Deiondra Sanders is the first of two kids shared by Deion Sanders and Carolyn Chambers. Born on April 17, 1992, she is also the eldest of all the former athlete’s children. Although her parents have since separated, they both raised her lovingly together. Growing up, Deiondra traveled all over the place with her parents. While all the movement hindered her from making many friends, she acknowledged that it was a great experience regardless.

Admittedly, it’s tough to escape the shadow of a father as popular as Deion Sanders. However, Deiondra has also built a name for herself. Before they split up, Deion Sanders and Carolyn Chambers welcomed the second of their two kids on December 1, 1993. The name is not the only thing Sanders Jr. has in common with his father. Following in his father’s footsteps, Sanders Jr. picked up American football in his early years. All through high school and college, he was a star athlete, playing in the position of wide receiver. However, he transitioned into fashion after he dropped football in his Junior year in college. In 2016, he launched his streetwear fashion brand, Well Off, and has maintained it ever since. The first of their children, and Deion’s second son, Shilo, was born on February 9, 2000. Another talented sportsman, Shilo has been playing football for many years now. However, unlike his brother, he seems to be interested in seeing it through and building a career in the sport. The 23-year-old played at the University of South Carolina for two years before transferring to Jackson State University in 2020. While there, he was coached by his father and remains under his tutelage at the University of Colorado where they both currently are. Besides his blossoming sports career, Shilo has an impressive online presence and has taken on a few modeling gigs.

Subsequently, in 2021, he joined his dad and older brother Shilo at Jackson State University to play college football. Praised as an outstanding football player, the 22-year-old has also bagged brand deals left and right. Shedeur Sanders has had deals with Gatorade and Beats by Dre, among others. Deion Sanders Promises CFP Run From Colorado Next Season

Deion Sanders has boldly promised that Colorado will go from four wins to a top-12 team in the nation next season. “I want those problems, give me those problems. Leaving out a Florida State and a Georgia, that’s why I’m glad it’s increased next year, and guess who is going to be in?” Sanders said on The Dan LeBatard Show.

Next year, the CFP will expand from four teams to 12. The field will comprise the six highest-ranked conference champions plus the six highest-ranked non-champions. This means that to qualify, Colorado either needs to win the Big 12 (and maintain the Big 12’s status as a Power 5 division) or finish ranked in the top 12 at season’s end. That’s a monumental ask from a team that rarely looked competitive beyond their non-conference slate this season.

Coaches Doubt Colorado Will Turn Around Next Season

However, the odds are stacked against Sanders. Several college coaches are skeptical that things will improve for Deion Sanders and Colorado in 2024. Six coaches spoke anonymously to The Athletic. All six cast doubt on Sanders’ notion that the Buffaloes are headed in the right direction. Many of the coaches pointed to Sanders’ recruiting as a major sticking point. While Sanders did well recruiting at the skill positions, both the offensive and defensive lines were some of the worst in college football. Colorado gave up the second most sacks in the country with 56. Furthermore, as one coach noted to The Athletic, the transfer portal will contain around 30 “Power 5-caliber” offensive linemen. However, 65 Power 5 schools are vying for their commitment. Sanders did get a boost in this department, recently earning the commitment of the best OL recruit of 2024.

Furthermore, many coaches noted that Sanders has not been good to his coaches. He demoted offensive coordinator Sean Lewis after a 3-1 start because the Buffs were blown out by Oregon. Lewis has since left to become the head coach at San Diego State. The coaches who spoke with The Athletic predicted an exodus of coaching talent out of Colorado, with Sanders struggling to attract the game’s top assistants. For his part, Sanders has so far teased that former NFL star Warren Sapp will be joining his coaching staff next season. Sapp has no coaching experience at any level. However, he is the sort of headline-grabbing name Sanders has chased throughout his time at Colorado.

Deion Sanders and Tracy Edmonds have now also, unexpectedly called it quits on their relationship. As of this moment, it’s still a wonder why Sanders and Edmonds have called off their engagement after being together for over a decade. Nonetheless, as the story develops, here’s a view of the pair’s relationship timeline.

2012: Deion Sanders & Tracey Edmonds Meet

Deion Sanders and Tracey Edmonds, now both 56 years old, are accomplished veterans in their respective fields of sports and entertainment. Sanders, a former NFL player and head coach at the University Of Colorado Boulder, and Edmonds, a prominent executive producer in Hollywood. Their paths were unlikely to cross very often though but the overlap of sports and entertainment allowed them to frequent similar circles. In early 2012, Sanders attended the premiere of a movie Edmonds had produced. During the event, they got acquainted with each other, and that unlikely meeting was the catalyst of their eventual romance. Before the event ended that night, Sanders got a hold of Edmonds’ business card. Soon after, he reached out to her.

When Deion Sanders asked for Edmonds’ business card, it’s unclear if he did so already knowing he liked her. What is clear, however, is that he intended to have her work on a show he had an idea for. The two eventually met up to have breakfast and discuss Sanders’ ideas for the show that would end up becoming Deion’s Family Playbook. Subsequently, in 2021, Edmonds shared with PEOPLE, “I started off thinking I was just going to produce [the show]. But as I started working with Deion on the show, we grew quite fond of each other and ended up dating.”

2014 – 2015: Deion’s Family Playbook

The reality TV show aired on the Oprah Winfrey Network for three seasons from March 2014 to May 2015. While it was primarily focused on Deion Sanders, Tracey Edmonds also starred in the show. She had become an important part of Sanders’ life at the time, so it was only natural for her to appear in it. Audiences got to see glimpses of the couple’s relationship throughout the show’s three seasons. In addition to starring in Deion’s Family Playbook, Edmonds and Sanders are both credited as executive producers on the show.

Without a doubt, this is one of the most surprising breakups of the year as there were no signs of turmoil in the pair’s relationship. Next season, Colorado joins the Big 12. Alongside them comes Utah, Arizona, and Arizona State. All three schools either beat Colorado or lost by less than a score this season. Traditional Big 12 powerhouses Texas and Oklahoma will be gone. However, Colorado is by no means expected to suddenly become a title contender. Nine of the conference’s teams finished with a better record than Colorado this year. So did all three of the other Pac-12 teams also moving to the conference.

Shedeur Sanders is expected to return under center for the Buffs, but is that really the right move? Sanders missed the final game of the Buffs due to a back fracture. With no real improvement on the offensive line expected, Sanders can expect to take another pummelling behind the line next season. Not only will that affect his draft stock, but it could also impact his innate ability to play. However, the “Deion Doubters” will have to wait until commitment days, the portal, and the 2024 season itself to see if Sanders sinks or floats in Year 2.
