Everybody Who Appears In Kendrick Lamar’s ‘Not Like Us’ Video

Kendrick Lamar decided to shoot off some fireworks of his own last night (July 4) by dropping his new video for the hit Drake diss “Not Like Us.”. The visual is definitely a team effort, as a handful of notable folks make guest appearances. The list includes:

Tommy The Clown

Tommy The Clown, a Los Angeles icon, was previously at Lamar’s The Pop Out concert (as were a number of other folks mentioned below). Here, he kicks off the video by asking Lamar for a password and hitting play on the song.

Whitney Alford and children

This one is perhaps the video’s most notable guest: Alford is Lamar’s fiancée and their two children also appear, with the four of them dancing to the song. These cameos are presumably a clap-back at Drake: On “Family Matters,” he alleged that Dave Free is actually the father of one of Alford and Lamar’s kids. Speaking of Free…

Dave Free

…he’s in the video, too. He co-directed it, actually, indicating that there is no bad blood between him and Kendrick.

DeMar DeRozan

This is a natural cameo, since the NBA star, who started his career in Drake’s hometown of Toronto before stints in San Antonio and Chicago, is mentioned in the song’s lyrics: “I’m glad DeRoz’ came home, y’all didn’t deserve him neither.”

Mustard

Another logical inclusion: Mustard produced “Not Like Us,” and he drives home the Drake diss here by rocking a Toronto Blue Jays hat in the video.

YG

YG found himself involved in the Drake beef: Drake gave YG a positive shout-out on “Family Matters,” and while some thought YG later dissed Drake on his song “Weird,” YG denied it.

Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith

After launching his career with Top Dawg Entertainment, Lamar has moved onto a new label arrangement. It appears to be all love between him and his former boss, though, as Top Dawg pops up in the new video.

DeMar DeRozan Makes A Cameo In Kendrick Lamar’s ‘Not Like Us’ Video

When Kendrick Lamar and Drake started beefing earlier this year, I’m not sure anyone expected one of the diss tracks in their back-and-forth to become the song of the summer, but Kendrick’s “Not Like Us” has become an inescapable anthem that just keeps building momentum.

First there was “The Pop Out”, where Lamar filled the Forum in L.A. and drew millions of viewers on Amazon for a celebration of Los Angeles, culminating in him performing “Not Like Us” not one, not two, not three, not four, but five times in a row to close out the show. During his fourth time running it back, he brought up seemingly all of L.A. onto the stage, including a pair of NBA players, as L.A. natives Russell Westbrook and DeMar DeRozan gleefully danced on stage.

The victory lap continued as shortly after “The Pop Out”, Kendrick was seen filming the “Not Like Us” music video, and the Compton native dropped the visuals on July 4. In the video, DeRozan makes an appearance during Lamar’s “I’m glad DeRoz’ came home, y’all didn’t deserve him neither” line (2:42 mark), referencing the former Raptor’s stint in Toronto. Getting one of Drake’s beloved Raptors players to make a video appearance in a diss track is a special kind of twist of the knife from Kendrick, who has looked to find every possible way to make Drake miserable during this beef.

As for DeRozan, he is still figuring out where he’ll play next season, as it seems increasingly unlikely he’ll be back in Chicago and is exploring sign-and-trade options — which figure to include Los Angeles as a possible destination.

Russell Westbrook And DeMar DeRozan Danced On Stage For Kendrick Lamar’s Fourth Straight Performance Of ‘Not Like Us’ At The Pop Out

For a few hours on Wednesday night, Kendrick Lamar was the most powerful man on earth as he held The Pop Out in Los Angeles. The whole thing was quite the spectacle, as it turned into one of the biggest nights in music even before Kendrick got on stage and started his performance.

And then, Kendrick tore the house down at The Forum in Los Angeles, which included Black Hippy reuniting and running through a medley of songs. The high point of the performance came at the very end, when he performed his Drake diss “Not Like Us.” Then he did it again, and then he did it again … and then, for good measure, he did it a fourth time, with the crowd losing its mind the entire time. During his final performance, a number of people joined him on stage, which included two of L.A.’s most beloved basketball players, Russell Westbrook and DeMar DeRozan.

They weren’t the only NBA players who made it out on Wednesday night, as a collection of players that included LeBron James were in attendance. And as he ran through “Not Like Us,” Donovan Mitchell was like many of us who sat at home and watched

Anyway, after Kendrick did his fourth performance of “Not Like Us,” he took a picture with the huge group that popped up on stage … before doing “Not Like Us” for a fifth time.

Kendrick Lamar has dominated the year in music, as he turned his beef with Drake into chart-topping tracks and a wave of momentum that has been nothing short of incredible.

His final Drake diss, “Not Like Us” produced by Mustard, became an instant L.A. anthem, and gave way to the idea to put on a show in L.A. called The Pop Out, referencing a line from the track. On Wednesday night at the Kia Forum, Kendrick, Mustard, and DJ Hed took the stage with various friends, bringing a ton of stars out both on stage and in the crowd.

Among those were a number of NBA stars with L.A. ties, as some of the biggest names in basketball weren’t going to miss this moment. LeBron James, Russell Westbrook, James Harden, and DeMar DeRozan were all on hand, with DeRozan arriving early to support his fellow Compton native.

The livestream showed LeBron and Westbrook vibing during Mustard’s set, as he brought out Tyler the Creator, YG, and more to the Forum stage.

Harden was also in the building with another beard enthusiast, Rick Ross, who had more fun dissing Drake than anyone else and wasn’t going to miss a chance to be at Kendrick’s show.

As plenty of people noted, James’ presence had to have hurt Drake a bit, as the two have been tight in the past, but there LeBron was on the Forum floor as Kendrick performed his “Euphoria” diss in its entirety — with some new lyrics — and the crowd went crazy.

Kendrick Lamar left no stone unturned. The rapper put on a concert for the ages with his “Pop Out” show on Juneteenth. He had co-signs from legends, guest appearances from peers, and a handful of Drake disses that he performed for the very first time. “Not Like Us” was always going to be the closer. Dot made sure the fans got their money’s worth, though. The rapper performed the song five different times, and was joined by a few NBA superstars in the process.

Lamar’s smash single went off every time, but it was the fifth and final time that will go down as the show’s iconic moment. The rapper invited dozens of people onstage to help him bring the show home, which included NBA players Russell Westbrook and Demar DeRozan. Both players dapped up K. Dot, before dancing to the wildly catchy DJ Mustard beat. Westbrook and DeRozan also posed for the big group photo that was taken onstage at the very end of the “Pop Out.” Westbrook has been a longtime admirer of Lamar’s. Last month, he was filmed bobbing his head to another Lamar diss, “Euphoria.”

Kendrick Lamar Referenced DeRozan On “Not Like Us”

Westbrook also heaped praise on Kendrick Lamar when he was referenced in the rapper’s 2017 song “The Heart Part 4.” “K-Dot’s my man,” he told USA Sports. “I was surprised. I’m happy. Whenever you hear your name in a song you feel like ‘I made it’, especially from my man.” DeRozan, meanwhile, was mentioned by name on Lamar’s “Not Like Us.” “I’m glad DeRoz’ came home, y’all didn’t deserve him neither,” Dot spit. “From Alondra down to Central, n**ga better not speak on Serena.” This is a nod to the fact that DeRozan was born in Compton, but spent a decade on the Toronto Raptors, Drake’s hometown team. DeRozan’s Compton pride was on full display onstage.

Westbrook and DeRozan weren’t the only NBA stars who attended the “Pop Out” concert. James Harden was filmed dancing alongside another Drake enemy, Rick Ross. LeBron James was also photographed in the crowd. James was spotted dancing to “Not Like Us” at a Los Angeles club back in May, so it’s safe to assume he dug the repeat performances. All in all, a tough night to be team OVO.

Chicago Bulls guard-forward DeMar DeRozan has been named the NBA Cares Bob Lanier Community Assist Award winner for March. The award recognizes DeRozan’s outstanding contributions to mental health advocacy and youth support initiatives in Chicago.

DeRozan’s efforts include launching “Dinners with DeMar,” a video series where he engages in impactful conversations about mental health with current and former players. Featuring guests like Draymond Green, Damian Lillard, and Dwyane Wade, the series aims to break the stigma surrounding mental health challenges. Additionally, DeRozan hosted a premiere event at his alma mater, the University of Southern California, to further promote dialogue on mental health.

Partnering with Coffee, Hip-Hop & Mental Health (CHHAMH), DeRozan has supported efforts to provide free therapy to those facing financial barriers in Chicago. This includes launching a DeRozan-inspired coffee drink and hoodie, with proceeds benefiting CHHAMH’s therapy meetings.

“As a Bulls and NBA player, I’m grateful for the opportunity to build a platform I can use to make real change and work to break the stigma around mental health,” said DeRozan.  “Throughout the years, I’ve seen what can happen when people have honest conversations about mental health and understand that everyone faces challenges, including professional athletes. I look forward to creating more forums for difficult but necessary conversations and providing more resources to support mental health for those who most need it.”

Beyond mental health advocacy, DeRozan has also actively supported youth in the Chicago community. He recently partnered with Make-A-Wish to provide a VIP experience for a child and his family and hosted a young Bulls fan and cancer survivor on the team plane for an away game.

DeRozan will be recognized during the April 17 Hawks-Bulls NBA Play-In Tournament game, where he will receive the David Robinson trophy from Executive Vice President of Basketball Operations Artūras Karnišovas.

The NBA Cares Bob Lanier Community Assist Award honors players who positively impact their communities. Each monthly winner receives the David Robinson trophy and a donation to a charity or foundation of the player’s choice.

DeMar DeRozan Remains Haunted By LeBron James

DeMar DeRozan was one of the greatest players in the history of the Toronto Raptors. Although he never won a title with them, he was beloved. Overall, he wanted to be with the franchise until he retired. However, things did not work out that way as he was traded to the San Antonio Spurs. Of course, this is the deal that brought Kawhi Leonard to the Raptors. Subsequently, the Raptors went off and won their very first title. It was a huge blow to DeRozan, although he doesn’t feel as bad about it now.

When DeMar DeRozan played for the Raptors, he was constantly getting beaten by LeBron James. In 2018, the Raptors got swept by James and the Cavaliers. It was an awful series for the Raps, and it ultimately led to that trade. Moreover, James made some insane shots, including a floater to end the series in a sweep. It was a dejecting shot, and as DeRozan told Paul George on the latest episode of Podcast P, it is a shot that continues to haunt him. Paul George knows a thing or two about LeBron knocking him out of the playoffs, so at least DeMar had some support.

DeMar DeRozan Knows The Horrors

Neither DeMar DeRozan nor Paul George have ever eliminated LeBron from the playoffs. There were some who felt like George would get to do it as a member of the Clippers. However, these two teams have never so much as met up in the playoffs since Kawhi and PG joined forces. That said, LeBron is on a completely different level. He is in the Western Conference Finals for the second time as a Laker, and he has a chance to win a fifth NBA title.

Doing so, however, will prove to be difficult. He has to face the Denver Nuggets, and from there, the Heat or the Celtics. All of these teams are good and will put up a good fight. Although, LeBron still has that experience that is hard to discount. As for DeRozan, hopefully, James will stop haunting him one day. We’re sure he would appreciate that.

Paul George & DeMar DeRozan Decide If Bronny Is Better Than Some Players In The NBA

Paul George and DeMar DeRozan are two players that have done a lot in the NBA. Although neither has won an NBA title, they are certainly respected by their peers. They are offensive stars and can turn it on at any time. Moreover, they have experience being the number one option on a team. That said, there are certainly allowed to offer commentary on who should or shouldn’t be in the NBA. In fact, George now has his own podcast called Podcast P with Paul George. Recently, DeRozan was a guest on that show.

In this latest episode, the two got to touch on a plethora of topics. However, there was one topic that will certainly make for some viral clips. If you remember, a few weeks ago, LeBron was off the Lobos and decided to tweet an interesting thought. Essentially, James believes his son Bronny is already better than a lot of players in the NBA. LeBron said this after watching a whole slate of NBA games. Consequently, fans offered their own reactions to these comments. Although, there wasn’t a single NBA player who dared touch this topic, until now.

Paul George & DeMar DeRozan Get Honest

In the clip above, you can see Paul George and DeMar DeRozan ponder whether or not LeBron is right. Overall, they don’t actually answer this question directly. However, DeRozan was adamant that there are a lot of bad players in the NBA. For instance, he believes a lot of guys don’t actually care about the game. Furthermore, some are told they are good and then expect playing time, but never get it. With that being paid, both George and DeRozan aren’t outright dismissive of Bronny’s potential. Ultimately, it must be nice for LeBron to hear this.

Next year, Bronny will be taking his talents to USC. Subsequently, in the Spring of 2024, there is this sense that he will declare for the NBA Draft. From there, he will likely get to play with his father. This would be absolutely massive for the NBA. Although, we are still going to have to wait for this to come to fruition. For Mother’s Day, Chicago Bulls All-Star DeMar DeRozan celebrated his mother in a special tribute on The Athletic. Penned in his own words, DeRozan celebrates his mother, stating, “She showed me love and strength intertwined.”

A lot of my favorite memories come from when I sit and talk to my mom now. She talks about how she used to whup my ass when I used to just act up.

My favorite Mother’s Days came from just chilling with her. Me and mom would have moments where we’d sit on the couch and just talk s— all day on Mother’s Day. And we laugh about any and everything.

To me, those just take me back to the element of — especially before my dad passed — I remember when we didn’t have nothing. But we always used to make everything work. Whenever we can get a chance to just chill and relax, those are the moments for me that mean everything.
