Beyoncé And Post Malone’s Song ‘Levii’s Jeans’ Reportedly Boosted Levi Strauss’ Stock Value By 20 Percent

Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter is the gift that keeps on giving. The project has set a new streaming record in country music and amplified the work of Black musicians in the genre (including Linda Martell, Shaboozey, and Tanner Adell, to name a few).

Now, according to CBS News, the album’s impact can even be traced back to the stock market. On April 5, the outlet reported that “Levii’s Jeans,” a collaborative track with Beyoncé and Post Malone, boosted Levi Strauss’ stock value.

As the pair sang about their love for the brand’s tried and true denim, financial analysts connected it to a 20% increase in Levi’s overall public value. In a statement, the company’s CEO, Michelle Gass, shared her excitement for the peak in consumers’ interest. “I would just say that denim is having a moment, and the Levi’s brand is having a powerful moment around the world,” she said.

Gass also addressed the report that Beyoncé aided in the uptick in sales. “One of the things that really is significant about the Levi’s brand,” she said. “We also place a lot of emphasis and investment in making sure that Levi’s brand remains at the center of culture. And I don’t think there’s any better evidence or proof point than having someone like Beyoncé, who is a culture shaper, actually name a song after us.”

First, Uber and Lyft were fighting to offer the Beyhive a better promo code. Now, Levi has entered the mix. Maybe apartment management companies or mortgage lenders will take note.

Beyonce’s Version Of “BLACKBIIRD” Praised By Paul McCartney

Last month, Beyonce released her highly anticipated new album COWBOY CARTER. The record featured her indulging in the sounds of country music. But it also dabbled in numerous other sounds throughout the length of its bulky tracklist. The album features covers and interpolations from artists like Dolly Parton, The Beach Boys, Chuck Berry, and even The Beatles. Now, a former Beatle has come out with praise of her version of their song. The Beatles’ song “Blackbird” appears on the legendary group’s 1968 White Album and was written and performed by Paul McCartney.

Part of the song was inspired by the civil rights movement and social unrest in the United States, so it made a lot of sense of Bey to try her hand at the song. Now McCartney has come out with some massive praise for her version. He shared a picture to Instagram with a caption elaborating on his feelings. “I am so happy with @beyonce’s version of my song ‘Blackbird’, I think she does a magnificent version of it and it reinforces the civil rights message that inspired me to write the song in the first place. I think Beyoncé has done a fab version and would urge anyone who has not heard it yet to check it out. You are going to love it!” check out his full post below.

Paul McCartney Praises Beyonce’s “Blackbird”

McCartney is hardly the only one praising Beyonce right now. Earlier this week she took home an innovator award during the iHeartRadio Music Awards. Michelle Obama also took to Twitter to post an entire thread of praise for COWBOY CARTER.

Not everybody has been completely in love with the record though. Pop singer Lily Allen expressed her issues with some elements of the record and its rollout on a recent episode of her podcast. What do you think of Paul McCartney’s high praise for Beyonce’s cover of “Blackbird?” Do you think it’s the best cover on COWBOY CARTER? Let us know in the comment section below.

Lily Allen Calls Beyonce’s “Jolene” Cover “Weird”

Last week, Beyonce unleashed her new album COWBOY CARTER. The project saw her shifting her style in a country music direction and receiving massive acclaim from critics for doing so. But critics weren’t the only ones to come out in support of the project. Many of Bey’s fellow musicians and celebrities have taken the opportunity to praise the record. Michelle Obama posted an entire Twitter thread showing love for the record. Earlier this week Bey received a special innovator award during the iHeartRadio Music Awards.

But not everyone is as big of a fan of COWBOY CARTER. During a recent episode of her podcast pop singer Lily Allen had some less than stellar things to say about the album and one song in particular. She criticized the rollout of the record as being over-planned and even cited Jay-Z’s viral Grammys speech as a reason. In particular, she took issue with Bey’s cover of “JOLENE” by Dolly Parton. “I just feel like it’s quite an interesting thing to do when you’re like trying to tackle a new genre and you just choose the biggest song in that genre to cover. I mean, you do you, Beyoncé, and she literally is doing her. Or is she doing Dolly?” Allen said on her show. Check out the full podcast episode where they discuss the album below.

The track is expected to climb as high as number two on the Hot 100 next week.

Paul McCartney Explains How Beyoncé’s ‘Blackbird’ Cover ‘Reinforces The Civil Rights Message’ That Inspired The Original Song

Beyoncé dropped her new album Cowboy Carter a few days ago. On it, she put her own spin on The Beatles’ 1968 track “Blackbird.”

Now, Paul McCartney, who approved her to use the original backing track in her cover, posted a sweet message about Bey to Instagram.

“I am so happy with @beyonce’s version of my song ‘Blackbird,’” he wrote. “I think she does a magnificent version of it, and it reinforces the civil rights message that inspired me to write the song in the first place. I think Beyoncé has done a fab version and would urge anyone who has not heard it yet to check it out. You are going to love it!”

Later in the caption, McCartney also provided some insight into the discussions he had with Beyoncé about covering the song he wrote decades ago.

“I spoke to her on FaceTime and she thanked me for writing it and letting her do it,” he added. “I told her the pleasure was all mine and I thought she had done a killer version of the song. When I saw the footage on the television in the early 60s of the black girls being turned away from school, I found it shocking and I can’t believe that still in these days there are places where this kind of thing is happening right now. Anything my song and Beyoncé’s fabulous version can do to ease racial tension would be a great thing and makes me very proud.”

Beyoncé Gives ‘Texas Hold ‘Em’ A Whole New Verse On Her ‘Pony Up’ Remix Of The Song

“Texas Hold ‘Em” is Beyoncé’s latest No. 1 hit, and while the Cowboy Carter favorite is still going strong, Bey just breathed new life into it with the “Pony Up” remix released today, April 4.

The remix adds a newfound New Orleans bounce influence, which can be most evidently heard in the song’s new verse. Beyoncé sings in the new verse (according to Genius):

“Woke up this mornin’, my heart keeps racin’ (Woo)
Straight to the bottom, we all need salvation (Come take it to the floor now, ooh)
Need you to end this drought, take me downtown
Gon’ leave the truck, whiskey, baby
Let’s get weak and (Weak and) wasted
Might as well just throw it all (Woo-woo)
And pony up, b*tch, don’t hold back on me
It’s a rodeo, we gon’ dosido (Hey)
Broke me in and then you take me home, huh
Give me all of your love, all of your sins
All of your f*cks, pony up
Up to you, but it’s boots on the ground
Sippin’ on a Tennessee, spinnin’ me around
I just see you with a whiskey
I’m drinkin’ straight, baby, all day
It’s a hell of a life
Baby, I just might
Throw a party for the whole damn town
Chasin’ my sins away with brown, oh, oh, brown, oh, oh
I’ma need another round, round, round, round
One for me, one for my lover.”

Beyonce Thanks Jack White For Inspiring “Cowboy Carter” With A Floral Gift

Beyonce’s new album COWBOY CARTER is a divergence into country music. Many fans were surprised she found inspiration in the genre, but the resulting album has received positive reviews from fans and critics alike. While she’s cited a variety of influences, some of whom even appear on the album, we got another reveal earlier this week. That came when one of her more surprising points of inspiration shared a gift she sent on Instagram.

That post came from Jack White, who has decades of influence in rock music with his bands The White Stripes, The Raconteurs, The Dead Weather, and his own solo material. White and Beyonce have actually worked together before. The pair teamed up for the beloved Lemonade deep cut “Don’t Hurt Yourself.” While he doesn’t appear to have directly worked on COWBOY CARTER, he was clearly an influence. He took to Instagram to show off a floral arrangement Bey sent him. “Jack, I hope you are well. I just wanted you to know how much you inspired me on this record,” a hand-written note attached to the flowers reads. Check out the present White received below.

Beyonce Thanks Jack White For Inspiring COWBOY CARTER

For fans of Jack White it isn’t actually that much of a surprise that he inspired the record. White has long been a fan of country music, signing and reissuing country artists with his Nashville based Third Man Records. His band The White Stripes also played a cover of Dolly Parton’s classic tune “JOLENE” which also appears on COWBOY CARTER. He also served as producer on country singer Loretta Lynn’s 2004 comeback album Van Lear Rose.

Unsurprisingly, early projections for COWBOY CARTER claim the album is due to shoot directly to the top of the charts. It’s expected to hit number one on the Billboard 200. The lead single “TEXAS HOLD EM” could also return to the number one spot on the Hot 100. What do you think of Jack White being an influence over COWBOY CARTER? Who else do you think Beyonce may have been inspired by while working on her new country album? Let us know in the comment section below.

Beyoncé Wears Versace Leather ‘Cowboy Carter’ Fit At iHeart Music Awards

Beyoncé wasn’t playing when it came to her drip at Monday’s iHeart Music Awards 2024. She wore a Versace all-leather Cowboy Carter-themed fit as she was on hand to receive the Innovator Award. Presenter Stevie Wonder gave the Renaissance diva the award, and she came on the stage wearing nothing short of a country chic outfit with vintage black leather.

As Page Six reported, the Italian “fashion house’s iconic gold Medusa-logo hardware, cinched with a duo of blingy belts and finished with a cowboy hat.” Check out the pics below. The jackets had fringe trimming, and the matching pants were laced with studs.

Beyoncé didn’t stop there, as she was iced out. Page Six reports that her gear was topped off with double-row earrings from Zydo diamonds ($167,600) and a ring that costs around $19,000.

Act II: Cowboy Carter has been out since this past weekend, but Beyoncé has been rocking the cowboy look since early February around the Grammys, where she had a cowboy hat and Louis Vuitton to fit the occasion.

What do you think of her look? Should she keep it for a while, or nah?
