Rick Pitino has made his so-called triumphant return to a well-known program in college basketball. Pitino was exiled from the University of Louisville after a slew of accusations were brought up against the program. In the end, Louisville had to take down their 2013 National Championship banner, and Pitino was seen as a black eye to college basketball. However, the Hall of Fame coach got a second chance. After a short stint at Iona, Pitino was offered the head coaching position with St. John’s. An offer that Pitino happily accepted.

Now Ricky P is back on the scene in the Big Apple. Pitino is looking to bring St. John’s back to the limelight. If any coach could pull off this challenge, it’s going to be Pitino. On Sunday, Pitino was among the many in Madison Square Garden taking in the Knicks and Cavaliers playoff matchup. Before the tip, ESPN locked in on Pitino speaking to someone courtside. However, it turns out that the shot of Pitino might have been too clear. Fans discovered that Pitino was giving his cell phone number to someone at the game. On Monday, Pitino announced on Twitter that his phone number had been compromised. “So yesterday I was enjoying the Knicks game n someone read my lips on TV giving out my phone number. Over 300 plus messages came in – here’s the bizarre news, 95% were nice n positive. I got a lead on 7 new recruits. My new cell is…..” How someone could figure out what Pitino was talking about is nearly laughable. However, for Pitino, it may not seem to be so funny. However, Pitino seems to be in good spirits about the whole ordeal.

The Knicks lit up the MSG crowd with their Game 4 victory. Now the Knicks will look to end the series on Friday at the Garden. However, Pitino may have been there just to scout out his future home. St. John’s will play many of their home games at the Garden. The combination of Pitino and New York has many believing the possibilities are endless for his return to the big show. Mikey Williams Booked On Five Counts Of Assault

Mikey Williams, the Memphis Tigers prized recruit, has landed in hot water. On Thursday, the four-star recruit was booked on five counts of assault with a deadly weapon. Williams resides in California, where each charge could carry a six-month jail sentence. The future Memphis guard had many suitors lining up to sign him for his basketball talents. However, now it seems that Williams’ future on the court will take a backseat to these legal issues.

It’s always tough to see news like this involving a young kid. The San Ysidro basketball star was on the verge of a life-changing moment. As Williams was just mere months from the beginning of what would have undoubtedly have been an exciting college career. However, this doesn’t mean Williams still won’t be attending Memphis. But it will for sure put a wrench in his potential availability for the upcoming season. No comment has been publicly made on the behalf of Williams and his family. As the situation is still ongoing.

According to 24/7 Sports, Williams has been considered on the line of a four to five-star talent. Williams is ranked as the 17th-best recruit in the 2023 class. Also, the highest-rated recruit Memphis signed for the upcoming season. Williams had also received offers from Arizona State, Kansas, Arkansas, and Alabama State. However, the high school guard landed on taking his talents to Memphis with head coach Penny Hardaway. The Memphis basketball program has yet to release a public statement on the situation.

Scouting insider Eric Bossi had this to say on the talents of Mikey Williams, “A strong and compact combo guard, Williams is an offensive minded player who understands how to use his athleticism and burst off of the dribble. He is a good ball handler with wiggle off the dribble who finds and exploits cracks in the defense to get to the rim and finish or draw fouls.” The situation is truly tragic for all involved. Drake Placed Massive Bets On UConn To Win The National Championship, But Lost Thousands Despite Their Victory

March Madness spilled over into April a little bit, but now, it’s over. Yesterday (April 3), the UConn Huskies took on the San Diego State Aztecs in the national championship game and won 76-59. This is all despite the “Drake Curse,” since the rapper bet on UConn to emerge as this year’s men’s college basketball champions. Despite betting on the winning team, though, Drake still lost a few thousand dollars.

Before yesterday’s game, Drake revealed two bets he placed on the game. One bet was for UConn to win by between 6 and 10 points. He bet $250,000 for the chance to win $1.085 million. His other bet was for UConn to win by at least 11 points. On that one, he wagered $100,000 for the opportunity to take home $230,000.

Well, UConn won by 17 points, meaning Drake lost $250,000 on the first bet and won $230,000 on the second, ultimately resulting in a loss of $20,000 between the bets.

Although the curse didn’t prevail this time, when college basketball fans caught wind of Drake’s wagers before tipoff, they couldn’t help but make jokes about UConn’s inevitable-seeming loss, SD State’s gratitude for Drake’s bet, and so on.

Drake has actually had a good track record recently, though, as he correctly picked the winners of the most recent World Cup and Super Bowl.

Louisiana’s Own Boosie Had Some Caitlin Clark Trash Talk After LSU Beat Iowa: ‘Larry Bird, Come Get Your Daughter’

The 2023 NCAA Women’s National Championship game went down yesterday (April 2), and despite Iowa’s Caitlin Clark delivering a series of star-making performances throughout the tournament, it was Angel Reese and LSU who came out ahead in the ultimate contest, winning 102 to 85.

Louisiana native Boosie Badazz was pretty excited about the whole thing, even coming through with some trash talk directed at Clark. In one clip he shared on social media, the rapper repeats, “Larry Bird, come get your daughter!” In another video, he calls LSU’s Jasmine Carson “LSU Ice Spice” due to her Ice Spice-like hair.

Elsewhere, Boosie, mirroring the tradition carried out by the championship-winning team, cut down the net on a hoop at his own house.

LSU previously showed love to Boosie by celebrating with his music in the locker room after clinching a spot in the championship game.

Meanwhile, Boosie recently spoke about Jay-Z’s relevance, saying, “When I go to these clubs in Atlanta — these 25-to-35 clubs — I’m not hearing Nas, I’m not hearing Jay-Z. Every club I go in, it’s not one or the other… Jay-Z is respected by these people for being the boss that he is. When Jay-Z flashes across that muthaf*cka, it’s somethin’ with a billion dollars; it’s somethin’ with 500 billion, 200 billion when them young n****s see him. Ian Eagle Did His Best Megan Thee Stallion Impression While Texas Southern Played In The NCAA Tournament

For the fifth time in eight years, Texas Southern won the SWAC and qualified for the NCAA Tournament. Still, as a lesser-known school, participating in March Madness means that the university gets a spotlight on a national stage, something that is always really cool, even if the Tigers have danced a few times over the years.

This usually means that schools get a few fun “Do You Know?” segments at one point or another when they play. For the HBCU out of Houston that took on Michigan on Saturday afternoon, this included a pair of their most famous alums getting shouts: Former NFL player and current television personality Michael Strahan, and Grammy Award-winning rapper Megan Thee Stallion.

Ian Eagle was tasked with reading this, and because he is Ian Eagle, he decided to have a little fun with this. When Megan’s name came up, Eagle joked that she passed along a message to the team and proceeded to do an impression that was less than stellar.

Eagle is a pro, and he’ll do a few silly things whenever he’s calling a game in any sport, but I’ll level with you: I did not anticipate him doing any part of “Body.” Just call him Ian Thee Eagle.
