Daniel Caesar Is Smitten Over A Woman Named ‘Valentina’ On His New Single

We are just a week out from Daniel Caesar‘s upcoming third studio album, Never Enough. Ahead of the much-anticipated project, Caesar has shared a romantic new single called “Valentina.”

On “Valentina,” Caesar longs for a beautiful woman, and although she is already spoken for, he just can’t seem to let go of the thought of her.

The song opens with simple chords, before the percussion kicks in, and Caesar loops us in with a moody key change.

“Valentina, baby / I only need one moment of time / To make you feel a way / From the first time I looked in your eyes / I knew that I would find a way / To make you mine,” he sings on the song’s chorus.

Though Caesar has kept the details of Never Enough iron-clad, he revealed last year in an interview with Complex that given his introverted nature, and the fact that much of the album was conceived during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, the album will most put his emotions on display, as he keeps vocal collaborators to a minimum.

“I’m not much of a ‘go outside and be social’ type of person and that was before the quarantine,” said Caesar. “So working on the album post-quarantine, you’re not really interacting with anybody else.”

Daniel Caesar’s ‘Never Enough’: Everything To Know Including The Release Date, Tracklist, And More

With two singles already under his belt, namely “Let Me Go” and “Do You Like Me,” Daniel Caesar is officially ready for the release of his third studio album. Titled Never Enough, it’s slated to thrust the songwriter back to the forefront of alternative R&B music. Although his last work, Case Study 01, didn’t have much staying power, the Toronto native is looking to change that with his latest.

Below is everything you need to learn about the album, including its release date, tracklist, features, tour dates, and more.

Features

At this time, it is unclear if the album will contain any guest features. Based on Caesar’s past releases, he may every so often slip in another vocalist into the mix, but for the most part he’s opted to highlight his own unique voice.

Artwork

Keeping in line with his cryptic nature, the album’s official artwork is a story within itself. What the cover is trying to tell us is not as clear without having listened to the album. However, thanks to Caesar’s latest Instagram caption, which reads, “I’m sensing a theme throughout my album covers,” viewers can guess the image emphasizes the singer’s desire to hide from the public eye. In the grainy blue overcast image, Caeser is seen in full sprint with his back towards the photographer.

Caesar’s past albums — namely, Praise Break in 2014, Pilgrim’s Paradise in 2015, Freudian in 2017, and Case Study 01 in 2019 — all capture the singer in his current state of mind. So, Never Enough, as Caesar shared on Instagram, may do the same.

Singles

So far, Caesar has released two singles from the album, “Let Me Go” and “Do You Like Me?” Fans were surprised to find out that his previously released 2022 single, “Horsepower,” did not make the album’s final tracklist.

Tour Dates

Caesar hasn’t announced a full tour as of yet. However, beginning in April, he’ll embark on a few spot dates for the Almost Enough: The Intimate Sessions performance stops. Pre-sale for the tour will begin on Thursday, March 23 at 10 am local time. General tickets go on-sale Friday, March 25 at 10 am local. For more information, click here.

Daniel Caesar Unveils The Official Tracklist For His Third Album, ‘Never Enough’

Daniel Caesar’s new album, Never Enough, is due soon, and the Canadian singer-songwriter raised interest today with the release of the album’s tracklist. Consisting of 15 tracks, Never Enough includes both previously released singles, “Do You Like Me?” and “Let Me Go,” along with tracks with witty titles like “Buyer’s Remorse” and “Homiesexual.”

The album will be Caesar’s first since 2019’s Case Study 01, which was well-received critically, but underperformed commercially — likely a result of its abbreviated rollout. It’s possible that album’s reception was also hurt by Caesar’s misstep during a livestream with Dave Chappelle and John Mayer. An inebriated Caesar challenged fans to “cancel” him for defending controversial event promoter YesJulz — a challenge it seemed many gladly took up with regard to his next album.

However, a few strategic features later, Caesar’s fortunes appear to be back on the upswing. In 2021, Caesar was one of the guest singers on Justin Bieber’s hit single “Peaches,” which also featured rising Long Beach singer Giveon, giving him a launching pad for the next phase of his career. Never Enough could very well be the bounce-back Daniel Caesar needs; we’ll all find out when the album drops on April 7 via Republic. For now, check out the tracklist below.

1. “Ocho Rios”
2. “Valentina”
3. “Toronto 2014”
4. “Let Me Go”
5. “Do You Like Me?”
6. “Always”
7. “Cool”
8. “Disillusioned”
9. “Buyer’s Remorse”
10. “Shot My Baby”
11. “Pain Is Inevitable”
12. “Homiesexual”
13. “Vince Van Gogh”
14. “Superpowers”
15. “Unstoppable”

Daniel Caesar’s Powerful New ‘Let Me Go’ Video Is A Cathartic Experience

Daniel Caesar is set to unveil his highly anticipated new album Never Enough next month. So far, he’s shared the seductive single “Do You Like Me?” alongside an impassioned music video, as well as the pained track “Let Me Go,” which is now also getting its own visual accompaniment.

To go with the melancholy song, the video shows Caesar running through a beautiful, surreal field, continuing through the day and night. It’s at once a serene and cathartic sight, which goes perfectly with the subtly powerful ballad. It looks particularly captivating during the breathtaking sunset.

The Canadian artist also recently released a trailer for Never Enough, set in what looks like the same striking landscape where this music video takes place, emphasizing nature as an important element of this new LP. An unreleased song plays in the background of the trailer as he swings upside down from a tree: “In the nick of time, that’s when you appear / Girl I was lost until you found me here / My head was low,” he sings. The Youtube caption mysteriously reads: “Blue again… But not for long.”

Everything We Know About Daniel Caesar’s ‘NEVER ENOUGH’ Album

Rising star Daniel Caesar is a singer and songwriter from Toronto, Canada. He has certainly made a priority to share his music with the world and is well-known among many, though he is still growing as a professional artist. The 27-year-old has already released two critically acclaimed albums, both Grammy-nominated. His 2017 hit song “Best Part” with H.E.R. helped him significantly in his launch to fame, winning the Grammy Award for Best R&B Performance. With inspirations such as Frank Ocean, Jim Morrison and Beyoncé, it is inevitable that Caesar will soon be known as one of the biggest names in the R&B industry.

Artist Background

Daniel Caesar, born as Ashton Dumar Norwill Simmonds, had a rough upbringing which fortunately led him to his career in music. He was raised attending church and listening to soul and gospel. His parents were protective over all other kinds of music and the troubles that the big city might throw at him. When he was only 17 years old, his father had kicked him out of the house after a heated fight. It was then that Caesar was officially on his own to fend for himself. He later decided that it was his calling to pursue his dream of becoming a musician. He released his debut EP Praise Break short after in 2014.

Caesar’s first ever release landed on Rolling Stone’s “20 Best R&B Albums of 2014”, kickstarting his career almost immediately. Things began moving fast, as he quickly released his second EP the following year which contained many hits at the time. His next two albums were then nominated for Grammy awards. He was soon to be featured on Justin Bieber‘s hit track “Peaches”.

Album Announcement

On January 24, 2023, Daniel Caesar posted the anticipated album’s first teaser on Instagram. The post featured an ominous video of a photograph being burned, with text at the end reading “DO YOU LIKE ME?”. The caption on the post merely wrote “Are you ready?”. Fans went ballistic attempting to guess what it all meant.

Soon after, on February 1st he released the music video for “Do You Like Me”. This song is predicted to be featured on the album. Later that month the merch for the album was released. The artist officially announced that ‘NEVER ENOUGH’ would be released on April 7, 2023.

Daniel Caesar has recently released two highly admired singles including “Do You Like Me” and “Let Me Go”. It is appropriate to predict that these tracks have set the scene for the new album and will resemble a similar sound. He is known for his unique approach to his music. He creates songs that effortlessly combine his smooth and soulful tenor with lyrics that fans can connect with. The two recent singles provide fans with a newer sound from Caesar, using a more laid-back energy with vulnerable lyrics.

Predicted Tracklist

Due to recent releases, teasers, and fan predictions, there are already a few songs that have been speculated to be on the new album. The following list of potential tracks is according to Genius Lyrics.

  • Do You Like Me?
  • Let Me Go
  • Brutus Embarks (Unreleased)
  • sometimes i’m sad but that’s alright (Unreleased)
  • Take It (Unreleased)
  • Naive (Unreleased)

As has already been discussed, the first two tracks mentioned have already been released as singles. It has been clearly hinted that these will be major features of the new album ‘NEVER ENOUGH’.

Brutus Embarks (Ocho Ríos) has only been released as a snippet of a song as of now. Not to mention that it was released quite mysteriously. It was the first tease of the musician’s next chapter in his career. Initially, it was posted slyly as a cryptic note on his artist website. It was later released on YouTube in December of 2022.

The rest of these songs remain a mystery. However, fans have picked out subtle hints from all over social media that have made some people certain that each and every one of these songs will be featured on ‘Never Enough’. As the release date quickly approaches, it would not be unlike Caesar to continue tossing small easter eggs and teasers of tracks that may also appear on the new album. Only time will tell.

Daniel Caesar Announces Release Date For Upcoming Album “Never Enough”

Earlier this month, Daniel Caesar announced his long-awaited third studio album, Never Enough. Having teased the project since its initial confirmation, Caesar finally took to Instagram today (February 28) to reveal the drop date. The post, which highlighted April 7th, 2023 as the day when Never Enough will be streamable, was accompanied by the caption, “ready?” Having been spotty with releases since his 2019 album, Case Study 01, fans of the 27-year-old immediately flooded his comment section in anticipation of this upcoming 15-track work.

As part of the promotion for Never Enough, Caesar gave fans a taste of what he’s been brewing up in the studio recently with the releases of Do You Like Me? and Let Me Go. The former dropped first on January 27th, and depicts what the singer describes as the “90 degrees of a love triangle.” He explained the inspiration for the soft ballad further on Instagram, writing “[it’s] a song about a woman I respect deeply.” His second teaser song, which dropped on February 10th, carries a slightly more upbeat tone while still maintaining Caesar’s vulnerable and romantic essence.

Caesar’s “Never Enough” Drops On April 7th

Just from the two-song preview, Never Enough seems to still boast Caesar’s distinguishable style, but with a continuation of experimentation and added flare. In a 2022 interview with HypeBeast, the Canadian reflected on the shifts in his musical influences and genre tastes. “I’m kind of dipping into all the other influences, all of the music that I listened to growing up,” he told the publication. “I’ve always tried to take all my influences and put them in a pot and stir them up and see what happens.” Ultimately, Caesar noted his distaste for being labeled.

As the release of his first studio project with Republic Records remains more than five weeks away, Caesar continues to promote Never Enough on his socials with the album’s royal blue branding. Excited fans have expressed their anticipation for the upcoming release in his comments section. In response to his initial question, one user answered, “u know damn well we are ready.” Be sure to keep up with HNHH for more news on the release of Never Enough.

When Does Daniel Caesar’s New Album Come Out?

Singer-songwriter Daniel Caesar is holding nothing back when it comes to his forthcoming album. Today (February 15), the musician officially confirmed after the release of several songs, including “Please Do Not Lean” featuring Badbadnotgood, “Let Me Go,” and “Do You Like Me?,” he is gearing up to drop his third studio album.

In a cryptic teaser video shared on YouTube, captioned, “Blue again… But not for long,” Caesar shares the name of the upcoming 15-track project is, appropriately titled, Never Enough, and it’s slated to drop on April 7.

The titling could be related to the pushback he’s received following a grossly inappropriate comment he made about the Black community back in 2019. Although he has since attempted to apologize, many of his Black supporters have refused to support his work any further.

While Caesar’s music is nearly always centered around romantic love, in the trailer for the album, Caesar is seen hanging upside down as his fingers tips ever so lightly brush across the blades of grass, barely missing a ladybug seeking refugee. His music unreleased music plays in the background, “In the nick of time, that’s when you appear / Girl I was lost until you found me here / My head was low,” Caesar sings. Clearly, as a metaphor for the scrutiny, he’s faced over the years and a few other Black Twitter jokes such as “touch grass.”

Daniel Caesar Shares A Mysterious Trailer For His Upcoming Third Album, ‘Never Enough’

After dropping a pair of fire singles — the vulnerable “Do You Like Me?” and the brutal “Let Me Go” — Daniel Caesar has finally announced his third studio album. His new effort, Never Enough, is set to drop this spring.

Ahead of Never Enough, Caesar has dropped a trailer for the upcoming album. The trailer sees Caesar swinging upside down from a tree. A woman is then seen standing opposite him, as the trailer fades to his logo.

New music can be heard in the trailer as well. On the song, which seems to come from the album, Caesar sings, over a brooding, minimalistic beat, “In the nick of time, that’s when you appear / Girl I was lost, until you found me here / My head was low.”

In an interview with Complex last year, Caesar revealed that while this album isn’t collaboration-heavy, however, working with producer Dylan Wiggins has been an inspiration to his craft.

“If I wasn’t excited about music before — like if I had started to wane in my love for the artform — he definitely has re-inspired me and made me excited about things,” Caesar said.
