Deion Sanders Calls Colorado “Hot Garbage” After Tight Win Over Arizona State

Colorado might have gotten back in the win column this weekend, but coach Deion Sanders still wasn’t happy. “Wonderful win, but we played like hot garbage and I’m trying to figure it out. I’m sick of this. We’re better than this,” Sanders said following the 27-24 win. He also alluded to the team’s reliance on his son, starting quarterback Shedeur, bailing them out of bad performances. “It’s like we’re waiting on him to put on his cape and do what he does. That’s what he does every week.” Shedeur threw for 239 yards and a touchdown. However, he also took five sacks and added another -17 rushing yards to his season total. This week, an anonymous Pac-12 coach told The Athletic they believed Sanders was intentionally taking sacks to preserve his passing stats.

Performance aside, the win elevated Colorado to 4-2 on the season and snapped an eight-game losing streak in conference play. Arizona State, who played a good game until giving up a 43-yard pass that set up Colorado’s game-winning field goal, dropped to 1-5 on the season. “Winning teams make the plays when the game is on the line and right now we’re not getting that done,” first-year head coach Kenny Dillingham said after the game. Colorado are next in action against 1-4 Stanford on October 13.

Rumors Swirl About Sanders Contract, Peach Bowl Invite

It’s been a week full of rumors and accusations in Boulder. Internally, Sanders is being reportedly linked to a “lifetime” contract at Colorado. While very little is known about these potential talks, Skip Bayless called for Sanders to get a three-year, $100M contract extension from the school. Sanders currently makes $5.5M a year on a contract that runs through 2027.

Meanwhile, the Buffs are being linked to an unprecedented bowl season move. Also reported on Undisputed, the organizers of the Peach Bowl have reportedly met with Colorado officials about having the Buffs participate in the game this year. The Peach Bowl is one of the most prestigious bowl games during bowl season and forms part of the New Year’s Six. That typically means that it features teams that were in contention for the College Football Playoff. The game has not featured an unranked team since 2011 and, outside of years when it was a CFP semifinal, has typically featured teams ranked in the top 15 of the AP poll.

Shedeur Sanders Accused Of Intentionally Taking Sacks

Meanwhile, there was another piece of drama coming out of the program this week. An anonymous Pac-12 assistant has accused Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders of taking sacks intentionally to preserve his passing stats. “I think they want to rack up some stats for Shedeur. He really holds on to the ball a long time. I think he takes sacks because he doesn’t want to affect his completion percentage,” the coach told The Athletic this week. Through five games, Sanders has been sacked 25 times for 221 lost yards. Furthermore, Sanders has -43 rushing yards on the season. “He’s playing a little different than he did earlier in the season. Before he showed that, he was willing to step up and escape through the B-gaps. Now, he’s retreating more,” the coach continued.

Sanders has been one of the best passers in college football this season. He is currently second in total yards with 1781 yards and the second-best completion percentage of QBs with more than 200 passing attempts. Sanders has attempted at least 33 passes in all five of his starts at Colorado. Furthermore, he has attempted at least 40 in four of those five games. However, Sanders took 10 sacks in his first two Pac-12 games, including seven against Oregon. Colorado has not responded to the allegations at the time of writing.

Deion Sanders Misses Radio Show, Colorado Says He’s Good To Go For Saturday

Deion Sanders briefly sparked concern among Colorado fans after he missed his weekly radio show on Thursday. Assistant coach Mark Johnson, who also represented Colorado at the Pac-12 Media Day, filled in for Sanders. “We are going without Coach Prime here today. We received notification a little while ago that (he) was a little under the weather and had a bad reaction to his immune IVs, is what I was told.” A school spokesperson later today The Denver Post that Sanders was going to be fine. However, they declined to elaborate further on the incident.

It’s not the first time that Sanders has suffered from some medical issues. He underwent surgery to remove blood clots in his legs during the offseason. That forced him to miss the aforementioned Pac-12 Media Day. At this time, there is no indication that Sanders will miss Colorado’s trip to Arizona State this weekend. The Buffs are looking to bounce back from back-to-back losses with a win over the 1-4 Sun Devils.

Buffs & Sanders Eye “Gimme” Over Arizona State

After reality checks against Oregon and USC, Colorado has a much easier game this weekend. Arizona State are 1-4, having lost every game since their opening week win over Southern Utah. There were little expectations for the Sun Devils, who will join the Big 12 next season. The team was predicted to finish 10th in the league in the preseason media poll. The team is under the guidance of first-year head coach Kenny Dillingham. Dillingham spent last season as Oregon’s offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach.

However, the Buffs will be without Travis Hunter for the game, the two-way presence they have sorely missed the past two weeks, Hunter continues to recover from the lacerated liver he suffered against Colorado State. Furthermore, he is not expected to return until Colorado’s game against UCLA on October 28. Sanders’ status is a developing story and we’ll have any updates as and when they emerge.

OJ Simpson Trolls Cam’ron For USC’s Win Over Colorado

OJ Simpson poked fun at Cam’ron in a video posted to social media on Saturday, bringing up his fandom for the Colorado Buffaloes as his USC Trojans beat the team. The Dipset rapper replied on Instagram later in the day.

“Uh, Cam’ron buddy, you okay?” the former Heisman Trophy winner asked. “Are you alright, man? I’m a little worried about you right now. Man, don’t take it too hard, okay? Come on, it’ll be alright. It’s gonna be alright buddy. Take care.” Cam shared the clip on Instagram and added: “OJ trolling me on tx? [face palm emoji & crying laughing emojis] it ain’t over yet juice!! Lol.”

Cam’ron previously traveled to Colorado to meet new head coach Deion Sanders and the rest of the team. During an episode of his sports talk show, It Is What It Is, on September 11. Cam’ron reflected on the trip. “Shoutout to Coach Prime, he laid the pink carpet out for me. Went down to Boulder, it was cr*zy. First of all, we on the field, we in the suite, chicken and waffles, steak, champagne — whatever we wanted… Really appreciate that,” he said at the time. “Then the pre-game speech the n***a went cr*zy. I was ready to grab some shoulder pads and a helmet. I was ready to go cr*zy, my n***a. I’m ready to knock a n***a head off behind this shit, man.” Check out Simpson and Cam’ron’s interaction below.

Colorado Students Told To Behave During USC Game

Colorado Athletic Director Rick George penned a letter to the student body this week as the Buffs prepare to take on #8 USC. George’s letter outlined the behavioral expectations being placed on students attending the game. “We want to remind [students] of our expectations of fan conduct during games. We expect all our fans to refrain from vulgar language, verbal or physical abuse, underage drinking, and overall intoxication. This type of conduct will not be tolerated at our home sporting events, and I have instructed our gameday staff and members of law enforcement to enhance their monitoring efforts of our fans’ conduct.

Furthermore, George asked fans to refrain from storming the field in the event Colorado wins as 21.5-point underdogs. “Although ‘rushing the field’ has long been a college football tradition, in recent years, many schools and conferences are cracking down on the practice, as it greatly jeopardizes the safety of players, coaches, staff and other fans,” the statement continued. “Rushing the field is in violation of University and Pac-12 regulations. Unfortunately, after both of our first two home games, we received an inordinate number of complaints regarding fan conduct (especially student conduct), and after both of our home game victories, students and fans ‘rushed the field.’ Such conduct is unacceptable, and I ask you to please refrain from such behavior for any future events.”

Deion Sanders Claim He Does Nothing But Respect Opposing Coaches

Meanwhile, head coach Deion Sanders has opened up about a level of disrespect he has perceived from opposing coaches. “I have an enormous amount of respect for all the other coaches. It’s just not reciprocated. Have you ever heard me say anything derogatory about a player or coach? Not even when I played I was known to be this talker. I don’t do that. Even when I played, you thought I did, but I’ve never talked to my opponents, I never [have]. I don’t believe in that, man, I just don’t. But I have a tremendous amount of respect for all of them, especially Lincoln Riley and some of these guys who have been consistently really good and have been consistent leaders; not only leading their teams to a multitude of victories, but leading these guys into the NFL. I have a tremendous amount of respect for them.”

USC, led by the aforementioned Riley, will be a tough challenge for Colorado. The Trojans have the highest-scoring offense in the country and a defense that’s only allowing 20 points a game. As mentioned, Colorado is once again one of the biggest underdogs of the week, with USC favored by 21.5. Only Charlotte, Northwestern, Nevada, and Stanford are bigger underdogs this weekend. We’ll be sure to report what goes down in the game tomorrow evening.

Deion Sanders Defends Sean Payton And The Broncos

Deion Sanders has come to the defense of Sean Payton and the ailing Denver Broncos. “Hey, leave my guy alone. Leave my guy alone. I love the Broncos. I love their coach, and Sean Payton’s my guy. He’s going to get it right, I promise you that,” Sanders told the media this week. Payton is under increasing pressure in Denver following a 0-3 start and their recent 70-20 loss to the Dolphins. Fans have already begun to call for the veteran coach’s head. Furthermore, Payton publicly refused to fire defensive co-ordinator Vance Joseph despite the 70-point drubbing this past weekend.

However, Sanders is no stranger to rough losses himself. This past weekend, the wheels came off the Colorado hype train as they were blown out of the water 42-6. While people have not called for Sanders to be fired, the glow has substantially dimmed. Fans are bracing themselves for another rough weekend as the now unranked Colorado welcome #8 USC to Folsom Field.

Stephen A. And Shannon Sharpe Debate Sanders

Meanwhile, Colorado’s first loss was a major topic for Stephen A. Smith and Shannon Sharpe on First Take this week. The pair were largely in agreement that Oregon exposed a lot of the flaws in this current Colorado squad. That led them to advise that Sanders focus on recruiting linemen for both sides of the ball. Furthermore, both of them agreed that there was nothing wrong with the trash talk that Oregon coach Dan Lanning had been laying down in the run-up to the game. Lanning had gotten so heat for some of his comments, such as stating that Colorado hadn’t brought much of note to the Pac-12. While some people saw it as haters hating, others saw it as Lanning speaking facts. Colorado will leave the Pac-12 never having won the conference title and only ever contesting it once.

However, both Smith and Sharpe believe that Colorado will be in a position to beat top teams next year. At the time of writing, Colorado has non-conference games against North Dakota State, Nebraska, and Colorado State. After that slate, they will play their first Big 12 regular season since 2010.

Skip Bayless Ripped Apart For Racially Motivated Deion Sanders Question

Skip Bayless is someone who has put his foot in his mouth on countless occassions. Overall, he is still employed by FS1 and that probably will not change, anytime soon. After all, he is one of the biggest names at the network at this point. Sure, he ran Shannon Sharpe away from the network. However, his shows still bring in at least some ratings, compared to ESPN. Unfortunately for Skip, without Sharpe, Undisputed has become a huge mess, and fans are not loving it so far.

Recently, Skip has been all in on Deion Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes. Although the team lost its game against the Oregon Ducks on Saturday, Skip is still optimistic about their future. However, during today’s show, he took to Twitter to ask fans a question about Sanders’ team. As you will see, that question was a bit wild, and people were quick to let him know that. “Is Deion’s Colorado now Black America’s Team?” Bayless asked.

Skip Bayless Poses A Question

Overall, the responses to this question probably weren’t what Skip was looking for. The Undisputed host was looking for some real answers here. However, all he was left with was people asking him if he had gone crazy. Moreover, there were some who felt like this was actually a valid question. However, coming from someone like Skip Bayless, it just felt like a complete pander. Needless to say, Bayless might have to be a bit more calculated with his questions, and how he asks them.

Fans React

Unfortunately, it is these types of questions that have made Undisputed a shell of itself lately. With Sharpe enjoying a ton of success with First Take, Bayless’ reign may just be coming to an end. Let us know your thoughts on Bayless and his question, in the comments section below. Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for more news and updates from around the sports world.

Deion Sanders Labels Blowout Loss To Oregon “A Good, Old-Fashioned Butt-Kicking”

Deion Sanders spoke candidly after his Colorado team’s 42-6 blowout loss to Oregon on Saturday. He described the game as a “good, old-fashioned butt-kicking” and made no excuses for his squad. Colorado was ranked No. 19 coming into the contest while Oregon was positioned at No. 10.

“A good, old-fashioned butt-kicking. No excuses,” Sanders said afterward, according to The Athletic‘s David Ubben. “Their coaches did a good job preparing their team. Obviously, we didn’t.” From there, he addressed his confidence in the game prior to kickoff. On that note, he added: “People around the country will say this is what they needed to humble themselves. We weren’t arrogant. We’re confident people. Our confidence offends their insecurity.”

Oregon won’t be the last test for Colorado. The team is set to take on No. 5 USC, next week, on September 30. Since taking over as head coach, Deion Sanders has brought historic excitement to the Colorado program. His son, Shedeur Sanders, is the starting quarterback for the team and has helped lead them to a 4-1 start with victories over TCU, Nebraska, and rival Colorado State. For their latest game, the team was without their star wide receiver/cornerback, Travis Hunter.

Hunter went down with a lacerated liver injury suffered during the game against Colorado State, last week. “Travis is always missed. He’s the best dern player in college football. That’s like you writing an article and your pen is missing,” Deion Sanders said of Hunter’s absence. He expects Hunter to miss three weeks with the injury. For Oregon, quarterback Bo Nix was instrumental in the victory, completing 28 of his 33 passes for a total of 276 passing yards and three touchdowns. Be on the lookout for further updates on Colorado’s season on HotNewHipHop.

Deion Sanders Freaks Out After Seeing Rat In His Office: Watch

Deion Sanders may be preparing to face the Ducks this week, but it appears that his real opponents are rats. Sanders took to social media to complain about spotting a rodent in his office in Boulder. “Something looking at me like, ‘What’s up?’ and I looked down and made eye contact…and it’s over. I’m early, really early. I come here early, but I need to wait for everybody to get in because they’re gonna have somebody come in and take these shoes and take everything out of this office because I made eye contact with a mouse. We called it a rat, but it wasn’t big enough to be a rat, but it was a mouse. I’m scared. I can’t do this. I can’t live like this. I’m in Boulder, Colorado. I cannot live like this. So help is going to be on the way today. One of us has got to go,” Sanders said in a video on social media.

Pac-12 begins this week for the Buffs with a trip to #10 Oregon. The Ducks are projected to finish fourth in the conference and even received a first-place vote in preseason media voting. However, Colorado will be Oregon’s first real test of the season as well after wins over Portland State, Texas Tech, and Hawai’i. After Oregon is a matchup against #5 USC, led by Heisman favorite Caleb Williams. Beyond that, the Buffs have four other (currently) ranked matchups in #22 UCLA, #14 Oregon State, #21 Washington State, and #11 Utah.

Sanders Invites DaBaby To Colorado

However, the Buffs should do everything they can to pick Deion over the rat after he landed a big-name recruit this week. Sanders has been exchanging social media pleasantries with DaBaby in recent days. It all began when DaBaby hit up Coach Prime while attending the Panthers’ loss to the Saints with his kids. “PRIME WE NEED YOU IN CAROLINA AFTER YOU BRING THAT CHAMPIONSHIP TO COLORADO. Hit my line coach, let’s talk. @deionsanders.” Deion responded some time later, inviting the rapper up to Boulder. “Lolololol. I’m good here. I need u here my brother. And bring the babies. Prime loves the kids.”

However, after video emerged of DaBaby showing of his skills, Sanders hit DaBaby once again. “Quick feet good release and u stacked the DB,” Sanders commented on the post. “We know you’re a Dogg so You got a offer to play At COLORADO. Let’s go Baby.”

Lil Wayne Praises Deion Sanders For His Impact On College Football

Lil Wayne gushed about his respect for Deion Sanders during a recent interview with Billboard. “I never doubt Unc. I would never doubt him. I think if you were to ask me that question before the season or even before that day I walked in there, I think I probably would have said the same thing. I would have said I could see them at 3-0. I spoke to him that night and his confidence was through the roof, past the stars and the moon.”

Furthermore, Wayne said that Sanders isn’t trying to build Black or hip-hop culture in Colorado, he’s merely working with the vibes around him. “Honestly, with Unc, this ain’t even him trying to bring hip-hop to it, it’s him just going off the vibes and the moods of the kids that he’s coaching. If they love Taylor Swift, he’ll try his hardest to get her up in there. [Laughs.] Trust me, he’s just going off the vibes. Like I said, they’ll run through walls for him because they understand that he’ll do whatever for them, as well. He’s only going to do it for the better of them.”

Nick Saban Sings Sanders’ Praises

However, Tunechi isn’t the only person hyping up Sanders right now. Alabama’s Nick Saban also spoke on Sanders during his weekly media availability. “I have a tremendous amount of respect for Deion Sanders. First, he’s a great person and he’s done a great job of marketing the program to create a lot of national interest. But I see their team playing well on the field. They play with discipline, they do a good job of executing, they’ve been able to score points, playing decent on defense. So all those things, to me, are indicators that he’s a really good coach,” Saban told reporters on Wednesday.

Furthermore, Saban noted that this was an opinion he had held prior to Sanders’ arrival in Colorado. “He’s always been successful whether it was Jackson State, high school or now in Colorado. His teams have always been well coached.” Sanders began his coaching journey at his Prime Prep Academy in Texas in 2012. He also coached at Triple A Academy and Trinity Christian Community College before landing the Jackson State job in 2020. He went 27-6 with the SWAC powerhouse.
