II Society*, again referencing Chris’s music: “You know that sh*t gets no play in this ride.” 50 also took a jab at Chris’s career, saying, “oh no you not gonna play that 1 song you got, Bay Bay just went on stage wit Master P. LOL.”

Chris continued his complaints on X (formerly Twitter), criticizing 50 Cent for prioritizing profit over the local community and accusing the city of Shreveport of exploiting 50’s fame for financial gain without benefiting the people.

50 is actually injecting a lot of money into the local economy. He has a film studio that assuredly employs locals and his recent comedy show definitely caused ripple effects with local businesses, not to mention shining a positive light on Shreveport.

We have to ask, what has Hurricane Chris done for the community he believes 50 neglected? If anyone has any intel, please let us know.
