Coi Leray Fires Back At Haters Over “COI” Album Streams

Coi Leray fired back at her haters on Twitter, Wednesday, sharing a list of the top-streaming albums of 2023 so far on Spotify. Her latest project, COI, ranked eighth on the list, despite trolls making fun of its reported low sales figures.

“This why idgaf wat nun of y’all haten ass weirdos have to say about me,” she wrote. “Fuck a validation! I ain’t NEVER gonna stop having fun with this shit. Ever. Thanks to all my supporters. Amazing albums.” Despite the streams, fans still trolled Leray in response. One wrote: “Girl it has those streams because of david guetta and that tiktok hit.” “Ice spice outsold… and it’s an EP,” another replied.

When COI initially dropped, early reports suggested it only managed to earn 10,000 in album sales for its first week. Despite the rough figure, Leray remained positive on social media. “Grateful to have an album on the Top 200 for [the] first week of my album release, again,” she wrote on Twitter at the time. “This time with three hits on the Hot 100… Woah. I’m super proud of myself. Bigger and better year every time. Keep streaming #COI. It’s an AMAZING project.”

Coi Leray Shares Streaming Numbers On Twitter

As for new music from the rapper, Leray confirmed that she’s working on a new EP on Instagram, Tuesday. “Blue Moon EP loading 6 songs,” she captioned the post while adding several emojis. The EP will follow the success of her recent collaboration with David Guetta and Anne-Marie for the track, “Baby Don’t Hurt Me.” The song stayed on the Hot 100 for months and racked up 200 million streams on Spotify. Her song, “Players,” also made waves earlier this year. Leray hasn’t shared any further details on her upcoming EP, but be on the lookout for more updates on HotNewHipHop.

Coi Leray Pumps Up The Jock Jams With Soccer Star Trinity Rodman In Her Sporty ‘Get Loud’ Video

Coi Leray’s extended rollout for her second album, Coi, has included a string of singles including “Players,” “Bops,” “My Body,” and “Run It Up.” Now that the album is out, she’s keeping the party going with the video for “Get Loud.” The song is a bit of a poppy jock jam, and fittingly, the video takes place in a locker room, where Coi and her soccer team — which includes USWNT forward Trinity Rodman — turn up.

It’s fitting that Coi teamed up with another women’s athlete after collaborating with the WNBA on a new campaign featuring her song “Players.” It seems that the star really is all about sisterhood and solidarity, as she previously suggested with her idea to remake Lil Kim’s classic “Not Tonight” remix, “Ladies Night.” She reiterated the sentiment in an interview with Ebro Darden for Apple Music after Ebro asked her about her short-lived flap with Latto over “Put It On Da Floor.”

“My advice to the girls out there is moving forward, find a better way,” she said. “Rap beef is for the guys — and I don’t even think they should do it.”

Coi Leray Drops New Album, “COI”

Coi Leray has been readying the release of her second album, COI. The new drop follows an extensive rollout that included the release of several well-received singles and surprising collaborations. There was even a brief feud with Latto. COI serves as the follow-up to her 2022 album, Trendsetter. That album received moderate critical acclaim despite not meeting commercial expectations. However, given the past year’s events, Coi is poised to receive a much better reception than its predecessor.

Coi Leray has achieved an impressive collection of Gold and Platinum records. She has also established partnerships with brands like the WNBA and advocated for greater unity among women in the hip-hop industry. Furthermore, Leray has become a highly sought-after featured artist. Her contribution to the latest Spider-Man soundtrack gained viral attention. She also managed to deliver impressive performances that have enhanced her reputation among fans. All these achievements have set the stage for Coi Leray’s new album to be the breakthrough hit she has been working towards throughout her career. Will it live up to the expectations?

Coi Leray Lets Us Know Who She Is On Her Self-Titled Effort

Coi Leray has been slowly but surely making her mark on the rap industry. With the release of COI, she hopes to showcase her longevity. Following her debut LP Trendsetter, this new project features 16 tracks that are both catchy and engaging. The new album includes guest features from fellow rappers Saucy Santana, Lola Brooke, and grime artist Giggs. Recently, Coi Leray released her single “Bops,” which would be an apt title for the entire album. Fans of her previous effort will no doubt enjoy it.

In a May 2023 interview with XXL, Coi Leray expressed her increased confidence in herself and her music. This came with the release of her second album. She affirmed that she and her label now recognize her undeniable talent. They also believe in her ability to excel in the music industry. Coi Leray also said that she thinks that her music is timeless and has a global appeal. That has further solidified her belief in her artistic abilities. Coi Leray Challenges Men To ‘Run It Up’ On Her Steamy New Single

Just a week out from her sophomore album, Coi, Coi Leray is keeping the anticipation high. Tonight (June 16), she has shared “Run It Up,” a spicy new anthem from the album.

On “Run It Up,” Leray is in full control as she lays down the laws of the bedroom. She is making it known what she wants and setting her expectations high, challenging prospective men to run it up.

“Run it up, run it up, run it up, run it up, run it up, run it up, ooooh / I’m an angel in the day and a demon in the night / Don’t go thinkin’ about it ’cause you might lose your mind / Drop the top in the winter ’cause my heart cold like ice,” she rap-sings on the song’s chorus.

It’s been quite a breakout year for Leray, who’s had a big hit with her song “Players.” Back in April, she gave fans a taste of her upcoming album, with her singles “Bops” and “My Body.

In a recent interview with People, she shared the desire to become a household name.

“I know that I have the ability to make amazing songs, be one of the biggest artists,” she said. “And on top of that, be one of the biggest influential artists — whether it’s in mental health, body positivity, fashion.”

Coi Leray Catches Our Attention While Posing In A Towel In Saucy New IG Post

We’re just two weeks out from the arrival of Coi Leray’s sophomore album, and so far, the 26-year-old’s marketing strategy seems to include plenty of thirst trapping. She’s never been one to hide her petite figure from the public eye, but in recent weeks, we’ve been receiving salacious content from Leray on a near-daily basis. The “Blick Blick” hitmaker’s most recent photo dump landed on Friday (June 9) afternoon, revealing to her millions of followers that she’s been living lavishly in London ahead of COI‘s debut.

“Can’t believe my sophomore album about to really drop,” the Boston-born artist reflected in the caption. “Truly grateful… Sky is the limit.” In the first photo, we see Leray cooly relaxing in what looks to be a luxurious hotel pool. She hides beneath a tight black swim shirt in the opening snap. The following images find her wearing little more than a towel while taking mirror snaps in various suggestive poses.

Coi was creative and crafty enough to make both a tube top and skirt out of towels, also wrapping her beautiful black hair up in one when she finished swimming. In the final image, the “Anxiety” artist finally opted to wear a towel in the traditional style, but couldn’t resist snapping a cheeky booty shot in the mirror before moving on to her next activities of the day.

Before taking some time to let her hair down in London, the rising starlet had a wild time in New York City last weekend. Not only was she one of the artists to perform at Hot 97 Summer Jam, but she also shared footage of her getting a little too lit in the Big Apple with her best friends. Coi Leray’s Diverse And Genre-Spanning ‘Coi’ Tracklist Features David Guetta, James Brown, And More

The release of Coi Leray‘s second studio album, Coi, is still a month away, but that didn’t stop her from sharing the tracklist for the album, which defies genres and finds the New Jersey artist experimenting to her heart’s content. In addition to expected featured artists like the rap-focused Lola Banks and Saucy Santana, the versatile, 15-song tracklist also includes international rising stars like UK grime rapper Giggs and Jamaican dancehall artist Skillibeng. But the most eye-popping inclusion is EDM superstar Dave Guetta, whose presence suggests that Coi isn’t just sticking to rap this time around.

However, none of this should come as a surprise. Although her debut album Trendsetter flew under the radar, fans who did check out the wide-ranging project would have found that Coi is capable of confidently trying just about any style that occurs to her. She’s also shown off her growth in the lead-up to the announcement of Coi with singles like “Players,” “Bops,” and “My Body,” which each displayed a different side of her multifaceted artistry.

Coi Leray Is Ready For A New Season With The Announcement Of Her Sophomore Album, ‘Coi’

Coi Leray‘s a little over a year removed from the release of her debut album Trendsetter. Since then, her profile has grown by leaps and bounds, with her Grandmaster Flash-sampling single “Players” landing in the top 10 of the Hot 100 and soundtracking the upcoming WNBA season.

She’s as popular now as she’s ever been, so the time is ripe for a new album, which she announced today on social media. Titled Coi, the album’s due on June 23 via Uptown Records and Republic, with features from David Guetta, Giggs, Lola Brooke, Saucy Santana, and Skillibeng. Her more recent singles, “Bops” and “My Body,” will also appear among the new album’s 15 tracks, which will run the gamut of genres from rap, rock, pop, reggae, and even dance, according to the press release. Check out the cover art below.

Coi’s been a hot topic of discussion lately, thanks in part to a mention from Latto’s new single “Put It On Da Floor.” After Coi took issue to having her name mentioned in the lyrics, she received a good-natured shout-out from Latto during the Atlanta rapper’s performance at Coachella. This not only ended their “beef,” but established that they appear to be on good terms. Still, that didn’t stop some fans — you know the ones — from speculating that the two rappers had gotten into a fistfight, although that rumor was quickly debunked. As they say, all publicity is good publicity, and Ms. Leray will have plenty heading into the roll out of her new album, which should out-sell her debut now that she’s got some momentum.

Coi is due 6/23 via Uptown and Republic. You can get more info here.
